Perfect follow up to the original book. I ate this one up. This is one of those authors where whatever they put out, you read because you know it’s going to be great.
This is the continuation of Jackson, Daphne and Amber’s story. I was so excited to read this as I had just finished the first book. I did enjoy it but almost felt like the first book should have been it. At times this book felt like it was working too hard to give the characters new endings they deserved. Each character got the ending they should have but they also did in the first book. I don’t want to say much to give away the ending but Daisy Ann quickly became a favorite character. I felt like she was well developed and could have had her own story.
3.5 stars!
I was SO exciting to finally read this. I really enjoyed the first one but this one was just really frustrating to read. It wasn’t bad but it did feel a bit too long but I still liked it.
I think this book can also work as a standalone because it does give you a bit of summary of what happens on the first one. No character has ever made me as mad as Jackson and Amber do!
The ending was actually really statsifying and enjoyed the last 20% of the book so much more.
The Other Mrs. Parrish was one pf my favorite books ever that restarted my love of reading again. That is why, when I saw that there was a sequel, I just knew I had to read it. The Next Mrs. Parrish did not disappoint and proved to be just as good. I really loved adding another main character to the mix as it added another backstory that helped with the suspense. What a great read! I look forward to more Liv Constantine novels in the future.
I LOVED The Next Mrs. Parrish and I was THRILLED to get this sequel!
I wonder if it has been too long since I’ve read the original, or if I should have read the prequel (I didn’t know about a prequel until I saw another reviewer mention it) before I read this one, but it just didn’t have the same feel or appeal for me.
Amber is an atrocious character, Jackson is a sociopath, and everyone else (other than Daisy) is forgettable.
I did think Daisy was a good addition.
I just wasn’t invested in this like I wanted to be. I do think many readers will eat this up, and may even like it more than the original, but it was just not for me.
I enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish (book 1) , The Next Mrs. Parrish was not to my liking. I found it to be slow and extremely unbelievable.
Daphne was so annoying and continued to make one bad decision after another one.. At first I was unsure who Daisy Ann was and how she was relevant to the storyline.
This one didn't work for me and hopefully, I've seen the last of Mrs. Parrish.
Thanks to Net galley and the publisher for the digital ARC.
I was lucky and received an ARC of this book! I loved the first one and was so excited to dive back into the story with Daphne and Jackson. This one adds in a little more backstory of where Amber came from and just how diabolical she is. This one has multiple POV and goes back and forth between the characters. I enjoyed it, but got hooked and couldn’t stop about 80% of the way through! If you enjoyed the first of this series I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one as well!
Amber and Daphne are back. Amber does not disappoint and continues to be a horrible character. I feel like Daphne redeems herself in this one... she was a little bit evil in the last book, but her love for her daughters forces her to stand up for herself and play the game a little bit more. You really need to read The Last Mrs. Parrish before reading this book to understand the characters and appreciate the story. I enjoyed the sequel just as much as the first book. There are some new characters and new twists that keep you guessing - who can you trust? who will survive?
An entertaining psychological thriller with a satisfying ending.
This was a fun follow up to the first book. I would definitely recommend it to my friends - after they read the first book, of course!
📚BOOK REVIEW📚
📱”The Next Mrs Parrish” by Liv Constantine
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
To be published June 18
Thank you @netgalley and @bantam publishing for the ebook
Revenge is something Amber Patterson Parrish deserves ten-fold. She has worked for years to cultivate this socialite persona and after marrying Jackson (in “The Last Mrs Parrish) she has finally arrived, however the money is running out. This novel begins right where the previous left off- Jackson is in prison for tax- evasion.
Daphne Parrish, Jackson’s first wife and mother to his young teenage daughters left Bishops Harbor wanting never to return after her divorce. When one daughter runs away wanting to see her father, Daphne puts her own fears aside and agrees to summer in Bishops Harbor.
Enter in Daisy Ann, an enemy Amber has truly under estimated. Filled with lots of twists and turns, drama and back stabbing I will always be a Liv Constantine fan.

