Daphne has divorced Jackson and is happily living in California, but now the girls are asking about their father. Amber is enjoying living the high life now with Jackson in prison, but the money is starting to run out. She needs to find a way to make money. Daphne agrees to move back to Bishop's Harbor for the summer for the girl's sake. But now with Jackson being released from prison, will he try to get his family back again?
Wow! What a ride! This is a fast paced page turner that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. I even enjoyed this one better than the first one.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in return for my honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish (4 stars); however, I did not think a sequel was needed. The plot was outlandish and the character's thoughts and actions seemed highly unrealistic, even for a fiction story. With that being said, I did enjoy the short chapters, I flew through the book because I needed to know what crazy thing was going to happen next, and I needed JUSTICE in the end! Constantine is highly skilled in writing unlikeable characters, seriously, it takes a lot of talent to write characters you literally want to throttle lol.
I think the entire plot of the story could've been solved with a little communication on Daphne's part to her daughters. Also, what therapist suggests you should go back to your abuser?! The connections between all of the characters were a little far-fetched as well.
I almost gave up on this one. I’m so glad I didn’t.
The characters (for the most part) are nothing short of deplorable. The storyline is completely far fetched. I couldn’t figure out where the authors were going with this (which is why I almost gave up). But then all of the pieces started to come together. There were twists and turns I never could have anticipated.
This was a solid 4 star read for me. What a ride.
Thanks to NetGalley, Bantam and the authors for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
Wow...a must read! If you enjoy thrillers of the domestic sort, this book is for you. It is full of many twists and turns. You will find yourself not knowing which way is up by the end.
We finally get to find out what happens to Daphne, Amber, and Jackson in this sequel to "The Last Mrs. Parrish". I highly recommend this book. It can be read as a stand-alone novel, but it definitely helps if you have read the first in the series.
I loved the alternating viewpoints used as well as the attention to detail throughout. The whodunit aspect of the novel as well as the intricacies of the plot sucked me in. I had to pay close attention at times to keep my bearings, but overall I loved every second of this novel and could not put it down.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Ballantine for the eARC.
I was shocked to see Liv Constantine coming out with this sequel! I hated the characters in the first book and that for sure carried over into this one, but sometimes a hate read is just as good as a love read, if you know what I mean. This book still makes you angry and grimace at the characters, it still has the drama and the chaos. A solid sequel.
Love this sequel !! I read it all in one sitting. This series were phenomenal and absolutely enjoyed the ending. Cant wait to read more from this author
Thank you netgalley for the arc !!
I honestly didn't enjoy the first book as much as it was hyped up to, but it was a good read.
I don't know if I'm impartial bc I absolutely hate Amber and Jackson, they are just terrible people and I don't want to read another book about them. But ok this was pretty good, glad for a. final conclusion.
Thank you netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review
Thank you to Random House for letting me read THE NEXT MRS. PARRISH early. This one is out now.
I desperately need to talk to someone who is reading/has read this book. I think I mostly need a sane person's opinion of all of these insane characters, haha. It almost reads like a true crime documentary and I loved it. I highly recommend this one!
The Last Mrs. Parrish is a rollercoaster of psychological suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
The characters are brilliantly crafted, each with their own hidden agendas and layers of intrigue. The dynamic between the protagonists is particularly compelling, filled with tension and unexpected twists that kept me guessing until the final pages. I was so happy to continue this story from the first novel.
This was ok. It was kinda slow in places and almost as if three different stories were going on at once. It had a lot of good twists but I wasn’t as happy with this one as I was the first book.
3.5 Stars rounded up. While this book was cleverly plotted and written, the constantly changing pov's were confusing making it hard to follow. Also, I found it very convoluted that the characters would come up with such grand schemes and mind games and everything just falls into place as they had planned. But that is part of what makes it fun I suppose, even though the characters are mostly unlikable. I read the first book but don't remember much about it as it's been several years. I would suggest rereading it before this one if that's your situation as well. My thanks to the publisher for providing a review copy via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
I didn't expect a sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish but it was definitely a ride. I think overall it was a good thriller that helped in increasing my heart rate and blowing my mind but it fell a little short of the original for me. The characters from the last book show up again and we see more of Amber and Jackson's psychotic ways and poor Daphne and her kids...but we have more characters this time. Daisy Ann is intent on her own revenge when a blast from her past shows up unexpectedly.
I think about 75% of the book was pretty good for me. The shenanigans of Amber and Jackson are cringeworthy and addicting and there doesn't seem to be any changing of their ways, which is expected and enjoyed but seeing their venom and poison also seemed to be a bit repetitive. I loved seeing how the different POVs connected but I feel like the ending was a bit disjointed and there could have been just a little more character development and it had some turns but no major twists in my eyes. I think it was an expected ending...for the most part, but I also think that the ending left just a bit to be desired. Overall - good, quick thriller.
