I am so glad that we got a book two after The Last Mrs. Parrish - and even more grateful to have received this ARC! The adventures of Daphne and Amber continue, and let me tell you the plot just continues to thicken. There was more drama, more twists, new plots, new characters and POVs and it was another book I couldn’t put down! I loved the sweet revenge and how it all tied up and we finally received the closure so desperately needed after the whirlwind of events that unfolded in Bishops Harbor.

Thoughts

We are back with Daphne and Amber right where we left off in the first book, The Last Mrs. Parrish. I read the first book a year ago and really enjoyed the twists throughout, so when the sequel was coming out, I was excited to see where the characters went. There are some books that I feel deserve a sequel and those are few and far between. This is one that I feel was not necessary to continue. While I did not think there needed to be a continuation of this story, I did enjoy being back in this world one more time. I love narrators/characters that are untrustworthy and especially stories with psychological elements, so if that is something you enjoy as well, start with The Last Mrs. Parrish.

Amber and Daphne are thrust back into each other's lives upon the resurgence of a long-forgotten threat that poses danger to both their lives and forces them both to reconnect with the abusive and conniving Jackson Parrish. For fans of the first book, you will remember Jackson as the husband who seemingly has it all, but we continue to see more of who he really is in this one. Since it had been a while since I have read the first book there had been some details that I had forgotten, but I do feel that the major points are noted so reader's can still keep up with the storyline.

Overall, this one was just less memorable to me than the first and felt unnecessary. If you loved the first book, you might enjoy continuing with these characters, but if not, I would pass on this. This publishes June 2024.

This book is the follow up to The Last Mrs. Parrish and picks up where the story leaves off with Daphne Parrish returning to her abusive ex-husband to appease their rebellious daughter. We find that the relationship between Amber and Jackson was more of a business arrangement in it's final stages than a true love story. In order to let Amber out of the arrangement, Jackson wants Amber's help in getting Daphne and his girls back for good. I hesitate to write this review because I believe that this book has the potential to be a five-star read for many people....just not for me. It was not Liv Constantine's best work, in my opinion. I did however enjoy the ending of the book as I feel it gave closure to the story that many fans of the storyline were craving. I would definitely add this to my library collection no matter what my personal feeling about the book are because it will be a best seller and patrons will demand it.

The Next Mrs. Parrish was a thrilling, page turning story that was truly enjoyable. Familiar characters and a satisfying ending!

This book made me toss my kindle and cover my face in shock! I really enjoyed the continuation of Amber, Daphne, and Jackson’s story, with the addition of Daisy Ann. Amber is still so hateable, and Jackson still makes my skin crawl, but every story needs a villain (or two)! Very enjoyable read, but also curious, will there be another book after this?!?!

I received an ARC of The Next Mrs. Parrish from Net Galley for an honest review. I would say this is a 2.5 rounded up to a 3. I enjoyed the first book in this duology, however I found this sequel to be a bit too far fetched and forced. The book revisits the same characters from the first book- Jackson, Daphne, and Amber. There was also a new character, Daisy Ann who is the narrator of about 1/3 of the book and plays a very far fetched role throughout the story.

This book picks up where the last book left off and we find Jackson getting out of jail and Daphne living in California. However, she goes back to the East coast based on the wants of her daughters and the same manipulation begins. I found the actions of all of the characters to be infuriating and unlikable. The relationships were all toxic. There were too many storylines that had to connect in the end and it seemed too unbelievable I found myself getting bored and I would say the author should have just left this series as one solo book.

