Being from the same county in NC as Asheboro, this was a must-read-ahead and I got copies for both of our library book clubs. I especially enjoyed the quip of men in Asheboro looking they had too much extra gravy on their biscuits! Otherwise, the book fell into the predictable arc of Sparks' romances where you're 95% sure they're getting together at the end. The inclusion of the older gentleman character and his backstory was enjoyable and a little different. sweet and tender light read that was pleasant enough I read it in a weekend.

When it comes to Nicholas Sparks, there is just no one that can compare to his emotional & beautifully written wordsmith!

And that’s how I felt with this book as well. A wonderful story that kept me captivated throughout and just really feeling the story.

I would highly recommend! He is a comfort author for me and will always be my OG fav author.

Thank you @netgalley for the eARC

This story was both heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. As always, Nicholas Sparks created a story that sticks with you. A story full of characters that you immediately fall in love with and feel like you’ve known forever. Counting Miracles is an intricate story of survival and love. It takes you on an emotional journey that I for one enjoyed every minute of!

I loved this!! Nicholas Sparks has been an auto-read author for me since high school and I thought this was so well done! I loved how the story progressed and the variety of characters. It evoked so many different emotions and I loved how it all came together. It had the perfect amount of depth and romance.

When you’re in the mood for a real feel good love story, Nicholas Sparks has you covered. Every time. He never lets us down! Counting Miracles is no different. Beautifully written, uncomplicated and romantic (well… there’s always complications with romance!). Easy reading. Love love love.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC. I am a huge Nicholas Sparks fan and this book quickly became another favorite. Counting miracles was a combination of three heartfelt stories that intertwine themselves into one. They tell the stories of life, tribulations, change, faith, and new starts. I was hooked from the beginning of this book and could not put it down until the very end. I highly recommend this feel good story!

Not my favorite Sparks Book, I think there could be more to the love story and more to the family story and instead I felt like the story we got the most was Tanner's backstory and Jasper's back story.

Nicholas Spark’s books always tug at my heart. This didn’t disappoint. While I did feel that the FMC was a little too intense when it came to the MMC (they only knew each other for a week before she was interrogating him on his intentions.. it was a little much) I am happy with how it turned out. Now, what really broke my heart while reading this book, was Jasper’s story. So much tragedy, but a happy ending.

I received a complimentary copy of this book "Counting Miracles" and all opinions expressed are my own. I've read almost all of Nicholas Sparks books. The famous "The Notebook" which started it all. This was a nice story and kept my interest. Everything flowed smoothly and I enjoyed reading it.

Tanner Hughes is a former Army Ranger who was raised by his grandparents. When his grandmother dies she tells him the name of the father he never knew and he goes to Ashboro, NC to find him. Kaitlyn Hughes is a divorced, mother of two and a physician in town.

There were two stories going on, one was Tanner's and the other was Jasper's, an older gentleman who lived in a cabin in the woods and befriended Mitch, Kaitlyn's young son. While Jasper had a good story I felt at times it was drawn out and I would get bored. Nevertheless as things started to come together I did shed a couple of tears. While I can't say I was disappointed with this book it didn't touch my heart as much as some of Nicholas Sparks' others.

Thank you to Netgalley and Random House - Ballantine for providing me with a digital copy.

Tanner Hughes is about to embark on his next tour as an army ranger, but stops in Asheboro, North Carolina first, where he meets Kaitlyn Cooper. Kaitlyn is a doctor and a single mom to a teen girl and a young boy.

Meanwhile, Kaitlyn’s 83-year-old neighbor Jasper lives alone with only his dog for company.

Sparks takes readers on a journey that intertwines these character’s lives in a way that we won’t soon forget.

Nicholas Sparks’ books just sit right with my soul. I always love the North Carolina town feel from his books and COUNTING MIRACLES is no different. I loved that the book was multigenerational. I loved hearing of Jasper’s life and how he endured the greatest of all tragedies. Meanwhile, learning more from Kaitlyn and Tanner. This was just a heartfelt story that shows even with tragedy, good things can happen that we never would’ve fathomed.

Thank you NetGalley, Random House & Nicholas Sparks for my advanced copy!

Classic Nicholas Sparks. The story line was intriguing, nice romance, and a happy ending. Who could ask for more.

Reading this really threw me back to high school in the best way possible. Nicholas Sparks was the first “adult” author I ever picked up at my local library and I quickly devoured every book published at the time. It was so nostalgic to hop back into that for a moment.

The character development in this was phenomenal. There was so much physical growth that it was palpable. The depth and emotion had me so entranced throughout the book and I absolutely couldn’t put it down.

If you’re not religious (specifically Christian), this book may not be for you as there are a good bit of biblical references throughout.

Huge Nicholas Sparks fan and have read every book but this one didn't tug my heart strings as much as previous works. I'm not a huge religious person so to me there was just too much religious talk in this book For my taste. Cute love story and finding lost family.

Let me preface this by saying it would be hard for Sparks to top The Notebook, but this book comes closer than his most recent works. I did have a bit of a time trying to get into the story (I started thinking he was recycling some points from his other works), but it eventually picked up and was a very sweet and satisfying story. If you are a fan of Nicholas Sparks you will enjoy it. If you aren't, I think you will still enjoy it. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced preview.

P.S. - I was picturing Henry Cavill as Tanner (even after I learned Alan Ritchson will play the part in the upcoming movie.

I have been a fan of Nicholas Spark from the beginning. There were certain aspects of this book I found a little unbelievable but it was still a solid read I think his fans will love.

I enjoyed this novel by Nicholas Sparks. I've read all of his titles and while this one was a bit slow, I found it adorable. I really liked how everyone was connected. Although it was predictible, it was still a great read!
