I decided to pick up this sequel because I enjoyed the first book. I figured I would see what the characters were up to. However, I am not really sure this sequel needed to be made. I enjoyed the addition of Daisy Ann especially because it gave more of a backstory on Amber, which I found really intriguing. But for the most part I didn't really care what happened to them in the end.
I ended up putting the book down for a while because I could not comprehend some of the decisions the characters were making. I was getting irrational angry with them. I know that a lot of characters in a thriller make dumb decisions but these were just over the top.
I also felt that the conclusion of the book was so rushed. I almost missed how one of the plot lines was resolved because it was basically a sentence or two.
All in all I think the first one is a lot better and there are other books to spend your time with.
*Thank you to NetGalley, Liv Constantine, and Random House Publishing Group for sending me an ARC to review. As always, all thoughts are my own.*

I finally read the sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish. Thankfully you do not have to reread the book in order to understand and enjoy this one. There’s enough backstory to jog your memory.
This was a well done sequel. Amber is still the most annoying character ever. Most of the characters in this series are just awful. I did like the addition of Daisy Ann and her revenge fueled plot line. Oh and the twists at the end just kept coming. I liked this one a little more than the first.

This book was not good, which is really unfortunate because I loved the first one.
Thank you Net Galley & to the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

"The Next Mrs. Parrish" by Liv Constantine is going to be on your TBR if you read the first one but should it be? This was not really a story begging for a sequel. It is well written and paced but after so much time perhaps just write a new story? This one was fine but unnecessary.

I’ll definitely recommend this book to everybody! The story was amazing and written very well! The story was unpredictable and it made it that much more enjoyable to read because I was all over the place.

The Next Mrs. Parrish was a satisfying and twisty sequel that delivered exactly what I hoped for. It did a great job refreshing my memory of The Last Mrs. Parrish without slowing the pace, making it easy to jump back into the world of Daphne, Amber, and Jackson. I’ve always loved a good domestic thriller, and this one hit all the right notes—manipulation, tension, secrets, and shifting alliances. It was the perfect read to kick off my summer TBR and had me turning pages late into the night. Fans of the first book won’t be disappointed.

The Next Mrs. Parrish had my BLOOD BOILING!!!
Baby, there were parts of this book that pulled on my heartstrings, had me sick to my stomach, and literally screaming at Daphne. I understood her love for her children, but damn girl, I was scared she was going end up at the bottom of the ocean.
Daisy Ann. That's all I have to say on her.
Amber - yep. Earned it.
Jackson - Ditto. You did too.
Now, this ending? I don't think I could stomach another set of twists and turns that skyrockets my blood pressure to find out what happens next. But I am lowkey on the excited side that somebody is getting their just dues.
This book really plays with your perception and emotions. It shows you exactly what you need to see, even in the POVs of Daphne and Daisy Ann, you see the direct impact of both Amber and Jackson's decisions. You see in real time how it affects everyone involved.

This book absolutely didn't need to be written. I LOVED the first book, but this one was just boring and a waste of time.

Highly recommend this book, amazing story, fantastically told and the characters are rich and loathsome!

The Next Mrs. Parrish is a juicy, drama-filled follow-up to The Last Mrs. Parrish, but it doesn’t quite pack the same punch. The story moves quickly and has plenty of twists, but some feel a bit over-the-top or too convenient. Amber, who was so cunning and layered in the first book, feels more one-note here. She’s still manipulative and ruthless, but her actions start to feel repetitive, and we don’t get much new insight into what drives her. It’s like she’s stuck in villain mode with no real growth or complexity.
That said, it’s still fun to watch her schemes unfold, even if you’re rolling your eyes a little. The plot leans heavily into soap opera territory, which isn’t a bad thing if you’re in the mood for something dramatic and escapist. Overall, it’s entertaining and easy to fly through, but it doesn’t leave the same impression as the first round with the Parrishes.

Liv Constantine is back with another suspenseful tale in The Next Mrs. Parrish. Told through multiple perspectives, this sequel takes its time unraveling the layers of the story, leading to a compelling final reveal. If you enjoy a slow-burn thriller, this one is worth checking out.

Thank you Netgally for a copy in exchange for an honest review! I was stoked for the second novel of The Last Mrs. Parrish as I was obsessed! So many unpredictable twists, once again made for this just as exciting as the first!

I really enjoyed picking up the story.. I could not predict where it was going next! It was a quick read and I would definitely read the sequel.

The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine had me hooked from the start, but I have to admit, I didn’t have the intense love for it that I expected. The suspense is definitely there, and the plot twists keep you on your toes, but I found myself struggling to connect with the three main characters.
Amber, Daphne, and the new character seeking revenge are all well-written, but I couldn’t help feeling like there was always something keeping me at arm’s length from fully empathizing with any of them. Amber’s manipulative nature makes her an interesting character, but her motivations often felt too calculated, making it hard to feel any real connection. Daphne, on the other hand, made choices throughout the book that just frustrated me to no end. I found myself wondering why she couldn’t see what was right in front of her, and it was hard not to get frustrated with her decisions, especially considering everything she’d already been through.
That said, I still enjoyed the book overall. It’s a very solid sequel and kept me turning pages, but I didn’t love it the way I hoped I would. The tension between the characters is compelling, and there are definitely moments of brilliance, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was waiting for something to make the story click for me emotionally. I appreciated the suspense and the darker themes of revenge and betrayal, but I couldn’t quite find myself deeply invested in the outcome.
All in all, The Next Mrs. Parrish is a strong follow-up to The Last Mrs. Parrish. It’s full of twists and turns, and while I didn’t love it, I definitely enjoyed it and found it to be a gripping read. If you loved the first book, you’ll likely enjoy this one too, but be prepared for a bit of frustration along the way, especially with Daphne’s choices.

Great second book! Wasn’t sure how the author would build off of the first book but the twists and turns caught me by surprise! Really enjoyed reading it.

I really wanted to enjoy this one but I felt like it just wasn't as great as great as the first. It just wasn't a win for me. I finished it but by the end I just didn't care that much about the characters. Unbelievable and I felt like right off the bat seemed unrealistic with the therapists advice to go to see her crazy ex husband and let her daughters spend time with him.

I didn’t really connect with any of the three main female characters and therefore didn’t really get into the book. The audiobook was well done and I enjoyed that there was multiple narrators.

The plot here was so well done, binge worthy for a book and very creative.
The ending was chef's kiss! I was completely satisfied. Love this author and this series!

Mystery/Suspense
In the sequel to Constantine's wildly successful novel The Last Mrs. Parrish, we see how Amber and Daphne's lives have now switched. Amber has become the next Mrs. Jackson Parrish. From the outside, her life is a dream, just like she thought Daphne's was when she schemed to replace her. She wants out, but Jackson won't let her go. She needs a new plan.
Daphne has escaped her life with Jackson and is living a quiet more secluded life with her daughters. When Jackson is released from prison one of the daughters runs away and insists on spending time with Jackson. Daphne has no choice but to agree to one summer, but once Jackson gets them near, he has nefarious plans for all of them.
It's hard not to get frustrated with Daphne's choices. I think this was a very solid sequel and I liked it, I just didn't love it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for my ARC of this novel.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an advance readers copy! I enjoy this author and loved this book! The writing and storytelling kept me hooked and I couldn't put this down. Liv Constantine does an incredible job of building character development and keeping every chapter a page turner. A great series to dive into to, highly recommend!
