I received an early copy of the audiobook for review, this is my own opinion.
First, because I received a copy of the audiobook, I'd like to say that the narrator did an excellent job. No notes!
Hannah Tate is a MESS. And honestly, what new mother isn't? Her long term boyfriend doesn't help her with baby duties, and when she thinks he's going to propose, he actually breaks up with her. Hannah moves in with her mom and step dad (also messes) and begins to work on sprucing up their AirBnB. There, she meets River, and is immediately horny for him.
Overall, this is cute and fun, with some good spicy scenes. I liked Hannah's character arc, while I'd like to have seen more development of the relationship with River, I think the story ends up in a good place!
I went into this expecting romance, but looking back at the descriptive tags, it's categorized GenFic, then New Adult, then Romance third, which tracks as far as what I read, but based on my own misunderstanding, it at least ups my rating a little bit, since the romance was definitely not the main focus. (It's there, but not enough to truly be called a romance like I thought.)
*Thanks to Netgalley, Dreamscape Audio, and Laura Piper Lee for the advanced copy,*

Hannah Tate can hardly believe her sleep-deprived eyes when she finds an engagement ring hidden in her closet. Killian, her super responsible boyfriend—and the father of her new baby, Bowie—is FINALLY going to propose. But a romantic night out goes horribly wrong when Killian reveals he’s dumping Hannah, not proposing. Furious and heartbroken, Hannah takes Bowie and moves in with her mom and stepdad in the mountains of Blue Ridge, Georgia. Hannah realizes that her parents’ cabin has vacation property gold written all over it—and could save her mama from going broke. Only problem? The cabin is in desperate need of renovation. Hannah hires the hot carpenter, River, living in the treehouse next door to fix up the place. Not only does River respect Hannah’s business acumen, he looks at her like she’s a woman, not a hot mess. And Hannah can’t deny that River awakens something new inside her. Can Hannah embrace a future that looks different from the picture-perfect family she once dreamed of and maybe start living life on her own terms?
Thank you @netgalley, @laurapiperlee, and @dreamscape_media for this audiobook ARC! Hannah’s character was super relatable as she tried to juggle her life and aspirations while being a new mom and essentially solo parenting. Her emotions and feelings were depicted so honestly and I loved that. I also loved how her relationship with her parents changed and grew throughout the book. I enjoyed the is book more for Hannah’s development as a mom, entrepreneur, daughter, and friend than I did for its romance aspects. River was a little mediocre to me as a love interest and he often came across as selfish and immature. But Hannah’s character held her own and I couldn’t help but cheer for her and hope that things would work out for her. The ending was hilarious and very gratifying in rectifying some injustices that Hannah suffered while creating her AirBnB. Hannah Tate comes out next week!

This is Laura Piper Lee's debut novel and it's an absolute delight. This is a starting over in a small town trope. It deals with unresolved issues of childhood, and finding your passion in life. All the characters are great. Our heroine Hannah has a young baby, and she's moved home and is finding her way in the world again. This is all done with wonderful humor and emotional insights.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media. The narrator Kelli Tager was exceptional, and I enjoyed listening to her. I loved this book and highly recommend it. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

