I did not like this one as much as The First Mrs Parrish. The main character was hard to root for in this book, making it a 3/5 for me.

I loooved the Last Mrs Parrish but didn't feel like there needed to be a sequel. I was excited to see this one pop up and was really looking forward to reading it and seeing where everyone ended up. I thought Daphne in this sequel needed a swift kick in the butt however. She fell right back into victim mode and lost all of her badass - ness from the first book. I actually really liked the addition of Daisy Ann this time around but that didn't really distract me from the annoyance I felt toward Daphne.

Not my favorite sequel

The Next Mrs. Parrish continues the story of Daphne and Amber as they deal with each other and the abusive and manipulative Mr. Parrish. It also introduces a third character whose story becomes intertwined with Daphne and Amber. While it was an interesting story and provided a satisfying ending, I did not find myself as engaged with it as I did the first novel.

This book felt very similar to the first book. I liked The twists but wish there was more to it. I felt Like details were left out and left the book wanting more.

Short synopsis: Follow up to the Last Mrs Parrish, read that and the Novella first. Daphne is safe in California, Amber is enjoying her husbands money, until Jackson is released from prison.

My thoughts: If you enjoyed the first two in the series you’re sure to enjoy this one. Jackson and Amber are just as savage and conniving and Daphne is just a great mom trying to do what’s best for her daughters.

The number of times my jaw dropped due to the audacity of Amber! I’m so glad I’ve never met someone like her before. I also really liked the POV from Daisy Ann and her seeking revenge on Amber. And that ending was the perfect way to end the series.

Read if you love:
- Unlikable and likable characters
- Multiple POV
- Thriller series
- Revenge and Justice

This highly anticipated sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish gives us an another back and forth between Amber Parrish and Daphne and picks up right where they left off. Jackson is being released from prison so Amber’s plotting begins. We learn how deceitful that Jackson and Amber really can be and witness Daphne doing all she can to keep her children safe. I would definitely recommend reading the first book if you’re interested in reading the sequel!

While I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish, the sequel unfortunately didn’t give me the same thrill. While there was a lot of suspenseful twists and turns, it all felt too far fetched. I have overall generally enjoyed Liv Constantine’s writing but felt this sequel was not necessary.

Thank you to Random House - Ballentine and NetGalley for gifting me this advanced copy to review!

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC. Honestly I feel like this sequel wasn't needed. I did enjoy it but it didn't really add anything to the story for me. Ultimately I did enjoy this book but not as much as book 1.

Rereading the first book in this series reminded me why I love a lil domestic thriller. I never thought there needed to be a sequel but this still ended up being good! Without going into spoilers, I loved that everyone got what they deserved. Liv Constantine's characters aways feel so real even if they are Evil. I had a really fun time reading this and I flew through it.

The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine is an exciting sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish, exploring the Parrish family's world of secrets, power, and manipulation. The novel is packed with twists that keep readers guessing, and the characters are well-developed, adding depth to the story. While you can enjoy this sequel on its own, reading the first book is recommended.

Overall, The Next Mrs. Parrish is a gripping read, perfect for fans of psychological thrillers, especially those who loved the first book.

I would like to thank Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

I was so ready to dive back into the story of Amber, Jackson, and Daphne, and this sequel was one of my highly anticipated of the year. I was immediately reminded just how much I despise Amber and Jackson!

Did I mention how much I detest Amber and Jackson? Because wow. You THINK you dislike them in the first book, but now you REALLY despise them. But man…do the evil get what’s coming for them. And that’s all I’ll give away!

I won’t talk about much else to avoid any spoilers. I do think the first book was more rooted in the thriller genre. While this is a domestic thriller, I wouldn’t necessarily categorize as thriller. Domestic fiction with suspense? You also have to suspend belief quite a bit more in this one.

I rated The Last Mrs. Parrish 4 stars. I loved it, and continue to recommend it to this day. Unfortunately, I did not like this book quite as much, so by default have to rate it 3 stars.

I think it’s possible to read this as a standalone, but to really have full scope of each character and the basis of half the book’s conflicts, I highly recommend reading The Last Mrs. Parrish first.

Thank you Random House Ballantine and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks for the ARC Netgalley! “The Last Mrs Parrish” was a decent thriller when I first read it, not incredibly well written but the plot kept me guessing. This is unfortunately an unnecessary and over the top sequel IMO.

Picking up about a year after the first book ended, Amber is plotting her escape from her husband Jackson before he’s released from prison for tax evasion. But this time, he’s one step ahead of her. Meanwhile, his ex-wife Daphne has tried to start a new life with their daughters but her eldest refuses to move on. She brings her family back to spend time with Jackson for the summer against her better wishes- and she should have trusted her gut.

Sigh. So much of this one was cringey for me unfortunately. It was unrealistic in its plot and dialogue. I was rolling my eyes! I’ve loved the sisters behind this pen name’s book “The Wife Stalker,” but this and their previous book “The Senator’s Wife” were disappointments for me.

