This book picks up where the Next Mrs.Parrish left off. There are many twists and turns and manipulations and betrayals throughout the whole story.. This is a great psychological domestic thriller that you do not want to miss.
Highly recommend….

This is a little above my students at the middle school level, but I would recommend this, and the previous, book to friends! I liked that we got resolution a bit more than the first novel and a sense of justice! It was nice to have lengthier sections of Daphne standing up for herself!

If you have anxiety, best take your meds because this book is gonna get you. I admit that half way through my poor Apple Watch thought I was working out since my heart rate was so high! While I loved Daphne the last book she was driving me out of control with “WTF” this time. Putting your children’s wants and needs in front of your own but disregarding a license professional….. girl!
Jackson is one of my favorite characters to hate and add in Amber.
I just love a revenge story that ends up with all those you loathe getting their own story arch that finally lowers your heart rate.

Highly recommend reading the “short” At First Shot! More detail there about a few of the relationships Amber made in her past (and some of her history).

Jackson Parrish has remarried (Amber) and they have a son, Jax. Still living in the original house that Daphne and Jackson shared in Bishop’s Harbor - their marriage is one of convenience. Jackson is serving time for tax fraud and is due to be released in a few months. He has a plan for how to take care of himself and his family after his release.

Daphne lives in California with her two girls (Lu and Bella) and her Mom. She’s thrilled that she and her Mom have been able to reconnect after Jackson drove a wedge between them. However, now that the girls are older they’ve been asking more and more questions about Jackson, his wife, and their half brother. So much so that Daphne goes against her better judgement and agrees to spend two weeks in Bishops Harbor so the girls can rekindle their relationship with their father.

As expected, Jackson (mostly) abides by the boundaries Daphne has set, but that doesn’t last for very long. He and Amber concoct a plan that puts Daphne in questionable light as a mother and her girls are temporarily put in Jackson’s custody. His ability to weave a story, pay off people with power, and intimidate the rest shines through.

Can Daphne regain custody of her girls before it’s too late? How will Amber fare while in the crossfire?

It has been years since I read the first one, but I really liked it, so when I heard a sequel was coming out, I was more than a little excited to jump back on the crazy train and continue this bonkers story.

Even though I didn’t necessarily remember all the plot points of the first book, the gist of the story came back to me pretty quickly.

I don’t want to say too much with regards to the plot because it is a sequel, but I will say that I really enjoyed it. I liked seeing all the threads come together.

I’ve read most of this author duo’s books and really enjoyed them. They sure know how to write page turning thrillers!

The ending was something else and now I’m longing for a third one!

I have been eagerly awaiting this novel from the moment I heard it was being written because I LOVED the first one so much, and The Last Mrs. Parrish didn't disappoint. The novel picks up with Daphne and her daughters trying to adjust to their new lives without Jackson, but of course they eventually return and chaos ensues. Liv Constantine writes the most detestable villains ever, and this next installment did not disappoint at all. Overall, impossible to put down.

The Last Mrs. Parrish was a five star read for me. It pulled me out of a major reading slump. Naturally, I was dying to read The Next Mrs. Parrish.

Unfortunately, this is a sophomore slump. The characters make confusing choices. The twists are either obvious or lackluster. (Though you'll see it coming, one twist is very interesting.) The storylines feel repetitive. Big moments are rushed through or just completely watered down.

The Last Mrs. Parrish worked because it felt like the writer either experienced living in these upscale communities or heavily researched it. The story was grounded in reality. But it seemed like little research was done when elevating the sequel to include the FBI and the legal system.

I was really looking forward to reading this sequel since the original was so good and I was not left disappointed. Jackson is up to no good after a stint in prison he decides he wants to get Daphne and his family back. Is he the changed man he claims to be? Jacksons new wife Amber is also up to her conniving ways and her past makes a come back. This book was filled with drama and you never know what will happen next. I enjoyed every thrill turning page. Thank you netgalley for the arc

The Next Mrs. Parrish was a solid 4 stars. It was fun to dive back into the lives of the rich and ridiculous. You will want to read The Last Mrs. Parrish and The Last Shot before reading this one. Amber and Jackson are the characters you love to hate and are still up to no good with new plans of deception. Daphne is navigating divorced and single mom life with her girls who were protected from the truth about their father. Desperate to make her girls happy she agrees to go back for the summer so they can see their father, not ready to trust Jackson’s claims of being a changed man, but with no idea of the trouble that awaits. Full of family drama, greed, revenge, and twists you won’t see coming, Liv Constantine does it again.

