Looking for a characters with spunk and humor? This is exactly what you will get in this book. There are many characters in this book and their points of views are shared in alternating chapters. Betty Jean is what I would consider the main character. Her story touched me the most. A mother raising three kids who all end up having issues of their own. Yet she manages to go against the odds and raise her two grandsons to be successful in their lives.

This was a book that I was unsure of. Once I started reading I could not possibly put it down. I enjoyed all the characters and their histories. Terry McMillan wrote a witty and genuine story. I definitely recommend this.
