Another great thriller with of course plot twists that keep you wanting more! Holding true to Modglin’s style this was a page-turner!

While I enjoyed the premise of this book, I just felt that the prose never really reached a level that did the story justice. The characters needed more depth, and while the narrator did a great job, it was a hard book to listen to. Overall I did enjoy this book ,and I am glad to have read it, but I would not recommend to folks. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this work, I enjoyed it.

Three-Star Read
The premise of this book was exciting — a group of book influencers get together for a weekend of fun and book reviewing, and things don’t go as planned. The dialogue was fun and slightly campy, it kind of reminded me of the opening scene of Friday the 13th or one of those type of movies. It felt distinctly nostalgic in that grab a bowl of popcorn and watch all the vintage horror movies at Halloween kind of way.
The characters were entertaining and just this side of quirky. I really couldn’t pinpoint who the killer was because everyone was pretty shady. And, honestly, that just made this book all the more enjoyable.
Then came the plot twist and, y’all, I lost it. The twist wasn’t plausible at all. It felt rushed and thrown together, almost like Modglin was writing two different books and they accidentally got mashed together.
If Modglin separates the beginning from the end and writes two separate books, she’d have a hit on her hands, because both premises are thrilling.
Narration
This was my first time listening to a book narrated by Stacy Gonzalez, and I’d definitely listen to her again. She did a wonderful job with the narration. Her voice was even with enough variation to distinguish between the different characters. There were points when she was plucky and upbeat and others when she was low-key and sinister, every voice and accent matched the character.
The pace of the audiobook was perfect. The chapters flowed evenly because of the subtle pauses, so there was no confusion when a chapter ended or a new one began. I should note there’s an option to speed up the reading, but I tend to leave it at the default setting and that hasn’t been a problem for me so far.
Recommended For…
Because this book is an easy listen and does have some interesting and timely topics, I’d recommend this audiobook for book groups and solo listeners. Some of the areas to explore are what it means to be a book influencer {or a social media influencer}, the politics around book banning, the “realness” of online relationships, and so much more.
Trigger Warnings
Sexual assault, murder, kidnapping

📕 About the book 📕
When six book influencers take a weekend getaway to connect with their fellow creators, it’s meant to be a chance to relax, collaborate, and discuss all of the books they love.
But from the start, something’s clearly amiss. From the host’s mysterious absence and an unexpected guest to an odd occurrence in town and the strange and worrisome behavior of the neighbors, what starts out as an innocent and lively vacation quickly becomes a weekend filled with terror. And when one of the group members believes they see something horrifying at the house next door, their carefully laid plans begin to unravel.
Drawn into a mystery that runs far deeper and is more sinister than they could’ve imagined—and surrounded by those who refute their story—the group struggles to unearth the truth about the house and the couple next door before it’s too late.
As new questions and shocking revelations surface, the group must decide if they can trust each other—not only with their safety in the house but also with their lives entirely.
Listeners’ worst nightmares come to life in this terrifying new thriller that tests the limits of friendship, explores the power of social media influence, digs into the depths of trust, and examines the desperate and dangerous lengths of obsession.
🎀 How I see it 🎀
I had high hopes for this book. When I saw that it was about book influencers (like me!) getting mixed into a sinister situation I was really excited to read it. Unfortunately, this one was just a miss for me. The plot felt pretty weak, the characters came across as flat, and their motivations lacked any real substance. It felt hard to stay invested in the story when nothing truly clicked or felt convincing. Luckily, the narrator was great and made the whole story come to life.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for this advanced copy of the book. All thoughts and opinions are my own thoughts

Quick listen! Kiersten Modglin always fulls me and I never guess the twists! Such a fun ride. Must read!! 5 stars!!

6 book influencers are drawn into an unexpected mystery when their host is a no show and and they find themselves in an odd town with strange happenings...
Will the group trust each other and work together to stay alive or slowly turn on one another?
A great thriller that leads you to wonder of the powers of social media and how they can sway the trust of others. A definite page turner!

This is my second audiobook by Kiersten Modglin and she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. You'll never know I'm here is about a group of book influencers who all met online but never in person. They plan a great in what is supposed to be a cozy little town that is halfway for them all. They are all so excited to meet one another and do some collaborations together. Shortly after arriving, Lena starts to experience and feel that something is not right but she cannot figure out what.
This is such a great book with a blindsiding turn of events. The characters are so much fun and it's hard to not relate to them if you are a social media book influencer. My two favorite characters were Lena and Memphis. I was really hoping for some more relationship development with them.
The ending of the book definitely surprised me. I wasn't expecting it and how Kiersten Modglin came up with it is beyond me.
The narrator Stacy Gonzalez did a wonderful job in telling the story and really takes you on a wild ride. You can feel the emotions and especially fear of the characters come alive through her telling.
Rating: 5 - if you are a lover of mysteries and thrillers then this is definitely a must read for you. I highly recommend that you add it to your TBR.
Many thanks to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for this review copy. This is my honest opinion.

This was my first book by this author, but it certainly won’t be the last! It was super fast-paced, albeit a bit of a slow burn. I loved the plot of a bunch of book influencers meeting up to spend a weekend together. I would love to do that with my Booksta besties! There were a couple of twists I guessed, but there were still a few that definitely threw me for a loop!

the ups and downs, twists and turns get me every single time. I don't know how modeling does it but she does. I can never give a real synopsis of her books because I feel like I will ruin it so read the back and enjoy the ride!

