This twisted follow-up to The Last Mrs. Parrish maintains the page-turning absurdity of the first installment and cranks it up a few notches. While it definitely would have been helpful to revisit the first book before diving into this one to brush up on some of the finer details, there was enough context provided that it didn't prevent me from enjoying the story. There were plenty of moments where I wondered how all of these characters would tie together, and there was just enough suspense built up before a big reveal that it didn't feel nonsensical. An overall fun read!
I enjoyed this follow up to The Last Mrs. Parrish, but found the writing a little clunky. The twists were many but felt a little like they could use more thinking through. Overall a good quick read.
Many thanks to @randomhouse #bantambooks #ballantinebooks @netgalley for my #gifted (free) copy. Pub date 6/18/24.
Daphne and Amber are back!!! This was very fast-paced and had a LOT more action in it than THE LAST MRS. PARRISH. I highly recommend reading the short novella THE LAST SHOT before reading this one to fully understand the full circle of these complicated characters. I loved this book, and I would not be sad at all if the series continued. I'm not going to give much info on this book, so I don't give spoilers away if you haven't read THE LAST MRS. PARRISH or THE LAST SHOT, but I'm telling you this is a must-read, with a fantastic ending! Get them pre-orders in!
I enjoyed this book, but. not as much as the first book. I didn't like how the plot was developed. The idea of revenge against the husband was under-developed. It's a quick read but a little disappointing.
It's an entertaining read, don't necessarily find that is was needed. Great for audio format.

The Last Mrs. Parrish was one of my favorite thrillers in recent years. As soon as I got approved for this ARC I dove right in. It starts off with all of the familiar characters we got to know and love (and hate) in the first book, but also adds in an exciting new POV. Quick paced and entertaining- I finished in 24 hours!
I don’t normally think the sequel is better than the first but wow! So many pieces to keep you guessing. The characters were all so different that I never got confused with whose narrative I was on each chapter. Very very good read.
Okay... I read both of these in the week.
Book 1 - was not a fan. I did not like the ending. I felt there was no real thriller aspect.
Book 2 - I felt the same way.
There were so many different plots going on at the same time its easy to get lost. I didn't think book 1 needed a sequel. I didn't like the ending of either book. I expected so much more knowing the hype around this book. The story was slow, very slow. I just could not get intrigued.
I loved the prequel.
I thought that this was a perfect follow up to "The Last Mrs. Parrish." I love how Amber's character is still completely unhinged (and unlikeable), and Daphne is done taking sh*t from her ex-husband. The introduction to our vindictive southern belle Daisy-Ann was wonderfully done, as her character really drove the story for me. She was a bit of a slow burn as I wanted to know what her purpose in the story was earlier on, but once we did, I couldn't but the book down. Even though she had her own motive for seeking her revenge, I found myself rooting for her. I always appreciate multiple perspective stories as you can get a true full picture of how the story unfolds. This is a classic domestic thriller with twists and turns, allies and enemies, and full of mind games. For those who didn't read the first book, I found there was just enough information for the reader to understand the backstory/dynamic of Jackson, Amber and Daphne.
"The Next Mrs. Parrish" is a masterfully crafted thriller that delivers on all fronts. It's smart, well-developed, and expertly executed!
Amber Parrish is back at it again! I loved this sequel to the Last Mrs Parrish. I would definitely recommend reading The First Shot novella before picking this one up!
This book starts out with Jackson in prison for tax fraud. He is married to Amber who is still shady as ever and scheming to get rich quick. They have a son named Jax
Daphne, Jackson's first wife, returns to Bishops Harbor after living in California with her daughters. Her oldest had been missing her dad and he was getting out of prison soon and he manipulated her to want to see him. So Daphne pushes her gut feeling down and goes back to Bishops Harbor.
We have a new character, Daisy Ann, who is the daughter of one of Amber's mark and victim. She is a jewelry maker and is determined to get Amber for her fathers death even though she was found innocent when he died. Amber ends up at an event where Daisy Ann is showing her jewelry and it throws them both into a tailspin and a twisty ride begins.
