LOVED IT! I honestly could not put it down!
I was a big fan of The Last Mrs. Parrish so when I saw there was a new one coming out, I was very excited. I hoped Jackson, Amber and Daphne would be as devious as the first Mrs. Parrish. While this one was not quite as cunning, it definitely made me wonder how Daphne would get out of this mess yet again!
Overall loved the book, had a question or two about the diamonds. However, I loved the rest. Super entertaining and enjoyable to read.
Advance reader copy provided by NetGalley and Random House Publishing but all opinions are my own.
I'm a huge fan on Liv Constantine and loved The Last Mrs. Parrish. When I received the arc to this one I was extremely excited and couldn't wait to see what was next for Daphne and Amber. While this was still entertaining and had a good amount of twists it unfortunately does not live up to the first book but sequels rarely do. That being said I definitely enjoyed this book and the writing style and wanted to see what would happen to all the characters. I will for sure recommend this one and continue to read whatever Liv Constantine writes in the future. Rating this 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars. I want to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
This book is the second in the Mrs. Parrish series. The plot jumps nearly right in where the last book left off, regarding the different characters and the plot lines that were tied up at the end of book one. What was hard for me about this book was that I didn't find any of the characters likable or that they had many redeeming qualities. Even Daisy Ann and Daphne who should be the likable victims weren't developed enough to make me want to align with them, besides deciding that they were right given their particular situations.
Overall, the story was slightly convoluted and there were a lot of plot points and storylines to keep track of. I just think that this series for me doesn't hit on all cylinders and if a third book comes out I think I would take a pass.
I was so excited to get an ARC of this book! Thanks to Netgalley and Random House/ Ballantine books for the ARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the authors had written a sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish. I had forgotten the author's name is a pen name for 2 sisters! This made me appreciate the writing even more for some reason. Since finishing the book, I have learned there is a novella The First Shot that is recommended to read before this one. With that being said, I did not and was fine - but I do want to read it now.
Being someone that reads a lot, I often forget the plots to many books. The Last Mrs. Parrish stuck with me, but I did appreciated the overview of what happened in the first several chapters of this book. There was just enough detail to remind me of the characters and the plot of the first book.
This book is another psychological thriller that had me gasping at times. At moments, my heart was racing. I felt like I was with the character and it was almost like I was watching a movie. Like the first book, I hated a couple of the characters and was frustrated with others. This did not stop me from wanting to read more. The last 15% of the book had me not wanting to put it down.
This book has my recommendation! It comes out in June, so will be a perfect poolside read
Wow I could not put this book down! The twists and turns throughout the novel had me guessing until the very end. I enjoy this authors use of multiple POV and how she labels each chapter. I was so happy to dive back into the world of Daphne and Amber again after enjoying the first book in this series and it didn't disappoint.
Such mixed feelings about this one. The Last Mrs. Parrish has held strong as one of my favorite books for years. I loved how unexpected the twists were. So when I saw a sequel I knew I needed it. I was granted access to it early as ARC. I enjoyed jumping right back in to the drama in the triangle that is Jackson, daphne, and amber.
I thought the writing was solid and Liv did a nice job of revisiting the events of the first book without it being too tedious or boring. With that being said, did I think a second book needed to be written? Unfortunately no. The first book portrayed Daphne as smart and cunning, so to see her wind up beneath Jackson’s thumb again I found myself super annoyed. A lot of the daphne Jackson storyline I just felt was so screamingly unfathomable.
Insert Daisy Ann-the new character to the game. I loved the development of her character and the chaos that ensues between her and amber. I feel like her character really saved this book in my eyes.
So overall, the writing is great. Does it compare to the first? No, but do they ever? Would I recommend it? Yes.
I was so excited to get an advanced copy of this through Net Galley!
I LOVED The Last Mrs. Parrish and was so excited to read this one. Definitely make sure you read The First Shot novella before you read this one.
This was a great continuation of the story! This picks up after Jackson gets out of jail, and Amber and Jackson are still horrible, of course. I absolutely LOVED Daphne’s storyline in this one, and the addition of the character from Amber’s past was great. It was a bit slow to start, but once it got going, I couldn’t put it down! You definitely don’t want to miss this.
An absolute cluster of a book… felt like we were trying to put 900 things in it instead of focusing on one plot at a time. I know it was to make a dramatic ending, but it felt sloppy and rushed. It had its suspenseful moments so that’s why I would say 2 stars, but the ending was as ridiculous as the majority of the novel.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Amber, Jackson, and Daphne are back in this unexpected sequel to the iconic novel the Last Mrs. Parrish. It’s the followup story I never knew I needed but it was better than I could have ever imagined. Jackson is still just as evil, Amber is as self-centered and manipulative as I remembered, Daphne will stop at nothing to gain her freedom. A new face in the heart of Texas will shake things up for this trio and one things for sure- justice will be served. I absolutely loved this novel. Thank you NetGalley, the authors, and Random House Publishing Group for this advanced readers copy in exchange for my honest review. #TheNextMrsParrish #NetGalley
This was such a great book I finished it in 2 days! Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. If you loved the last Mrs. Parrish you will love this. Amber is up to her old tricks but even worse. Jackson swears he’s a changed man, and Daphne has to deal with both of them in order to keep her and her children safe. Daisy Ann was a great new addition and I’d love to see her in a book of her own. So good!!