Not my favorite of the author’s. Ms. Modglin has to know out like a book a month, so they can’t all be 5 star reads. I’ll definitely be continuing to read her books in the future. This one was just a miss for me.

Another quick, exciting story from Kiersten. I received a gifted copy of this one from Dreamscape Media and NetGalley and I enjoyed the narration. This is not the first book I’ve listened to that Stacy narrated, and it won’t be my last.
I liked that this book is about bookstagrammers. I’ve been a part of the Bookstagram community for the last couple of years and it’s such a special group. So many bookstagrammers have gone out of their way to have meet ups and that made this book really relatable.

Where do I start with this one, I wanted to love it, I wanted to at least enjoy it and at times I did enjoy it but overall this one was just a miss for me.
Now maybe I'm being hard on it, but the first two thirds were good, some moments were really good, but that ending, who the murderer /murderers were, and their reasoning behind all of it was just not something I enjoyed.
The one consistently bright spot was our narrator, Stacy Gonzalez, even during the craziest parts of this book (and boy did it get crazy) she lent some credibility and maturity to our group of bloggers.
Now for just a moment let me vent, and if you want to avoid spoilers just stop reading here, but the idea that they were kind of murdering people for promoting certain types of books made me angry, it just seriously rubbed me the wrong way.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for providing a copy of this audiobook, I have voluntarily listened to it and all thoughts are my own.

Kiersten Modglin is a staple in the mystery/thriller department. Her books are always worth the read/listen. I loved the narrator, as always. strong 5 stars.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the free copy of You'll Never Know I'm Here by Kiersten Modglin in exchange for my honest review.

Ok, while I'm still KMod's biggest fan, this one just didn't do it for me. I loved the bookstagram aspect of it (of course lol). I think the "cause" and what they were doing to bookstagrammers just didn't feel like it would really happen. Unless, I'm just really naive. The suspense and writing was obviously there, I just couldn't get my head around if this would really happen. I listened to the audiobook and it was very good!
*Thank you @dreamscape_media for the #gifted audiobook in exchange for an honest review.*

Six book influencers decide to meet up in person after becoming friends on social media. They plan to spend some time together, discuss books, and explore opportunities for future collaborations. However, things seem a bit strange in the small town they visit. Through the eyes of Lena, one of the influencers, we get a glimpse of the odd behavior of the townsfolk. We also see how influencers struggle to fit in and keep up with each other instead of just enjoying their love for books.
As the story progresses, it turns from a fun adventure into a psychological thriller, leaving readers wondering what is happening. The book is written in Modglin's signature short and sweet style, quickly immersing readers into the story. However, when the twist is revealed, the story takes a bit of a dip. The reasoning behind the strange happenings in the town doesn't make much sense, and the abrupt ending is unsatisfying. The bonus chapter set one year later doesn't provide a clear conclusion either.
The narrator does a fantastic job conveying the intensity and psychological aspects of the story. Very well done. Overall, the book is a wild ride. It's a quick read that's packed with action and excitement, making it perfect for a one-sitting read. Definitely worth the read.

Give me a book about 6 book influencers in a rental house in the country and let me guess what's going to happen next! I couldn't stop listening and staying up WAY too late, wondering what was going to happen next. The neighbors had me scratching my head, not sure who was telling the truth...and then the betrayal! The ending had my mind blown and I was shook!
Bravo, Kiersten! Bravo!
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC of the ARC!

Well I definitely did not guess how this was going to turn out! I think a lot of readers will relate to the cast of characters in the books. They are all social media influencers that meet up at a cabin in the woods. Only…. things begin to go awry 👀

KMOD is one of my favourite authors and never let’s me down. You’ll never Know I’m Here is full of Kiersten’s signature twists and turns and one of those books that’s impossible to put down once you start.
What could possibly go wrong when a group of six book influencers meet up for a weekend away of bookish fun. Weird vibes, a last minute drop out, odd neighbours and a possible sight of a murder start this weekend off on a bad foot … and it just gets worse!
Hugely entertaining - I kept thinking of my fellow bookstagrammers, and might skip any future planned weekends away 😂
Beautifully narrated by Narrated by Stacy Gonzalez 🎧

Six book influencers went on a weekend getaway to connect with their fellow creators, but strange things started happening. From an absent host, an unexpected guest, to the strange behaviour of the neighbours, it soon became a weekend of terror.
This was a relatively short book that could be read in one sitting. As expected, this was a pop-corn thriller with some slasher elements which I quite enjoyed. However, I’m sad to say that the plot twist in the end didn’t end up working for me. It felt a bit far fetching for me personally.
If you’re after a quick, fun read and wouldn’t mind unrealistic turns in the details, this one could be for you! The book influencer setting was fun addition for me.

Thank you to Net Galley for the advance reader audio copy of this book. I am a huge Modglin fan, but You'll Never Know I'm Here, does not measure up to her other books. The premise, people stuck together in a cabin/house, trying to get along, but mysteries come about, has been overdone in my opinion. The fact that these people all are authors or love reading and writing gave me high hopes for this book. In the end, I didn't care for the (too many) characters and didn't really care what happened to them. 3 stars only because I finished it and love Kiersten Modglin.
