I was SO excited to read this book because I was a huge fan of the first book. It was slow in the beginning but once I got over halfway through, I could not put my kindle down. Definitely add it to your TBR.

This book is INSANE!! Once again, I can not stand Jackson and Amber!! But I sooo adore Daphne and Daisy Ann!! I was confused as to why there would be a sequel but after reading The First Shot I love how it ties it all together!! This book is amazing, made my heart rate go up at times but such a good book!

Jackson, Amber and Daphne are back in another unputdownable novel about the life of the rich and the shady. Jackson returns home from prison to his new wife Amber and their toddler Jax. Both Jackson and Amber are ready to end their marriage but not before they need each other to perform a couple of cunning plans before they part their ways. Amber wants to get revenge on an old enemy and Jackson wants to get his life back with Daphne and their daughters. These folks are so twisted, I stayed enthralled with the story because I cannot believe people can be this artfully devious.

The Next Mrs. Parrish was exactly what I was expecting. It was a delightful read that I didn’t put down until finished. The continuation of the story of Daphne, Jackson, and Amber was well done. I can’t wait for another chapter. Fingers crossed!

I have read the other books in this series, and I have to say that I think this one was my least favorite. There were tons of unexpected twists and turns, which I feel like this series is great at, but the new character of Daisy Ann was a bit of a quandry for me. I found her to be a bit too exaggerated for my taste. Living in Texas, I can tell you that not everyone talks in the stereotypical drawl or uses ridiculous expressions like "what in tarnation," "Heavens to Betsy," etc. Most of the time, her dialogue is completely normal, and then out of nowhere, one of these phrases will get thrown in, and it just didn't ring true to me. I think all in all, though something just felt a bit off for me with The Next Mrs. Parrish, it was still a quick and easy read with fun twists and turns. While I'm giving it 4 stars, I think it's really more of a 3.5.

This is not normally a book that I would pick up off the shelf, but I am so glad I gave it a chance because WOW I LOVED THIS BOOK. I would definitely recommend this to my patrons and I know they will love it just as much as I did, if not more.

Twists and turns with some deliciously despicable characters. I think we all love reading about a sociopath like Amber Parrish because they are just so awful. And I appreciate that she did not become this way from trauma or bad experiences, but was born to normal parents in a normal situation. Literally born bad. There were lots of twists to keep me on my toes and was a perfect beach read for spring break.

I gave this book 4 stars. An excellent sequel that we were all waiting for! It did not disappoint.. so many twists

Surprisingly satisfying. I wouldn’t event rate the first book, yet this sequel wasn’t half bad. I found the first book so upsetting and unsettling that I wish I never read it. However, a Goodreads reviewer I follow (who shares similar feelings towards the first book) raved about this one. Therefore, I thought to myself, self, if she can put all that aside I can too. What else am I doing? Not much.

Verdict: Couldn’t put it down, wasn’t horrified. I still hate Amber, but we’re supposed to. I did however appreciate the descriptions of her outfits, and her sections were extremely entertaining. I mostly read Daphne’s parts through my fingers. Lastly - wow, do I love the addition of Daisy Mae.

All in all, love or hate the first one - this one is worth the read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

L.C. is an author that really has a certain groove with their writing. It's easy to get wrapped up in without realizing it's happening and then 50 pages in there you are looking up and seeing the time that passes without a second thought. I loved that about this book.

I was so excited to read THE NEXT MRS. PARRISH, and it did not disappoint. I would recommend reading THE FIRST SHOT and THE LAST MRS. PARRISH first, so then everything will be fresh in your mind before you start this book. I was reminded once again why I like this author duo so much. Their stories are always suspenseful and entertaining. I did read this book slowly because I honestly did not want it end! I really enjoyed the ending and how everything turned out for all of the characters. Highly recommend!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine for my gifted copy.

This review will be shared on my Instagram account (@coffee.break.book.reviews) closer to pub date.

Just wanting to start by saying thank you for giving me the opportunity to receive an ARC copy of this book.

I have not been able to put this book down.

The way Amber acts (like a spoiled child) and poor Daphne, she is stronger than us all. I was a little confused with Daisy Ann’s chapters but then it clicked.

The way the characters interact and their stories intertwine is written perfectly. Honestly, this has very quickly become a 5 star read.

Final thoughts: You reap what you sow.

PS please tell me there will be another book!

If you've been following me for any length of time you know how much I LOVED The Last Mrs Parrish and I am so so thrilled that I got an early copy to the sequel. Thank you to the publisher!!!
This book lived up to my expectations and hopes and then surpassed them. I loved our three narrators and the different aspects of the story we gleaned from each of them. The writing was superb, as l've come to rely on these writers for. Fans of the first book will be very happy to see a sequel which is just as well done as the original.
Both the original book & this sequel will forever be in my list of top recommendations to give. The suspense they offer is like no other, and if you haven't picked them up yet....what are you waiting for?

First, the first book The Last Mrs. Parrish, should be read first--I think it would be hard to understand the characters with out that head start. In this book--just like the first, the bad characters are really really REALLY bad and the good characters are really good, so the reader knows what they are dealing with from the start. This book has most of the same characters, except for Daisy Ann. who is a great addition to the cast and is multi-layered which is not realized until toward the end. I think really the plot is so intricate that oftentimes I felt like I was playing 3D chess and I think the book was more enjoyable once I just went with the flow. Jackson and Amber are as supernasty as ever (has there ever been two such despicable people? Maybe the titles should have been reversed as Jackson will never find another to marry (or will there be a miracle and another???)

