After finishing the fourth in the Finlay Donovan series, these remain some of my very favorite books! I listened to every page with a smile on my face and enjoying tagging along with Finlay and Vera for another adventure! I'll continue to pick up each new book that Cosimano pens!

This series is just so chaotic LOL Crazy plots, bad guys, a budding romance (THAT I NEED MORE OF), an amazing friendship between Finley and Vero... this book is just a fun ride and the audiobooks are so good! Seems like this series is going to keep on going, which I am here for, but I do really need some more development between Finely and Nick (because I love them lol).
Rating 3.5 stars

My goodness, this is such an outrageously fun series. Finlay Donovan Rolls The Dice picks up right where the last book ended. Finlay and Vero are going on a road trip to complete an important task. Somehow the whole gang tags along (Finlay's kids, ex, and mom). Shenanigans ensue.
Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's press for the advanced reader's copy. I love this series. I highly recommend it.
Edited to add that I was lucky enough to get to listen the advanced listener copy of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice. Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan Audio I absolutely loved listening to this audiobook. Angela Dawe is amazing as narrator, as she has been for all of the Finlay Donovan books. Her voices for all of the characters are great, and really add that extra bit of comedy. 5 stars!

I adore this series and have been looking forward to this one for a while! I love the combination or mystery and humor that each book contains. The main characters have won me over and I enjoy getting to see what kind of trouble they are going to get themselves into (and out of) each book. This book was no different. The pace was great and the narrator did a fantastic job. These are books that I always recommend to my mystery loving friends!

Fresh off a sleepless police academy weekend, Finlay and Vero need to save Vero's friend Javi, so they plan a rescue mission to Atlantic City under the guise of needing a girls weekend. Steven and Finlay's mother insist on tagging along on the trip to help with the kids, so Finlay and Vero have to navigate Atlantic City with extra people in tow while trying to sneak around so they don't get caught.
love love LOVE these books. I stumbled across this series when i was looking for my next read and I just fell in love with Finlay's antics. I think the books are hilarious with a lot of laugh out loud moments. I have thoroughly enjoyed the series so far and this book is no exception. I like that the crazy just keeps getting more out there. Just when you think the situation can't get worse, it does!
I thought the narrator was amazing and really brought the characters to life. This book is number 4 in the series and I highly recommend this light humorous read!
Thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for sending me an ARC of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice in exchange for an honest review.

I seriously love the Finlay Donovan books. Truly, they are the perfect combination of comedy, suspense, and totally outrageous ideas in the best way. These books are some of my favorite and I feel like I really wish I could read them again for the first time!
This one was set in Atlantic City and allllll of our favorite characters made appearances as Finlay and Vero got themselves into MORE trouble while trying to get out of trouble (feels like a metaphor for my life some days). The audiobook was stunning as always. Seriously, if you haven't picked up the Finlay Donovan series yet, what are you waiting for?!

FINLAY DONOVAN ROLLS THE DICE by ELLE COSIMANO
Publication: March 5, 2004
By: Minotaur Books …. Page Count; 320
By: Macmillan Audio …Narrated by: ANELA DAWES … 9 Hours, 5 Min
What a hoot! A new genre arises … the screwball comedy mystery. Mix into the pot a heaping amount of misunderstanding and misadventure, a humungous amount of humor, a tinge of romance, a deepening friendship and murder, and you’ve got a propulsive read. “Finlay Donovan Rolls The Dice’ is the fourth Finlay adventure, but can certainly be enjoyed as a standalone, as Cosimano seamlessly weaves into the narrative the necessary backstory. Finlay has recently achieved literary success with her spicy romantic mysteries and her readers continue to clamor for more romantic involvement with the “hot cop” from her previous book (who actually is real-life Nick and her sister Georgia’s cop partner). Her friendship is further deepening with her live-in nanny, college student, Vero … who wears many hats: trusting nanny, confidante, partner-in-crime, and accountant - and from this, a blossoming friendship has evolved. Complicating the farce is her no-good ex-husband Steve, her mother, Susan, with ongoing marital problems , and her adorable children: four year-old Delia and two year-old sticky-fingered toddler, Zach.
Finlay and Vero must plan a trip to Atlantic City to accomplish multiple purposes. They need to retrieve a stolen Aston Martin , rescue Vero’s love-interest, Javi, and negotiate with a dangerous loan-shark for Vero’s outstanding loan marker. In screwball fashion they find it necessary for their “girls weekend” to take place…. their travel companions swell with the inclusion of the children, ex-husband Steve, and Susan. They arrive at a seedy casino and contact Marco, the loan shark. He demands payment in full and wants to know where is missing nephew is, before he releases Javi and the stolen vehicle. Finlay and Vero decide to find Javi and the Aston Martin on their own. They locate Marco’s hotel suite, only to find him and his henchman, quite dead ,cold and decomposing . This starts a series of hilarious misadventures in an attempt to extricate themselves from this seemingly impossible situation.
Elle Cosimano spins a twisted and hilarious tale that is well plotted, suspenseful and is marvelously outfitted with multiple characters that are flawed, believable and charming. This propulsive page turner is a welcome antidote to everyones daily angst. Hopefully this is not the end to the life and adventures of Finlay Donovan. Angela Dawes with her multiple voice inflections bring this hilarious adventure to life in the theatre of my mind. Thanks to NetGalley, Minotaur Books and Macmillan Audio for supplying an Uncorrected Proof and an Advance Audiofile in exchange for an honest review.

