Thank you so much for this eARC! Although I did not enjoy this one as much as the first book I still devoured it and highly recommend!!
You know those old episodes of Maury and Jerry Springer? They would bring everyone on stage and have this big buildup and think they’re about to drop a bombshell, then suddenly cut to a commercial break. Then they’d come back and do it again. And again. Then suddenly with only 10 minutes left in the episode, you find out the people on stage actually all know each other and every secret they ever had would be thrown at you all at once? Very much what this series reminded me of. Somewhat intriguing, but hard to figure out what the hell is going on. Entertaining, but no real substance.
In all seriousness, I really want to love these books! I read the first in the series, The Last Mrs. Parrish, a couple years ago and had very mixed feelings. I decided to go in to this one with an open mind and was instead just reminded of why I didn’t like the first. A completely unrealistic story with choppy writing and the desire to throw in so many plot twists before the book ends that they end up losing their punch because there are just. so. many. of them. Couple that with unlikeable characters who all need mental health evaluations and I found myself really struggling to get through this one.
If scandal and deceit with truly insane characters is your thing, I think you’d like this one. If you like to read psychological thrillers that aren’t absolutely ridiculous, I’d give this one a pass.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
WOW. What a rollercoaster. I was a bit perplexed at the new characters in the beginning, but those twists they brought were fantastic. I had a hard time putting this one down!
This is such an entertaining thriller that brings back some truly awful characters and lets them be even more terrible.
I honestly didn't remember all the specifics of the first book, but knew it was an entertaining novel that I had finished in one sitting. This sequel did not disappoint and might have even been better than the first. It's almost impossible to stop reading this once you start and I enjoyed how the short chapters switched between the POVs of the three main characters.
Very fun and very, very over the top. The perfect book to have in your summer travel bag.
Many thanks to Random House and NetGalley for providing the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Get ready to jump back into the wealthy, scheming world of Jackson and Amber Parrish. This sequel picks up where the first book left off, and readers are in for more of Jackson’s plotting, Amber’s greedy tricks, and Daphne being drawn into their world again. More of Amber’s past is revealed through her connection with another character.
Without giving any spoilers for either book, I was so excited to hear that there would be a sequel and even more excited to receive an early copy. Though it didn’t quite meet the same jaw dropping and twisted level of the first book, I’d rate it 4.5 stars. It was a great continuation of the characters’ stories but didn’t pack the same punch as the first book. However, it was fun to return to the same book world and experience a very satisfying ending to the series. If you enjoyed the first book, you should definitely pick this one up!
Thank you to author duo Liv Constantine and Random House for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
If you thought you couldn't dislike Amber more, you couldn't be more wrong. What a tangled web this book is, but overall very entertaining read. Before reading. I would definitely recommend brushing up on the first two books that follow this one as there's a lot of details from both that were hard to recollect. I think the story pieced together nicely and has a satisfying ending.
This book was just ok for me. Amber's and Jackson's characters are just so unlikeable. The story was entertaining. 3 stars.
"The Next Mrs. Parrish" takes you on a wild ride with Amber Patterson Parrish and her socialite struggles. In this follow-up to "The Last Mrs. Parrish," get ready for suspense, revenge, and a rollercoaster of alliances. The author doesn't hold back on the drama, making you question who's trustworthy and who's not. The characters' relationships are like a maze, and just when you think you've figured it out, bam, there's a shocking twist! It's a high-stakes game with lots of unexpected turns. The book keeps you hooked until the last page, making you rethink everything about trust and betrayal. Overall, a thrilling read that'll keep you on your toes in the crazy world of the Parrish crew!
5 stars out of 5!
Wow, this was such an awesome read. Definitely my favorite read of 2024 so far! The writing was flawless and really had me hooked from the beginning. I did not want to put this book down, it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I also want to say, I have never hated a character more than I hated Amber. She was infuriating and just a terrible person. Jackson wasn't much better either. I did not read the first book in the series but I think this could be read as a standalone but now I am going back to read book 1. Overall, I would highly highly recommend reading this fast paced thriller!
In The Next Mrs. Parrish, We see that Daphne has moved with her girls to California and started their lives over. But then her oldest daughter ended up running away to meet up with her estranged father. Daphne ends up agreeing to go back to Connecticut so the girls can see their father again. Their father, Jackson, is fresh out of prison for tax evasion and still married to his current wife Amber. Amber ends up running into an enemy she once had. Everything eventually is tied together but this was a wild ride! I don't want to give too much away but wow this book has so many moving pieces to it.
Thank you Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Received an early copy thanks to Netgalley! What an incredible opportunity it was to finish a GREAT series. Although, I do hope it isn't, "the end."
The way Lynne and Valerie (together, Liv) write paints a clear picture in your head as if it's a movie and no a book. Without spoiling the book, I can say we have beautiful closure. Each character with their own deserved "ending." One particular character gets a scene akin to Tony Soprano himself, a "will they or won't they" fade to black ending. Any reader can assume the ending, but Lynne and Valerie could definitely continue that character if we had another book.