This is the sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish. Amber and Jackson are still married, but Amber is anxious to get out of the marriage before Jackson is released from jail. Jackson has been serving time for tax evasion because of Amber turning him in. Jackson is anxious to be rid of Amber and her scheming ways and wants to get Daphne, his first wife, back. Daphne has been living in California with their two daughters and wants nothing to do with Jackson. She is forced to go back to Bishops Harbor after the oldest daughter try’s to run away to visit her father. The therapist that has been seeing Daphne and her daughters believes it is necessary to spend the summer in Bishops Harbor so the girls can spend some time with their father. As a reader, you know this is a recipe for disaster but you can’t wait to see what will happen. A person from Amber’s past appears and presents another storyline. Are the different lines going to intersect? Will these despicable characters get what they want or will justice finally catch up with them? The story moves along and is very nerve wracking in spots. The manipulation and psychological abuse from the first book appear throughout this book as well, so beware of those triggers. The book held my interest but it wasn’t as good as the first book. I give the book 3.5 stars out of 5.

Thank you to the publisher and to NetGalley for this digital ARC in exchange for my honest review. The book is set to be published on June 18, 2024.

It's been awhile since I read the first book in this series but I didn't remember all the characters being so unlikeable as they are in this book. No one seems to think about consequences either. Amber reacts in a selfish matter when she discovers the treasure on the boat, but never considers there may be a criminal element to the reason they are there, and by taking them may put her in jeopardy. Daphne lets her adolescent daughter Tallulah call the shots and moves back to be near an abusive ex-husband without considering how careless and stupid such a move may be.

This book is very much about mothers and children. Amber is a wild card - she's a bad mother who sees her son as a chance for opportunity. She loves Jax but only when it's convenient. Daphne is trying to be a good mother, while denying that letting her girls see their father may not be in their best interest. Daisy is honoring her mother's legacy at the cost of doing business.

I was also put off by how certain events are explained by characters afterward in a tell, not show manner. The plots for revenge (and all the steps they took to happen) would have lent more mystery and suspense if we were shown them happening as they occurred.

I'm giving the book 3 stars because I like revenge stories. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review.

This book can be read as a stand alone. I read the first book of the series and it was in my top 10. The sequel delivered. The story continues with the sweet, but naive, first wife. The second Mrs Parrish did not improve with age. Mr. Parrish continues his machinations and received his just desserts. It;s a page-turner with a few unexpected twists. The second half got more exciting, 5 stars, I love this book.

Thank you to @netgalley and @RandomHouseBallatine for this ARC. This is a sequel so I am not sure I can describe the story without giving away the first book. It is a continuation of the story of Jackson, Amber and Daphne with a new addition of Daisy Anne. I found myself yelling out loud - NO and WHAT and NO WAY! If you liked the first book, you will enjoy this one! And...who doesn't love the sister duo Liv Constantine? #TheNextMrsParrish #LivConstantine #June2024 #RandomHouseBallatine

Sisters Constantine did it again! I was not expecting a sequel, and normally don't love them, but this title was just as good as the first book.

Amber is a character I love to hate. I actually do have some admiration for her, because she is CLEVER.! I devoured this book in one sitting, forfeiting sleep and slacking at work just to see what happens to that twat Jackson. If you want to read about abuse, control, con artists and love triangles, you have come to the right place!

I enjoyed this book and read it quickly. There was a lot happening and sometimes far fetched but overall it was another great read by Liv Constantine. Thanks for the arc of this book!

I was so excited to learn that this book was coming out!! I loved “The Last Mrs. Parrish” and this sequel was just as thrilling. Thank you to Net Galley for the chance to read this!

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC copy of this book for me to read and review, what a treat!

First off I have to say, reading the prequel, The First Shot, is an absolute must do before diving into this one! You won’t truly get the full experience without it.

This sequel left me on the edge of my seat! I was cheering and screaming out as all the twists and turns unfolded. What a great follow up to an already thrilling story. I wasn’t sure how she could continue on with the same storyline from the first book, but she did so beautifully!

I must say though, I’m scratching my head a bit at the title. Not sure why it’s called the Next Mrs. Parrish as it alludes to a new wife. But it’s a great read nonetheless!

It’s been a few years since I have read The Last Mrs. Parrish and upon requesting the sequel I realized my review of the former was not very high. However, after completing the Next Mrs. Parrish I realized this was due to the predictability of the first novel which was not present in the sequel. The introduction of new better developed characters also added to my overall estimation.

