While I enjoyed the first book, I found myself too annoyed by the ridiculousness of Amber and Jackson and everything they get away with, that I just couldn’t get into it. Ending was good though. If you liked the first book I’d recommend reading this one to see what happens to the characters.
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC.
The Last Mrs. Parrish was a high bar for the dynamic duo known as Liv Constantine to meet but their follow-up novel, The Next Mrs. Parrish, met the challenge. Trying to put Jackson and Connecticut in the past, Daphne has moved her daughters and mother to California to rebuild their lives. Amber, staying in the Parrish family home while Jackson finishes is prison sentence, is more determined than ever to keep her place in society and lifestyle regardless of the circumstances. Nearly running through what's left of Jackson's money, she discovers a much more lucrative source of income; much to Jackson's disbelief. In order to keep his grips on his money and Amber's discovery, Jackson and Amber take part in a cat-and-mouse scheme with dangerous consequences. Desperate to reunite with his daughters and Daphne, Amber is willing to help Jackson bring them back to Connecticut on one condition: Jackson helps Amber bring down an old enemy. Just what does Texan Daisy Ann have to do with Amber's past? Why is Amber so desperate to ruin her? What will happen if Amber's secrets are exposed? And what about Jackson's plans for Daphne? Has he really changed? All these questions and more are answered in this satisfying sequel.
I had high hopes for the Next Mrs. Parrish and was happy to discover another knock-out by Liv Constantine. I was admittedly a little frustrated with Daphne early on but it's all worth it for the satisfying payoff in the ending. This novel can be read as a stand-alone if you have not read the Last Mrs. Parrish but it is also a strong sequel. It was so fun to revisit Daphne, horrible Amber and dastardly Jackson. There seems to be enough for even a third book if Liv Constantine desires to make it a trilogy but for now it was worth the wait for The Next Mrs. Parrish.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest feedback.
Reading Between the Wines book review #53/130 for 2024:
Rating: 4 🍷 🍷 🍷 🍷
Book: The Next Mrs. Parrish
Author: Liv Constantine
RELEASES on June 18, 2024!!!
Sipping thoughts: In 2019, I read The Last Mrs. Parrish and was impressed with the writing and twists. So, I was beyond excited to find out that there was going to be a sequel to follow Daphne, Amber, and Jackson after the shoe dropped and everyone’s intentions were revealed. I was SO frustrated at certain parts of this book because I wanted the characters to be smarter, but I guess that is what makes the book fun. Jackson fresh out of jail is back to his gaslighting antics, Amber is still a big <bleep> but maybe even worse, but Daphne is a tad bit smarter and stronger this go-around. Reading this book had my emotions all over the place but I was very pleased with the overall story and am so happy the Constantine sisters decided to do a sequel!
Cheers and thank you to @RandomHousePublishingGroupBallatine and @Netgalley for an advanced copy of @TheNextMrsParrish.

Daphne and Amber Parrish are back! The past and current wives of Jackson Parrish find themselves back in each other's lives with Jackson is released from prison for tax-evasion. And Jackson is back to his old tricks of manipulation and shady stuff.
It was fun to get back into the world of the various Parrish family members. Jackson and Amber are still terrible and Daphne is trying to raise her daughters away from both of them. There is enough backstory to remind you to what happened in the first book, without it seeming to be a retelling. I really enjoyed this sequel, but still, for Daphne's sake, hope this is the end of it!
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for providing me with an advanced digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I hurried and read The Last Mrs. Parrish that was stuck in my kindle abyss before reading The Next Mrs. Parrish. I’m pleased to say the most recent book was pure pleasure, moved at a fast and interesting pace and I loved the ending!
A previous character, Meredith, took on a larger role with Daphne, and Daphne’s children became more of a focus in this book. Daisy Ann, a new character in the Parrish world gave the book just what it needed to put Amber where she belonged.
I can’t tell too much about the story without giving away good spoilers, so I’ll just say you. need to read this one! It’s full of intrigue, money and bad guys, with a murder thrown in the mix.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine, Bantam for allowing me to read an advance copy. I am happy to give my honest review and recommend this to other readers who like mystery, thrillers and suspense.
Daphne is back fighting her ex Jackson again as he wants her back!
The games begin! The games however aren't only between Daphne and Jackson and Daphne but there is revenge games between Amber and Daisy Ann as well. Who will come out on top?
This book follows the very popular book The Last Mrs. Parish. That book was so good I didn't think this book could be as good but it was! I simply could not put it down with 3 story lines told from 3 pov I was hooked. Just like The Last Mrs Paris , The Next Mrs Parish gets 5 stars from me.
