Finlay Donovan strikes again! I love the hot mess mom/nanny combo that is Finlay and Vero. And the road trip to Atlantic City was amazing.

Book 4 picks up right after the events of the police academy in book 3. Giving us more of detective Nick and Finlayโ€™s relationship and even bringing in Finlayโ€™s mom and sister so we can get to know them even better.

And (spoiler!!!) Vero gets her happy ending too with Javi- swoon! ๐Ÿ˜

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A worthy entry to the series. Finlay and Vero head to Atlantic City to retrieve Javi, but the mission is complicated by her ex-husband and mother tagging along on the trip, not to mention the FBI and FCPD showing up. And would it even be a Finlay Donovan book if she didn't stumble across a dead body she could easily be arrested for murdering? Much like the Stephanie Plum series, they get a little formulaic, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't love the formula. And the cliffhanger ending has me excited for the next entry.

I am such a Finlay Donovan stan. The series as a whole is so fun, and each book has been full of hilarious, albeit sometimes flat out dumb antics that I just canโ€™t get enough of. I will be so pumped to see this series continue on!

Our story takes place on the heels of the last book, Jumps the Gun, in which Finlay and our favorite side kick, Vero have just returned home from a weekend at the police academy. If you remember the ending, the show ainโ€™t over yet! So, off Finlay and Vero go, to Atlantic City in pursuit of a very expensive car and its *cough* hot *cough* cargo. In true hot mess fashion, not only does Finlayโ€™s ex husband insist on tagging along, but so does Finlayโ€™s mother. And what trip on the struggle bus would be complete without throwing in your new boyfriend, FBI agent sister and a handful of mobsters?! So. Much. Fun! 4 โญ๏ธ (Much like Finlayโ€™s agent, I want more of the hot cop romance!)

I canโ€™t recommend the audiobooks enough! Hearing the story with voices and comedic timing is everything!

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this advanced copy, in exchange for my unbiased review.

I absolutely LOVE the Finlay Donovan Series!! I have read all three books so when I was able to listen to this one I was so excited!! The narrator Angela Dawe did an amazing job. I hope to listen to the next book as well. She had me laughing out loud so many times and I couldn't stop listening because she just made me feel like I was there with all the characters. Finlay is such a fun character on her own but add Vero in the mix and OMG those two! This book had so many WTH moments and I loved it! Finlay and Vero will take you and such a fun and enjoyable ride. I HIGHLY recommend this book and this series. Once you start you can't stop!!! Enjoy!

This was a suspenseful and hilarious journey with Finlay and Vero in Atlantic City. The duo's comedic shenanigans, crazy ideas, and over-the-top actions kept me laughing, while Elle Cosimano masterfully weaves in unexpected family drama and more. Angela Dawe's narration enhances the experience, bringing Finlay and Vero to life with impeccable tones and inflections. Together, Cosimano's engaging storytelling and Dawe's skillful narration make this audiobook a must-listen for those craving a thrilling and humorous ride. I was so sad when the book ended. I hope there will be more in this series. I need more Finlay and Vero shenanigans.

In true Finlay Donovan fashion the book starts with a dead bodies! I LOVE this series, it reminds me so much of Janet Evanovich humor and mystery. The storyline continues in New Jersey with all the regular characters and the same antics. It took a bit to remember how everyone is pieced together after the year but then it all comes back. Canโ€™t wait for the next one!

The Finlay Donovan series is one of those that is best consumed via audiobooks. I love the different voices that Angela Dawe has for the characters. It really brings them to life!
Finlay Donovan is the fourth in the series and I do feel it is necessary to have read the first three. I read the third book about nine months prior to this one and the author gives subtle reminders as to what had happened. I had no problems recalling the major details. Like in previous Finlay books there's a fair share of shenanigans, humor, and dead bodies!

Finlay Donovan and her sidekick Vero are two of my favorite crime-fighting friends. These two always find murder and mayhem. They are also hilarious!

This is book four of the series, and I didnโ€™t think I could love Finlay and Vero more than I already did. But this time, itโ€™s about friends and family - a lot of family - in close proximity.

Finlay and Vero are headed to Atlantic City to save Javi, Veroโ€™s childhood crush, and search for a stolen car - claiming it off as a โ€œgirl's weekend.โ€ Yet suddenly, they find Finlayโ€™s two small kids, her mother, and her ex-husband are all coming with them.

