I really enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish a few years back, although my mind was fuzzy on the plot when I picked up this next book. Luckily you don't need to remember much to read this one, and I quite enjoyed it! The authors did a great job of incorporating enough twists and turns and making us love Daphne / Daisy Ann and despise Amber / Jackson. Parts felt like they moved a little too quickly (i.e., barebones details that were written just to show that things happened), but this would be a great quick beach or plane ready.

I did not realize there was a book #1 when I started this book.
So was confused at times and had some trouble following the story. Was a slow read and took a while to pick up.
Amber has sent her husband to prison for tax evasion.
Jackson is now out of prison and funds are getting low.
Twists and turns was a well written thriller.
I need to go back and read the first book.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House/Ballantine Books for the opportunity to read the book.

📚 PRE-PUBLICATION BOOK REVIEW 📚

The Next Mrs. Parrish
By Liv Constantine
Publication Date: June 18, 2024
Publisher: Random House Publishing Group - Ballentine

📚MY RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

📚MY REVIEW:

Everybody is clamoring to get their hands on this highly-anticipated sequel from @livconstantine2 and I was THRILLED when I got an advanced copy!! Some of y'all have been waiting nearly 7 years for this one...But since I was late to the Parrish party, I finished The Last Mrs. Parrish over the weekend and immediately picked up the sequel!

We drop right back into the crazy lives of Daphne, Amber, and Jackson - picking up pretty much where the last book left off. I loved the addition of the new character, Daisy Ann, who breathed new life and a little Texan sass into the story. There's some retelling of major storylines from the first book (helpful after 7 years), so if you didn't read the first one you won't be entirely lost.

**Don't skip it though. It's sooo good! **

Like the first book, this is told from multiple POVs and has short chapters, so it's as bingeable as its predecessor. The first book was everything I wanted in a domestic thriller and I hoped the sequel would keep up that same level of salaciousness, with the twists and turns I loved and expected.

Sadly, I just didn't feel the same thrill. After the whirlwind of the first book, the twists in the sequel were too short-lived and came too late in the story for me to have enough time to fully savor them. And I had to suspend my disbelief several times; I didn't always buy into Daphne's choices (she's smarter than that!) and I grew tired of Amber's entitled whining. But I did read the books back to back, so maybe I'd enjoy the sequel more with more time between books? Possibly.

If you like a good domestic thriller, you'll love this series. I highly recommend this! A big thank you to NetGalley and Random House - Ballentine for gifting me this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!

THIS BOOK WAS EVERYTHING I LOVE AND WANT FROM A LIV CONSTANTINE BOOK!

I'm sorry for yelling at you, but I'm so happy that this was as fun as I knew it would be! I read THE LAST MRS. PARRISH a long time ago and was worried I may need a re-fresher before diving into this one, but as soon as the story started and I read the character's names, it all came back to me! It was so much fun to be back in the (crazy) world of Daphne, Jackson and Amber and to meet some new characters along the way.

Since I know I will be asked, no, you don't HAVE TO read THE LAST MRS. PARRISH in order to understand and enjoy this book. Should you read it? Yes! I don't think you'll be able to go back and read THE LAST MRS. PARRISH after THE NEXT MRS. PARRISH without having a lot of the twists spoiled for you.

I am a huge Liv Constantine fan and therefore always know what to expect from them (sister-writing duo team in case you didn't know):

- An instant hook
- CRAZY and unreliable characters
- Pages that turn themselves
- Farfetched plots (i love them for this)
- Satisfying ending

This book delivered all of those things! I definitely would say this one was even BETTER than the THE LAST MRS. PARRISH and I think it's going to be a huge hit!

I do feel like there were a couple parts of this one that were a little more risqué than I remember their books being in the past sooo you've been warned sufficiently!

This will be available on June 18th!

4.5 stars rounded up for GR

Yalllll @livconstantine2 has done it agaaaain!

5/5 ⭐️

First things first — before reading this read the prequel “The First Shot” before getting into this one. It’s a short novella (120ish pages) that sets this book up perfectly.

Okay I loooveed this book. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I felt all the emotions towards all these characters. TMMP is a fast paced thriller that will have you turning pagessss.

That damn Amber Parrish y’all 😅

I honestly would read another book in this series 👀

This book comes out June 18th but the novella is out now!

They’ve done it again! Liv Constantine’s The Next Mrs. Parrish delivers more twisted plot lines and your favorite characters. The fast-paced and suspenseful writing keeps the pages turning as the much anticipated sequel unfolds.

Daphne and Amber Parrish are back as the two attempt to untangle their lives from their deceptive husband, Jackson. When Jackson is released after serving time for tax evasion,
Amber’s finances and persistent social climbing are threatened. Meanwhile Daphne reluctantly returns from California to Bishop’s Harbor in order to give her daughters time with their father. This story of revenge and deception set in suburban Connecticut lived up to my expectations!
Fans of The Last Mrs. Parrish will be thrilled with the sequel.

Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the advanced reader’s copy.

I could not put it down! This book kept me on my toes the entire time!! This sequel definitely lived up to my expectations and the transition was immaculate from the first book. 5 out of 5 stars!!

After reading The Last Mrs. Parrish a few years ago, I was excited to get approved for the ARC of the next book in the series. I was debating doing a re-read of the first book to refresh my memory, but the second book gives most of the context that the reader needs, and can even be a stand alone novel by itself.

In The Next Mrs. Parrish, Daphne, Jackson, and Amber are at it again, with a new character, Daisy Ann, added to the mix. All of the characters continue to be unlikeable, even the ones that the reader was supposed to sympathize with (Daphne, Daisy Ann) which made the book harder to read and enjoy. I did appreciate the multiple perspectives, however was confused that Daphne was the only character written in first person, Daisy Ann and Amber were both in third person.