If something exists that is more entertaining than Finlay Donovan, I sure can’t think of it right now. I am quite grateful to the friend who introduced her to me. I just finished Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice (Book 4) by Elle Cosimano. Finlay is dropped in Atlantic City; what a delightful pairing. As she and Vero work to secure the money needed to protect Vero, to find and protect Javi, to clear their debt with Felix, to out the police mole - they have some good old fashioned Atlantic City adventures. I love that Finlay’s mom travels with them, that Steven gets a taste of real parenting, and of course that Nick shows up. Angela Dawe’s narration voices each character precisely and brings Finlay’s world alive.
Atlantic City provides a delightful setting that Cosimano uses to its best advantage - she really shines here and so do Finlay and Vero. The changes in setting in the series keep the content fresh and new. The hotel where Finlay and company are staying is smarmy Atlantic City at its finest. The luxury hotel where Marco “holds (held?) court” contrasts nicely. We can see in Cam’s behavior there what a treat it can be to live large in a gambling city. I am - as always - stunned at the appearance of a corpse and the lengths at which Finlay and Vero will go to protect themselves while they try to get to the bottom of a mystery. I laughed out loud at the stairwell scene. The time spent in Chubbies (which was NOT a diner) - also quite hilarious. The plot unfolds through these adventures, and Finlay is always paying attention. The character development also continues to delight. Part of the charm of this series is that we learn a bit more about the main characters in each new book. Vero seems to get some extra attention this time. The new characters and those that are more peripheral are characters to be sure. Cosimano balances charm and satire well in the extended cast. Even a dog gets a significant amount of attention in this title.
I am thankful for Elle Cosimano’s Finlay Donovan series. Finlay’s world is one of which I will never be a part, but what a fun place to visit. I thought when I was young that I could probably be Nancy Drew. I was curious; I paid attention - I knew I could solve mysteries for sure. I was shaped in part by my reading of her. As a librarian, the biggest mystery I solved was finding that book with a girl on the cover, you know, the red one. The biggest criminals I dealt with loved reading so much that they snuck books out of my library. I am not so much a Nancy Drew. Finlay gives me a chance to live in the world of mystery and suspense a bit vicariously again. Her stakes are considerably higher than I remember Nancy’s being, but we are in her adult world now. I appreciate the laughter at the hi jinks that ensue along with the suspension of disbelief for some glorious reading minutes. I am glad that the ending suggests that more of Finlay Donovan is on the way. I’ll be reading!

Elle Cosimano has done it again with the newest book in the Finlay Donovan series. Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice follows Finlay and Vero as they work together to save Vero's long lost love, Javi, from a dangerous loan shark. Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is a great culmination of what made Cosimanos first three books so entertaining and addicting. This book features so many of our favorite FD characters, and brings justice to many of Finlays lingering conflicts in the most hilariously satisfying ways. This has to be my favorite of this series so far, and would highly recommend this to any cozy/comedy mystery readers.

Finlay and her nanny, Vero, are planning a girls weekend. In actuality, they are headed to Atlantic City to save Vero’s childhood crush. But, as you can guess, nothing goes as planned.
I absolutely adore this series. Finlay Donovan is always in a pickle. Now she did seem to have her act together better than usual in this book. So, maybe she has turned over a new leaf. However, she still finds herself chasing bad guys and finding dead bodies!
There are places in this book which will have the reader cackling! And I don’t want to give anything away, but Finlay is loose in Atlantic City. So, you can just imagine the messes she gets herself into! I needed a book like this.
The narrator, Angela Dawe, is definitely in her element as Finlay. I do not see how she did one of the scenes without laughing her butt off!
Need a good mystery with fabulous characters…This is it! Grab your copy today!
I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review.

Another escapade for our hero, Finlay Donovan. In Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice, Finlay, Vero, and the whole family go on adventure to Atlantic City to find Vero's love. I love Finlay but I'm ready for a little more story and less constant activity. I think I would like to be Finlay's friend but she manages to get her friends in some pretty hairy situations so maybe I better just settle for reading about her! I really enjoyed the voices on the audiobook and will probably listen to the next installment as well. 3.5 stars

Another strong addition to Finlay Donovan's story. Loved the dynamic of Finlay and Vero, their outrageous shenanigans are what keeps me coming back to this series. It's fun and adventurous with a silly plot but still the characters are the best part. I love Angela Dawes's continuing narration of the series, she brings out the humor in story.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ALC.

