I’ll read absolutely anything Finley and Vero do. This is another fantastic novel. I laugh out loud the whole read through and I can’t wait for another!! Thanks to NetGalley for the chance to review!

3.25 stars

I quite liked the first two books in the series, but was disappointed with installments 3 and 3.5… this book felt more similar to the first two, which I liked. But it had some of the same pitfalls, too.

This had more humor than the last book, and everything was tied up neatly in the end, which I appreciate. <spoiler>The ending made it seem like we're finally done with the long storyline about Felix & friends, and it's about time.</spoiler>

There's even more sexual content in this one than in the previous books, which was obnoxious.

There's profanity, including Christ, God, and Jesus used as curses.

The “Catholic” mother character really bugs me. She not only approves of but encourages her daughter to have sex outside marriage and she's totally okay with another daughter's homosexual lifestyle, but then tells them not to use God's name in vain… and also, anything goes as long as you go to confession and mass later. Really? People (and characters) like this give Christians a bad name, and make a joke of Jesus.

Also, while this is a more random complaint, every time the characters needed to disguise their voices, they mentioned that they sounded like Finlay's book agent. Once, it would have been fine. But this happened a good four times.

Overall, I like the humorous approach to mystery, but the immoral content spoils the experience quite a bit.

Finlay can’t catch a break. Just when she thinks something is over, it just never is, especially for her, it seems. When Javi, Vero’s childhood (and maybe current?) crush is kidnapped, the dynamic duo decide to get to Atlantic City to save him. What they don’t anticipate is the whole damn family coming along, and then even more showing up once they’re already knee-deep in their search! How will they find Javi, and fix all the fires they come across (*ahem*-caused?) with everyone right under their noses! Finlay and Vero have to juggle the people they love, their enemies, and people they love to hate, all while dousing the many flames.
I think this is the best Finlay Donovan so far. Hilarious and steamy, with real emotion happening all the while, Cosimano, along with an excellent and strong narration by Angela Dawe, create a story that is in-put-downable. I plowed through this book because I was laughing, exasperated, and most importantly invested in the story. Would absolutely recommend this fourth installment of a great series.

Thank you @macmillan.audio @netgalley for a copy of this book.

I think this was my favorite of the series. I debated about giving up on this series after book 2 and 3, I am so glad I didn't. This book picks ups from where book 3 ends and Finlay and gang goes to Atlantic City for a getaway. Of course it's just a cover up to go and find Javi and find a stolen car. Finlay and Vero continues to be in kinds of trouble. I love that the whole family ends up there and even the kids played a role in the story. The narration was great and this was lots of fun.

I have enjoyed everyone of the Finlay Donovan books in the series so far! This was no exception. This book had you wanting to turn page after page to find out what happened next and who was involved. I am super excited to see what Elle Cosimano has in store for her next book!

Fantastic! I love the Finlay Donovan series, it has it all. You are captivated by the dynamic duo of what is the Finlay and Vero tag team, strong female heroines that slay it at sleuthing, it's so entertaining. It's a thrilling girls road trip to Atlantic City that gets hijacked by their whole family, including their exes and the new detective bf, creating a hilariously entertaining ride. & Again the audiobook narrator was amazing, I highly recommend.

The next installment of the Finlay Donovan series did not disappoint! Finlay and Vera are off on another wild adventure - this time with kids, a grandma, an ex-husband in tow, along with more surprises along the way! The book picks up almost right after the last book left off, when Finlay and Vera decide to rescue Javier from a kidnapping and begin their search in Atlantic City, NJ. Things quickly take a turn for the worse when they stumble upon not one, but two, dead bodies. Determined to find Javier and once again outmaneuver mob boss Felix and dirty cop Charlie, hilarity ensues as Finlay and Vera find themselves way over their heads again - this time in the casino nightlife!

I have avidly kept up with this series, and I am so glad that the fourth installment was just as good as the first. I look forward to the next! Thank you for allowing me to read and review this audiobook for NetGalley!