*I received a copy of this book on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for this opportunity*
Hannah Tate is wearing many (many) hats: she's a new mother to sweet baby boy Bowie, devoted girlfriend to her rock star baby daddy, supportive best friend to a lesbian powerhouse lawyer, hygge inspired interior decorator, worker bee in a company she hates, and responsible daughter for her mother and step-father. However, in a painful domino cascade, almost everything that Hannah holds near and dear to her heart slips through her fingers. Suddenly, she's a single mother with no place to live and no home-- forced to move back in with her historically immature parents and trying to figure out her next moves in a tiny mountain town.
HANNAH TATE, BEYOND REPAIR is definitely Hannah's story of growth and acceptance-- it's nuanced and real, and I firmly believe that every reader will find something to relate to in Hannah's journey. The romance is spicy and fun, but it definitely takes second place to Hannah's story.
Some things I didn't love: the names G-Ma and Big Daddy for Hannah's parent's grandparent names. It was pretty cringe and may have gone over better if there had been an explanation for why Daryl wanted to be called Big Daddy rather than something like... grandpa? There was also a LOT of reference to Hannah's lactating breasts. Like, a lot. My job literally entails helping women breastfeed and even I felt like it was a little over the top-- it seemed like all Hannah wanted to think or talk about were her leaking nipples for the first half of the book.
Things I did love: Hannah. She was a hot mess express, but was also genuine and incredibly well written. I also loved her friends and family (weird grandparent names aside), her interior design skills, and the beautiful scenery of Georgia.
Overall, I really enjoyed HANNAH TATE and think it would be a great fall, feel good read!

Things I LOVED about this book:
I loved that it was a romance centered around a new mom who is struggling with her identity and her relationship because, same.
I loved the premise of moving back in with your folks because that is believable.
I loved the secondary characters immensely.
Things I didn't love about this book:
I didnt really like the FMC as the book went on, she started feeling whiny and annoying.
around 80% through the book I was hoping she'd go back to baby daddy and give him another shot, because he was 100% seeming like the better choice for her and I found River to be fairly insufferable. And i can honestly say that is the first time I have read a romance and disagreed with who the character ended up with.

It wasn't that there was a lot wrong with this book, but I think the appeal might limited. I'm not sure exactly how the author did it, but the book definitely had a "down home" southern flavor that might not appeal to everyone. I think another part of the problem with this story was that most of the time other people are rescuing her instead of her standing on her own two feet. Her friend, a lawyer, gets her two years severance pay, d now she can fix up the air B and B. Her parents neighbor is a great handy man. Her "baby daddy" ends up in love with her, but will agree to make a new kind of family. And the handy man neighbor is great in bed and solves the mystery of the hard to please renters so she can get back run the B and B again and make money to take care of her family. It was all a little too pat. But for a rom com it was ok, although if I hear Big Daddy one more time I will throw my phone against the wall!

This small town romance was a good, quick, listen! Hannah and her baby move to the mountains with her parents when her jerk of boyfriend decides to propose the idea of civil coparenting to her. She is on a journey to find herself but she also feels like she is responsible for everyone else's problems as well. Her mom and step dad's neighbor, River, is the perfect contractor to help her get the airbnb off the ground and it helps that he is nice to look at.
I feel like this story was more focused on Hannah than on her romance. It was really long and the description really left out a lot of things. There is some spice and I think that Hannah's stepdad was my favorite character.

This was really sweet! I loved how we focused on Hannah getting her confidence back after a terrible relationship and becoming a new mother. This had the predictable rom com potholes to overcome, but I found this to be a wonderful story, a delightful cast of characters and a perfect read for Valentines Day!

Hannah has a new baby. She's exhausted and she's let herself go and hasn't had sex with her live-in boyfriend since the baby's birth. When she accidentally finds an engagement ring, she's happy, envisioning her life with her small family. But then her boyfriend breaks up with her. And she loses her job when she's on maternity leave, for refusing to step in and do someone else's job.
So she goes back to live with her mother and newish stepfather. The plan is to help get their new purchase ready as a vacation rental property, while she gets her own footing.
She has no self confidence anymore. She's not sure what to do with her life, but she loves being a new mother. This book is about Hannah finding confidence, finding herself, and maybe finding love again. But none of it is easy. There are many, many potholes tripping her up on the road to happiness. And for some reason the rental has hit a lot of snags, too. The characters were an interesting mix of personalities, everything from a guy who lives in a tree house, to a lawyer, to a woman who was always looking for love and neglected her daughter, to a nit-picky financial advisor who always finds fault in others - particularly in Hannah.
The story was interesting and sexy. I listened to the audio version of this book. I thought the narrator was great.