Of course, Finlay and Vero find trouble - dead bodies in a hotel suite. As the cops arrive, one is Finlayโ€™s hot cop boyfriend; it only adds to the family circus.

Finlay never disappoints, and I loved all the crazy family chaos in this installment. There are a lot of wild antics, and the mystery is entertaining, too. I think I say this every time, but oh, to have a friend like Vero.

๐ŸŽงI loved pairing my reading experience with the audiobook; the production was amazing. Thank you @macmillan.audio for the gifted audiobook.

Elle Cosimano has done it again! I didn't think the series could get any better, but each book offers a new and thrilling adventure! As a kid, my favorite show was I Love Lucy, and to this day, it's my comfort show. Finlay and Vero are my bookish Lucy & Ethel, and they give me such joy and comfort! The Finlay Donovan series has become a treasured favorite for me. All your favorite characters are back for another twisted mystery full of bookish slapstick comedy that is laugh-out-loud funny! Angela Dawe returns to work her magic, narrating the story. She does a fantastic job with the voices and making the characters come to life. While listening, I found myself thinking this would make an amazing sitcom! "Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice" will have you hooked from start to finish. Once you jump on the hot mess express, you won't be able to look away! This one was the silliest and most outlandish of them all, but it's fitting with the crazy characters, which were so well developed in previous books. This installment is more plot heavy with a little something for everyone. It's full of suspense, action, humor, and even a steamy love-affair (Yes, Nick is back! Wink! Wink!). If you haven't read this series yet, then what are you doing!?! Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is a heart-warming cozy mystery that will give you all the feels! 4 stars! In the words of Sylvia, Finlay's agent, โ€œBut Iโ€™m telling you, Finlay, this book is good. This whole series is good. The plots may be a little far-fetched, but these characters are so real! Itโ€™s like they just leap off the page!โ€

Another fantastic misadventure for Finlay! Iโ€™d say this be ranks up there with the second book (#1 was by far my favorite; #3 coming in behind the lot). Still lots of hijinx, suspense, and humor. I selfishly wanted more romance for Finlay during this book, but boy was it action-packed.

Narrator did some excellent accents, but the some of the regular speaking pronunciation sounded weird to me. Didnโ€™t stop me from listening by any means.

LOVED! The Finlay Donovan series is one of my absolute favorites to read as an audiobook. The narrator does such a great job of making Finlay and Vero come to life and delivers their witty one-liners flawlessly. As Finlay and Vero's situation heats up in this 4th novel, the women take a trip to Atlantic City to find a loan shark and save Javi. Hilarity ensues as the pair once again finds themselves in the middle of a major crime ring. This series is such a feel good series for me. I love the characters and their personalities. I hope Elle Cosimano keeps making more of these books!

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for granting me a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review!

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice is the 4th book in the series and quite possibly the funniest.

"Finlay and Vero head to Atlantic City to find Javi, Vero's childhood crush, deal with Vero's massive debt with a loan shark and find the missing car. It started as a Girl's weekend, but ex-husband Steven demands to go with the kids and Finlay's mom tags along and drives everyone in her minivan.
Mayhem ensues!"

Finlay is just a regular single mom, trying to take care of her kids, write her books and find some romance along the way. Cosimano puts her in crazy situations where she always seems to find a way to escape the worst-case circumstances. The scene at Chubby's with Steel Johnson and Finlay's mom was hilarious. I was laughing so hard I almost wrecked the car. I know Cosimano had fun writing the scene in Hectpr's garage. And Steven is still an idiot.

Angela Dawe is phenomenal on the audiobook. There are multiple characters - male and female - and multiple accents. She nails it all. (Chubby's alone is worth the price of the book)

Cosimano keeps the tension high with everything that happens and makes us laugh along the way. Another great Finlay Donovan story.

The Finlay Donovan series are FANTASTIC on audio, with Rolls the Dice (latest installment) being no exception!

Finlay and Vero are on a high stakes quest to save Javi. This time with Finlay's Mom, cop acquaintances and ex husband along for the ride. Quickly, they disxocer they are in for more than they bargained for with Marco's demands. Demands that may not mean anything upon discovering Marco dead without evidence of a killer. Finlay I'd about to roll the dice on how her future will play out in this hilarious fourth "Finlay Donovan" installment.