Thank you, NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this advanced reader’s copy audiobook. Finlay is hilarious! I have read all the Finlay books and they are laugh out loud hilarious. The situations that Finlay and Vera get themselves into and out of without getting caught or seriously injured are both surprising and ridiculous, but that’s what makes the these books fun to read. This book takes them to Atlantic City, NJ. As I am from Atlantic City, it was fantastic to hear how my home was described. It was accurate! Love the dynamics between Finlay and Vera. And can I also say the hotness between Finlay and cop, Nick? Yum! Also love the fighting between the ex husband and Finlay, I’m just waiting for the book when Finlay has to possibly save the ex-husband from the cleaner or chose Nick’s life over the ex-husband’s. Mwhaaaa. Love these books. Keep ‘em coming. I’ll keep reading them. Great narration for the audiobook.

Finlay and Vero are at it again! Those two can get into so much trouble. Hang on to your hats as the ladies search for a way out of trouble yet again!
Once again it is one mistake after another. The ladies find themselves on a road trip to save Javi, yet somehow the car is filled with kids, an ex-husband and even a mother. One misunderstanding after another, and this comedy of errors becomes a bit much at times.
Cosimo may be trying too hard to keep alive these lovable characters. A bit too much suspended disbelief required this time around. A few great laughs, but the storyline was lacking substance.

Hilarious! Ellie Cosimano does it again. Another fun filled adventure for Finlay and Vero 😂. They head to Atlantic City with mom, the kids and ex husband, boyfriend Nick shows up too as things heat up -pun intended. (lol). Although at times a bit unbelievable, Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice delivers a thoroughly entertaining tale. Narrator Angela Dawes makes it even more enjoyable.

I’m totally hooked, can’t wait for the next escapades of F&V.

Thanks McMillan Audio and Net Galley for this advanced audio book. All opinions are my own.

I keep coming back for these characters and the laugh out loud moments. This one is full of laugh out loud moments. This is like the Lucy Show for readers.

The last few have not been as solid as the first one. While you have to suspend reality these are a bit much. However that ending has me ready for the next one to see what shenanigans are next!

Following a disastrous week at the police academy searching out corruption within the force and where things also got a little heated (in more ways than one) a trip to Atlantic City is just what Finlay and Vero need to get away. Unfortunately, it's less for rest and relaxation and more to find track down Vero's childhood crush, Javi, who was last seen being carted away in the trunk of Finlay's criminally-gifted Aston Martin. It's not just by chance that Atlantic City is where they're headed, moreso that the loan shark Vero owes money to is calling all debts paid and using Javi and the car as collateral.

Finlay and Vero are becoming pros at dealing with the criminal underground but with the kids, Finlay's mother and her ex husband in tow it might be bordering on too much. And when the loan shark is found dead and Nick and his cohorts at the police show up after an anonymous tip is received about an ongoing case and it'll take a lucky roll of the dice to get Finlay out of this one.

I continue to marvel at how well Elle Cosimano weaves all the twists and turns of all the things that Finlay and Vero get up to that, in the end, is very cohesive. It seems so difficult because these books always feel so chaotic to me. Finlay and Vero are running from one thing to the next getting into one form of trouble or another and hiding it from most everyone around them. To be honest, they shouldn't have been able to weave around all the law enforcement, but as a testament to Elle Cosimano's writing, and to how much I like Finlay and Vero, it all feels so plausible.

I like that this time around we got the inclusion of Finlay's mother a bit more. I like Finlay having another female character outside of Vero that she can count on, and maybe be a little more open with since she can't really do that with her sister Georgia due to her sister's involvement with the police.

Also, for better or worse, I was ok with Stephen tagging along just because he actually got the tables turned on him a bit in the fact that during this "girls weekend away" he had to be the one taking care of the kids and seeing him flustered with the job was very enjoyable. In all seriousness, though, we understand from the first book that there's still a lot of baggage left between Finlay and Stephen. And seeing her get to unload some of that so she can move on with Nick is great.

I was very happy when Nick and Finlay finally "went there" in the previous book. I like what they're building together. Of course, we can only go so far in talking about their relationship before all the secrets Finlay is keeping come into the picture. It's difficult to see how things could work out considering everything that Finlay is hiding but, like the story as a whole, I trust Elle Cosimano to somehow figure it out. I'm rooting for these two.