I want to thank the Publisher and Netgalley for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
Having enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish, I eagerly picked up its sequel, The Next Mrs. Parrish. Although you can appreciate the second book without reading the first, I strongly recommend experiencing them in sequence. Amber returns, as cunning as always, and Jackson, fresh out of jail, remains as despicable as ever. However, Daphne has grown wiser and is determined not to be ensnared by their schemes again. This is a truly gripping thriller.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫.
Persuasive, poisoned, and prevail.
Team Amber? Or Team Daphne? The two are back for a new delicious tale of deceit. Our Liv Constantine also introduces us to a new player in this unhinged story, Daisy Ann. Daisy Ann is ready for revenge, unlike any of the characters we have met, yet. She adds a whole to layer to this high drama read, calculating more investigation and manipulation to the pages. And Jackson? I’m speechless.
This inertwinned book will leave you cheering. Sometimes people deserve a dose of their own medicine, and this book outshines that theory. You will find karma at its finest with this one!
Thank you to Liv Constantine, Random House Publishing Group- Ballantine, and NetGalley for this fabulous read! You will find this (General Fiction, Mystery & Thrillers) book on shelves this Tuesday, June 18th!
Daphne, Amber, and Jackson are back in another thrilling cat and mouse game. Jackson, about to be released from prison. Amber, looking for a way to escape before Jackson’s release. Daphne, thinking she and the girls are safe from Jackson across the country. All unaware that their lives are about to change drastically again.
I loved the first book and was SO excited to be back with the characters in this sequel - even better, I wasn’t disappointed! A thrilling page turner for fans of domestic dramas.
Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for the ARC in exchange for a fair review.
Okay I was a HUGE fan of the first book in this series THE LAST MRS. PARRISH so I knew I couldn’t wait to read the second one. While I didn’t like the second one near as much as the first, I still enjoyed it. It was fun being back in the Parrish world. The con artist vibes were well executed and I was completely entertained throughout the entire book. Daphne made me mad… I won’t say why because spoilers. Overall I found this book to be super entertaining and I recommend grabbing it when it releases on June 18th!
Have you read this book? What did you think?
I'll admit it. I requested this book hoping to see two of the most despicable fictional characters ever written get their comeuppance. I had issues with The First Mrs. Parrish when I read it last year and the promise of Jackson Parrish and Amber Patterson Parrish finally getting what they deserve was too alluring to pass up. I was willing to give the writing duo of Liv Constantine another chance.
THE NEXT MRS. PARRISH opens with Jackson preparing to be released from prison after serving his sentence for tax evasion. He is still married to the wicked Amber, but not for long according to her plan. They selfishly join forces once again to torture Daphne, Jackson's first wife who thought she had finally escaped the personal hell Jackson created for her and their daughters. They set a plan in motion that promises to destroy everyone in their wake. Just when I thought I could not despise these characters more, Liv Constantine show them to be even more depraved and morally bankrupt than ever.
Revealing anything else would spoil the plot of this deftly crafted domestic thriller. Suffice to say that the authors use their trademark plot twists and sharp turns combined with unlikely alliances to give the reader a distinct case of whiplash. There is payback and then there is payback. They serve up a wickedly delicious dessert of sweet revenge - and it is ice cold.
THE NEXT MRS. PARRISH delivers everything it promises and I was there for every vengeful moment. What does that say about me? And do I even care? If you are a fan of punishment for the wicked and redemption for the innocent, this is your book. It certainly was mine.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review I.
This book picks back up in Bishops Harbor, where Amber still is an admired socialite despite her husband, Jackson, being in prison for tax evasion. Jackson will be home from prison soon and Amber has a whole lot of scheming planned for his return. Meanwhile, Daphne has escaped to California with her daughters who are having a hard time adjusting without their father. Will a trip back to Bishops Harbor be the answer or will it destroy them all?
I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to get in to this book cause it had been such a long time since I read the first. Well, I’m here to tell you not to worry! This book gave enough details for me to recall what happened and I was hooked right back into all the shenanigans these characters get up to. Such short, exciting chapters that kept me hooked and reading way past my bedtime!
THE NEXT MRS. PARRISH by writing duo Liv Constantine is as good as the last (get it?). Revenge is a dish best served cold, and the offerings are abundant at this table.
