What a fun way to end (this portion of) the series; I'm glad I stuck with it! Like many others, I wasn't a huge fan of the third book, where it felt like we were basically just going through the same story again. This follows some of the same beats, and there are still sooooo many characters, but somehow it worked better here -- I imagine it's because there was an overarching sense that each storyline was going to have some sort of completion.
As with the other Finlay Donovan books, nothing's going to go according to plan and Finlay and Vero will find themselves in absurd situations over and over again. Some people might be over that, and I totally get if they are, but it's part of the fun! I still love Finlay and Vero's relationship, and I appreciated the story arc for Finlay's mom. I don't know that I'll ever really buy Finlay being with Nick, but hey, it's just a book.
I recommend this for fans of cozy mysteries, people who don't mind some level of copaganda, and folks who are in a reading slump and need something silly to pull them out of it.

These books are always such a wild ride! It’s so fun to read something that tackles how complicated it can be to experience the unglamorous parts of motherhood, while simultaneously trying to blaze a new path for yourself, IN TANDEM WITH TRYING TO COVER YOUR ACCIDENTAL CRIME TRACKS.
Finlay and Vero and their “girls’ weekend” in Atlantic City are full of mishaps and close calls and dangerous mobsters, while also giving moments of hilarious levity and some heart pounding romantic moments as well.
I don’t know if this is the last installment in Finlay’s adventure, but so many of the loose ends throughout these four books do get tied up pretty nicely…while also landing us on a bit of a cliffhanger that leaves plenty of room to keep going.
The audio narration is superb! The different voices and accents that the narrator has for everyone felt fun and genuine and not cringey. Her intonation and reading keep you on the edge of your seat and I would highly recommend that version if you enjoy listening to books.

Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan audio for an advanced copy of this audiobook.
This has been one of my favourite series to listen to. Finlay and Vero get into so much mayhem, their lives are pure chaos and Angela Dawe just brings this to life in a way that keeps me engaged and laughing.
In the fourth (if we aren’t counting Vero’s short story) Finlay Donovan book, our favourite duo is back but this time it’s a family affair! I don’t want to give any spoilers of book 3 since this picks up right where that one ends but we’re off to Atlantic City for a rescue mission and to find a stolen car. In true Finlay and Vero fashion, you can expect dead bodies, danger and lots of laughs.
While this was my least favourite in the series so far, I was still thoroughly entertained and can’t wait to see what Elle Cosimano gives us in the next book.

Finlay and Vero are at it again, but this time in Atlantic City. The book picks up where the last left off. They’re in desperate need of a girls vacation, but in reality, it’s just a cover to go rescue Javi, recover the stolen car, and settle up with the loan shark. One catch, though. EVERYONE winds up going, kids, ex-husband, mom, Nick and sister- along with several of the police force. Will they be able to handle it all with everyone watching out for them?
Once again, Elle knocks it out of the ballpark! I love this series so much! It’s always such a fun and entertaining read and I can’t get through it fast enough. The audio is my favorite because Angela is FANTASTIC as the narrator! Loved this addition to the series!

I was given advanced access to Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice in exchange for an honest review. Thanks NetGalley!
This is the 4th book in the Finlay Donovan Series. If you haven't read the first three, I highly recommend you do!
I binge listened to the whole book in one dayI really enjoy the narrator for this series, especially Vero's voice.
I read in another review that its nice old plots are wrapped up in this book. I have to agree, I'm glad that happened in this book. I'm ready for some fresh drama. Love the relationship between Vero and Finn (and really all the characters), so I'm hoping there is a book #5,

Originally I was recommended this series by a book seller at Old Towne Books in Alexandria, Virginia but this installment of the Finlay & Vero storyline just did not do it for me. I found it to be slow moving and kinda dull. Not surprised she ended on a cliff hanger that hints at yet another book. I hated that all the men were just not that important to the storyline. I missed the normal banter between Finlay and Vero. I missed Vero's one liners. I hate that in 2024 and with security camera these two women can move bodies without ever coming close to get caught by the police. I did like the addition of Kevin Bacon and Cam. Stephen, the kids, and even her mother provided NO real humor or obstacles to them having to sneak around in Atlantic City. Once at AC, they just faded to the background. Even Finlay's sister faded into the background. There were no phone calls or texts message from any of her family questioning where she was or when she would be back. Just seemed like a missed opportunity for some humor in this slow moving, dull storyline.
I am not sure if this is the same narrator as all the other Finlay Donavon series or not at first I did not think so but I hate that she reads Vero as being a 80 year old woman instead of being college age.woman.
Bottomline, when the next one comes out in 2025, I will read it and hope Ms. Cosimano will return Finlay & Vero to their bantering roots.

