The Next Mrs. Parrish is the followup to the very successful The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine. This novel features Amber and Daphne, who are both Mrs Parrish, as well as one of my new favorite book characters, Daisy Ann. Their lives become unexpectedly intertwined and this will have life-changing consequences for them all. This book also contains a character who might possibly be the most unlikeable one I've ever read about. Read and enjoy!

This book was just ok for me. I enjoyed it. But didn’t love it. There were parts that lagged a tad and it took me longer than normal to finish.

Thank you for this arc!

The sequel that we didn’t know that we needed.

Don’t worry if It’s been a while since you read the last Mrs. Parrish. I thought I should have reread it because I read it so long ago- but these ladies made it super easy to jump right back in. If you haven’t read it- that’s ok too because I think it could be read as a standalone!

Spoilers ahead for The Last Mrs Parrish!! (The first book)

Daphne escaped Jackson with their two children, leaving manipulative Amber and abusive Jackson to their happily ever after. Since the daughters never learned the truth about their father, now Tallulah is questioning Daphne’s decision, so they return home to allow her daughters to see their father. Jaxon seems to be playing nice, and Daphne would do anything for her daughters, but Jackson’s fooled them all once before.

I loved this sequel! It was just as white-knuckle as the first. There are a couple of story lines that were well balanced and interesting. I thought the pacing was great and I wanted to keep reading- despite having a busy week. I just love reading about Jackson’s manipulations, gaslighting, and lies- they got me so angry. I really felt sympathetic towards Daphne. Plus Amber- I don’t know if I’ve ever read two more infuriating characters.

I did just love it!

👒 The Next Mrs. Parrish - Liv Constantine

4 ⭐️ - I didn’t think The Last Mrs. Parrish needed a sequel, but I am oh no glad it got one. I loved being back in the dramatic world of these characters. While this could easily be read as a standalone - I don’t recommend that. Check out the first one first!

Amber Parrish has come a long way from the wallflower she used to be. Less than a year after her husband, Jackson, went to jail for tax evasion, Amber is still at the top of her game, doing whatever she pleases while he’s away. But that quickly comes to an end when Jackson is released early and her money is dwindling. Meanwhile, Daphne Parrish left her abusive husband, Jackson, and got her daughters far away from him. But when one of her daughters runs away from home to visit her dad, she agrees to take them back to see him for the summer when he gets out of prison. When a ghost from Ambers past resurfaces, will the 3 of them find allies in each other and who is really playing who?

Okay so, I didn’t think we needed a sequel here and to be honest, when I first started it, I was skeptical. BUT, I am so happy with this sequel I didn’t know I needed. I quickly fell back in love with the rich-socialite lifestyle, money problems, and neighborhood drama. I missed these characters more than I thought and I loved being back in their world! I am so pleasantly surprised by this one, which I’m not really sure why, I love everything Liv Constantine puts out. I definitely recommend it but I recommend reading The Last Mrs. Parrish first!

Thank you Netgalley and Random House Publishing - Ballantine for the early arc! This one’s out now!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of "The Next Mrs. Parrish" by Liv Constantine. Constantine's writing style in this novel is addictive and engaging, drawing you into a world of wealth, deception, and calculated ambition. The story unfolds with a dual narrative that offers intriguing perspectives from both protagonist and antagonist, blurring the lines between right and wrong. The characters are sharply drawn, with complex motivations that drive the plot forward with relentless suspense. While some plot twists are predictable, the manipulation and psychological games keep you turning pages eagerly. "The Next Mrs. Parrish" is a compelling psychological thriller that explores themes of power and betrayal, perfect for fans of suspenseful and twisty plots.

It delves into the realm of domestic thrillers, leaving readers breathless and terrified on behalf of Daphne and her daughters. With unexpected twists and turns, this suspenseful book keeps readers on the edge of their seats. The writing is skillfully crafted, allowing readers to form a strong attachment to the characters. Undoubtedly, it is a captivating page-turner.

The characters you love to hate are back again in the sequel “The Next Mrs. Parrish”! Readers can dive into this as a standalone but I would recommend reading the first book! Daphne and her daughters moved across the country and thought their troubles with Jackson were gone…until he is released from prison. Faced with new struggles, single parenting, and the need for closure, Daphne is wrapped up into a tumultuous conflict with her ex-husband and the new Mrs. Parrish, Amber. This was entertaining and fast-paced, but a bit unrealistic and frustrating. I found myself yelling at the characters and rolling my eyes here and there. Overall, 3 stars but not a thriller I would recommend to all readers. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

I was thrilled to hear that Liv Constantine was putting out a sequel to The First Mrs. Parrish since I thorough enjoyed the first one, and The Next Mrs. Parrish did not disappoint. Amber and Jackson are both people that you just love to hate. The Constantine sisters do an incredible job developing the characters in a way that while you're supposed to dislike them, you can't help but want to know more about them and understand why they are the way they are. Learning more about Amber's backstory, the introduction of Daisy Ann, and Daphne and Jackson's mess of a relationship made for an exciting and interesting read and kept me wanting more. Definitely another very good, fast paced book from Liv Constantine. 3.5 stars bumped to 4.

