This book is the perfect example of a second book being written when it just really shouldn’t be.
The writing wasn’t nearly as good as the first, and the dialogue was so cringy at times I had to skim over it.
Also, I feel like this story got us nowhere and I wish all of the characters would have been left where they were.
I so wish I could say that I loved it, but I didn’t.
Loved the first book though.
Thank you Netgalley and Bantam for the ARC.

I was excited to continue this story and I wasn’t disappointed. Although the first book kept me reading, there were a few moments of this book where I needed to push through, particularly around the beach scene. Overall, I really enjoyed the story. The ending was not what I was expecting, but holy moly, I can’t I wasn’t somewhat satisfied with the turn of events. Solid second book!

The Last Mrs. Parrish is one of the first books that got me into thrillers and I will never hesitate to recommend it.
I wishhh the same could be said for the sequel, but it was a struggle to get through The Next Mrs. Parrish. This book picks up with Amber, Daphne, and incarcerated Jackson while also introducing Daisy Ann. Each character has their own motivations, but for me they didn’t seem like logical follow ups to the original story. It felt like an attempt to redo much of what book one did, which just seemed forced.
Daisy Ann was a random addition to the story and I didn’t know enough about her to really care what she was doing and how she was involved. As a result, I wasn’t really invested in her parts of the book and found them a bit hard to follow.
Much of my respect for the ways Amber and Daphne tried to out-manipulate one another in the first book was lost as they seemed to lose their exciting cattiness.
This book was so drawn out and completely fell flat for me.

Review of The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine
I would read anything this writing duo puts out, but I was extremely excited to get my hands on this one. I was really anticipating to see the Parrish story continue and this one did not let me down. I loved revisiting the old characters, including the original Mrs Parish, who is one of my favorites, but I also really enjoyed the introduction of new characters in this one. It had a very satisfying ending. If you haven’t read these books, you should definitely get them.
Synopsis:
Amber Patterson Parrish has come a long way. Hard work and immaculate planning turned her from invisible wallflower to prominent socialite, though there have been bumps along the way. Less than a year after her husband Jackson’s tax-evasion scandal, Amber reigns supreme over the Bishops Harbor community. But with Jackson being released from prison, Amber’s free time—and money—is vanishing.
Meanwhile, Daphne Parrish left Bishops Harbor after her divorce from Jackson, swearing she would never go back. But when one of her daughters runs away from home, desperate to see her father, Daphne agrees to return for the summer for their daughters’ sake. Jackson swears he’s a changed man, but Daphne knows all too well that he can’t be trusted.
When a ghost from Amber’s past emerges looking for revenge, these three figures find unlikely allies in one another. But who is playing who? When all is said and done, they’ll have to fight tooth and nail for everything they have left in this zero-sum game

A good sequel to the original. I liked it and read it in record time. Would recommend this author. Her books are always fun. Can’t wait for the next one.

Having read the Last Mrs. Parrish I was very excited to hear about the newest selection from Liv Constantine. I have enjoyed many of the books from this writing duo. While I enjoyed this book, it was not as good as the first Mrs. Parrish book. As a stand alone it would probably have been less enjoyable, but having previously read about these characters; Daphne and Amber, I was invested in their stories. The plot was a little far-fetched for me. However, it was good to see Amber get her comeuppance. A new character was introduced early and her role quickly emerged and made sense. If you enjoyed the Last Mrs. Parrish you will probably enjoy seeing where these characters are now. If you haven't read the first book, I would probably skip this as a stand alone read.

Constantine is back with another thrilling book! In this gripping sequel, we meet Amber, Daphne, and Daisy Ann—three fascinating characters you won't forget.
Amber is cunning and super confident, Daphne is trying to move on from her past, and Daisy Ann is on a mission to get justice for her late father. Their stories intertwine in the most unexpected and brilliant ways. The plot is creative and you won't be able to put it down. The ending ties together perfectly - a great summer read!

This one was sneaky! Filled with deception, lies and gaslighting. Everyone seems to be two steps ahead of everyone else in so many conniving and greedy plans. But greed doesn't always pay in the ways we want it to.
The Next Mrs. Parrish was all that you expect it to be. It was anxiety inducing. Especially when a mom is making decisions that can put her in danger when her ulimate goal is to keep her kids safe.
As far as pyschological thrillers go, this one checks all the boxes. A dad in jail. A mom moving far away to keep her kids safe. The new wife playing the long game so that she can make it rich.

This was a worthy sequel, but not quite as interesting as the first one. I still enjoyed the characters, but just wasn’t quite as invested with this one. The storyline was interesting, and there were surprises along the way, I just felt it was a bit slow. I still recommend to those that loved the first one!