This was a great gripping thriller with such a satisfying ending! It was great getting to expand on the characters and see the connection between Amber, Daphne and Daisy Ann. The ending was fantastic with a great twist! While it wasn't as amazing as the first book it was a great continuation to the story and a fun read.

This was definitely a let down for me. I LOVED the first book and had high hopes for the sequel (even though I didn't think it needed to be done in the first place).

There is no vodka that tastes like water so that is just the first main issue. The rest of the story is just as unbelievable. I am happy it ended the way it did but that's about the only saving grace of this book.

3 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m teetering between 2.5 and 3 stars, but ultimately decided to just round it up! I’m in a good mood today! 😜

I really enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish. When I saw there was a sequel PLUS that gorgeous cover I knew I had to read it. I kinda wish I didn’t.

This is a sequel nobody asked for. Seriously, this was so unnecessary. Such a bland, drawn out plot. Nothing happens for the first 60% of this book. Anyone who read the first book already knows how loathsome these characters are - can I say they may be even been worse in this book? Same cringe, same gaslighting, same stupidity of one of the main characters. Be prepared to suspend a lot of disbelief!

The last 25% and the satisfying ending bumped it up to 3 stars. Hopefully this is the end of this “series” - it is for me!

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House - Ballantine for my advanced copy to read and review.

I was nervous it wouldn't live up to the first one but I really enjoyed this. I still love the first one a little more but I felt like I was right back where I left off many years later.

I had previously read the predecesor of this book and really enjoyed that because of Daphne and the hidden twists that came with it. This book continues on with the story and is also enjoyable but for me was easier to figure out what was going to happen other than one small part in the end of the book.
The book also adds a new character, Daisy, who at first you’ll be confused as to who she is and how she relates to the Parrish family. That will become evident. Daisy is a strong female in this story and I feel was my favorite character in the book.
Overall, this book is an enjoyable read. Not as great as the first but nonetheless still good.

TLDR: this book is so fucking ridiculous. the sequel to one of the OG twisty domestic suspense novels of recent (Freida McFadden owe’s the Constantine sisters some of those HOUSEMAID royalties!!), the book is told from the POV of first wife Daphne Parris, second wife Amber Parrish, and a mysterious Texas housewife named Daisy Ann (possibly the worst character name ever) as they conspire and scheme to seek vengeance on those who have wronged them, primarily Mr. Parrish, Daphne and Amber’s estranged husband, newly released from prison ready to twist his mustache as hard as possible. He’s a ridiculous caricature of a villain, and the book almost topples over from the weight of his cartoonish villainy, but ultimately this is the perfect beach read: easy, breezy, fast-paced and forgettable.

I debated on whether or not to read this book. I was on the love side with the first book, but I also felt it was just fine as a standalone. I didn't find myself wanting anymore from the characters than what I already had. But then I figured, why not see what happens. What can these authors throw at readers this time?

Listen, if you read the first book, you already know the characters you despised and liked. Win, win, right? Well, a little wrong. I still despise Amber and Jackson. I loathe them. But revenge is a dish best served cold, right?

This story weaves in and out with a high level of angst and devious intentions (some warranted, some not so warranted), that I found myself right back in this world very quickly. Dare I say, as much I still don't like Amber, I found myself on her side plenty of times, much to my chagrin.

I didn't know what to expect going in, so I came out feeling pretty good and vindicated by the ending of this book.

🚨 HOT TAKE ALERT 🚨

The Next Mrs. Parrish is the sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish that no one asked for. In the first book, Amber Patterson plots to seduce and steal Jackson Parrish, wealthy businessman and husband to Daphne Parrish. Through a series of deceptions, she succeeds, only to realize that Jackson is abusive and controlling. Now, she's looking to leave that marriage and get revenge on a former rival while helping him win Daphne back.

Reading this sequel solidified many of the feelings I wasn't able to pinpoint in the first book. Every character in this book is one-dimensional—either entirely moral or entirely corrupt. We have Daphne and Daisy Ann on one end of the spectrum—perfectly kind, unconcerned with money (despite—or maybe because of?— their exorbitant wealth), naive, and ultimately victimized by Jackson and Amber on the other end of the spectrum—sociopathic, abuse, selfish, and greedy. The goodies and the baddies get what they deserve after gratuitous abuse and manipulation. We saw it happen in the first book and we get a re-run here for no good reason.

The reason I picked the first book up is because I read The Housemaid, which was clearly a rip-off, practically plagiarized version of The Last Mrs. Parrish. Look, The Housemaid isn't winning any literary awards for its writing (unless you count The Goodreads Choice Award, which is no serious feat) but neither was The Last Mrs. Parrish. But, where we have flat characters in this series, The Housemaid boasts at least an ounce of nuance and growth. Furthermore, in The Housemaid we get a truly happy ending where Daphne and Amber (or whatever their Tethered names are) end up cooperating against the abuser instead of here, where they are forever at odds. Ultimately, I'd recommend skipping this book and saving yourself 300 pages of eye rolling.

I thought the first book was great but this one was even better. Go read this sequel and you wont be disappointed. It is a great quick read.