Amber is back at it, a master manipulator and heartless villain, scheming her way through the rest of Jackson’s money. Jackson is just as vile as we remember, but this time he begins his time in prison. Daphne is finally free of the abuse, but is dealing with the aftermath of the divorce and how it is affecting her daughters. Daisy Ann is introduced as a Texas heiress with an unknown connection until about a third of the way through.

Though Amber is completely vile, I enjoyed reading her segments in the hopes she would get what was coming to her. I also enjoyed getting to know Daisy Ann and her obsession over getting justice for her father. Unfortunately, Daphne was just meh…like we’re back here again. She easily falls prey to both Jackson and Amber and I was just over her.

Overall, this novel is a quick thrilling read that pulls together nicely in the end. Do not be hesitant in picking up the sequel if your opinion of the first wasn’t quite as high.

The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine
Publish date: June 18, 2024

I was such a fan of the first book, The Last Mrs. Parrish, and could not wait to get my hands on this sequel! This book was no disappointment for me. The characters picked back up where the first book left off, and I felt like I was just continuing the story with no gap between reading (and it had been a while for me). I think one of the coolest things about the authors (Lynne and Valerie Constantine = Liv Constantine) is that they are many miles apart while writing separate chapters, and put together these masterpieces of books. It truly is different perspectives of the characters, written by two different people.

This book has a few different character perspectives, easily differentiated, and some you will love, some you will despise. There is a bit of murder discovery, not exactly a mystery on who did what, but a twist at the end heavily hints at there being a third book. This will keep you on the edge of your seat trying to wish your way into one character's head and wondering why she goes along with all that she does - but I promise it all makes sense in the end. I cannot wait to see if these turn into movies!

Look for this book to publish June 18, 2024. Thank you so much to Netgalley, Random House Publishing Group, and Liv Constantine for this early read, prior to publishing date.

This is a great sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish but it can also be read as a stand alone book. This novel does tie up all the loose ends of the characters in the first book with many twists and turns and several surprises toward the end all the way to the final pages! I loved how each character came full circle and I had a hard time putting the book down. I just wanted to keep reading “ just 1 more chapter”!
If you liked the first book and want to visit Amber, Daphne and Jackson again, then read this book! Even Daisy Ann makes a return! Liz Constantine has written another thriller that is impossible to put down.

Thank you, NetGalley and Bantam for the advance copy! I

Amber and Daphne are back! The Last Mrs Parrish is one of my favorite books of all time, so I had high hopes for The Next Mrs Parrish. This book really takes you deep into the minds of the characters and shows you how depraved some of them can be! I was least excited to read the Daisy Ann chapters though, as I felt her story was a little disjointed from the others. However, everything tied together nicely in the end. This did not live up to the first book for me, but it was a solid read nonetheless. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Oh boy, The Last Mrs. Parrish was one of my favorite thrillers that I have read in quite a long time. I didn’t feel the need for a sequel, but I’m so glad we got one! This one was even better than the first book and that is so hard to come by. I normally don’t read sequels to books unless I’m fully invested, and I was FULLY invested in this one! The authors expanded on the story in such a fun, more high stakes, exciting way and I was so here for it! This was a 5 star book for me from the beginning to the end. I felt that every character got their due diligence and the story ended in such a fantastic way in my opinion. Again, I lived for every second of this book!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I thoroughly enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish and was excited to receive an ARC of The Next Mrs. Parrish. For me, the best part was Daisy Ann. Every woman needs a Daisy Ann in her corner – someone who will have her back and fight for what is right.

The rest of the characters were meh. Jackson is still a, well, I can’t really use the word to describe him. Amber is self-absorbed and pretty one dimensional. Daphne did evolve since the original novel.

I flew through the book, so if you’re looking for a quick read, it will fit the bill. Overall, I don’t feel The Next Mrs. Parrish compares to the original, as most sequels are hard to beat the original.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the Advanced Readers Copy in exchange for my honest opinion!