I loved the jam packed action/pacing in Rolls the Dice and couldn't put it down once I started listening! Angela Dawe makes every single Finlay book by Elle Cosimano a MUST LISTEN for me. I felt like I was right there with Finlay and Vero figuring out each clue while running around Atlantic City.

Vero shenanigans? CHECK!
Finlay's kids being adorable? CHECK!
Steven being..well Steven? CHECK!
Nick coming closer to discovering Finlay's true identity? CHECK!

Let the shenanigans begin.

I will give this one 3.5 stars overall because I have very mixed feelings on this series at this point. I still love the humor of this series, and the banter of the characters is unmatched in this genre. On the flip side, the endearing bumbles and poor choices of the first book have become tedious and annoying by book 4. There is no learning curve for Finlay and Vero, and they continue to make stupid choices that somehow get amazingly resolved in the end. I really thought that this book was heading for a series conclusion (which I was hoping for.....go out on a higher note versus the lower note that I am starting to form) when a twist at the end lets you know book 5 is coming. My other beef is that there are many references to past characters and plot points, and no background is provided.....the reader is just supposed to remember everything from the previous books. With the number now in the series, I will not be rereading in order to be prepared for a new book. This has been a fun series, but it really does need to end (and I think I said this after book 3 as well). But......now that I am this far in, I am sure I will read the next book :).

3.75/5 rounded up to 4

Elle Cosimanoโ€™s characters are so fun. She creates this universe where you feel like you know each and every character, like they are close friends or acquaintances. Usually after I read a book itโ€™s like an eraser hits my brain and clears everything out to prepare for the next read but with Cosimanoโ€™s writing it only takes a second to jog my memory about who is who (even if I havenโ€™t read the other books in a year). I love that.

This book was fun, thereโ€™s always trouble aplenty when Finlay and Vero are involved. I love the conversations they have and the antics of Vero which are so random and off the wallโ€ฆas usual. That scene at Chubbies not Chubbyโ€™s was hilarious.

Finlayโ€™s ex husband is a whole disaster as usual. Heโ€™s such a goof. Sure youโ€™re a serial cheater but letโ€™s give you another chance. How about no!!?!!! Nick had a smaller role in this book but youโ€™ll still be rooting for Finlay and Nick.

This one had a Weekend At Bernieโ€™s vibe which was a nice touch. This one had less to do with Finlayโ€™s career and more to do with the trouble sheโ€™s gotten herself in. I donโ€™t recommend reading this if you havenโ€™t read the earlier books in the series 1st.

Angela Dawe is a brilliant audio narrator and a perfect selection for this series. I was psyched when I saw she was staying on for this book too. She nails it every time. For me the wrong narrator can really ruin an audiobook. Angela effortlessly and seamlessly switches up her voice throughout which I canโ€™t image is an easy thing to do.

I wanted a little bit more out of this book but I still had a great time reading it. The 1st and 2nd books are my favs in the series. Iโ€™d love if they made this a Netflix series or something like that because Elle Cosimano writes such fun characters.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for my copy of Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice by Elle Cosimano Narrated by Angela Dawe in exchange for an honest review. It publishes March 5, 2024.
As always, Angela Dawe does a great job. She does excellent accents, and even does pretty decent job of mens' voices!
Once again Finlay and Vero are up to their crazy antics. This time, we get to travel with them to Atlantic City, and the whole family comes along. There a lot of drama, danger, and we are all here for it. I love that in this series, everyone's life continues to move forward, it keeps things fresh, fun, and interesting. If you enjoyed the previous Finlay books, you'll definitely enjoy this one!

Another fun read in the Finlay Donovan series. I loved the road trip to Atlantic City locale for this one. As always, lots of laughs, ridiculous situations, crazy characters, and just non stop action and fun. I loved the narrator - complemented the storyline so well!

Ahhh...Finlay and Vero are back and the hijinks and calamities continue in this brilliant series that really needs to be made into a TV series. I love the fast pace and the way they roll with the punches often making lemonade out of life's lemons. The hilarious addition of Finlay's ex and her mom coming on the road trip is pure gold and I enjoyed every moment. I listened to the audiobook and Angela Dawe does such a fantastic job with all of the characters that I felt like I listened to a wild adventure of a movie.