Wow!!! A sequel that exceeds the first in all areas! I don’t think you need to read the first book in this series to follow along. There is enough information though out that will help you catch on to what is happening. Suspenseful and fun, you won’t want to put it down!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this arc!
Welcome back Daphne and Amber!! I plowed through this one! Such fun! I do recommend The First Mrs. Parrish first so you can fully understand and appreciate these mostly despicable characters, but I guess you don't have to. I don't want to give anything away, but if you liked the first one, this one is more of the same. And that is a high compliment! Now, if you read the prequel that came out a few years back, some of the first part is a retelling of that, but no worries. Still enjoyable! Basically Mr. Parrish is being released from jail. Amber is less than thrilled, and Daphne comes back so her daughter can see her father. The story is told from several POV's. Absolutely loved the ending!
Thank you to #NetGalley, Liv Constantine and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Bantam for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
I will post my review to Amazon, Facebook and other retail and social media sites upon publication of June 18th.
The Next Mrs. Parrish is here!!
Before diving back into Bishops Harbor I went back and read The Last Mrs. Parrish and I’m so glad I did. I remember loving it and it was such a big hit - but I honestly forgot so much of the smaller details from when I read it in 2018. I would definitely recommend reading it before you dive back into Bishops Harbor land!
With that being said, I had pretty high expectations for the second book. I will say that I enjoyed it. I loved the cover, loved diving back into the insanity that is Amber, the cringe that is Jackson, the Daphne that you scream at not to get herself back into this mess!!!
We have a new POV in this one: Daisy Ann. I was confused about Daisy Ann’s role for quite a bit and thought that could’ve been tied in earlier in the plot without giving anything away.
Overall, I didn’t find myself rushing home to get to it, or forsaking other new releases for it, but when I was reading it I was engaged and enjoying it…and I think that’s what we’re all looking for in a good read!
I would overall recommend it, especially if you enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish.

The sequel to the wildly popular, The Last Mrs. Parrish, this story picks-up months after the other ended.
Amber is back, still conniving and scheming for more riches. Jackson being released from prison, so begins the cycle again only he wants Daphne back. Together, Amber and Jackson plot a plan thats mutually beneficial to the both of them. Daphne agrees to come back east for the good of her daughters, but can she believe Jackson's claims he's a reformed man.
Just like the first, the twists, turns and suspense will keep turning the pages until the jaw-dropping ending.
Thank you, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Bantam
Captivating and fast-paced, this is an easy tear-through-in-one-day read. The characters we knew and loved (or loved to hate!) are here plus a few new ones. The sub plots are engaging and interesting. I like the way Constantine puts her twist on the female stereotypes - that all mothers love their children, that women are each others' own worst enemies, etc. Well done and satisfying!
I've read both The Last Mrs. Parrish and The First Shot (prequel), so I was definitely prepared to read this one. I've enjoyed this series thus far, including the new addition to the series. As always, it is entertaining and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. I would highly recommend reading The Last Mrs. Parrish before reading this, even if you don't make it to the prequel (though I highly recommend that as well).
Gut-Wrenching, Clever and Most Satisfying
SUMMARY
Amber Parrish has almost everything she ever wanted: money, power, and prestige. However, her husband, Jackson, is in prison for tax evasion, and their finances are running low. She plans to leave him, take what money he has left, and flee the country before he is released from prison.
Daphne Parrish, Jackson’s first wife, now lives in California with their two daughters. When her eldest daughter runs away to see her father, Daphne feels she has no choice but to take her daughters to visit him in Bishop Harbor after his release from prison, despite her reservations.
Daisy Ann, raised in Texas, owns a successful jewelry line designed by her mother. She has been searching for Amber since her father's funeral, and the two women have unfinished business.
REVIEW
Fans of The Last Mrs. Parrish will love The Next Mrs. Parrish. I read The Last Mrs. Parrish just before reading this one and am so glad I did. While not absolutely necessary, it certainly makes for a well-rounded story.
The story is fast, tight, gut-wrenching, clever, and very satisfying. Need I say more? The writing is masterful. It’s full of twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat. It’s brilliantly plotted, and everything fits together like a hand in a glove. You will not want to miss the ending of this unpredictable tale.
The characters are robust and diverse. You will love some, and you will love to hate others. Congratulations to the authors on their imagination in creating such villainy while also creating several strong, thriving female characters.

The domestic drama continues! I wasn’t sure what was going to happen in this book after the first one, but I was pleasantly surprised. These books are ones you love to hate because the characters are so horrible. I am glad that this book had Daphane and Daisy Ann. When they first brought in Daisy Ann, I wasn’t sure how she was going to fit in but Liv did a great job weaving all of the characters together. This book was full of twists, lies, deceit and I am glad some of the characters got what they deserved. I enjoyed this book.
Thank you, Net Galley, the author, and the publisher for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
In addition to reading Book 1 of the Amber Parrish series, I think I was one of the few that finished the 2020 prequel, The First Shot. This latest release is about half filled with a retelling of that prequel, I’m guessing since so many never read it. With so much repetition I often was bored and wanted things to move faster. Entertaining at times but not much more than that as I was left wanting more. Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing - Ballantine for an early copy in exchange for my honest review. The Next Mrs. Parrish will be released on 6/18/24.

Thank you NetGalley & Liv Constantine for the free ebook arc of this book for my honest review
I enjoyed this way more than the first book. I devoured it in a few sittings - it was a wild ride that left my jaw on the floor a few times. I was rooting for Daphne and angry with her at the same time. Amber and Jackson are the worst (so well written because the authors really had me hating them). Daisy Ann - I guess was an added person to root for but also somewhat unnecessary.
The worst character though? Tallulah. I said what I said. IYKYK
I highly recommend this book!
