This book wasn't my favorite. I had such high expectations after the first book in the series so I think it was a let down from that. I still flew through it, but was finding most everything unrealistic and more wanting the book to be over. The first one in the series remains one of my favorites, but this just didn't live up to what I wanted it to!!
This book was absolutely amazing. I would totally recommend it. It was better than the first. I couldn’t put it down. Read it in two days thank you NetGalley.
The Last Mrs. Parrish is probably one of my favorite psychological thrillers of all time because of the unexpected twists. I was super excited to read Amber's backstory in The First Shot and it definitely prepares the reader for The Next Mrs. Parrish which continues the saga of Daphne, Amber and Jackson. The book is told from the perspectives of Daphne, Amber and my new favorite badass character Daisy Ann.
I don't want to ruin it for anyone that hasn't read the first two books in the series, but I'll just say that Amber and Daphne and Jackson were very true to character. Daisy Ann is definitely a combination of Amber and Daphne and she's the shrewdest one of the bunch, She's a real badass and probably my new favorite character!
I can't say that I loved this book quite as much as the first, because I had never read anything quite like The First Mrs. Parrish before. However, it is still full of twists and turns and backstabbing and conniving and definitely worth reading!
Thank you so much to Random House Publishing Group - Ballentine and NetGalley for this complimentary ARC. The publication date is June 18, 2024.
I was so excited to be able to read this early! Thank you Random House publishing group-Ballentine for giving me this opportunity. When I first saw it I fell in love with the cover but actually did not realize that it is a sequal. I went back and read The Last Mrs. Parrish before I read this one and it was nice to have the back story on all the characters. However, this one could be read alone. You may even be more surprised by the twists in it if you go in unaware. I usually don’t like the new characters being added into a second book but they made me like the new characters almost more than the old ones.I really enjoyed the suspense and found myself being surprised even though I thought I knew what was going on. These were my first books by these authors and I am intrigued that they wrote them together and will definitely read more of their books! Thank you again for the opportunity to read this early.
I didn't realise this was a sequel so I felt out of sorts with this. Unfortunately, I couldn't get book 1 soon enough to complete this and as such I read this with no idea what was going on
Surprisinly it didn't make me want to dnf or postpone - Instead I had some ups and downs and want to read this again once I read book 1
I absolutely devoured "The Last Mrs. Parrish" so when Netgalley and Random House Publishing gave me the opportunity to read an arc of the sequel I was thrilled! I do recommend reading the novella “The First Shot” before reading “The Next Mrs. Parrish” as it will introduce you to the new character Daisy Ann (one of the POVs) and give some of Amber’s backstory. Liv Constantine has you hooked from the very beginning. This book was a wild ride, every time you think you knew where this was going to go, there were twists and turns and a roller coaster of emotions, and that ending, oh boy. It kept me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next. I loved the short chapters and different points of view between Daphne, Amber, Daisy Ann and Jackson. Jackson & Amber play such good villains. I never knew what they were going to do next. I enjoyed the ending and felt that every character was where they deserved to be. I was cheering for Daphne throughout this whole book and so glad she got the closure she deserved. Thanks to Liv Constantine, Random House Publishing Group-Ballentine, and Netgalley for giving me early access in exchange for my honest review! I absolutely cannot wait to read the next book by Liv Constantine.
I really enjoyed this book! I loved the first one and was very pleasantly surprised how much I liked this sequel as well. These characters are so twisty and fascinating; this is one of the few books I can say that I hate the characters but still really enjoy the book. This book is so fun and binge worthy. Definitely an excellent summer read!
The Next Mrs. Parrish is the sequel to the Last Mrs. Parrish. While I loved the original book, I did not enjoy the sequel as much as the original. The sequel introduces another character in the mix with a fairly interesting storyline, however it felt a little forced in the end trying to tie everything together neatly. Rather than being able to see how the story lines could potentially tie together as you are reading, the author has to explain everything all at once which is what felt a little forced.
That being said, I still found it entertaining and personally always appreciate shorter chapters, as it’s easier to want to keep reading just one more chapter!
I’d recommend re-reading the first book before the sequel as I had forgotten a lot of the storyline (not that you need to know exact details to enjoy this book, however it might make it more fun to read).
I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish and wanted to love the sequel, too. Unfortunately, it fell flat for me. I found the characters overall unlikable and the twists left something to be desired. The book felt too long and had a hard time keeping my attention.
Yes! I needed to know the rest of the story for Jackson, Amber & Daphne. This had me from the first chapter. I love how each chapter is from each characters perspective. I loved the new characters introduced and how the story twists and turns & ends with a nice bow on the end! I laughed, was scared at times thinking they wouldn’t get out of their predicament, & cheered at times. This book has it all… suspense, drama, friends, love, etc.
Thanks Netgalley!
I loved the Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine so was so excited to read/listen to the next installment.
Daphne, Jackson and Amber are back and the crazy twists keep coming. A new character Daisy Ann is introduced as Amber’s ex husbands daughter. There’s a web being woven amongst the three characters throughout the book. I love a good domestic thrill with people behaving poorly and this one fits the bill. I would say it’s not as great/surprising as the first but I still found it wildly entertaining.
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House for the ARC of The Next Mrs Parrish. I enjoyed The Last Mrs Parrish by Liv Constantine so I was excited to read the continued story of Daphne and Amber. I appreciated the addition of Daisy Ann’s Story line, and the rawness her character brought to help further develop Ambers role within the Parrish Family. At times the plot felt a bit choppy and confusing, but overall the unexpected twist(s) really drew me in to how this story was able to be wrapped up. I really did like being able to go back to Bishops Harbor again for a continued but new journey of these characters.