Thank you to netfalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was super excited to read this sequel, after recently reading the original. I absolutely loved the original, but this one fell a little flat for me. It was almost TOO much cat and mouse to keep track of and I didn’t love how Daphne went back to Jackson at all.

I did like how both Jackson and Amber finally got what they deserved and that Daphne was finally free in the end, but overall the plot was a bit all over the place for me on this one.

The Next Mrs. Parrish is told through three different characters all intertwined.
Daphne is trying to put the pieces back together of her life after finally leaving her abusive husband. However, after Jackson is released from jail, the kids want to reconnect with their dad. Amber is married to Jackson but has a new scheme to get rich and out of this marriage. Daisy who has been burned by Amber has made it her mission to seek justice for the hurt Amber has caused their family. This book was a fast paced thriller of manipulation and those seeking justice!

Excellent read!
Many, many twists and turns. There were several times my husband asked me what was wrong because I would audibly gasp.
The characters are well developed which make it easy to flow through this book fairly quickly. The plot and story line kept me intrigued and invested.
I do think I liked the first book better but this one is definitely worth reading and finishes up the story line.
Kudos to the author for a five star book!

I'm definitely a fan of Liv Constantine and have read all of her other books. This is another good read but it's definitely more drama/domestic suspense. I didn't love it as there were not any big reveals and a lot of characters to keep track of in the double plot lines. I think it's a good sequel but I preferred the first one more. I will definitely recommend this for fans of Constantine and those that have read the first book. Overall a good read that kept me interested. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

LOVED this second book in the series! There was so much I wanted to know more about and didn’t want the story to end after the first, and this really brought more complexity and depth to their story. Liv did a good job giving a glimpse into what it’s like in an abusive relationship navigating the relationships with others (the kids, family, friends, even authorities). I have yet to read the prequel, so that’s up next!

I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish so I was very excited to see a sequel by Liv Constantine. Amber, a con woman and the present Mrs. Parrish, is back together along with Daphne, the ex Mrs. Parrish, who has fled from abuse to California with her daughters. When her older daughter Tallulah desperately wants to reconnect with her dad, the first Mrs. Parrish returns to the east coast with her family. Daisy Ann, the daughter of Amber’s first husband, adds a whole new layer to the story which is told in alternating points of view from all three women. The authors do a great job of building suspense and interweaving the three storylines. Though some of the characters, like Jackson Parrish, are despicable, they provide necessary contrast to the heroines. I could not put this book down. It is a sequel but works fine as a standalone. I think it is one of the best books I will read this year. I thank NetGalley and Bantam Books for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Thank you Publishers and NetGalley for an ARC of The Next Mrs. Parrish!

We're back following conwoman Amber as she plots against Jackson who is currently incarcerated. Daphne is happy across the US with her and Jackson's two daughters, but the oldest misses her dad and is starting to act out. Reluctantly, Daphne makes the trip back to CT with the girls to reunite the girls with Jackson. But Jackson and Amber have their own agenda and within days of Daphne's arrival, all hell breaks loose. We are also reintroduced to Daisy Ann who is still wanting justice for her father, who Amber murdered. She gets tangled in this web of con and hurt.

A fast-paced, page turner, which at times was heartbreaking, we follow these three as they all fight for their own form of justice.

Highly recommend.

Spoiler: The legal scenario depicted in this book was incredibly thought out, researched, and plausible. As an attorney who practices this area of law, it was almost too hard to read because of the truth of how these situations can play out and the timelines of the events involved. Serious kudos to the authors here.

Is Daisy Ann going to destroy her family with her obsession over her father’s death/murder? Is Amber finally going to get her comeuppance or is she going to wreak havoc on Daisy Ann and Jackson’s lives? Is Daphne going to get sucked into the lies, abuse and deceit of her ex-husband to save her children? Will Jackson be out manipulated? What a roller coaster of a ride! The character development and twists and turns left me on the edge of my seat.

“Charm is making the person you’re talking to feel like the only person in the room.”

Picking up where The Next Mrs. Parrish left off, this story follows Daphne Parrish who has moved across the country after divorcing her abusive and manipulative husband, Jackson, and Amber Parrish, the equally manipulative and sociopathic new wife. We are also introduced to Daisy Ann Briscoe who is linked to the trio through Amber’s past transgressions.

There are so many twists and turns and manipulations and betrayals throughout the whole story, the reader may need charts and graphs to remember all the lies and backstabbing. This book has no shortage of WTF moments. This is a great psychological domestic thriller that will keep your eyes scanning faster and faster to keep up with the action.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bantam Books for this advanced reader’s copy.