✨ Review ✨ Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice; Narrated by: Angela Dawe
Thanks to Macmillan Audio, St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books, and #netgalley for the gifted advanced copy/ies of this book!
Finlay and Vero are back, this time trekking to Atlantic City to recover Javi and a stolen car, except that they have the kids, Steven, and Finlay's mom in tow. The book starts out with laughs as Steven gets lectured by a cop when he tries to lean out over a bridge to get one of his kid's blankies that blew out the window.
Once again, way over the top, this book is a ridiculous riot of shenanigans and chaos as Finlay and Vero try to track down their marks and hide evidence of crimes along the way. I think this was my second favorite in the series after the first...it had lots of surprises, an engaging plot, and kept me laughing!
The audio narration brought forth the laughs and I really loved it. I do think the narrator's accent for Vero was a little off for me, but otherwise, great, engaging narration!
A must read for lovers of Finlay!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre: mystery, thriller
Setting: Atlantic City
Length: 9 hrs and 5 mins
Pub Date: 05 Mar 2024

This book picks up exactly where Book 3 leaves off! I highly recommend reading these books in order and this is book #4. It is full of Finlay and Vero antics, but also I liked the policeman boyfriend, ex-husband, mom and kids tagging along to the casinos in Atlantic City. I love this series as a fun and at times over the top break from real life! This is a series for when you need a palate cleanser between books that make you think! The narrator has been the same for all of the books in the series and she is perfect!

There is nothing better than looking forward to a new Finlay Donovan book, and this one really was a wild ride. Finlay takes a road trip to Atlantic City with her kids, Vero and her ex-husband Steven, to find Vero's childhood crush Javi, as well as a loan shark and a stolen car. If you haven't read Vero's novella, Veronica Ruiz Breaks the Bank, then I recommend reading it first as it has the whole backstory with these two, and Vero is still my favourite character! Although Finlay's kids and the wiener dog named Kevin Bacon are pretty funny too.
This book was even more campy and over the top than the previous ones but also, hilarious! I don't want to say too much and spoil the fun but if you enjoyed the previous books in the series you will get some good laughs from this one.
The audiobook narration by Angela Dawe is pitch perfect, she has great comedic timing and tone for the story.

Finlay and Vera sure knows how to keep us entertained! Back with their "odd" detective ways, we go on a journey to Atlantic City in search of Javi, Vera's childhood friend. Of course Finlay's Mom, Steve the ex-husband and the kids all go with providing us with laugh's, nail-biting moments and pure disbelief of what these two ladies get up. Not forgetting the her new cop boyfriend who shows up too ;)
The Finlay Donovan is such a feel good series that you want more when the book is done. Narrated by Angela Dawe, Angela brings this story to life. Elle Cosimano does a fantastic job keeping the story going with little breathing room in between. Definitely waiting for the next instalment!
Thank you Netgalley and Macmillan Audio for this audiobook ARC.

What a wild ride. I think I might have liked this one better than #3.
The pacing was fast and furious, right from the get-go, and I legit LOL’d at the Chubby’s scene.
Full Disclosure: If you have trouble suspending disbelief, this might not be the series for you, (are we really thinking a USB would work after traversing, in its entirety, the digestive tract of a wiener dog?) but for those with a penchant for the ridiculous? Dive in.
I enjoyed the setting (Atlantic City is so GROTTY), the secondary characters (Cam!), and the dog. Did I mention the dog?
Really, the only thing I didn’t love was that Stephen seemed to be growing a conscience. I much preferred him as a reprobate. It’s so much easier to laugh at his misfortune.
A word of caution: You will be totally lost if you haven’t read the previous works, but it’s worth it.
Thanks to NetGalley, St Martin’s Press, and Macmillan Audio for this madcap ARC.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice was a complete joy to listen to. I’ve been looking forward to the next installment and it did not disappoint. I love that it picks up right from the end of the previous book. I love the shenanigans that Vera and Finlay get into on their girl’s trip to Atlantic City. Their main purpose is to find Vero’s childhood crush, Javi, who has been taken away by a loan shark. So when Finlay’s ex and mother decide to go with them, they find themselves having to cover up the real reason for the trip. Then, Finlay’s sister and handsome police officer boyfriend decide to join them too! By the time they’ve found the loan shark, he is already dead and now they’re trying to get out of this convoluted dilemma. There are too many wacky predicaments Finlay and Vero keep getting into, but it makes the storyline hilarious. I love the dash or romance sprinkled in between for our two main characters. The narration was a delight to listen to. I love the quirky storyline. I hope this series continues because these unique characters are just the palate cleanser everyone needs.

