I’m not sure I like this as much as the first book. I was really annoyed throughout the whole story. While I was pleased Daphne escaped from Jackson once again, I strongly believe that her character did not grow or improve. She still came of as a pushover and gullible. After everything she went through, she seemed to not have learned her lesson. Her trauma and ptsd from the abuse were not properly addressed and treated in my opinion. If you were gonna make a second book, I think the protagonist must show some growth and strength to her character. I didn’t get any of that.
She escaped with the help of other people.
And that Tallulah girl. Ugh. She was annoying till the end. Daphne couldn’t even discipline her own child.
These are just my two cents.
Thank you for the ARC.
I was surprised that there was a sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish, as I thought that book wrapped up nicely. However, I loved that book, so I had to check out the follow-up! While not quite as good as the original, I still found this to be an enjoyable read.
I love the first book "The Last Mrs. Parrish. It was one of my favorite books of all time. I was so excited to see a sequel. I think the book started off a little slow but I found that it picked up at the halfway point. In this sequel, Amber is back and more evil than ever. Amber is currently married to Jackson Parrish, who is just out of prision for tax fraud. Daphne decided to return to Bishop Harbor for a limited time after her daughter Tullulah has acting out due to missing her father.
Daphne planned to have limited visits with her controlling ex husband. However, Jackson had a different plan. The book is full of twists and turns as Jackson goes back to his old ways and is trying to win over his one true love Daphne. In the book we also meet a new character named Daisy Ann. I wasn't sure how she would fit into the storyline but it turned out to be refreshing. I also really enjoyed the details of Amber's life so you could get a glimce of why she turned out to be a vengeful person.
Thank you to Random House Publishing Group and Netgalley for the advance copy.
Thanks to RH-Ballantine & NetGalley for providing a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.
If you thought that the people from The Last Mrs. Parrish couldn't get any worse, you're in for a surprise. Honestly, I found it really difficult to re-engage with these characters. They're all so awful (or, in the case of Daphne, TSTL)! Amber? Worse, but now with delusions of grandeur. Jackson? Recently released from prison, but just as bad, has learned *nothing*, and thinks he can win Daphne back (just, you know, she has to be a size 4 again). Daphne? Waaaaaayyyyy too trusting, again, and she really should know better by now. She does a lot of "protecting the kids" from knowing what a POS their father is.
There are a few new characters to flesh out the trail of shittiness that Jackson and Amber go down, and they are fine. I didn't feel particularly connected to any of them, but they moved the story along.
I knew what I was in for with a second book, but I doubt I will read another. The Constantines' books are always full of creeps, but this series is just too much for me. Your mileage may vary! And the ways they come up with the have people double-cross one another are very inventive!
“Who’s afraid of little old me? You should be.”
The Next Mrs. Parrish is out this summer, June 18th. Mark your calendars because this is a definite beach read!

I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish so much, that when I found out there was a sequel being written I could not wait to get my hands on it. When people ask me for recommendations, it is always one of the first books that come to mind.
I was a little surprised that there was a sequel being written because I thought the first book wrapped up nicely. The sequel wasn’t quite as good in my opinion, but it certainly didn’t disappoint, either.
Daphne and Amber Parrish are thrust back into each other’s lives upon the resurgence of a forgotten threat, forcing another game of cat and mouse.
Constantine does a great job of transitioning between multiple POVs while keeping a good pace. While it did not have as strong of a major twist like the first book, it still has so many smaller plot twists that keep you guessing where everyone will end up. It kept my adrenaline up and my female rage high.
Huge thanks to Random House - Ballantine (@randomhouse) via @netgalley for the digital advanced copy!
Thank you to NetGalley for the advance ecopy of this title. In this sequel, Daphne Parrish has made a new life across the country, and Amber Parrish is plotting a way to abscond with her husband's fortune while he is in prison. Daphne wants nothing to do with revisiting her past, but her daughter pushes for time with her father. Daphne makes the mistake of returning east with her daughters for the summer, where she is, again, gaslighted and mentally abused. Meanwhile, Amber's grand plans are on the brink of collapse. Will Daphne be able to free herself again? This sequel is fast-paced and equal to, or even better than the original. Highly recommend!
I loved The Last Mrs.Parrish! I was so excited when I found out a second one was coming out. I couldn’t believe I was given an ARC of The Next Mrs.Parrish! It was just as good as the first one. There was so much suspense. I honestly had no idea what to expect everytime I turned the page. Daphne decides to go back to Bishops Harbor so the girls can see their dad. Daphne knows she can’t trust him but she wants her girls to be happy. Did she make a mistake coming back? And Amber doesn’t know what she’s going to do now that money is running low. She will do whatever it takes to get money and doesn’t care who gets hurt during the process. There were so many shocking twists and turns. I loved how it ended. I would mind a third book! I would definitely recommend this book! Thank you so much Random House Publishing Group- Ballantine, Live and NetGalley for the ARC!
This book was nicely written although I found it to fall flat and didn’t like nearly as much as the first one. I couldn’t connect with the characters and lost interest.
This was a solid sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish. There were so many twists & turns but the one grapple I had was there were WAY too many new characters. After almost every chapter I found myself stopping & saying “wait..who is that person again?” I will say however, we do get the ending we want & revenge is oh so sweet.
Many thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. Hitting shelves in July!
This ARC was gifted to me by Bantam Publishers in exchange for a honest review. All opinions are my own and have not been swayed in anyway.
