Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is another fun and easy read from Elle Cosimano. In this installment Finlay goes on an new adventure with the WHOLE family this time, juggling dead bodies and cheerios with her usual finesse. I have enjoyed all of her books and was so excited for the opportunity to listen to this one, which is just as great as her first. I can’t wait to see the next one!

"Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice" is a total blast from start to finish! I mean, come on, a girls' weekend in Atlantic City that turns into a full-blown caper involving loan sharks, missing cars, and a murder mystery? Elle Cosimano has really outdone herself with this one.
First off, let's talk about Finlay and Vero. These two are the ultimate dynamic duo. They're like Thelma and Louise, but with a whole lot more sass and a knack for getting themselves into trouble. From the get-go, you can tell they're in for one heck of an adventure.
But it's not just the action that makes this book a page-turner. Cosimano's writing style is so engaging, it's like you're right there in the seedy casino hotel with Finlay and Vero, sweating bullets as they try to outsmart the bad guys. And the humor? Oh man, it's sprinkled throughout the entire story like confetti. I found myself laughing out loud more times than I can count.
And let's not forget about the supporting cast. Finlay's ex-husband, her meddling mother, and that smoldering hot cop Nick? They all add layers of complexity to the story, keeping you guessing until the very end.
Overall, "Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice" is pure entertainment. It's the kind of book you can't put down, the kind that leaves you wishing for more. Cosimano has definitely crafted a winner here, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

Finlay Donovan Rolls The Dice⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Elle Cosimano does it again with her latest installment of Finlay Donovan. This fourth book is another fun-filled adventure as Finlay and her side-kick Vero take on Atlantic City. Along for the road trip are her ex-husband, mother, and two kids. What could possibly go wrong? If you know Finlay, and if you’re reading this review you should, the answer is just about everything.
While keeping her family in the dark about their true intentions behind this spur of the moment girl’s trip, Finlay & Vero find themselves dealing with loan sharks, missing people, & dead bodies, because a Finlay escapade wouldn’t be complete without a dead body or two. And don’t worry, the regular cast of good, not-so good and downright evil characters all make appearances throughout the book. Including everyone’s favorite hunky detective, Nick, who defines #boyfriendgoals.
This book is a ridiculously good time, full of Cosimano’s signature quirky characters that kept a perpetual smile on my face with plenty of laugh-out loud moments. The narrator, Angela Dawe, lends her voice well to these outlandish characters. The banter between Finlay and Vero was spot on and her punch line timing for all the hi-jinx these two find themselves in was perfection.
Finlay summarizes the essence of this story best when she says, "No matter how you cut it, the deck was stacked against us, but what if I could change the odds? I’d been thinking of this as a game of chance, but what if I could turn it into a game of strategy?”
A lot of the mysteries spread over this series reach conclusions in this installment, so I hope that doesn’t mean an end to the trouble these two friends seem to always find themselves getting into.

If ever a duo epitomized the saying Out of the frying pan and into the fire, it’s Finlay and Vero! My favorite magnets for trouble are back and as usual they’re attracting ALL of it!
This fourth book in the series hits the ground running immediately after the crazy events of the Citizens’ Police Academy in the previous book.
Expecting a story with Finlay and Vero to be anything BUT over the top, is missing the point of this series, in my opinion! In the same spirit as Lucy and Ethel in I Love Lucy, the humor rests in the ridiculous, absurd scenarios they find themselves in. If you’re looking for believability, this is definitely not your series! Chuck your brain aside and just roll with it! Having said that, I can understand those who feel a bit fatigued by the silliness. I love it, but not everyone will.
I had a blast with this on audiobook. I don’t think I can do this series anymore without hearing Angela Dawe expertly embody every age, personality and gender. She nails every single voice - even the kids. As much as she is now Finlay in my mind, she’s Vero even more! I could listen to her do Vero’s snarky comebacks all day long and never tire of it!
If you enjoy a fast-paced, fun mystery with constant twists and turns and a host of hilariously charming characters, this is a book and series I highly recommend. After the first book, this may be my next favorite! As always, I can’t wait to see what misadventures lie ahead for Finlay and Vero. The last sentence of this book has me SO curious!
★★★★ ½

I really love these characters and all their schemes, so it was really fun to spend more time with them. This is a very fast-paced book, with constant action and twists. There is a lot of humor, costumes, bad accents, and all-around chaos. I listened to this on audio, and I really appreciated the accents the narrator effected!
This series is starting to feel a bit episodic and formulaic. I wanted more growth and development in the characters that would impact them in the next books, and it felt slightly lacking in that regard.
Overall, this was a very entertaining and fast-paced read! I’d you haven’t read this series, I highly recommend you pick up the first book and get started!

I love these books. The author is a fantastic writer, but the characters don’t take themselves too seriously. This story might not be quite as funny as the previous books but there are some laugh out loud moments and everything comes together with no dangling threads…well, except for the cliff hangar in which you are left. Can’t wait to read book 4!

Another great Finlay Donovan book - this book took all the fun characters and set them in Atlantic City. The New Jersey setting and new characters gave Stephanie Plum vibes. Overall very enjoyable.
I received an ARC Copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed the book. It's been really fun with this whole series. It was a nice easy read after some super heavy books. It was entertaining. Thank you NetGallery.

This was a fun read. I have not read the other books in the series before reading this one and I still enjoy it a lot. I will definitely be looking into the other books and reading those because I feel like if you do know, these characters, you get more of a kick out of some of the jokes and circumstances that these characters find themselves in. The audiobook narration was wonderful. They did a fantastic job.

