Big Bad Boss follows a human who goes to work for an alpha hole, werewolf billionaire, and the explosive relationship they develop.

Madi is an incredibly intelligent, sharp, sassy and takes-no-shiz recent college grad who is ready to take Wall Street by storm, despite never seeing herself as working for ‘the man’.

Brick is your typical alpha hole shifter: broody, cagey and incredibly dominant. He leans into his role as alpha of his pack with ease, putting both his pack and his coworkers in their place on the regular.

Madi Evans was fortunate enough to have the best opportunities for education when she was younger, thanks to an anonymous donation presumably from her absent father. When her younger brother is close to giving up an opportunity to attend NYU due to losing out on a scholarship, Madi makes the decision to work in the finance world in order to help afford his tuition so he can be afforded the same opportunities. Little does she know that her new boss is Brick Blackthroat, notorious for his cold demeanor and firing assistants on a near weekly cadence. Madi quickly demonstrates how adept she is at her work, much to Brick’s surprise and annoyance. It would be easier if she wasn’t around, since her scent and presence seem to incessantly call to Brick’s wild werewolf side. How will he be able to get this seemingly innocent human out of his head so he can focus on his business and the future of his pack?

This book was such a fun read! I demolished it in a day and couldn’t put it down. I haven’t read too many shifter romance stories; this one was a true joy to read! I highly recommend this book.

Tropes in this story:
✨ Billionaire
✨ Boss/employee relationship
✨ Sassy, witty and sharp FMC
✨ Alphahole, grumpy MMC
✨ Age gap (he’s 10 years older)

Thank you, NetGalley, for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Brick Blackthroat is an Alpha-hole that doesn't let anything or anyone ruffle his feathers and get him distracted till Madison Evans, His new human Secretary. Madison prides her self on a job well done and doesn't take crap from anyone including her new boss. This book has the perfect plot with the right amount of spice. The push and pull keeps you on edge till the end. Midnight is book one in the Big Bad Boss Trilogy.

This was a fun and steamy introduction to a new PNR author for me. The plot develops slowly and this installment ends in a cliffhanger, but the characters are fun and witty and the style of the writing is easy to follow. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

This was such a nice surprise! I read this in a few hours, looking for a fun and sexy little read and this definitely hit the spot. We get attached easily to the characters, the built up is nicely done and the end leaves you wanting for more. Definitely excited for the next installment!

The only thing I had a problem with, was the editing. Multiple times there is a lot of unnecessary repetition (about 4 times it is mentioned Madi has a chip on her shoulder on money issues), and this was especially visible during Brick and Aiden’s conversation where only a few sentences apart he says “you sit in your high tower” twice in a row.

I’m still very excited to read what’s next!

Loved this book! Excited to see where the story goes. It's always refreshing to have a strong female lead with a sense of humor and a strong sense of self. Enjoyed the writing style and I just want more!

I loved her! She‘s smart, confident and talks back to Brick. Sometimes her sayings were so funny and Bricks reaction was hilarious. She is a loyal and lovely person and does her job with a lot of passion.

❥ 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌
Most of the time he is an asshole, a typical Wall Street boss with responsibility over his family and company. There are a lot of family secrets and drama that Brick has to take care of.

I‘m thankful that I got an ARC of this book! <3
It was an enjoyable and entertaining read. The writing style is fluent and everything is easy to understand.
Brick and Madison are likeable and well built characters. They have great tension and the smut was hot. I liked the way Madi stood her ground against Brick and that she wasn‘t a woman who let him roll all over her. Brick was very possessive of her - that was hot. I don't understand why he didn't delve more into his wolf's obsession with Madison. His thoughts were always "I need a strong she-wolf as a mate and Madi is a human", like bruuuh just THINK a little bit maybe everything will make sense in the end.
The side characters were mostly likeable too except of Bricks cousin: Why does he hate humans so much?
The plot was entertaining most of the time. The little word battles from Brick and Madi were my highlights.
The end was mean and I am so curious what will happen in the next books! I hope Brick let‘s his feelings for Madi develop and that he doesn‘t make a stupid decision.
Overall this was a good read, I would definitely recommend if you like CEO and shifter romances.

This is the first book I've read from these authors and now I want to read them all!

I loved the chemistry between the characters, the dual POV writing and the pace of the book. I read it in less than 24 hours.

Certainly can't wait for the next one in the series!

This was well paced and entertaining, but definitely over the top, to the point that it was distracting. His name is Brick and his last name sounds like he's a pirate.I feel like the trope already give all the campiness you would need.