Hannah Tate is one of those messy main characters that you absolutely adore from the beginning. She is spending her every waking moment living for her new baby, Bowie. New mom's get it! Barely a moment to take care of herself, she happens upon an engagement ring hidden in her boyfriend's things and she knows that finally, the moment he proposes is approaching. Things are looking fantastic, but when the "proposal" turns in to the absolute opposite, her life is upended.
With nowhere to turn but to tuck tail and head home to her mom and step-father with Bowie in tow, she finds a new opportunity. They have a rental property that she knows she can turn into something beautiful. It is a big MESS though and there is a lot of work to be done. Luckily, her mom's neighbor, River is just the person to help her fix up the place. It doesn't hurt that he is not only lovely to look at, but he treats her wholly different than any man she has ever met. He is kind and sweet, fully enjoying her strange tendencies.
This book was adorable! Enough laugh out loud moments to really make an impression as an author I cannot wait for more from. Aside from the quirky characters, the sugary sweet potential romance, and the plethora of funny banter, this book packs an emotional punch. Tears were shed, folks!!
If you want a book that you CANNOT put down, one that makes you cheer for the characters, one that has you fist pumping one moment, laughing the next, and turning around and sobbing the next, this is the book for you. I loved every minute of it.
I cannot recommend the audio book more. Kelli Tager voiced these beautiful and zany characters so perfectly.

This is a story of a new mom on a quest to give her child the perfect family. After the father of her child breaks up with her, Hannah returns to her parents home. As she helps set up their AirBnb, with the help of River, their sexy neighbour, they start to feel hard for each other. And for a while, all seems perfect in Hannah's life. Expect, River is a technophone and disappears for days without any communication and her Airbnb venture keeps running into hilarious problems. Not to mention, her parents have absolutely no sense of boundaries and her baby daddy finally realises the mistake of letting her go too little, too late.
Hannah's POV as a new mom who desperately needs the support of a village is someone I could relate to, so it made listening to this romcom audiobook extremely entertaining. This story will make you chuckle and pull at your heartstrings. As Hannah works through setting up a business, rebonding with her parents, setting boundaries with her baby daddy and fighting for a healthy relationship with River, a beautiful blended family comes together.
Oh and yes, this is a spicy book
spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5

3 Stars Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair is a cute small town romance/women’s fiction about a single mom who moves in with her parents and infant son after her boyfriend breaks up with her the night she thought he’d propose. Without a job after being illegally fired for refusing to work on maternity leave, Hannah is determined to at least get her mom and stepfather’s income settled from their fixer upper rental. Needing some serious repairs, she hired their neighbor, River, to be the contractor on the renovation. River is the complete opposite of her ex: he left his corporate job to head to the mountains, practices yoga, has a man bun, and doesn’t have a cell phone.
This felt more like women’s fiction than romance since the focus was more on Hannah’s character development and journey than her relationships with her ex and River. I wasn’t a fan of the lack of communication between Hannah and River, and some of the side characters drove me crazy too. Almost DNFed this around 60%, but decided to keep going. The ending was nice but overall this wasn’t my fave read.

Hannah Tate is a new mom to 3 month old Bowie. She finds a ring and thinks her baby daddy is going to propose but in reality he’s dumping her. Hannah soon finds herself living with her mom and step dad and working to fix up their Airbnb and make it habitable. Hot next door neighbor and contractor River helps with the construction and makes Hannah feel hopeful about love again.
Cute story! I liked the narrator, she is great at using different accents for different characters.
Thank you to NetGalley, Dreamscape Media and Laura Piper Lee for the ALC for my honest review.

Expecting a proposal from her baby daddy at a romantic dinner, Hannah is shocked when Killian dumps her instead. Taking baby Bowie away, she returns to her parent's place and takes on the job of helping them convert their cabin into a vacation rental property. Cue carpenter River who lives next door....in a treehouse! River might be just the distraction Hannah needs from her current situation.
Aside from the small town, single mum love story in this book, I really enjoyed the way family dynamics came into play and were sorted through to reach a satisfactory conclusion. The audio was masterfully done and had me cheering on our main characters until the very end. This sweet story will be one I'll remember and recommend wholeheartedly.