The last Mrs. Parrish was my favorite book of 2018 and this sequel did not disappoint. I was so excited to receive an ARC from Netgalley and the publisher.
After Jackson Parrish is released from prison for tax fraud, Amber wants out and Daphne gets lured back to Connecticut from California, where she has been living peacefully with her girls and her mother. We also have the addition of a new narrator, Daisy Ann, a firecracker rich lady from Dallas. But how is Daisy Ann connected to the story? That is one of the twists I absolutely was unprepared for and it was soooo good!!
Make sure you buckle up for this crazy ride!!!
Liv Constantine did it again! I was so excited to see that there is sequel to the Last Mrs Parrish. I was hooked from the first page of The Next Mrs Parrish. I found myself not being able to put down the book to see what Jackson and Amber were up to. I loved the addition of Daisy Anne and how they were all connected. The ending was perfect and I can't wait to suggest this book to everyone. This series will always be one of my favorites!
WOW!
***possible spoilers**
If you thought The Last Mrs. Parrish was twisty -- buckle up. The women we love to hate is back.
I had listened to most of the prequel, and once I realized Daisy Ann was the daughter, I was deeply intrigued as to how all the characters were going to tie together. This book grabs you from the get go and refuses to let go. I rooted hard for Daphne, knowing her and Daisy Ann had to come out on top in this story. Daisy Ann doesn't start out as the most likeable character.
I don't always love the descriptions of lavish parties/shopping sprees/outfits, but they aren't overdone in this one. I FLEW through the last 35% off this book because literally every other chapter ended on a new twist. (and while I knew the diamonds hadn't been legally obtained, I wanted a little more about where they had come from!)

Finished this late into the night like I did the last Mrs. Parrish. I just couldn't put it down in the second half. I thought I saw the twists coming and had no idea in most cases. For readers that enjoyed the Last Mrs. Parrish, you will love this one too!
Thank you Netgalley for the Advanced Reader's Copy of The Next Mrs. Parrish. The first book, The Last Mrs. Parrish has been on my top 10 books of all time. The Next Mrs. Parrish is very captivating with all the twists and turns. Liv Constantine keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole book. Great, fast-paced read. I highly recommend.
Liv Constantine’s books are always entertaining. I was happy to be thrust back into the world of Amber, Jackson and Daphne. I was satisfied with the ending of the book..All in all this book is a fast and satisfying read. Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.
The part 2 I didn't know I wanted! When I saw this book was being released, I knew I had I read it. As much as I wanted Daph to continue living life away from Jackson and have her happy every after, I knew I'd be in for a wild ride. There's so much to say, but I don't want to spoil anything. I read this over a weekend and wish I would have savored it a bit more.
Thank you for allowing me to read this early! I loved this more than the first one. It was't as predictable as some other books I've recently read. It kept me on my toes and I was rooting for Daph the whole way through. It was confusing at first when Dasiy Ann was introduced, but I am more than pleased with the way things played out.
The second book was just as good as the first! Daphne/Amber/Jacksons story continues to twist and turn as a few new characters are added to the mix. The storyline keeps you guessing throughout and spoiler alert…everyone gets what they deserve in the end.
Thanks to NetGalley and Liv Constantine for providing this pre-released book for me to read and review!
I just reviewed The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine. #TheNextMrsParrish #NetGalley
Title: Captivating and Brilliant Authors!
Rating: ★★★★★
Review:
The Constantine sisters are undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with in the literary world. Their unique writing style, coupled with their ability to keep readers hooked from start to finish, is a testament to their talent as authors.
Their storytelling abilities are nothing short of brilliant, and I find myself completely immersed in all of their narratives. Each twist and turn keeps me on the edge of my seat, eagerly turning the pages to uncover what will happen next.
What I truly admire about the Constantine sisters is their ability to create complex and multi-dimensional characters. Every protagonist and antagonist felt so real, with their own flaws, strengths, and secrets. It was impossible not to become emotionally invested in their journeys, rooting for some and despising others.
Furthermore, their ability to craft intricate and suspenseful plots is remarkable. The Constantine sisters have a knack for weaving together intricate threads of mystery, deception, and intrigue that constantly keep me guessing.
In conclusion, the Constantine sisters as a duo are absolute geniuses. If you're a fan of suspenseful and gripping thrillers, I highly recommend picking up any book written by these incredible authors. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
I devoured the first book, The Last Mrs. Parrish, when it came out a few years ago. It was twisty, and turny and full of rich people who do bad things. The prequel novella, The First Shot, was OK...but was it necessary? Did we need more backstory on the insufferable and morally corrupt Amber? Well, I guess we did because, flash forward to four years after that novella, and Amber is back. And she is still the (cue Jean Ralphio meme) WORST. I enjoyed The Next Mrs. Parrish, though it wasn't as much of a pulpy plot as the first, and the addition of the new character, Daisy, was a little tedious but ultimately paid off. Sorry this review is super vague, but I wanted to keep it spoiler free for the first two books. Thank you Random House Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC for my honest review.