Amber Patterson Parrish is preparing for the homecoming of Jackson who has served eight months at Camp Fed for shady accounts. But Amber doesn’t plan to stick around much longer than to say hello. She was finally reaching the pinnacle of Bishop Harbor Society when Jackson went to jail. She has decided to leave Jackson, and their son taking the millions of dollars she’s stolen from Jackson during his incarceration. When she stumbles upon an unknown stash of jewels, she feels like she is set for a life of privilege and money to which she has become accustomed in her very short marriage.
Meanwhile, Jackson is heart set on reuniting with Daphne, his ex-wife and has plans to bring his children back together under one roof. His ideas about how that needs to be done involve Amber‘s assistance, and then he’ll let her go. Or so he says. Daphne, on the other hand has zero desire to reunite with Jackson but does hope that all of the children can form bonds with each other. Along with Jackson, Junior age 2, Daphne has custody of Bella and Tallulah, Jackson’s daughters.
Along the way we also meet Daisy Anne Briscoe, a very wealthy jewelry designer from Dallas. When she crosses paths with Amber, she calls her a murderer and re-ignites her investigation into Amber. Putting her marriage on the line, she does everything she can to try to prove that Amber was responsible for her father‘s death and should go to jail.
This one had me hooked from page one. As always the writing was clear and concise and grabbed me by the throat, not letting up until the final page. I could feel myself in the opulence of Amber‘s surroundings and the quiet serenity of Daphne‘s life. Everyone of importance in this one had a need to avenge situations from the past and all will eventually get what’s coming to them. I can’t wait to see where the author takes me next.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bantam Books for this ARC opportunity. All opinions are my own and given voluntarily.

This one is full of narcissism, lies, deceit and deception. Unlikeable characters are everywhere and there are three characters that, while unlikely, become allies. This is the second book that was written about Daphne Parrish and her ex husband Jackson andAmber Patterson Parrish who is Bishops Harbor socialite and Jackson’s current wife. Jackson is at the end is a prison term for a tax evasion scandal. Daphne is living in California with her children now and Amber has had her child. However, Daphne returns because her daughter runs away to spend time with her father. Amber knows too much about Jackson and his tax evasion that she feels she now can head to Paris alone. Except Jackson is now free on good behavior. Jackson and Amber make a deal that if she gets Daphne back in his life she can leave. At this time though there are a lot of twists and turns that will keep you engaged and entertained. The characters are very well developed and the book is extremely well written.
I would honestly say that you really need to read the first book to fully understand the second one. You do NOT want to miss this one!
Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my unbiased and honest review.
If you love unlikeable characters, then this is the book for you! Spiteful. Vengeful. Immoral. Sociopaths who have no boundaries. And their victims who make dumb decisions and then roll over and take their punishment... that is until they don't.
The Next Mrs. Parrish is a sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish, and you definitely have to read the first installment to understand this one. Amber and Jackson have to be some of the vilest fictional characters I've ever read. Somehow, they are even worse in this follow-up. For me, this book felt both rushed (in the unfolding), yet plodding at the same time... you know, like watching a dumpster fire. You can't wait for it to be put out, but you can't help but watch it burn in slow motion.. However, the bucket of cold water at the end was worth the exhaustion in getting to there!
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Bantam for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.
This novel is full of deceit, lies, manipulation, physical and emotional abuse and is written skillfully. At one point I realized none f these characters are very likeable. While they all have their issues it does make for a good read of the lives of the rich and those who want to be and won’t let anything stop them from their goal
The whole Parrish gang is back! After divorcing Jackson, Daphne has moved herself and her girls to California for a fresh start, but her ex-husband Jackson and his conniving new wife Amber are never far behind with their plots and scheming.
This book was very entertaining and gripping and I read it in 24 hours. I HATED Jackson and Amber in the first book, and Amber in the prequel (available on Audible) so I wasn't exactly relishing diving back into their drama but this was twisty enough and had enough good gals to root for that it kept me intrigued. There was a lot of moving pieces to this book and some points were slightly predictable, but the ending was satisfying and the twists towards the end surprised me.
A solid sequel. Not as good as thrilling as the first but still full of drama. If you enjoyed the first one, I do think this is worth picking up, it’s a pretty quick read
The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine is the second book about Daphne Parrish. This book picks up with Daphne and the girls living in California at the time when Jackson Parrish is just about finished with his prison sentence for tax evasion. Amber Parrish has had her child and is full tilt in the midst of another scheme. Once Jackson is out of prison he is also up to his old tricks with regard to Daphne and the girls.
I enjoyed this second installment of the Parrish saga. There were several twists that I didn't expect which made it a fun, fast paced read. This will be a perfect summer beach read! I'll be interested to see if there are any more books about the Parrish family!
