In preparation for this sequel I reread The Next Mrs Parrish and while you don’t have to I think it makes it even better! Daphne has moved to California with the girls when 13 year old Tallulah runs away trying to see her Dad and is so indignant that Daphne agrees to go back to Connecticut for the summer just as Jackson is getting out of prison for tax evasion. Amber has the goods on Jackson and they strike a deal to win Daphne back for Jackson so she can take her part of their ill-gotten money and go. Lots of scheming going on and double crossing - my favorite trope! Lots and lots of twists and turns - ready for the 3rd book! Please,!

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the ARC!

WOW. I will be completely honest, when I saw that The Last Mrs. Parrish sequel was being released 7 years later, I wasn't sure how to feel. I liked the first book in the series but didn't *love* it - it was just alright by my standards, so I didn't think this would be anything special. This was a book that had me STRESSED (in a good way) and on my toes the entire time!! Seven years did wonders for this series, clearly!

After seducing Jackson Parrish and convincing him to leave his wife, and subsequently putting him in jail for tax fraud, Amber thinks she has it made. She has every plan to leave behind her son and head out to Paris, until Jackson turns up early on good behavior. The two make a deal - Amber can leave if she helps Jackson get his ex-wife Daphne and their daughters back in his life - even if that means committing some further fraud. But when a character from Amber's past shows up in town, threatening to take down every secret she has so carefully curated, she might not get off just as easily as she has in the past.

I truly had no idea how this one would end - either Amber wins and you feel angry that the bad guy succeeds, or she gets taken down and you feel justice is served. I could totally see this book going in either direction, so I was desperate to know how everything would come together in the end.

If you're looking for something HIGH drama with a side of suspense, this is a perfect book for you. I wouldn't even necessarily say you need to read book 1 for this to work, but I would encourage it to get the background on the key players here (even if the first book was kind of so-so in my opinion).

I am now considering reading some more by Liv Constantine because I was truly impressed by how captivated I was by this one. Dare I say I am hoping for book 3!?

I received at complementary ARC of this book from NetGalley on behalf of the author and the publisher.
I enjoyed this book, I've forgotten a lot of what happened in the first one but it was easy to jump back in and reading it made me remember a lot of things. It was a cat and mouse type mystery to me. Although there were several people pulling the stings that effected everyone in the story you don't know how they will all relate as your reading. I always enjoy the books by Liv Constantine and it was fun to revisit these characters and see where their lives are after all of the things that happened in the first book.

Liv Constantine does it again with the follow-up to the Last Mrs. Parrish. I was hooked from page 1 until the final one. Amber is so conniving, smart, and a pain in a lot of people’s sides. Even though she tricks and blackmails her way through life, I kind of like her. She puts misogynist men in their place. She gets what she wants and I’m here for her schemes to ruin Jackson. However I don’t care for the way she has treated the good men she’s schemed (and killed). I really liked the three didn’t POVs in this story. I rooted for Daphne since the first book, especially after learning she was plotting to get away from Jackson to begin with. I hated the turmoil she had to endure while trying to keep a relationship between her daughters and Jackson. In the end, I was satisfied with how it came altogether and with the cliffhanger, I can’t wait for book 3.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bantam books for the arc copy of this book!

I was a HUGE fan of The Last Mrs. Parrish. It's one of the few books I have re-read. So I was SO excited to get this book as an ARC. Sadly, it just didn't live up to the hype for me. The characters were too unlikeable, every situation was frustrating. And honestly, I just feel like this sequel didn't need to happen. This is, sadly, a pass for me.

I loved it. It was better than the first book. I love how we picked up right where the first book left off. Daphne, Amber and Jackson are such memorable characters. I read the first book so long ago and somehow I still remember the first book vividly! I have a thing for the bitchy rich housewife trope. I can't really tell if we are supposed to love Amber, or hate her. I enjoy reading her POV as an outsider trying desperately to be something she is not and to fit in where she is not. Jackson is awful but I think its funny how he always seems to stop Daphne and Amber at all of their twisty turns. The end of this book was also extremely satisfying. I don't know how a third book would be possible but I am sure Liv could come up with something. I would definitely be reading it.
Thank you so much for this ARC.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish back in 2017 and I thought the twist was so clever from Amber to Daphne and the whole reveal. It’s hard to pull the same trick in a sequel without it feeling predictable and overdone, but there is still some satisfaction in the resolution between the three main characters. In addition to the return of Amber and Daphne, the authors have introduced a new character - Daisy Ann - who has also been betrayed by Amber and is out for vengeance. Unlike the first book, which split each character into their own part of the book, this one rotates POV chapter by chapter. Amber is up to her old tricks with a new scheme, Daisy Ann is out for revenge for Amber murdering her father, and poor Daphne is sucked back into Jackson’s orbit. Over time, we see how all their lives have been tied up together, mainly revolving around Amber in some way. Amber is hoping her latest scheme pans out so she can live the luxurious life she dreams of free from Jackson’s rules, Daisy Ann is focused on heading off Amber and proving her guilt, and Daphne is fighting for her and her daughters’ lives once she’s dragged back into Jackson’s manipulations and deceit. While not as an explosive reveal as the first book, this one draws out the suspense and tension longer, building to a less dramatic resolution of their storylines. Less dramatic doesn’t equate to more boring or less satisfying though. Everyone is still getting their justice and punishment. No one more so than Jackson.