This has become one of my favorite series and I look forward to each release. Without giving anything away, I will say that this book does more in tying up loose threads than the previous two books in the series. I had started to believe that the series was winding down, and I guess that could still be a possibility, but Elle Cosimano has left just enough open to be able to come back and tug on a thread for another round of Finlay and Vero hijinks.

Synopsis: In the fourth installment of the Finlay Donovan series, Finlay and Vero wind up in Atlantic City to find a missing person and a stolen car, and this time the whole family is along for the ride.

Thoughts: Finlay Donovan has become on of those series for me that is reliably enjoyable. I know what to expect, and the author consistently delivers a fun, zany read. Finlay and Vero are up to their wild shenanigans again in this book, picking up right where the third left off and with a great segue into book five. A note on the audio: I have listened to this entire series on audio, and Angela Dawes captures the characters and vibe of the story perfectly.

Read this if you like:
🎲 Atlantic City
🎲 zany characters
🎲 shenanigans
🎲 cozy/fun mysteries
🎲 Stephanie Plum

This is definitely my least favourite book in the Finlay Donovan series. The first 2 books were fast paced and I was invested in the characters and what was going to happen next. The 3rd book was ehhh… and this one just got worse (unfortunately). As the series has gone on I have found a lot of the events far fetched and unbelievable.

I love the characters in this series yet found myself rolling my eyes like “how could more happen” multiple times throughout this book in particular. With the way this book ended, I am assuming there will be a 5th book… but I kind of wished this was the end of the line for these characters. I find it hard not to finish a series (especially once I’m 4 books in) so we’ll see how I’m feeling when the 5th comes out, but am feeling disappointed Finlay & Vero’s story didn’t wrap up.

Thank you so much Netgalley, Macmillan Audio & St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read / listen to this ARC.

Finlay is BACK and this book is everything we love about her, Vero, Nick, and the crew… but put them in Atlantic City and bring her mom along 🤣 I enjoyed every ridiculous moment, every call back to previous capers, and every hilarious lie she told. It’s getting to be nerve wracking when I think of whether Nick will forgive her for all these lies, but at least he seems to turn a blind eye to the worst ones. But this time it’s Vero who is intent on rescuing Javi, and no bodies will stand in her way!

Bottom line: if you like the other Finlay Donovan books, you’ll love this too! Great narration and chock full of humor. Loved it!

The first Finlay Donovan will forever be my favorite, but this is a very close second! I loved the setting- with a fun Vegas feel! I enjoyed how all the characters came together for this one! Such a great read!

Thank you to Macmillan Audio and Elle Cosimano for the audio version of this book!

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one! I have loved each of the Findlay books so far and this one didn't disappoint! This one was complete with dead bodies and romance!

The plot is fast-paced and packed with suspense, keeping readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. Cosimano expertly weaves together multiple storylines, including a kidnapping, a stolen car, and a mysterious murder, creating a narrative that is as unpredictable as it is engaging.

Keep the books of the adventures of Findlay and Vero coming!!!!

I have been a fan of this series from the beginning. I was an avid Stephanie Plum fan (mostly just books 1-9) and was hoping to find something similar, and found this. I love this series! Being a mom myself, I think I more closely relate to this series- kids make everything more challenging- and the complexity and humor make it just so enjoyable.

I think this book is more similar to the first book, writing style, plot, and just general feeling of the book; and I think that may be why I enjoyed it so much.

The narration of this book just puts it over the top for me. I think that can make or break a book like this (in the audiobook realm). And the narration just seals it. I have already bought this for myself on audible.

Thank you for the advanced audio copy. Fabulous.

Finlay and Vero are back! This book picks up right where book three ended. After receiving a ransom note they are on a mission to save Vero’s boyfriend Javi and clear their names. Under the guise of a girls trip they head to Atlantic City with the kids, Finlay’s mom and ex-husband. Things get way more complicated when 4 members of the police department including Nick Finlay’s boyfriend and sister Lucy arrive with Lucy’s new girlfriend, an FBI agent. As the bodies begin to pile up, can they get Javi back and keep Nick and the police in the dark?
Like all the previous books in this series, it’s fast paced, action packed, and very entertaining. I’ll be here waiting for book 5 to see what on earth Mrs. Haggerty has done.
