Big Bad Boss by Renee Rose and Less Savino is a book you can't put down! I was NOT very happy it left on a cliffhanger, but it does make me want to read the next book to find out what happens. I will be patiently waiting for that that happen!

Madison is a sassy, take no shit type of girl. She will not hold back her tongue, but she sure as hell will have her facts straight before she says anything. Brick is your typical alpha male, boss man. He can't keep any assistants because as soon as they speak he gets irritated and dismisses them. Well, that was until he met his match with Madison. They quickly hit it off or get on each other's nerves, depending on how you look at it. They become the perfect working duo and start making moves together. Madison quickly draws the attention of Brick, as he does the same for her. Their going back and forth was torture not only for them; but for the readers.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an alpha male book but also a woman who makes him squirm a little bit with her sassy, take no shit attitude. As I continued to read the book, I did not want to put it down because I wanted to find out what happened next. I enjoyed this book and how it was written. I thought there were perfect twists in the book, and continued to keep you engaged to see what Madison and Brick were going to do. Thank you, Renee Rose and Less Savino, for allowing me to read your book and give my honest review. I look forward to reading the next book (I hope I don't have to wait too long) and others by you!

Nooooo, not an open ending. No closure. Face-palm. There was a panic moment when I noticed less than 30 pages to go and so much more to unravel. If the author had to make a cliffhanger, I’m glad the author chose to end it where they did.

Modern day- Wallstreet Billionaire Boss meets an alluring and sharp assistant. Madison is your clever, everyday girl, a recent graduate in need of a job. Can she rise to the challenge of a big bad boss, or is he more than just an alpha jerk? Brick, yes, you may need to not cringe over some of the names. He is the alpha boss who built an empire with his pack family. Pack? Yes, you have it correctly. He’s more than human, a wolf shifter, and the alpha (leader) of his family.

He is bound to live his life for others and not for himself. I think it makes him a bit cranky. With pressure within his family and the ever potential of rival shifter packs, he is left a little thin on emotional intelligence. Poor Madison is out of her depths, and I worry about what the future will hold.

I could not put this one down. Highly sensual and charged dynamic duo. I will warily wait for the next installment.

First things first: This book ends with a cliff hanger and after getting over that frustration, it leaves you wanting to hurry up the authors to publish the next one, and the one after that in this Werewolves of Wall Street trilogy.

Brick, the lead male, is the stereotypical billionaire a-hole, going through assistants quicker than he changes his underwear - well, that's until Madison comes along and puts him in his place. She's bright, sassy and knows what she wants - enough money to pay her brother's tuition fees and to do some under cover research.

Big Bad Boss: Midnight is an amazingly well written and captivating shifter story mixing hotness and business; a shame it ended with a cliffhanger. It's publishing tomorrow 29 February 2024.

Big Bad Boss: Midnight is the first book of the Werewolves of Wall Street trilogy and can’t be read as a standalone but. I had no idea this ended on a cliffhanger and wasn’t prepared! I need answers and can’t wait for book two! I ended up really loving this book and am happy to be back in this world. I absolutely love the fmc, Madi! She was smart and sassy and wasn’t afraid of talking back to Brick, her boss! Brick is the alpha of his pack and can’t mate a human…even though his wolf is calling Madi his mate! I loved the banter between these two! This was a fast paced book and was also a quick read that I was able to finish in a few hours. I can’t wait for the next book so I can get some much needed answers!

The intense chemistry between Madison and Brick was electrifying. I liked Both main characters, especially Madison as a strong female lead.

Overall, it was an incredibly enjoyable journey from beginning to end.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

He is a billionaire alpha wolf shifter - focused, harsh, aggressive, loyal. She is a recent college graduate desperate to help her family out. She becomes an indispensable part of his world, though he fights every step of the way. There are so many reasons why they shouldn't be together but none of them seem to matter to him the moment he scents her in a room. She has a feeling she will never be the same after he's through with her.

Madison and Brick were fun characters to read. They had a great dynamic when they were one-on-one. She is mouthy and unafraid and he is determined to not give in to his attraction to her and when that fails, he's determined to take what he wants, but remain unaffected. If only his inner Wolf agreed with him. The problem is he is the Alpha of his Pack and Madi is a human - forbidden but far too tempting. Claiming her as his mate would spell disaster for his Pack and Brick is torn between his duty and the woman he's coming to need.

For the most part, this fast paced book was exciting and moved right along without being vague about the high stakes involved. While I did find the villain Adalwulf to be a bit cartoony, but it wasn't so bad that I didn't enjoy the book. The only thing I truly disliked was the cliffhanger ending. Never been a fan of those kind of writing ploys, but it is what it is. Overall, it was a good read with interesting and well-developed characters.

I’m a sucker for boss/employee romances AND shifter romances, so when I saw this book, I immediately HAD to read it.

The big bad boss of Wall Street, Brick, is alphahole ultimate, and when he meets sassy, take-no-shit, assistant to his assistant, Maddison, sparks fly! The chemistry between them was absolutely sizzzzling!!! The build up to the two of them getting together was also believable, and with moderate spice.

We get reasonable glimpses into shifter life, though in not much detail (possibly expounded in upcoming books?).

[Spoiler Alert] Though, towards the end of the book, I did grow tired of Brick’s constant mood changes about whether he was going to ‘end things’ with Maddison.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC.

Warning: Ends on a cliffhanger.

Side note: What kind of name is Brick?? 😭

Human vs. Shifter...