Thank you to NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine and Liv Constantine for the eARC of The Next Mrs. Parrish in exchange for an honest review. Publication date for The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine was 18 June 2024. Rated down for 3.5 stars.
This book gave me so much anxiety and rage but it was SO HARD to put down.
I read The Last Mrs Parrish years ago and was so excited to see a sequel coming out. I loved getting to follow Daphne and Amber’s storyline (even though I was so mad at Amber the whole time) and getting to know Daisy Ann-a strong Texas woman (as a fellow Texas woman).
I never could see how this book was going. There were a lot of twists and turns at the end that had me genuinely gasping. So many things I didn’t see coming that rattled me. There was a point where it felt like maybe too many things clumped up right at the end but I still enjoyed the book overall.
A perfect domestic thriller!
Its been awhile since I read The Last Mrs. Parrish but things slowly started to remember the more I read. Amber is beyond disgusting and so selfish. I felt so bad for Daphne and got right sucked into to all the drama. Loved it
Mrs. Parrish, the first book, was fabulous! Liv Constantine (two people) is great, and her idea to make it a sequel was clever!
I appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a review.
This was classic Liv Constantine and hooked me right away! It got a little slow and repetitive in the middle, but I truly enjoyed the twists and the end. The use of all female heroes to defeat the narcissistic men of the novel was well-written and organized. It was realistic to include the mixed emotions of the daughters, as they grapple with their mother's truths and their perceptions of their father. I would love to see what Constantine does with a spin off with other side characters! It would have been interesting to know more about the diamonds, how they were stolen/found, and what dirty business was involved. It also would have been interesting to learn more about the back story of Lana and how she wound up so evil/emotionless. I would rate this 3.5 stars out of 5.
Coming back to the drama and intrigue of the Parrish family was something I didn't know I needed. While reading this book I cried, I yelled, and I breathed a sigh of relief.
After finally getting out of her abusive marriage Daphne has moved with her two daughters across the country to California. But when her daughter runs away to go see her ex-husband, Jackson, she is forced to make a trip back to Bishops Harbor for supervised visits with him. While there, Jackson tries to convince Daphne that the time he spent in jail for tax evasion has changed him. In the meantime, Jackson's new wife Amber is working on her exit from her marriage and Bishops Harbor. Now that she has money she's looking forward to the future she has as a wealthy independent woman. However, when a new person joins the fold that happens to be from Amber's past and one of her enemies her plans are starting to unravel. Soon everyone is entangled in each others lives.
The Last Mrs. Parrish blew my mind when I read it years ago. When I heard that Liv Constantine was coming out with a sequel I re-read it and it held up. The twists and turn of that book are *chef's kiss* and The Next Mrs. Parrish did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the addition of the new character and how it added another layer of intrigue and drama. The interchanging narration between Daphne, Amber, and the newest character, Daisy Ann, keeps the plot moving and you completely immersed. I don't want to spoil anything so what I will end with is that this book literally had me put it down and walk away from it because I got so angry at certain characters. I had a pit in my stomach while reading some parts but the ending is so satisfying it made all of those feelings worth it.
If you're looking to read a domestic thriller with a mix of characters you'll love and characters you'll absolutely detest with a satisfying ending I highly recommend this book. Make sure to read the first book, The Last Mrs. Parrish first though!
After reading this book as well as the 2 additional, I have to say It was not a good as I was expecting. I did not like Amber as usual, but the ending felt rushed and there was a lot of repetition overall. For me the book was just a little disappointing after such a great first one.

WHAT A RIDE! My most anticipated read this year, and it was INTENSE. I knew it was going to be crazy, but some of it felt over the top at times. It will definitely get you riled up and your heart pumping.
I enjoyed the introduction of a new character, Daisy Ann, and seeing how her story line was connected. Her chapters were some of my favorites.
Daphne made some poor choices that were out of character, so it led me to be frustrated. I was angry for a lot of the book whenever Amber was around because she is just a despicable human being, and Jackson is a conniving, manipulative, awful person. I’m so glad these characters are fictional 😅
I really enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish, and in my opinion, a sequel wasn't really necessary. I felt the first one wrapped up with a satisfying conclusion. I don't feel this elevated the story, and I didn't enjoy it nearly as much. The few twists were decent, and I did enjoy the game of who can deceive who the most and be the last one standing. Even if it did go on a tad too long.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group Ballantine for this eARC.