A Treadmill book for me! What does that mean? I was reading it on my treadmill and it didn't even feel like I was walking. I was so engrossed in the story that I didn't notice how much time I had left to walk on the treadmill. That is a good sign of a great book!

I loved this story! I loved the chemistry between Brick and Madi. I love her fiestyness and his rough exterior. I was so glad to have a strong, smart capable female lead. But it left me with a cliffhanger and I want more!!

Loved reading the mesmerizing and engaging paranormal story. Even though Madison's boss, Brick is arrogant and rude to her, Madison can't help how attractive Brick is, and Brick, an alpha werewolf, tries hard not to want Madison. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting love story. Can't wait to read the next story in the series by the amazing duo authors, Renee Rose and Leee Savino!

This is a cute shifter romance that even without the cliffhanger, leaves you wanting more. While the two mains lean heavily into the alpha/rich boy and human/sassy roles, the banter and chemistry between them make for a great read. The side plots also leave me wondering what's happening next in this series! Looking forward to the hopefully happy ending in the next book.

I need to preface this review with that I devoured this book in a few hours. There was no housework done, husband had to order pizza because I was not putting this book down, and dogs were looking at me asking for their walk. (Ok I put the book down for their walk, who can say no to those cute little furry faces).

✅ Dual POV
✅ Forbidden lovers
✅ Work Colleagues
✅ Alpha-hole (but we still love him)
🌶️ 4 out of 5

The characters are absolutely so well written and I love, love, love how even outside the MC’s you got a glimpse of the friend’s personalities.

My ONLY gripe is that it leaves off on a TERRIBLE cliff hanger! I’m dying for book 2.

I loved Madison. She had me laughing with some of her behavior towards Brick. I really enjoyed this one. It did end in a cliffhanger. Can't wait for the second one!

He's a wolf shifter and the CEO of the company. She's human and his assistant. But that doesn't stop her from speaking her mind and holding her own in the office, and she clearly intrigues him. Brick and Madi sure have some chemistry and I love their banter back and forth! And those steamy scenes were perfect, leaving the wolf in him wanting to claim her as his. But he cannot mate a human, not as an alpha, not if he wants to keep his pack and keep challenging their rivals - or can he?

The book was fast paced and had me wanting to keep reading! The story ends on a cliffhanger and I am curious to see what the author will write for the next book in the series!

I was provided an early copy of this book to read and this review is completely voluntary. Thank you to NetGalley, as well as the authors, Renee Rose and Lee Savino!

I love Madi! She is smart, sassy and takes no crap from her boss-hole Brick. I loved the back and forth between them. I really enjoyed this book right up to the cliff hanger at the end. I can’t wait for the next installment

This book was everything I hoped it would be. The characters were well thought out, each having their own quirks and habits. The dialogue was amazing. There was a plot outside of the fun smutty bits. The realistic way these authors write allowed me to get sucked in; I was no longer in the real world, but watching this story play out in my head. The family dynamics throughout the story—for both of the main characters—were complicated and messy, which is very realistic and made them more likable.

I loved the banter. It didn't matter which characters were conversing, it all seemed natural and was always fun to read. There was chemistry (though not always the same kind of chemistry) between all of the characters that made it easy to see how they could eventually end up making their own “found family.” Relationships weren't forced as they sometimes are and the characters' interactions evolved naturally.

The romance was steamy and the chemistry between Brick and Madison was undeniable. They flirted, they played, they argued and made “amends” for their actions. It wasn't a slow burn romance, but it wasn't love at first sight, either. It seemed real, allowing them to break down the others' walls and get to the juicy center of who they were before they really started falling.

My biggest complaint was the ending. What a cliffhanger! Knowing that I'll have to wait before I can find out how this story plays out is killing me slowly!

Overall, do I think this will go down as a classic piece of literature? Probably not. But do I think it was everything it was supposed to be? Absolutely. It was fun, well written, and made reality melt away for a few hours. Five stars.

Approached with an open mind, as fantasy isn't usually my preference. Surprisingly, I enjoyed this book—it struck a good balance between fantasy and paranormal elements. The storyline captivated me, and the ending left me wanting more. Hoping there's a sequel in the works; excited for what comes next!

If I had known this would end in a cliffhanger, I'm not sure I would have requested it. Good story. Lots of depth. I'm not quite sure where its going. Madi is keeping Brick on his toes for sure. I'm invested in these characters for sure.