Daphne, Jackson & Amber are back! Daphne has moved on with her life after Jackson’s imprisonment. She’s living in California and Amber is still in Connecticut while Jackson finishes out his prison sentence. Amber is still scheming, trying to find a way out of her marriage with Jackson that leaves her as rich as possible. Jackson gets out of prison and makes it his goal to get Daphne back by any means possible. There is a new character, Daisy Ann, a woman that Amber wrong in her past.

This was a fun book with a lot of twists and turns. It was a quick read, and I enjoyed it more than the first book, actually. I do think that Daphne is kind of a simpering idiot, but the book was still good.

Thank you to Random House & NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

I was a huge fan of The Last Mrs. Parrish. So of course I had to rush and request this when I saw that Liv Constantine was coming out with the long awaited sequel.
It’s definitely think it's helpful to read The Last Mrs. Parrish and the novella, The First Shot (the prequel) before reading this one, however I barely remember The Last Mrs. Parrish and the authors did a good job reminding me what I may have forgotten.
With Jackson in jail and money tight, Amber is scheming to hold on to her lifestyle while anticipating her next move as Jackson's release looms. Meanwhile, Jackson's ex-wife, Daphne, moved with her daughters to California to escape, but now her oldest has run away, returning to Bishop's Harbor because she misses her father. Daphne wants to help her daughters, so she moves back with them just for the summer so they can see their dad. Daphne hopes to avoid getting caught up in any drama with Jackson and Amber, but that is easier said than done.
Some of this book will have you annoyed, frustrated, and disgusted with the characters. But they are so well-written, it’s easy to keep wanting more. Also, I think the deeply unlikable characters (Amber and Jackson) are balanced out nicely with characters we can really root for (Daphne and Daisy Ann).
This book was wrapped up so well, I couldn’t have asked for a better ending. Every single character got the ending they deserved!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher Bantam for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was better than the first. I will say I read the first book after reading The Housemaid and I felt they were so similar I was able to predict a lot of the book.

This book however made it hard for me to put down.

This was told in multiple POV's. You have Daphne - the original Mrs. Parrish, Amber - The new Mrs. Parrish and Daisy Ann - you will have to read the book to find out how she fits in.

Daphne is now in California with her girls after divorcing Jackson and getting him to sign off his rights to the girls. When her oldest daughter starts acting up and begging to go see her dad Daphne must make the difficult decision to go back to Connecticut where her ex husband and abuser is or risk her daughters happiness.

With Jackson in jail serving time for tax evasion Amber is making her plans to leave Jackson and live her new rich life without him. When her plans do not go as she thought she has to make a new plan and make a deal with the devil aka her husband Jackson.

Jackson wants Amber out of his life and he wants Daphne back in. They form a plan together to lure Daphne back and for Amber to lead a new life while trying to escape her past. Jackson and Amber hatch a plan to make Daphne look really bad so he can get immediate custody of the girls in order to force Daphne's hand back into his home.

What are the lengths you will go to save your children? Will you go back to an abuser? Will you wait it out and let the law do its job? These are options Daphne must choose between.

As for Daisy Anns part in this story she is a rich girl from Texas and she is desperate to find out the truth about what really happened to her father.

This book had me on my toes the entire time trying ti figure out how all of these paths cross and what will happen in the end. There were twits and there were turns and there were a few OMG moments. I absolutely loved this book.

Pick this book up and find out for yourself if Amber and Jackson get what they deserve. Does Daisy Ann find out the truth? Is Daphne able to finally free herself from Jackson and protect her girls? Pick thi
s book up on June 18th and let the story unravel.

Thank you Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group for this ARC opportunity.

I really enjoyed the first book so I was super excited to read this one. Unfortunately, this one didn’t live up to the first one. It dragged on some areas and I found the characters to be a bit unlikeable. I really love Liv Constantine too, but it just wasn’t my favorite of hers.