The plot line was pretty slow throughout, however by the time I got to the end I was racing through trying to figure out what happened - which is one redeeming factor to the book. The ending was a bit predicable, but I liked that each character had their story line resolved. As a healthcare worker, whole scene with Jackson in the hospital made me cringe, and I wish the author would have found a different way of finding “justice” for him then a permanent disability.

If you loved the first book, I would recommend picking this one up. If not, it will probably be a miss for you. Ultimately I gave it three stars. Although I did not love this one, I am so grateful for the chance to read this ARC- thanks NetGalley and Random House!

Thank you Netgalley, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, and Liv Constantine for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

In The Last Mrs. Parrish, we left Daphne Parrish finally free from her ex-husband Jackson’s control and starting a new life with her children in California. Back in Bishop’s Harbor, Jackson was facing incarceration for financial crimes leaving his manipulative new wife Amber to raise their son alone. The Next Mrs. Parrish picks up a bit later when Jackson’s prison sentence is coming to a close. Daphne must return to Bishop’s Harbor to give her now teenage daughter time with her paroled father. Amber, desperate for a place in high society, seeks financial gain upon Jackson’s release. This becomes more difficult when a figure from her past appears and accuses Amber of murder. Though their marriage is loveless, Amber and Jackson must team up to obtain what they each want most. For Amber, that is money and status; for Jackson, it is Daphne.

Another roller coaster from Liv Constantine and I was completely here for it. I wasn’t really sure where we had to go from the ending of The Last Mrs. Parrish, but I will read anything these authors write and I definitely enjoyed the ride. Much like the first novel, we have multiple POVs to get a complete sense of the storyline. Amber is the perfect character we love to hate and we have the addition of the new POV from Daisy Ann, also an enemy for Amber. I enjoyed the different thought process we see for each character and it adds depth to the narrative. I thought that there were some parts that felt a bit rushed, particularly through the last third of the book. That said, we have a complete story for each character and the ending was incredibly satisfying. For anyone who was missing the drama at Bishop’s Harbor over the past few years, don’t miss out on this! The Next Mrs. Parrish is expected to release on June 18.

So I did the unthinkable- I read this one before I read the first book. Which probably isn't the best thing to do honestly but I didn't have any preconcieved ideas about whether this would be amazing or not based on if I liked the first one. Customers have raved about book 1, and I can see that this follow up may not be the same level but I liked it. I would say if you love love loved the first book, don't jump right into this one immediately. Give yourself some time to miss the character and writing. By itself it's an ok book and storyline but standing it next to book one makes this look a bit less. Love the cover tho!

As a person with a history of DV this book was extremely hard to get through. It was extremely triggering to read how someone who had gotten out of a DV situation got manipulated back in. I almost DNF'd but I wanted to push through to see the characters get their punishment. I literally wanted to throat punch all of the characters.

Liv Constantine books never disappoint. She is an always read author for me. I loved the Last Mrs Parrish, so I was very excited to get approved for the ARC of the sequel. I have to say, I think this was even better than the first book! I didn’t think I could dislike Jackson anymore than I already did, but Liv Constantine made it happen! From the very beginning, the story moves quickly and there are lots of twists and turns to keep your attention. The twist towards the end shocked me and I was a bit worried how it would end, but all was made right. Great characters and great ending, this one is worth the read! Thank you to Net Galley and Random House for the advanced copy.

I had such high hopes for this story but unfortunately it just fell short. I absolutely loved The Last Mrs. Parrish so I was so excited to get the ARC for The Next Mrs. Parrish but the storyline just didn’t capture my attention and make it a must read for me. The characters were definitely diabolical and terrible. The kids irritated me and the ending just made me mad.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book. When I was invited to read this I literally dropped everything else to read this as I did not even know there was a sequel coming out!

This was a very entertaining book with delicious twists and turns as the first book did. Revenge makes for a good book. Definitely recommend.

I was so excited to receive an ARC of this book because I absolutely loved The Last Mrs. Parrish.

I do recommend reading the prequel before reading this book, it’s called The First shot.

I do feel like this book could’ve been about 70 pages shorter. There were some details that were too wordy for me.

Overall, the story was good and I really liked the ending.

I could not manage to finish this book. It felt very repetitive and dragged out. Thank you for the opportunity to read it, but I just couldn't do it.

This was a great read and I really enjoyed the story. I did feel like the ending was a little flat compared to the drama build up in story though. Still would highly recommend it.

Picking up where THE LAST MRS. PARRISH left off, the THE NEXT MRS. PARRISH catches us up with the scheming Amber Patterson Parrish. Jackson Parrish, in jail for tax evasion is due to be released from jail, to Amber’s displeasure, who has worked her way to the top of high society in Bishops Harbor. But her money is running out and her problems are piling up. Daphne Parrish thinks she is safe from Jackson and that she has escaped her old life, but her daughter, homesick for her old life and missing her dad, runs away and Daphne realizes that this chapter of her life hasn’t been closed at all. Add to this mix a vengeful figure from Amber’s past and it’s a recipe for disaster, surprises, and plot twists and turns that you’ll never expect. I liked this book—it was fun and readable. Some characters were more well drawn than others but altogether entertaining.

Yooooo a new favorite thriller! Will for sure be recommending this one to friends. I did not guess even ONE of the plot twists. So unique!

I couldn't get through the first half of this book. It felt disjointed & ridiculous. Also - whose therapist recommends someone get in touch with their abusive ex husband & who actually takes that advice? I'm sure this will come into play later on in the book, but I just couldn't get there. DNF.