If you're a fan of the Finlay Donovan series, you're in luck with Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice (pun intended 😄). Finlay and Vero are back in full force with their hilarious antics, this time in Atlantic City. If you haven't read the first three books, don't read this one yet. It is definitely a series that needs to be read in order.
What I loved:
- Our favorite characters are back, some of whom we get to know more intimately.
- There's closure in many ways that I didn't always feel from the previous three books.
- Intricate plot. Elle Cosimano clearly spent a lot of time developing the plot and it was fun to discover how everything is interrelated.
- The audio narration. I've listened to most of the series and continue to enjoy it on audio. I highly recommend the series in this format.
What gives me pause:
- Lack of sleep. How in the world do Vero and Finlay function on so little sleep? The amount of ridiculous situations they find themselves in without stopping to sleep and rarely to eat blows my mind. Yes, I realize it's fiction but I kept coming back to this thought.
- Nick and Finlay’s relationship gives me anxiety. I'm constantly waiting for everything to blow up. It's like the equivalent of walking on eggshells.
IMO, about halfway through the book, it felt like too much drama just causing a domino effect with more unfortunate circumstances. Stick with it! The second half really shows how everything was connected and loose ends tie up nicely. It almost seemed like there's enough closure that I wasn't sure where the next book could start but the epilogue addressed that thought. 🤐
Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press and Macmillan Audio for the ARC and ALC.

As per usual, Finlay and Vero are up to their necks in shit. They're Los Vegas with Steven, the children, Finlay's mom, and everyone else. There's bodies, money, the mafia, shenanigans, everything. I've seen a lot of people slowly beginning to dislike this series because it's ridiculous and they simply aren't enjoying that aspect anyone. I would argue that the substance of the books themselves have never changed. They started as a ridiculous and unbelievable cozy mystery and that is what they continue to be. I, personally, love that.

Another fun installment in the Finlay Donovan series. I throughly enjoyed it and look forward to finding out what happens after that mini cliffhanger ending! Narration spot on as usual as well.

Thank you to Netgalley, Macmillan Audio, and Elle Cosimano for an advance copy of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice in exchange for an honest review. I am truly a Finlay and Vero stan and this 4th addition to this series was so fun! Cosimano has a way of drawing the reader in with some big disaster in the beginning which just makes you have to continue to figure out how the heck Finlay will get out of said mess. I feel like this book tied up some loose ends with characters in previous books so maybe this is the end of the series?! I also feel like the ending was vague enough that there could potentially be another book?! I loved the setting in this book and it made me want to get up and drive to Atlantic City so I could be part of the fun too! The narrator did a great job captivating my attention and kept me engrossed until the last word. This one comes out tomorrow, March 5th and I hope you add this one to your Finlay collection (I will definitely be adding it to mine)!

4.25 ⭐️
I love following Finlay and Vero’s shenanigans and how they somehow manage to get involved in things they shouldn’t but still recover. These are lighthearted, funny, and cute reads to take a break from my typical mystery / thriller, smut, self help, or parenting reads. This book picked right up from book 3 and now I can’t wait for book 5! I received an advance reader copy from NetGalley for an honest review.

This is the fourth instalment in one of my favourite series! I’m typically into more darker murder mysteries but these cozy stories are just so comical and entertaining!
I always relish in reading all the new precarious and hilarious situations that Finlay and Vera end up in as bodies counts continue to add up! They’re easily addictive and just incredibly wholesome fun!
Odds are, Finlay is bound to provide you with a good few chuckles! 😉
While nothing seems to quite live up the the magic of the first one, I’ll continue to follow Finlay on whatever funny and outrageous path she finds herself on next!

Finlay and Vero are always fun and entertaining! Never a dull moment. This time the duo finds themselves in Atlantic City with Findlay’s ex husband, mother, children and Nick the current boyfriend! Love this series and always look forward to the next one.
Thanks to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I will never get tired of Finlay and her shenanigans. Are they a little over the top sometimes, a little unbelievable? Yes, but that's why I love them. In a world that is all too serious, Finlay makes me laugh. Who else besides Finlay would take her ex-husband, two kids, and her mother to Atlantic City while also trying to find a stolen car and Vero's kidnapped boyfriend? Speaking of Vero, her friendship with Finlay is one of my favorite parts of this series. Finlay and Vero are the ultimate ride-or-die friends, and everyone should have a Vero in their lives. I already can''t wait for the next book in the series, which Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice perfectly tees up with its very last sentence. I can't imagine anyone but Angela Dawe being the voice of Finlay at this point. She's absolutely perfect.