Thank you to NetGalley, Random House, and Liv Constantine for an ARC in exchange for my review.

The Next Mrs. Parrish
by Liv Constantine

The next Mrs. Parrish is the sequel to The last Mrs. Parrish but don’t fret if you did not have a chance to read the Last Mrs. Parrish first, the author does a great job giving you enough pieces from the prior book!

I love all Liv Constantine books and this one is no exception! It will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the digital advanced readers copy!! Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Add it to your TBR!!

I was beyond excited to see where this one was going to go, and let me tell you it did not disappoint! Although this book made me scream at it a thousand times for everything that was happening, to get to where it did in the end made up for it for sure!! This was super twisty, literally had me on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what happened, and was just perfection! I do highly recommend reading the prequel novel though before this one!

This book, the sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish, continues the story of Amber, Jackson, and Daphne. Jackson is soon to be out of prison, something both Amber and Daphne are dreading. Amber just wants to protect her money, Daphne her children. But Jackson is back, and he’s brought a reckoning.

This book was definitely full of surprises, and twists I didn’t see coming. There are only a few likable characters, but that is the point, giving readers people to root for. I felt the ending wrapped up the story nicely, and left me satisfied. I would recommend this book-but read the first one first.

With this being a sequel, I at first had no idea where the story could continue for Daphne and Amber.

Remaining up to their old antics, both Amber and Jackson find themselves unable to change which gives us a great story with numerous side plots to tie together unexpectedly at the end.

I loved this book (maybe even more than The Last Mrs. Parrish) and highly recommend it!

In this gripping sequel, lovable character Daphne returns as well as despicable characters Amber and Jackson. We are not entirely sure about new character Daisy Ann as this book has lots of twists and "oh, I didn't see that coming" moments, all of which makes for a great read.

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for an ARC of this book.

Lies. Betrayal. Murder. Revenge

Daphne thought she had escaped her abusive husband when he fell for and married con-artist Amber but once he sees through her fake facade and is released from prison, he becomes obsessed with getting Daphne and his children back to complete his “perfect family”. Amber’s past comes back to haunt her with the addition of new character Daisy Ann who adds a new layer of complexity into the mix.

This was a good beach read but lacked the suspense and shocking twists of The Last Mrs. Parrish, which I absolutely loved. For fans of the first book, I do think that the story tied up nicely at the end of this one. A solid read.

Get your beach bag ready! The Last Mrs.Parrish was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me with The Next Mrs. Parrish coming in at ⭐️⭐️⭐️. I have not read The First Shot but heard it gives good background for The Next Mrs. Parrish. Thanks to @netgalley and @randomhouse for the e-arc in exchange for my honest review. 🌴Have you read any of the books in this series?🌴 #thelastmrsparrish #thenextmrsparrish #bookstagram #beachread #livconstantine #booksbooksbooks #revengebooks #thrillerbooks #thrillerbookslover

Thriller sequels are HARD, and yet Liv Constantine absolutely nailed it.

It’s no secret that The Last Mrs. Parrish is one of my all-time thrillers. I own multiple copies and recommend it to anyone who needs a twisty thriller in their life. So when I found out there was going to be a sequel, I WAS READY.

But then the prequel came out, One Last Shot, which gives a bit more background to Amber’s story—and let me just say, you really should read this novella before diving into the sequel, since it’ll give you far more context to understand what’s going on as Amber fights to keep her world as perfect as she has always wanted it to be.

I loved revisiting Daphne in this story. I loved seeing the life she was able to build for herself and her kids, but I HATED watching what happened. Mind you, I was completely hooked on this story and I could not put it down for work or even sleep, BUT I most definitely found myself hating all of humanity for the duration of the novel until the end.

And let’s talk about that ending, shall we??? Because I think there was room left for a potentially third book? Could this happen? Is it in the works? Because I, for one, would absolutely love it.

We also got a new perspective in this one: Daisy Ann. I think one of my favorite things about how Liv Constantine writes is how everything is pieced together so well. The backstory, the present timeline, and even the future plans…everything is seamless while mixed in with absolute horror.

If you love a twisty thriller that makes you question if the terrible people will actually get away with it all, or want a chance to completely question humanity and all that is good, please—PLEASE—pick up this book.