I will begin by saying how much I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish. I read it back in 2018 and really do not remember the intricacies of the plot. The sequel, The Next Mrs. Parrish, did not hold my interest in the way that the first book. The characters are totally unlikeable and it's difficult to understand the actions of one of the main characters, Daphne. I was hoping that the book would be one that I did not want to put down. Instead, I found the twists and turns to repetitive. Perhaps this is one sequel that should been written closer to the release of the original book. I am still a fan of the writing duo, Liv Constantine. Thanks to NetGalley and Bantam publishing for the ARC!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Next Mrs. Parrish
By: Liv Constantine
Publisher: Random House Publishing Group- Ballantine
Pub Date: 6/18/24
This is the second book to The Last Mrs. Parrish thriller. I’m so excited that the sisters chose to continue the story so we could catch up with everyone.
Amber is back right here on the page. She hasn’t changed a single bit and is still scheming, just as cunning and overly confident.
Jackson is out of prison, he wants the first Mrs. Daphne Parrish back. Small problem there he’s still married to Amber. And Daphne wants nothing to do with him.
Daphne makes a diabolical mistake and takes the girls back to see their father. She found out purely by accident that Jackson had been in communication with the girls. Tallulah is bound and determined to have her Dad back. Jackson plays his normal games and continues to try to control everything.
Daisy Ann is still determined to prove Amber killed her father in cold blood. But can she?
The way these characters are so intertwined with each other is just pure genius. I absolutely loved revisiting this world.
Thanks to Random House, NetGalley and Lynne and Valerie Constantine for this ARC.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bantam an imprint of Penguin Random House.

In this book Amber, Jackson, and Daphne are back. Some time has passed since the first book and Jackson has just been released from prison for tax evasion. Jackson has plans to get his daughters back and hurt Daphne for leaving him. I got about 50% in and this book was just not for me.

Where to start. I just finished the Last Mrs. Parrish yesterday and never expected that the sequel would be so good that I’d read it in one day!! If you liked the first, you will love this one even more!!

I really enjoyed this book and looked forward to picking it up. I love nothing more than a thriller with a multiple point of views!! Also the twists were done so perfectly, and it didn't feel like they were shoved down my throat at the very last second! Well done, really enjoyed this.

Jackson is going to be released from prison. Amber put him there and finds joy in having done so. She’s living the life she wanted all along - designer clothes, big house, staff on demand. But the money is running out - not only did the IRS and government seize his assets and property, but the lifestyle Amber has grown accustomed to isn’t cheap. She and Jackson hatch a plan to get more cash quick. Why these two trust one another is beyond me. The scheming and slimy behavior is top notch.

Daphne, Jackson’s first wife, moved to California with her daughters, Talullah and Bella, from the east coast. Their father, Jackson, left behind. Talullah struggles with the separation from her dad. Depression and a deep desire to see him overtake any sense of rationale for Daphne. She decides, for the betterment of her daughters, to return to Bishops Harbor. As a victim of domestic abuse, this decision isn’t made lightly. Jackson claims he’s a better man - a changed person. Any narcissistic would. Going in eyes wide open this time, Daphne doesn’t believe a word he utters.

Daisy Ann just *knows* Amber killer her father. The death was ruled accidental by those in law enforcement but she just KNOWS. When Amber happens to be at an event Daisy Ann is also attending, the dormant fight in Daisy Ann returns. She will stop at nothing to find out who Amber really is and prove her guilt. A devoted, if not obsessed, daughter to be sure.

Super fast paced thriller that will have your anxiety hopped up to 10. I loved this more than the first one.

Amber and Jackson are *still* the shittiest people. They have no redeeming qualities. None. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

Daphne and Daisy Ann - while not horrible characters - weren’t fully fleshed out, IMO. I didn’t necessarily need them to be but some might find them lacking.

HOW. EV. ER. This book was amazing and kept my attention from page one. The way my anxiety spiked when Jackson was on the page - literal heart racing - is a testament to the story told and the writers’ ability to evoke these emotions from us.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for my review.

Oh man, I love a book that has characters that you just hate! I had to put this one down a couple times because I got so frustrated and so angry for Daphne. Great book and a great sequel.

This was binge-y, a fun follow-up to a book that I loved, but I didn't love this one quite as much.
*
I liked the parts with Amber and Daisy Ann (I definitely recommend reading the prequel!), that was fun to see how that played out, and was different from the first book. I didn't enjoy how the book brought Daphne and Jackson back together again. It made me so frustrated while reading it, how easy it is for a rich man to control a woman, and I appreciated that this churned up feelings. But the twists didn't quite land as well, when you know all the characters and exactly how awful they are and what to expect from them.

Overall, it's a good beach read, it's fun if you like to read about rich people being awful, but I'm not sure it was a sequel that was needed.

This book was REALLY good! I thoroughly enjoyed THE LAST MRS. PARRISH; it's one of those books that you think about a lot after you read it, so when I found out the Constantine sisters were coming back for round two, I couldn't have been more thrilled to pick it up. I did feel like the pacing was slightly off at times, but that's truly my only complaint. I loved learning more about Daphne and Amber (both seeing how Daphne grew in the aftermath of leaving her relationship and discovering Amber's past) but I ADORED the introduction of Daisy Ann. Especially being from Texas, I could tell that the authors used great care in their description of Dallas (both geographically and culturally) and I appreciated the accuracy.

I loved the way this one wrapped up - the good and the bad both get what's coming to them and there couldn't be a more satisfying ending. This is a well-written soap opera and I'm so excited for it to debut next week!