As a huge fan of "The Last Mrs. Parrish", when I found out a sequel was being written I could not wait to get my hands on a copy, and let me be clear this book did NOT disappoint.
I was not sure how the sequel would go, given that the ending of the last book was wrapped up nicely, but once again Liv Constantine did not let me down. I loved how all the characters stayed true to their original selves from book one, but still kept you entertained by their antics. Daisy Ann's character was a smooth addition to the mix and through the multiple twist she quickly became one of my favorites.
I do have one complaint, and it is no different in this book than any other book with the same plot but can we please stop writing southerners as these hilly billy like characters who talk in hyperbole and idioms all the time. It's honestly exhausting. I mean we live in a diverse country and it is so painfully obvious that these stereotypes are just that STEREOTYPES. Daisy Ann was a woman of old Texas money and wealth and at times I felt she was written like an uneducated woman who married into money. It just did not flow for me and I think it took away from the plot at times. This is just a personal pet peeve but I would be remiss if I did not mention it.
Overall, this book is a great sequel for those who loved the original, I love how everything from the first story was wrapped up and answers were given. Without spoiling too much I believe everyone got what they deserved in the end and the twist were not predictable. It was a great and easy read and the pacing was perfect. Sequels are not often done well, and most of the time seem pointless or almost ruin the first book entirely but I do not believe this is one of those.

Review: I couldn’t contain my excitement when I saw there was a sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish. I absolutely loved the first book but I didn’t really know how the authors were going to pull this off with such unlikable characters in the first book, but they did flawlessly.
The book starts off with Daphne returning to Bishops to have her girls see Jackson who is released from prison. Jackson swears he is a changed man and is spending the summer with Daphne and the girls. It also introduces a new character, Daisy Ann, a Texas woman out for revenge. Amber is at the center of both of these groups, causing more trouble than ever.
The book is so well written, balanced and has so many twists that you do not see coming. With the first book, the characters were so unlikable, we have another character to root for which was nice. Jackson and Amber are still deplorable and awful human beings, but k enjoyed seeing how far their would push it.
I loved the pacing of the book. The entire time you are at the edge of your seat waiting to see how this will all play out and if the antagonists will win or con their way again. What I absolutely loved was the ending. It was the perfect way to end the book, so fitting that I gasped.
I highly recommend this gripping, well-written domestic thriller with a such a satisfying ending. Put this on your list asap.
Liv Constantine does it again with her psychological page turning thriller. I could not get through the book fast enough. The way the characters intermingle and tie together was epic! Must read!!!
Part one of this book was recommended to me. I REALLY enjoyed it so I was so happy when I found out that there was a part 2. Is it just me or do you get excited when you find a book that you can’t put down until you finish it. This was one of those books for me. Highly recommended!!
These books are what suspense fiction is all about!Liv writes books that have all the components that make you want to stay up all night to get to the end!!! The pace, the tempo, the writing, it is a perfect storm!!! I love and despise the characters in these books, Liv is a master at her craft!!!
I wasn’t sure where or how their stores would continue, but I was so pleasantly surprised! Amber schemes her way through life and the things she got away with, shocking! Jackson was your typical dirtbag, but the lengths he went through to get what he wants, just absolutely devious. And Daphne, continued to be so strong willed. The additional character lines tied beautifully with the story. I’m so happy their stories continued. It’s my next bookclub pick when it is released!
I’m always hesitant with sequels but this book was just as good as the first! I ate up every minute of it! Just when I thought I knew what was happening I was thrown for a curve ball! 5 stars!!
In this sequel, Daphne is thrust back into Amber and Jackson's lives at the behest of her daughter. Schemes abound and everyone has an end game of their own.
This follow-up to "The Last Mrs. Parrish" was a really fun read. It managed to keep the vibes of the first one without feeling too much like it was rehashing the events of the last book. Much like the first, the sheer audacity and downright villainy of some characters was infuriating - but in a good way.
If you enjoyed the first, I definitely recommend giving this one a read!
I liked this, I didn’t love it as much as the first but I kept my attention and was a quick read. I have loved everything Liv Constantine has written and this was on theme with that! I will continue to read anything they write!
If you enjoyed The Last Mrs Parrish, you won’t be disappointed with this sequel. (Highly recommend reading the first one before diving into this book!)
Yet again you will find yourself hating a character and being pissed off 😂. Each chapter leaves you hanging and wanting to keep going. I felt as if everything tied together really well and kept you guessing all the way up to the end.
Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you @randomhouse for the advanced copy! This one was amazing! I liked it more than “The Last Mrs. Parrish.” Plus, there’s nothing better than sweet sweet justice.
If you haven’t read “The Last Mrs. Parrish,” spoilers ahead. The Last Mrs. Parrish ends with Daphne leaving Jackson and moving away. Jackson is in prison for tax evasion and Amber has stolen him away from Daphne, and she’s pregnant.
“I see that for Jackson, cruelty and kindness grow in the same garden.”
Two + years later…. Daphne and her girls are doing great in California until Daphne’s older daughter runs away in an attempt to go back to Connecticut to see her father, who was just released from prison. Daphne reluctantly agrees to spend the summer in Connecticut, where she sees Jackson on the regular. Amber is still in the picture and engages in a bitter rivalry with someone from her past. This brings trouble to Amber and sheds light on her life prior to Connecticut.
I didn’t realize how much this story needed a sequel. It was so so good. I loved new empowered Daphne. I couldn’t put this one down. This is told in first person rotating between the three main female leads with one chapter from Jackson’s point of view.