This series is made for audio. 🎧🩷
Angela Dawe’s narration is superb and brings these books to life.
I can’t read this series, I have to listen to it. I just have to.
But then I run into the problem where I binge it so fast & then have to wait a year for the next one. But it’s a price I’ll gladly pay because this series is wild and fun and just goes off the rails in such a hilarious way.
This was the craziest one yet & I loved every second. Keep doing what you’re doing @ellecosimano! 🎲🩷
Special thanks to @macmillan.audio for the ALC.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Receiving an advanced copy was a delightful surprise. I believe both existing fans and newcomers will find it equally enjoyable.

Finlay and Vero are back again on another witty and wild adventure continuing right where we left them! I always look forward to reading what kind of mess they accidentally get into and this one was no different. This is an enjoyable series and I thought by the end that it was going to be wrapped up, only to leave us with yet another cliffhanger!

Once again Finlay and Vero are off on a crazy adventure to Atlantic City. This time they end up on a road trip with Finlay's ex husband, two kids, and her mom. Of course the hot cop, Nick, Finlay's sister, her girlfriend Sam, and other characters from the previous book all end up in Atlantic City as well. Book 4 picks up right where book 3 left off. It took a while for me to get back into the story and remember what had happened previously in the story, but this book does a good job giving some recaps. Once again we get some fun and crazy hijinks and adventures.
The Finlay Donovan series are fun, fluffy reads and this book is no exception. The first two books were my favorites in the series, and it is now starting to feel like this series is getting super long and the story is dragging out too long. While it is fun and I enjoyed the book, book 4 has A LOT going on and was very plot driven. While I was happy some of the storylines are wrapping up, I felt like it was missing some of the humor and fun we got in the first two books. The ending sets us up for book 5 but unlike with previous books, I'm not sure if I am hooked enough to keep going with this series.
Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for sending me an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve been anxiously awaiting this release for a year and it did not disappoint! Picking up from the last book, our favorite duo is back as Finlay and Vero head to Atlantic City to find Javi and recover a stolen crew, but soon they’re joined by the entire crew in tow (babies, ex-husband, and hot cop included). It isn’t long before they encounter another body (they seriously have the worst luck!) and shenanigans ensue as they search for the murderer.
This is always such a fun read that leaves me laughing out loud while simultaneously holding my breath to see if they make it out unscathed.
Angela Dawe did a great job narrating so many different voices, from Finlay and Vero to the kids, grandma, mobsters and more!
Thank you to Macmillan Audio for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Finlay Donovan is at it again! This book, like the previous three, is full of murder, mishaps, kidnapping, and trying to juggle being a mom on top of it all. These books are funny and totally unrealistic, but I like them just the same.
However, we are now at the fourth installment and it’s getting a bit repetitive. I’m not sure that I’ll be able to handle much more of the same in future books.

I just love Finlay and Vero so much and this book was one of my favorites. Full of laugh out loud moments, mystery, suspense, a little romance and lots of fun! The narrator did an amazing job at bringing all the characters to life and I’ll definitely be recommending the audiobook.

People can say what they want; I’m always entertained when I pick up a Finlay Donovan book. Is the series getting more and more ridiculous as it goes on? Yes, but I’m having fun reading it, and to me, that’s what matters most.
I would also strongly recommend getting the audiobooks for this series. The narrator, Angela Dawe, is great at coming up with different voices for all the characters and acting out the emotions behind their dialogues.
