Thanks so much to Random House Ballantine and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book early! The previous book in the series, The Last Mrs. Parrish, is an icon in the genre and features one of my favorite twists of all time. I wanted to love the sequel, but unfortunately I thought it was a miss.

I was absolutely bored to death for the majority of the book. The characters are flat, one dimensional, and continue to make baffling decisions. Daphne doesn’t seem to have learned anything, Amber is horrible but has no depth, Jackson is still Jackson. There was lots of rehashing of the first book. We have a new character, Daisy Ann, who’s out for revenge on Amber, but even her chapters were slow paced and boring.

On the whole, I felt like the book did not add any value to the original story, and it was a struggle to get through. I am a fan of Liv Constantine though, and will continue to read her books!
Good summer read. I loved how it tied in the previous book and the novella. I felt like the last few chapters were sort of a diversion from the rest of the story however.
Not too shabby my friends. This is a book I will be thinking about for a while and telling others they need to pick up too. Thank you
This book was just as good as the first!!! Kept me on my toes and loved how there was a sequel to the first!! Will be recommending to my book club!
While everyone else seems to like this author and this series, I just can't get into it. It was ok, but it kind of dragged on. I did eventually finish it, but it wasn't my favorite.
To prepare for reading this book, I reread The Last Mrs. Parrish, which is one of my favorites from years ago! I also listened to the prequel (which I had no idea existed!) and it really added to my reading experience of the sequel. I’ve seen a few reviews from people saying they didn’t think this book was necessary, but I have a feeling they didn’t know about the prequel. Because I had learned more about Amber’s story, I was able to make connections that others maybe weren’t able to. It didn’t have the same twists that most readers loved from the original book, but I was entertained and really enjoyed this reading more about the stressful lives of the Parrish’s! Thanks for sharing the early copy with me to read and review!
I LOVED The Last Mrs. Parrish so I was really excited to get the chance to venture back into Daphne and Amber’s story again. This book was STRESSFUL in the best way possible. There were several times I caught myself clenching my jaw or noticing my shoulders were almost up to my ears. The twists just kept on coming! The story absolutely kept me intrigued and clamoring to see where it would go next. There were a few times I did think the characters were naive, ESPECIALLY after what happened in the first book, but their actions and decisions did keep the story moving in exciting directions so I can’t complain too much. I will say, the ending is EXTREMELY satisfying. Anyone who enjoyed TLMP will most likely enjoy this one too!
CW: gaslighting, mentions of abuse, toxic relationship, violence, child abandonment, body shaming, forced institutionalization, murder, injury
Thank you to NetGalley and Bantam for an advanced digital reader’s copy in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish and was honestly surprised that there was a sequel as I did not find there was anything missing at the end. Unfortunately, I did not walk away from this one with such positive feelings. The characters were horrible - I really disliked Amber and Jackson. I struggled to identify with literally one word that they said. I found that Daphne, who I felt for in the first book, especially after standing up for herself and getting out of a bad situation, was weak, whiny and annoying in this book. The book moved slowly, the different perspectives did not work as well as I would have liked - but this may have been because I disliked the characters so much. I have overall enjoyed Liv Constantine's writing, but this book just was not necessary in my opinion.
Amber's husband, Jackson, is in prison for tax-evasion. He is getting released in a month and they are running out of money to continue living a lavish lifestyle. Daphne finds herself living near her ex-husband, Jackson, as their daughters want to see their father. Daphne still does not trust him, despite his claims to change in prison. When a risk to all their futures is thrown at them, they find that they have to work together, while questioning who they can really trust.
Thank you netgalley for my advanced reader copy.
I enjoyed this book, but there were times when it reminded me of those horror movies where the monster won’t die. Just when you think things will be ok, another bad thing happens! So I felt a bit tense reading this book, but in a good way, I guess. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was truly excited to read this book. However, it was not well written, repetitive and just overall choppy and disjointed. There were no likable characters and very difficult to believe the storyline. I would not recommend.
What a rollercoaster!! It felt like whiplash with all the twists and turns. I didn’t know what was going to happen.
The characters we love to hate are back. Jackson and Amber. LOATHEE ENTIRELY.
But of course we have Daphne, who is fighting to get away again.
I didn’t know there was a novella, First Shot, to be read before this. Definitely read it.
A twisty domestic thriller that was left with a possibility of a third book? I actually liked this one better than the first.
I loved, The Last Mrs. Parrish, and was thrilled to receive an advanced copy of this book!
Unfortunately, it did not live up to the expectations I had for it. I just couldn’t believe that Daphne would under any circumstances had contact with Jackson after the abuse she had endured. I cont believe she would have exposed her daughters to him either. So that basically ruined this book for me.
Again, I gave The Last Mrs Parrish 5 stars and couldn’t get enough of it, but this book seemed unnecessary and too far fetched.
The Next Mrs. Parrish did not disappoint! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ As always, the authors did a fantastic job of providing different viewpoints through the book and kept you guessing what was coming next. Whether you were rooting for Daphne to find a happy ending with her girls, for Amber to get caught in (or out of) another mess, or for Daisy to find retribution, the authors delivered beyond expectations. My only recommendation would be to read/listen to The First Shot (the prequel to the series) before hand. I did not and it would have explained a lot, and made it more interesting! If you liked this book, be sure to also check out another great book by these authors - the Senator's Wife. Lots of the same twists and turns that they are known for!
Thank you to NetGalley and both authors for providing me with an advance copy.
I was a huge fan of The Last Mrs. Parrish. So of course I had to rush and request when I saw that Liv Constantine was coming out with the long awaited sequel.
This book was the perfect follow up to The Last Mrs. Parrish. Of course, we are met with Amber who is up to yet another scheme and Jackson who claims to have changed since his time in prison. It was so good to see Daphne growing and thriving in a life without Jackson. I also loved the new character who comes into play and boy was she not coming to play.
This book was a great follow up and had everything that I want in a domestic thriller. It had suspense, twists, betrayal, secrets, lies, deceit, solving a murder, and more. I also loved the cliffhanger ending. I’m hoping that means another book is in the works. If you haven’t read this series, I strongly recommend it.