Madi goes to work for Brick Blackthroat for two reason. To make money to put her half brother through NYU and to expose Wall Street for the stereotypes they perpetrate and Blackthroat perpetrates every single stereotype and then some. Madi is whip smart and Brick is distracted by her scent. He's a bosshole extraordinare. He's also a wolf shifter with family drama and serious issues.
Ends on a cliffhanger.

Good read, but didn’t realize that it was a cliff hanger. When sassy Madi decides to go to Wall Street to work, she bites off more then she can chew or does she?

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

Brick is the president of Moon Co. He is demanding and goes through personal assistants at an alarming rate. He has a lot of pressure on him because he is also the alpha of his pack and another pack is trying to take over their territory. When he needs to hire a new assistant to his assistant, he hires Madi. She is the one person that can look him straight in the eye and who can talk back to him. He is intrigued but he has to focus on the future of his pack.

This is part one of Brick and Madi's story so this has a cliffhanger ending. I don't want to decide how I feel about an unfinished story so I'm going to focus on the elements in this story and not the good or bad. Brick is a jerk. He is aware of the fact that he is a jerk. At first, I thought he was being a jerk to Madi but then the author developed the part of the story that it is his werewolf response to Madi. Once Brick and Madi end up at his family/pack home, the author makes some choices that I didn't fully understand but that is also the end of this installment so I'm thinking it will all be made clear in the next installment. Madi wants to be a social work but decides to take a job on Wall Street in order to earn money to help her brother pay for college. I thought that was a very weird choice by the author since Madi then steps into the job of assistant and knows how to do everything including reports. Did she minor in business? The fact that she doesn't notice that no one else can look him in the eye strikes me as odd. I am hoping that she is more tuned into what's happening around her in the next installment. I have doubts considering what she did right before the end of the story!

This is a contemporary werewolf story set in New York. The hero is an alphahole and the heroine is strong and smart woman. There are side characters but they don't really add to the story except to show that Brick is a jerk and Madi is strong. The story has a major cliffhanger! I will read more from this author in the future because I think the author has a good idea and there are lots of ways the story can go.

Big Bad Boss by Renee Rose and Lee Savino is a captivating and steamy romance novel that delves into the power dynamics between an alpha male and his feisty assistant. The story follows Brick Blackthroat, a dominant and successful businessman who rules the business world with an iron fist and is the undisputed Alpha of his pack. However, his authority is challenged by his new assistant, Madi, who fearlessly questions his decisions and dares to call him the "Big Bad Boss" behind his back. The tension between Brick and Madi is palpable from the start, with Madi's boldness and defiance sparking a fire in Brick that he can't ignore. As their professional relationship becomes increasingly strained, Brick finds himself irresistibly drawn to Madi, despite her status as a mere human. The authors do an excellent job of building up the sexual tension between the characters, creating a sense of anticipation that keeps readers on the edge of their seats. What sets Big Bad Boss apart from other romance novels is its unique blend of power dynamics, passion, and forbidden desire. Brick's inner struggle between his desire for Madi and his need to maintain control is portrayed with raw intensity, making his eventual surrender to his feelings all the more satisfying. Madi, on the other hand, is a strong and independent heroine who refuses to back down in the face of Brick's domineering presence, making her a compelling counterpart to his alpha personality. Overall, Big Bad Boss is a gripping and sensual read that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. With its sizzling chemistry, complex characters, and electrifying romance, this book is a must-read for fans of steamy contemporary romance. Renee Rose and Lee Savino have crafted a captivating love story that explores the boundaries of power and passion, making Big Bad Boss a standout addition to the romance genre.

Big bad boss is a paranormal romance about a billionaire alpha wolf shifter whose family are at “war” with his fathers murderers. In order to be the best alpha for his pack, he must find a she-wolf to mate, however fates have chosen his feisty new human assistant to be said mate, and his pack are not happy about it.

I really enjoyed the female main character, she was a very strong lead. I loved that she didn’t let anyone walk all over her. The banter between Brick and Madi was fantastic, the chemistry between them was very evident. The conflict of Brick being an alpha and putting his packs needs before his own was a nice touch, i do look forward to seeing how it progresses in the next book.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of billy, but I do think that’s intentional, as a reader I’m not meant to like him. He was very infuriating imo. I do hope that changes in the next book.

Over I really enjoyed this book, a very fast paced, fun, easy read. I can’t wait to read the next part of Madi and Bricks love story

Intriguing!

I love Madi’s sass and attitude. Brick is typical alpha trying to do right by his heritage and fighting against instinct which is creating much drama and anticipation for more to come.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.

W🔥W! I loved everything about this story. It grabbed my attention at the very beginning and held it until the end and it does have a cliffhanger which means I can’t wait to see what happens next. The main characters are amazing and the growing relations between Brick and Madi is h🔥t. Danger appears to be on the horizon. This story is definitely worth reading.

I really liked the book, but I was not prepared for the cliff hanger! I think that the main thing that I was confused about, is if he thinks that her father is an Adulwulf, then why is Brick so concerned that she’s human? Wouldn’t she be part werewolf too?

4.5 stars

Brick and Madi’s story was a really great read! The banter between these two was so fun. I loved how Madi always tried to get under Brick’s skin, which really was not too hard to do. As Brick’s new administrative assistant, Madi was becoming indispensable at his company, but there was something deeper there. Brick has been fighting this intense chemistry and attraction, because he knew that nothing could come of it. They do finally give in to the attraction but there are forces that would try to keep them apart.

Overall, I loved the story, there were a few side characters that annoyed me and that cliffhanger really bummed me out, but still definitely kept my attention. I cannot wait for the conclusion to their story!

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Midnight Romance Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. All opinions are my own.