5 Stars!!
Loved this book!
Love this author!
Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this ARC.
Hard to put down the story is so good with many twists, turns and keeps you guessing.
I have been looking forward to this book all year. Amber is back and is as always someone you love to hate. Will amber finally get what she deserves or will she finally get what she always wanted? This book was a quick read and I couldn’t put it down. A must read if you enjoyed The Last Mrs Parrish and One Shot.
Unfortunately this fell flat for me and I wasn’t drawn into the storyline at all like the first book. The characters still felt surface level and their decision making so questionable - it felt very forced and far-fetched.
This book picks up where the first one left off, and the action was nonstop! Both Amber and Daphne have fallen back into Jackson's clutches, and the reader is on a journey of how they will escape. If they can escape. We also are introduced to Daisy Ann who is also out for revenge against Amber. This one is full of twists and turns leaving the reader guessing who will be able to outsmart the other.
I am so so sorry to say- I hated this book. Did I finish? Yes. But I wish I wouldn’t have. I read The Last Mrs. Parrish years ago and remember that I loved it! But sliding back into this world was one eyeroll after the next. I hated the dialogue so much. It felt so fake because who talks like that???? The characters were infuriating. I absolutely cringey behaviorally and conversationally. It gets two stars, because Daisy Ann got her peace and justice was served to both Amber and Jackson.
Despite this book not being for me, I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to read it. Thank you!
I loved this sequel! After reading both books in the Mrs. Parrish series, I was so excited to continue this story with Daphne, Jackson, Amber, and Daisy Ann! This one did not disappoint! I loved the multiple viewpoints throughout this book and the fast paced action! Definitely a good read for fans of Liv Constantine! This will be a great summer thriller! 4.5 stars
Thanks to Netgalley and Random House Publishing for an ARC of this book in exchange
for my honest review!
I love these ladies’ works and loved continuing the stories from The Last Mrs. Parrish here! The twists and characters are so dark but I loved that we got justice in this book. Thank you so much for the ARC!!
Thank you to NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, and Bantam for the ARC of this sequel. The original story, The Last Mrs. Parrish, had been on my TBR list for quite some time. Once I got approval for this ARC, I finally went back to read it and loved it! You can then imagine my excitement to continue the story. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with how this story continued. We were introduced to a new character, Daisy Ann, who I enjoyed getting to know. The ending was a bit ‘meh’ for me. It felt like the twists and turns were going back and forth between Daphne, Jackson, and Amber and I was pretty over it after a while. I still really liked this…it was a good, solid sequel.
Make sure you have read The Last Mrs. Parrish and then The First Shot before reading this one.
I was thrilled when I discovered Liv Constantine was writing another Mrs. Parrish book. I couldn’t wait to revisit these characters’ storyline. Right off the bat you are remembered how unlikeable these characters are, and are once again immersed into their messy lives. These are the characters that you love to hate and I couldn’t wait to see what they would get up to.
This book was suspenseful, entertaining, and I couldn’t wait to see how the story unfolds. There were several twists that I did not see coming. The ending was satisfying, and I enjoyed how everything came together.
While this book is not quite as good as the first, it was a great thriller and I would recommend it, especially if you enjoyed the first book.
Read if you enjoy:
✔️Unlikeable characters
✔️Suspense
✔️Domestic thrillers
Thanks NeGalley and Random House Publishing Group in exchange for my honest review.
Picking up not far from where we left off, Amber is living the good life and Daphne has moved away with her kids but when Jackson is released from prison his desire to be back in his kids' lives throws a wrench into the girl's plans. Further disrupting their situation is Daisy Ann Briscoe, a wealthy Texan with a connection to the Parrishes. Daisy Anne's perspective adds a new dynamic this installment of the story.
I am a huge fan of The Next Mrs. Parrish, and while I enjoyed the writing, the story, the idea that this new person was going to come muddy the waters..... but I just did not like Daisy Ann. She was a stereotypical old money character flying here and there snooping around like a PI and she just never seemed like a real person. I could not get into her chapters, so it took me a lot longer to read this one than it did the last. That being said, I absolutely love Amber & Daphne and their dynamic and all their baggage so I really enjoyed those parts of the story. I guess overall I wish there could have been enough of a story with just Amber & Daphne, or maybe with a different new person, for me Daisy Ann just didn't do it.
Again though, really enjoy this author and the writing is good, I think anyone with a higher tolerance for obnoxious southern women will love this one as much as I loved the first! :)