I ALREADY NEED MORE. I can’t get enough of Finlay and Vero’s misadventures. I’m incredibly happy Elle continues with the same narrator because she is one of my favorites and doesn’t take away from the story, only makes it better.
The cliffhanger was *chef’s kiss.” This might be my new or second favorite after the first in the series. The story was incredibly fast paced and I loved that it felt heavy on Vero’s story, especially after Vero Breaks The Bank. This may be my new favorite series and you’d think considering this is book FOUR (and a half) the storyline would get old and tired, but it’s far from it. It seems like Finlay and Vero are always finding themselves in far-fetched situations while still being relatable and likable main characters.
Huge thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the ALC in exchange for review.

I didn’t read the first three in this series, but I had no problem keeping up with the characters. I enjoyed this story quite a bit.

What can I say? These books are totally preposterous but completely fun. As dumb as the scenarios sometimes are, I find myself smiling and laughing a bunch when I read them.
The pacing is great and the characters are surprisingly well developed. The plotting is clever and somehow everything works together for a super entertaining read!

If you enjoyed the 3 previous books, you will probably love this one too, but be prepared for strippers, call girls, and handcuffs... There is also plenty of lying, cheating stealing, blackmailing, and accusing others for things they are guilty of, and that’s only describing the heroines.
The action is non-stop making this book a propulsive read that will keep you engaged through the final sentence.
Thank you to Macmillan Audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook. The same narrator has done all of the books from Finlay Donovan series and has done a superb job!

Thank you to Net galley for the preview of this audiobook. 3 1/2⭐️ Rounding up to 4⭐️ due to fact took me a while to understand the characters and connections as it is #4 in series and build off the previous books. Slapstick story of 2 friends taking a road trip to Atlantic City because of a ransom note with a gaggle of people on tow with a comedy of errors occurring. Definitely recommend reading the series in order for a more enjoyable read. I do have to say they left me wondering what will happen in book 5. Enjoyed the audio- voices were well done and enjoyable.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an audio copy to listen to in exchange for an honest review.
Whew. What a ride! There was so much packed into this book! It continues pretty much right after the last book finished. Finlay and Vero have to make a trip to Atlantic City and end up with the kids, the ex, and Grandma in tow. Hilarious and fast paced this was highly entertaining!

As with the others in the series, this is a great audiobook. The narrator does well with the characters and lets the humor in the story shine through.

The 4th installment of of this series, in true Finlay fashion, it was a ✨w•i•l•d✨ ride 😅😅😅
I don’t truly know if anything could beat the magic of the first book but, this is definitely one for the Finlay obsessed reader!!!

Listening to the audio featuring Finlay and Vero provided a captivating experience. These characters, with their distinctive mix of craziness and cleverness, added an authentic charm to the narrative.
What resonated most was the genuine portrayal of imperfection. Despite their quirks, Finlay and Vero became endearing figures, and the narrative skillfully captured the essence of true camaraderie. Unconventional moments seamlessly wove into the audio, creating a comforting and delightful listening experience.
The exploration celebrates the warmth found in the unique friendship of Finlay and Vero. It's a testament to the author's ability to craft a heartwarming narrative that embraces the beauty of imperfections in characters and friendships, all presented through the engaging audio rendition.

Short synopsis: Finlay and Vero are back, and this time they are trying to rescue Vero’s crush Javi from a Loan Shark in Atlantic City.
My thoughts: I absolutely adored the first book in this series. It was hilarious and I couldn’t read it fast enough. This one just didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
The beginning pages in true Elle Cosimano fashion were hilarious! The shenanigans just got a little bit too ridiculous for me. There’s no way they can get away with so many dead bodies.
I think so many people will eat this up. I just love the “ride or die” relationship between Finlay and Vero, everyone needs a friendship like that!
The audio on this was so fun. I liked the way the narrator changed up her accent for different characters. It helps keep different people straight and adds so much fun to the story.

I am so in love, obsessed with this series and this book had me stressed out and screaming at Finlay and Vero just like the others. If this was the end of the series, I would be satisfied with where it wrapped up, but if it's not, I am thrilled and ready to be along for the ride.
First of all, can we just start this review off by acknowledging that Steven is the actual worst? Admittedly, his presence did allow for the events of this book to go in some truly wild places, but still. The book starts off with the most ridiculous set up for this road trip with Finlay, Vero, the two kids, Finlay's mom, and Steven on their way to Atlantic City. Ultimately, so many of the characters we've come to know and love wind up in this book, which is what makes me think that this could be a conclusion to the series.
If you're not here though, content to yell at Finlay and Vero for committing probably their 60th felony in four books, I wouldn't recommend this series to you because truly, these books have been wild. If there's a right move, Finlay and Vero won't make it. Find a dead body? Let's cover it up. The love of Vero's life has been kidnapped? Best not involve the authorities, the women will figure it out. But if you do love their antics, then this book is full of them and it's so funny and fun and sometimes stressful.
Ultimately, as I've stated a couple of times, if this was the conclusion to the series, I am satisfied with where Cosimano leaves us. But if she wants to keep tugging on the thread she laid down at the end of the book and give us more adventures, I'll be right here waiting anxiously to devour them.
As for the narrator, I am an Angela Dawe stan and this book is no different. I also love how different she manages to sound here as compared to when she's doing Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series. It's so impressive.