The Next Mrs. Parrish is a sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine. This book finds Daphne living in California with her 2 daughters, her ex-husband Jackson Parrish in prison for tax evasion and his new wife Amber and their young son living in the mansion. Daphne likes being far away from the man that framed her and had her locked in an asylum with lies he told. Being divorced from that man is the best thing to ever happen to Daphne. Unfortunately, her daughters don't understand what went on and they miss their father. They know he's due to be released from prison and they want to see him. After much thought on the topic, Daphne decides to go back to Bishops Harbor for the summer so that the girls can visit their father. She rents a nice house with a pool and decides to go back.

Jackson and Amber's marriage is just for show now. Amber wants out of the marriage and they sleep in separate bedrooms. She's glad that Jackson is getting out of prison because she wants to know how they're going to live. All of his assets were taken when he was sent to prison. Amber is as devious as ever and has a plan on how to get the lifestyle she wants, away from Jackson. The daughter of Amber's ex-husband believes that Amber killed her father. Daisy Ann is doing her best to find proof that Amber's story of an accidental shooting while hunting is a lie. Daisy Ann's father was killed when Amber shot him while hunting. There was no proof that she did it on purpose so no charges were brought against Amber. Everyone was very suspicious, however, especially Daisy Ann.

When Daphne is at the rental house with the girls swimming in the pool, Jackson drops by unannounced. The girls are thrilled to see him, but he was supposed to call and set up a time to come over. He claims he couldn't wait to see them and had good intentions. Jackson never does anything with good intentions, especially around Daphne. He tells Daphne he's changed and wants all of them back in his life. Daphne finds this hard to believe. Daphne has full custody of the girls and Jackson can only visit with them while Daphne is around. Did the time in prison really give Jackson time to figure out his priorities? Does he really want to be a good father to the girls? Are he and Amber really getting a divorce? Why does Jackson seem to think he can get Daphne back? What does he have planned?

This book will have you cringing throughout at what goes on. Jackson and Amber are easy to dislike while Daphne and Daisy Ann are easy to like. Will it stay that way throughout? Will Jackson find a way to get Daphne back in his home with the 2 girls? Will the girls be safe? This book sets you on edge throughout and the suspense builds to an exciting ending. I rate The Next Mrs. Parrish 4 stars with a high recommendation. I'd like to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group/Ballantine for an advanced copy of The Next Mrs. Parrish in exchange for a fair review. The book is available now and should not be missed if you like a good thriller! #TheNextMrsParrish

3.5 ⭐️

This final installment is a story of everyone trying to get revenge on those they feel did them wrong. Daphne, Amber, and Jackson are all back, in addition to their children. The sociopathy is still running rampant. This one felt less like a psychological *thriller* and more just like psychological fiction. We also have Daisy Ann who we met in the prequel. I adored this character. She was so entertaining and took no shit from anyone. By far the best character in the lineup. I was not really loving this book throughout, to be honest, because it just felt like the bad guys continuing to be awful, and this time we see much more of the impact on the children. But the ending wrapped up in such a satisfying way that it elevated it for me!

I was SO excited to be selected for an ARC for the sequel to an awesome novel, The Last Mrs. Parrish. So first and foremost, thank you to NetGalley, Random House Publishers, and Liv Constantine for the opportunity to read this before it hit the shelves.

We’re back to Bishop’s Harbor for the summer with Daphne, Jackson, & the kids. After Jackson is released from prison, he and Amber each launch a plan to exact revenge on their desired person. Amber has a vendetta (like always), and Jackson falls right back into his sociopathic ways.

We are introduced to a new character, Daisy Ann, who has ties to Amber’s past. Liv Constantine finds a way to tie Daisy Ann in with the original cast of characters well and we see how each of the psychopaths’ plans pan out.

I must say, I was very excited for this novel, but was underwhelmed. I felt the story just got out of hand and was a bit too far fetched. I know some people like completely unrealistic scenarios in books because it’s meant to be a story, but it isn’t my favorite. I tend to be put off by more outlandish storylines. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a good twist, but I need the story to be realistic. I felt that this one was just a bit too out there for me, unfortunately. I did enjoy it, but wasn’t as taken by it as the first one. I think the story should have ended there. It was more satisfying to me.

All that aside, Liv Constantine is a fantastic writer and I look forward to reading more of her work. Thanks again for the opportunity to review this in advance!

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two Mrs. Parrish books. This third book, however, does not hit the same mark. It is good and entertaining. It just didn’t seem to hold my attention like the others. Perhaps it was because there were so many storylines being woven together than they became confusing.
I enjoyed the writing and felt that the book was definitely worth reading. All Mrs. Parrish’s are back in the third book in this series. The tension and wickedness of some of the characters remains throughout. It is so fun to despise a few.
This book is a must for those having already begun the series. Although, it could stand alone, I would recommend starting from the beginning to really understand the different characters.
I received an ARC from Random House Publishing – Ballantine through NetGalley. This in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book. I am voluntarily submitting this review and am under no obligation to do so.