3.5 maybe a four star. I went into this book with HIGH expectations because of how much I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish. I devoured that read. I loved the continuation of Amber, Jackson and Daphne. Daisy Ann was a nice new addition, I was curious to see how she was going to fit into the story, in the end she fit in perfectly. Can’t wait to own the paperback copy! Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to advance read and review this book!
This is the sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine, so if you haven’t read that book yet, come back to this review after you have so you don’t see any spoilers!
To be completely honest, I did not love this book. 😬 I had high hopes because I liked the first book and I thought the twist was juicy and well done! The writing style wasn’t my favorite but it was fun and quick read.
However, I felt like this book was a little unnecessary. Daphne spent a decade with a horrible and abusive man and I just don’t believe that she would ever go near him, let alone let her daughters near him. And what kind of therapist would convince her that was a good idea??
The author tries to justify it and make it all make sense at the end by bringing Jackson and Amber to justice (for real this time), but it just didn’t do it for me 🫤
And the writing style still wasn’t my favorite lol
Overall, if you need an easy thriller to read by the pool this summer, and if you liked the first book, maybe give this one a try! Just don’t expect it to be as good as the first one 😅
The Next Mrs. Parrish will be available on June 18th!
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House for this advanced copy! ✨
Wow. Just Wow. 😳🤩
The Next Mrs. Parrish is the exhilarating sequel to psychological thriller The Last Mrs. Parrish.
The Next Mrs. Parrish leaves off with Amber Parrish finally getting all the wealth and power she deserves. Her Husband, Jackson Parrish, is currently serving time for Tax-evasion and she’s left to reign over Bishops Harbor with all the time and money to do whatever she would like. But when a skeleton from her past is revealed everything Amber has worked for is at risk of crumbling.
After her divorce, Daphne Parrish fled Bishops Harbor with her daughters and never looked back.
Vowing never to return.
That is until Jackson is thrusted back into their lives. Wanting to make mends and swearing he’s changed.
Daphne, reluctantly, agrees to take her girls back to Bishops Harbor for the summer.
While, promising to stay safe from Jackson’s manipulating and controlling behavior.
With a whole range of lively and engaging characters, The Next Mrs. Parrish will leave you wanting to know what happens next. Anxiously turning each page as this mind blowing story unfolds.
This series was absolutely amazing. I read all three books (The Last Mrs. Parrish, The First Shot (Novella), and The Next Mrs. Parrish) back to back and it was the best reading experience.
The way the authors weaved all the characters lives together only to reveal how they were intertwined at the end, was absolutely incredible.
After how the 1st novel ended, I was reluctant to read the sequel. I felt that the 1st novel had given me enough closure that I was comfortable saying goodbye to the characters.
I could not have been more wrong!
This book was so exhilarating and thrilling that I was feeling some of the same emotions the characters were.
If you are a fan of gripping diabolical thrillers, I highly recommend this series.
Thanks to Net Galley, the authors, and Random House publishing for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book in exchange for my honest opinion and feedback.
I absolutely loved The Last Mrs. Parrish back when I read it quite a few years ago, so I was thrilled to see more of Amber in this next installment!
I definitely think it's helpful to read The Last Mrs. Parrish and the novella, The First Shot (the prequel) before reading this one, however I barely remember The Last Mrs. Parrish and the authors did a good job reminding me what I may have forgotten.
This was a hard one to rate because there were things I loved and things I didn't enjoy as much. I really liked the toxic characters and their pretty wild behavior- it made it fun to read because it was just that unbelievable. I wanted to know what would happen and how the book would end which kept me intrigued.
What I didn't love was the pacing. It started a little slow and then I felt like a lot of the time chapters felt repetitive.
I am landing at a 3.5 for this one!
If you are looking for a quick binge-read game of cat and mouse with a whole crew of unlikeable characters, check this one out!
Thank you to the publisher, author and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Pub Date 6/18!
Imagine my surprise when I saw one of my favorite reads from a few years back was getting a sequel! I loved reading the “what happened next” for Jackson, Amber and Daphne. And even being introduced to Daisy Ann! This book had a much quicker pace than the first, however, for me, there was too much going on and I didn’t love the plot. I definitely recommend this read to all who read book one, it’s a must! 3.5⭐️
Thank you to Bantam for providing me with an advanced readers copy of this title via NetGalley.
3.5⭐️ rounded up
This book had me stresssingggg. Could Amber and Jackson be any more unlikeable? Amber’s chapters were so hard to read, I was rooting so hard against her.
I really liked the introduction of Daisy Ann and how she tied into everything. I was on edge the whole time and liked how everything wrapped up in the end.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