I had a harder time with this one than I would have thought. I enjoyed book 1 but it took me a lot longer to get into this one. I think there was just a little too much going on from the jump. We are getting 3 different women's POVs and until almost halfway through the book do not really understand how they are connected. Somehow Audrey and Jackson were worse in this one than the last one- just straight up despicable people. I did like getting glimpses into Audrey's past but man it was so much worse than I could have thought. I also don't like it when it is so unclear what is happening that there is a full rundown at the end- I feel like you should be able to pick up on more throughout the book.
Daphne- Her oldest daughter is confused and angry as to why she can't be in her dad's life. Daphne is convinced to go back East for the summer so that Tallulah can get to hang out with her dad. Of course s*it hits the fan when they get there. I did enjoy reading the challenges that Daphne was facing with trying to protect her children without making them hate their dad.
Audrey- Has moved on with her life. She is focusing on the next con. She does not anticipate Jackson to get out of jail when he does. She does not anticipate him catching on to her con or being willing to help her with it. But of course he has aces up his sleeve- is she prepared for them though?
Daisy- Her dad was killed a few years ago by a younger woman. When Daisy runs into said woman at a trunk show for her jewelry line all bets are off. Daisy will stop at nothing to get this woman arrested for the crimes she committed.
This wasn't terrible but also not my fave. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I did not like this one as much as The First Mrs Parrish. The main character was hard to root for in this book, making it a 3/5 for me.

I loooved the Last Mrs Parrish but didn't feel like there needed to be a sequel. I was excited to see this one pop up and was really looking forward to reading it and seeing where everyone ended up. I thought Daphne in this sequel needed a swift kick in the butt however. She fell right back into victim mode and lost all of her badass - ness from the first book. I actually really liked the addition of Daisy Ann this time around but that didn't really distract me from the annoyance I felt toward Daphne.
Not my favorite sequel

The Next Mrs. Parrish continues the story of Daphne and Amber as they deal with each other and the abusive and manipulative Mr. Parrish. It also introduces a third character whose story becomes intertwined with Daphne and Amber. While it was an interesting story and provided a satisfying ending, I did not find myself as engaged with it as I did the first novel.

This book felt very similar to the first book. I liked The twists but wish there was more to it. I felt Like details were left out and left the book wanting more.

Short synopsis: Follow up to the Last Mrs Parrish, read that and the Novella first. Daphne is safe in California, Amber is enjoying her husbands money, until Jackson is released from prison.
My thoughts: If you enjoyed the first two in the series you’re sure to enjoy this one. Jackson and Amber are just as savage and conniving and Daphne is just a great mom trying to do what’s best for her daughters.
The number of times my jaw dropped due to the audacity of Amber! I’m so glad I’ve never met someone like her before. I also really liked the POV from Daisy Ann and her seeking revenge on Amber. And that ending was the perfect way to end the series.
Read if you love:
- Unlikable and likable characters
- Multiple POV
- Thriller series
- Revenge and Justice

This highly anticipated sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish gives us an another back and forth between Amber Parrish and Daphne and picks up right where they left off. Jackson is being released from prison so Amber’s plotting begins. We learn how deceitful that Jackson and Amber really can be and witness Daphne doing all she can to keep her children safe. I would definitely recommend reading the first book if you’re interested in reading the sequel!
While I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish, the sequel unfortunately didn’t give me the same thrill. While there was a lot of suspenseful twists and turns, it all felt too far fetched. I have overall generally enjoyed Liv Constantine’s writing but felt this sequel was not necessary.
Thank you to Random House - Ballentine and NetGalley for gifting me this advanced copy to review!

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC. Honestly I feel like this sequel wasn't needed. I did enjoy it but it didn't really add anything to the story for me. Ultimately I did enjoy this book but not as much as book 1.

Rereading the first book in this series reminded me why I love a lil domestic thriller. I never thought there needed to be a sequel but this still ended up being good! Without going into spoilers, I loved that everyone got what they deserved. Liv Constantine's characters aways feel so real even if they are Evil. I had a really fun time reading this and I flew through it.

The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine is an exciting sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish, exploring the Parrish family's world of secrets, power, and manipulation. The novel is packed with twists that keep readers guessing, and the characters are well-developed, adding depth to the story. While you can enjoy this sequel on its own, reading the first book is recommended.
Overall, The Next Mrs. Parrish is a gripping read, perfect for fans of psychological thrillers, especially those who loved the first book.
I would like to thank Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

I was so ready to dive back into the story of Amber, Jackson, and Daphne, and this sequel was one of my highly anticipated of the year. I was immediately reminded just how much I despise Amber and Jackson!
Did I mention how much I detest Amber and Jackson? Because wow. You THINK you dislike them in the first book, but now you REALLY despise them. But man…do the evil get what’s coming for them. And that’s all I’ll give away!
I won’t talk about much else to avoid any spoilers. I do think the first book was more rooted in the thriller genre. While this is a domestic thriller, I wouldn’t necessarily categorize as thriller. Domestic fiction with suspense? You also have to suspend belief quite a bit more in this one.
I rated The Last Mrs. Parrish 4 stars. I loved it, and continue to recommend it to this day. Unfortunately, I did not like this book quite as much, so by default have to rate it 3 stars.
I think it’s possible to read this as a standalone, but to really have full scope of each character and the basis of half the book’s conflicts, I highly recommend reading The Last Mrs. Parrish first.
Thank you Random House Ballantine and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