Many thanks to Bantam and to NetGalley for this ARC for review! This is my honest opinion.
Wow, this sequel did not disappoint! It had me hooked from the first page and I couldn’t stop reading. I loved following the same characters again and getting introduced to some new ones too. The twists and turns were incredible and had me on the edge of my seat. Overall, the writing style kept me captivated and the storyline was superb. Loved it!
I read a review that said to read the short story prequel "The First Shot" before reading this and I'm SO GLAD I did!! I feel like it's so essential to this sequel. The order the books should be read are: The Last Mrs. Parrish, The First Shot, The Next Mrs. Parrish.
That ending!!!! It was so dark and disturbingly satisfying. I loved this book so much. Perfect sequel to an amazing book. 5 stars!!!!
This sequel was phenomenal...twisty & turny with lots of surprises. I loved the addition of the Daphne Ann storyline. Loved being back with conniving Amber & super strong Daphne. Liv Constantine did a brilliant job with this sequel & finishing up this story line (at least I think it’s finished 🤷🏼♀️). Binge worthy & a solid 5-stars. Thank you to Bantam, Net Galley & Liv Constantine for the ability to read this one early 🫶🏼
I loved this book!! I ate it up!! I truly live for the toxicity of Jackson and Amber. I love how crazy Jackson was in this book. He genuinely is a psychopath, and Amber as well how she just felt like she deserved her silver spoon and riches galore.I love the determination from Daphne and Daisy Ann. At first I was not sure how Daisy Ann fit into the story but I think all the drama tied together so perfectly and there was so much backstabbing, blackmail and deceit and I was living for all the double crossing and people being steps ahead of the game. Poor Daphne, she just wanted her girls to be happy risking her own happiness for theirs. Just a mom willing to do whatever it takes. I loved how it ended and now we can be at peace!!
A psychological thriller with twist and turns not to be predicted. I found myself yelling at the characters as if I was sitting in a theater watching them on screen. Too many times to count I was left with my jaw dropped. A must for psychological thriller fans
I was so excited to receive a copy of this because I LOVED The Last Mrs. Parrish so much! This felt... unneccesary, if I'm being honest. The suspense kind of lacked and there were no real major shock factors. My favorite part of the book was Daphne's storyline and getting a better glimpse into the relationship with the girls. A lot of the interactions between Daphne/Jackson felt far fetched and I just found myself skimming through a good bit of it. I didn't dislike it- maybe I just had too high of hopes in comparison to The Next Mrs. Parrish! Regardless, I'm very thankful for the early copy; greatly appreciated and will still recommend!
I loved the Last Mrs. Parrish & love The Next Mrs. Parrish just as much! This sequel picks up immediately where the original left off, so I would recommend refreshing your memory if it has been a while since you read the first book. I do feel that the second book kept me guessing more than the first & that is always good. A definite 4 star thriller in my book!
Thank you NetGalley, Random House Publishing- Ballantine & Bantam Books the ARC copy of this book.
I will be honest that I did not read the Last Mrs. Parrish; however, I felt that I did not need to in order to understand the gist of the returning characters. There is your all so frustrating cast of Amber, Daphne, and Jackson (vomit). But what I loved about this read was apparently the newly introduced character, Daisy Ann, who has a history with Amber. It was suspenseful, entertaining, and somehow you hate all of the characters at once in many points of the story but I think the author meant for that so you can see how truly the bad decisions made effect the ultimate outcomes! I will now read the prequel to this because I was HOOKED!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for my digital advanced reader’s copy!
I couldn’t wait to start The Next Mrs. Parrish to pick up where Daphne, Jackson and Amber left off. Daphne and her daughters are rebuilding their lives in California, far away from Bishop Harbor and Jackson. When Talulah starts asking questions about her father, Daphne wants to protect her. Jackson is getting released from prison, and Talulah wants to meet her father. I don’t want to give anything away, but this was a great book. If you enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish, you will enjoy this one!
Meh, this sequel did nothing for me. I was excited when I heard about the sequel however I fell like it was unnecessary.
Thanks NetGalley for this advanced copy!