Cons:
I wish it was dual POV, it would have been nice to see more of River’s inner workings.
Damn “IV Needles” strike again. For the love of all that is holy THEY ARE CATHETERS.
Both of these cons are just my preferences and don’t make an impact on rating.

Quick Summary: A modern day story about family, love after heartbreak, and reconciliation
My Review: Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair by Laura Piper Lee is a contemporary novel that presents as a standalone read. It touches on life after giving birth, conscious co parenting, single parenthood, family dysfunction, found family, LGBTQIA, and family health and wellness issues.
About the Book: When Hannah Tate accidentally stumbles upon a ring that's just her size, she believes that her partner and baby's daddy will finally propose. When things take a turn and don't quite go as planned, she has to make some major life decisions. She soon discovers a new sense of self, and she truly learns what really matters in life.
My Final Say: This story was so much more than I expected. I expected humor and a lighthearted air. What I got was love, acceptance, forgiveness, and growth. By the end of the story, all wrongs were made right. I will say that this story was larger than the featured couple. It was about friends, family, lovers, and community all rolled up into one.
Other: There was one aspect to the story that I grappled with. It was mentioned a few times throughout, but it didn't really serve a purpose in the scheme of things. Based on the exhibited character tendencies, it just didn't come across as authentic, rather it came across as a PC stance. It did not detract from the story, yet it did make me wonder why it was included.

Thanks to the author, to the publisher (Dreamscape Media), and to NetGalley for granting access to an audio ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review. I am appreciative for the opportunity. The words I have voluntarily shared are my own.

Might be an outlier with this one but I just didn’t enjoy it. I loved everything about the premise but the characters left SO MUCH to be desired. It was peak millennial cringe (and I say this as a millennial). I was genuinely rooting for Hannah but of the book but I think it was mostly for Bowie’s sake. I didn’t care for River. He was a big man baby who couldn’t talk about his feelings to save his life.
So many cliches packed into this book and not in a fun way. I wish I had better things to say but unfortunately this one just wasn’t for me.

Hannah Tate's life unravels in a matter of days: a new mom grappling with the challenges of adulting, she loses her job for refusing to work while on maternity leave, only to face a breakup with her boyfriend and child's father days later.
Hannah seeks refuge in her parents' Airbnb listing, oblivious to the fact that it's an old taxidermy shop in need of significant work. She finds purpose when tasked with collaborating on the property's renovation alongside River, the hot, recluse, carpenter living in a treehouse nextdoor. The instant attraction between Hannah and River was obvious, though their communication and maturity levels raised some red flags.
While I appreciate a quirky, hot mess FMC, Hannah's character felt desperate and whiny causing her to come across as immature. River's character is accurately described by other characters as a "man-baby," leaving me wanting more depth and understanding of his character. Writing this book in dual POV might have provided a better understanding of his motivations and actions. We are provided with brief glimpses into what has lead him to his current lifestyle, but I believe learning more about his story would have significantly improved my understanding of him.
Despite my reservations about the character development, I enjoyed the overall story.
Kelli Tager's narration deserves recognition for bringing Hannah's character to life. She expertly delivered the emotion and humour.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC.

Hannah faces unexpected challenges when her life plans crumble following a separation from her partner. Navigating newfound single motherhood, she strives to find stability and mend the fragments of her upturned life. While the story failed to completely captivate me, preventing a deep connection with the characters, it still unfolds as an engaging narrative.
The audiobook was a great bonus, it made the read easier. The narrator did an excellent job overall.
3.5/5 | Would definitely recommend to give it a try!

Besides an overuse of foul language at the beginning of the book, I liked it! The way the writer put this together made me feel the MC's emotions throughout the book. The plot was original, which I appreciate. The narrator was top-notch!