I was so happy to be approved for this ARC. I read the first book in the series “The Last Mrs Parrish” last year and loved it so naturally I was excited for this one. We are reacquainted with Daphne, Amber and Jackson as well as a brand new socialite Daisy who is also out for revenge. The book gives off the vibes of New York housewives but with scandal, lies, money and vengeance. I have to say I still have a strong distaste for Jackson and Amber. They are the ultimate villains and just when you think maybe they have changed their ways they are once again scheming. I liked the introduction of Daisy and seeing her connection to Amber come into play. The book is written in multiple POVs from Daphne, Amber and Daisy so you really get a sense of what they are each going through. The book was very much a cat and mouse chase, and about 3/4 of the way through it felt like it was kind of dragging along. I was ready for things to start wrapping up. In true Liv Constantine fashion, the ending was suddenly filled with twists and turns I was not expecting and really enjoyed. Overall I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend to anyone who read first book and want to see how everyone ends up.
A huge Thank You to NetGalley and Bantam publish group for this ARC and of course Liv Constantine in exchange for my honest review!
The Next Mrs Parrish will be released 6/18 so mark your calendars!
I remember when I first read The Last Mrs. Parrish. It was one of the first books in that psychological thriller genre I had read. I felt shocked by the twist, and it is one book I will always remember. Now I feel like there are many similar, but there is so one like the duo of Liv Constantine.
Thank you St Martin’s Press for this early eARC copy because this has been one of my most anticipated summer reads. I was excited to see where this sequel went, and honestly I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.
Overall I really enjoyed this one. We were back with Daphne and Amber, and get both their POV as well as a new character, Daisy Ann. But I guess I have watched too many crime shows, and read too many books, I kept wanting to shake Daphne and be like why are you not recording these phone conversations, why are you not writing this down, why are you not … to whatever was going on. There were so many of those missed moments, but I guess we needed the story right?!
I feel like this was a good ending for these three although I do feel like a door was left open so it makes me wonder if we will get another down the road.
Thank you Netgalley and St Martins for this early copy to read and review.
Are you #TeamAmber or #TeamDaphne? This gripping saga continues involving betrayal, deception, and vengeance. Who will win this treacherous game of getting even before their world crashes down around them? Who is the cat and who is the mouse in this twisted tale? This thriller is intense and hooked me immediately. The conclusion left me breathless with every shocking twist and turn. I was definitely on the edge of my seat during every nail-biting moment. Thank you, NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for my copy.
Please give me a moment while I pick my jaw up off the floor.
Liv Constantine has brought us back to Bishops Harbor and into the life of the Pattersons. Amber Patterson is loathing the day her husband Jackson is released from prison and is planning her way out. Daphne Patterson has been living in California with her two daughters, finally free from her ex-husband, Jackson. And yet Daphne decides to.return to Bishops Harbor for the summer to allow her girls to see their father. Sounds like a recipe for disaster, right? There is drama galore, plenty of scheming, and twists that will make your head spin.
I highly recommend you read (or reread) The Last Mrs. Parrish along with the prequel, The First Shot. And then be sure to grab The Next Mrs. Parrish because it does not disappoint!
Thank you to NetGalley and publisher for a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I thought this was decent! Honestly it's been so long since the first book came out that I forgot what happened and it took me a while to get re-immersed into the story. It's essentially what you would expect out of a follow up, lots of twists and turns and characters that make you want to pull your hair out. I would recommend it to anyone who likes domestic thrillers.
Very mixed feelings about this book.
This is the sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish. I did enjoy that book. This continuation starts pretty much where the last one left off. Daphne is having trouble with her daughter Tallulah wanting to see her father, Jackson. Jackson is in jail and now married to Amber, the queen of all gold diggers. Daphne decides to take the girls back to see Jackson for the summer. Obviously he gets up to his old antics' and a whole lot of drama and crazy ensues.
First of all no one who has been abused should ever go back. And no therapist would advise to do so, not if they are legitimate. I understand that there wouldn't be a story if Daphne didn't go back but that part of the story is just awful to me. I will say I flew through this book as I couldn't put it down. I loved the addition of Daisy Ann. I love hating Amber and all her horrid selfishness. But Daphne making bad decision after bad decision was tiresome. EVERYONE including her lawyers are telling her no but she decides yes? It didn't make any sense. I also thought Jackson's ending was rushed and unsatisfying, even if he's a jerk.
Thank you to Random House and NetGalley for the eARC of this book.
As a huge fan of The Last Mrs. Parrish, I was very much looking forward to this book. The first one had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, so much so that I finished it in one day. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for this sequel. The story fell flat, with the end result being basically the same as before it started. I wasn’t really rooting for anyone in particular, except the children, and the drama felt very over the top and a little ridiculous. I wish I would have loved it, but this just wasn’t what I hoped for.
I really liked The Last Mrs. Parrish, so I was excited to read this sequel; however, it fell a bit flat for me. There weren't too many twists or exciting events to hold the reader's attention. This sequel was more about wrapping up any loose ends from the last book and giving an update on characters, to me. Introducing Daisy Ann and her family's story was obviously to include some sort of spin on the old tale, but I just found Daisy Ann to be grating and annoying. Her story wasn't really thrilling because we knew the truth about Amber killing her father. Overall, the book was entertaining enough to finish, but it's not something I will be raving about to friends.
