This one was a mixed bag - perhaps not surprising for anthology - but I honestly found some pieces boring.

On the other hand, there were others that made up for it, notably a certain hamster tale. Given that there are so many amazing female comics around, I had just hoped to come across more high quality work here.

From other reviews, it is clear that many people enjoyed this collection and as a card carrying feminist I really wanted to like it. Humour is so subjective, and often just a matter of our personal quirks and preferences. So I would suggest that anyone who finds the book appealing go ahead and give it a try.

This book is a fantastic quick read, but likewise it is one you can return to again and again. "The Art of Genital Persuasion" by Kathy Lette had me absolutely howling with laughter and frankly, each story at least got a few chuckles right up to gasping for air, reaching for the inhaler honking laughter!

"Jenny Bean, Calamity Queen" by Julia Wood is certainly not one to miss and neither is "Ways With Mince" by Kathryn Simmonds. When I say I was crying laughing, it is no exaggeration

Whether you like to devour an anthology or as I did with this one, savour one story as a treat on the daily, you will not be disappointed in this book. Blooming fantastic!

Thank you to Netgalley and the authors for this brilliantly hilarious anthology. My review is left voluntarily and all opinions are my own

I love reading short stories especially from witty women. My favourite story involved a hamster and a Sinead O’Connor song ‘Nothing compared to you’. This is a book I will return to again when I need a pick me up. It is lovely to have an anthology solely based on women’s humour. I appreciated the wit throughout. Thanks for the ARC.

Honestly this collection is a good example of why I'm always nervous about short story collections. Some were funny and hit the mark, some felt like a total miss. Personal taste of course but I just didn't find some of them funny or couldn't get into them in a short story format. I really enjoyed some though and I'm glad I gave it a go. I love the writing of people like Josie Long and Lucy Vine so I'll take it wherever I can get it!

I tried really hard to like this book, but I couldn’t get into it. I didn’t think any of it was funny in the slightest. Maybe it’s funnier if you’re British.