Great book. I read the first book over 4 years ago and was worried that I wouldn't remember certain things from the original book. I was able to remember everything because of the way things were connected. The author did a great job of reminding us what happened in the first book while also keeping me interested in what was currently happening to Amber. Loved the ending and how it was clearly set up for a 3rd book.

OMG! Just when you think there could not be anything more to come...BAM! I loved this book. Jackson is a complete slime bag and poor Daphne has no clue what he has in store for her. You would have thought she learned from the past but here we are...

I am so glad Amber's past has finally caught up with her. From the First Shot book until The Next Mrs. Parrish you think she is getting away with all her past by scheming everyone she come in contact with. She was born into the wrong family and lifestyle and did everything in her power to get away from it all... She even changed her name and left her child behind.

You must get your hands on The Next Mrs. Parrish!!!! Daphne and Amber are back for more drama, drama, drama! Both of these strong women are just trying to live the lives they dreamed of, but will the manipulative Jackson Parrish allow either of them to go on about their lives, or will he continue to cause chaos? The Last Mrs. Parrish was an amazing read and The Next Mrs. Parrish was just as exhilarating! I could not put this book down!!!! Thank you to Liv Constantine, Random House Publishing Group – Ballantine | Bantam and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book prior to publishing.

If You're in for a rollercoaster ride of deception, revenge, and unexpected alliances, then "The Next Mrs. Parrish" is your ticket to an exhilarating read. This book delivers another gripping installment in the Parrish saga, picking up the pieces of the mesmerizing storyline established in its predecessor, "The Last Mrs. Parrish."

In this electrifying sequel, we're drawn back into the intertwined lives of Amber and Daphne Parrish, two women whose fates are intricately linked by past secrets and present challenges. Amber, once the cunning social climber who transformed her life through sheer willpower, now finds herself grappling with the consequences of her husband's scandal and his impending return from prison. On the other hand, Daphne, who swore never to return to Bishops Harbor, is forced back into the fray when her daughters' safety is at stake.

What unfolds is a riveting game of cat and mouse, where the stakes are higher than ever. With Jackson Parrish's release, old wounds are reopened, and alliances are tested. But when a vengeful figure from Amber's past resurfaces, the dynamics shift dramatically, blurring the lines between friend and foe. It masterfully weaves a web of intrigue, keeping readers on the edge of their seats with each twist and turn.

One of the novel's greatest strengths lies in its characters, who are as flawed as they are compelling. From the manipulative Amber to the resilient Daphne, each character is fleshed out with depth and complexity, making it easy to become emotionally invested in their fates. As the narrative unfolds, alliances shift, and loyalties are questioned, forcing the characters to confront their own demons and make impossible choices.

It's prose is sharp and propulsive, driving the narrative forward with a sense of urgency that is impossible to resist. The pacing is relentless, with tension building steadily until the explosive climax, leaving you so breathless and eager for more.

Overall, "The Next Mrs. Parrish" is a deliciously addictive read that will keep you guessing until the very end. If you're a fan of psychological thrillers packed with suspense and intrigue, this is one book you won't want to miss.

This book!!! Oh my word did this deliver!!

I was SO EXCITED when I saw that The Last Mrs. Parrish had a sequel!! This one picks up right where that one left off. We also get THREE POVs this time. The extra POV and the plot really sucked me in right from chapter one.

Amber is back and she's even more despicable than ever. She is still super manipulating and so money hungry. Right when I thought she couldn't get worse, she does. She is currently married to Jackson Parrish, who is serving time in prison for tax fraud. He's still just as sick as he was before. To escape Jackson and Amber, Daphne moved her and her two daughters to California, but her oldest daughter Tallulah was really struggling with missing her father so despite being hesitant about coming back, Daphne does. This sends everyone into a tailspin, with lots of twists and turns! We also get to meet Daisy Ann who owns a jewelry line that Amber is trying to take over. I LOVED Daisy Ann!!

PLEASE be sure to read The First Shot prior to reading The Next Mrs. Parrish. It gives so much info that you will want and need to know!! I don't want to give too much away but please know this book was SO SO GOOD!! I could NOT put it down! Liv Constantine is such a great writer and I was so happy to read this early!!

Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Bantam for the ARC. I can't wait for this to release!!

I loved the last Mrs. Parrish & was excited to receive an ARC of the second book from @netgalley. A great continuation of the story, I couldn’t put it down! I like how we got to see how their lives went on after the last book ended and the new plot was twisty and fun.

When I stumbled upon the sequel to "The Last Mrs. Parish," I was wickedly surprised. With a narrative steeped in themes of blackmail and a notably darker tone than its predecessor, "The Next Mrs. Parrish" delves deeper into the intricate web of deceit that surrounds Daphne and Amber.

To truly grasp the intricacies of the plot and the evolution of the characters, it's essential to have read the first book. While "The Last Mrs. Parish" left me with mixed feelings, I found myself in a similar position with its sequel. That being said, fans of psychological thrillers and those who enjoyed "The Last Mrs. Parish" may find "The Next Mrs. Parish" to be a satisfying continuation of the story. It offers enough twists and turns to keep readers engaged, even if it doesn't quite reach the heights of its predecessor.
