I loved how Book 4 tied up many loose ends from the previous books. The mystery in this installment was captivating, and I was thrilled to see the kids play a more significant role. The romance between Finlay and Nick really heated up; it's about time! I have a soft spot for Nick and his presence in the story was a delight. Of course, Steven's dramatic flair added some spice, but it only made the moments when Finlay and Nick stole some time together better.

Fans of this series will not be disappointed. I highly recommend immersing yourself in the rich history of the previous books first. It's like stepping into a familiar world, enhancing the reading experience. The book ends in the most hilarious way, setting the stage for the next book, which I'm eagerly anticipating!

Thank you for the gifted book Macmillan Audio!

This series is always a fun time as you jump back into Finlay and Vero's crazy world. They seem to be digging themselves out of the giant hole of trouble they have found themselves in, but as always, there are things and people that pop up and complicate matters. I like how more and more the secondary characters are becoming further integrated into the plot. It makes things that much more interesting!

Content Warning: This book is more suggestive about sexual encounters than previous books in the series. Still no graphic descriptions.

This is book #4 in the Finlay Donovan series and needs to be read after you read the first 3 books to fully enjoy it.

This has quickly become one of my all time favorite series. Finlay and Vero are such fun characters who always manage to be stuck in the craziest situations. This time they are on the search for a stolen car and a kidnapped person and must find them before another wrong set of hands does. Add in their cover story of a girl's weekend that's crashed by not only Finlay's ex and her mother, but her new beau and his whole team swarm the hotel on their own search for another criminal. Will they be able to lie and sneak their way past everyone to find the car and Javi? This was so entertaining and the narration was incredible.

I don't think there will ever come a day I am not utterly delighted by Finlay Donovan and Co. I love these books. Narration by Angela Dawe is always spot on - I especially love her rendition of Vero and Finlay's mom. Speaking of Vero, I love her so much, she is unhinged in the best ways. The crew make a trip to Atlantic City in the outing and the hijinks is hilarious. Hot Cop Nick is a dream as always and I am dying to know whether he will ever find out what the girls have been up to all this time. Shockingly, I also thought Steven was fun this time around!

And, the best part... just when you think everything might be all tied up nicely with a bow, Elle Cosimano gives us just enough to be chomping at the bit for the next installment!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an audio ARC.

This is the fourth book in the fifth book series. I actually read this first and really enjoyed it. Finlay Donavan is hilarious. In this story her and her partner in crime Vero need a girls weekend vacay and that's just what they do. I love it.

Another great book in the series. I laughed through the whole story and loved the narrator. I will say that with the increase in characters in the series, the chaos has just gotten crazy. Luckily, it still makes me laugh so well worth the listen.

Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the opportunity to review Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice. All opinions are my own.

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Author: Elle Cosimano

I requested a digital advanced readers copy from NetGalley, Minotaur Books and Macmillan Audio and providing my opinion voluntarily and unbiased.

Synopsis: Finlay Donovan and her nanny/partner-in-crime Vero are in sore need of a girls’ weekend away. They plan a trip to Atlantic City, but odds are―seeing as it’s actually a cover story to negotiate a deal with a dangerous loan shark, save Vero’s childhood crush Javi, and hunt down a stolen car―it won’t be all fun and games. When Finlay’s ex-husband Steven and her mother insist on tagging along too, Finlay and Vero suddenly have a few too many meddlesome passengers along for the ride.

Within hours of arriving in their seedy casino hotel, it becomes clear their rescue mission is going to be a bust. Javi’s kidnapper, Marco, refuses to negotiate, demanding payment in full in exchange for Javi’s life. But that’s not all―he insists on knowing the whereabouts of his missing nephew, Ike, who mysteriously disappeared. Unable to confess what really happened to Ike, Finlay and Vero are forced to come up with a new plan: sleuth out the location of Javi and the Aston Martin, then steal them both back.

But when they sneak into the loan shark’s suite to search for clues, they find more than they bargained for―Marco's already dead. They don’t have a clue who murdered him, only that they themselves have a very convincing motive. Then four members of the police department unexpectedly show up in town, also looking for Ike―and after Finlay's night with hot cop Nick at the police academy, he’s a little too eager to keep her close to his side.

If Finlay can juggle a jealous ex-husband, two precocious kids, her mother’s marital issues, a decomposing loan shark, and find Vero’s missing boyfriend, she might get out of Atlantic City in one piece. But will she fold under the pressure and come clean about the things she’s done, or be forced to double down?

My Thoughts: This is the fourth novel in the series and I could not wait for this one! I love this series so much. Each novel, including this one, can be read as a standalone. However, you will get more character enrichment by reading the series, as well as a more enjoyable reading experience. Onto the next adventure for Fin, her sidekick Vero, with children in tow, and ex-husband not far behind. In this installment, Fin and Vero are trying to find and save Vero’s childhood friend, Javi. They decide to take a girl’s trip to Atlantic City and mom decides to join them. It starts off swell when ex-husband also joins them to “babysit.” The story opens up classic Fin with Steven and Fin chasing her youngest son’s beloved stuffed animal across a very busy interstate. This story has a few genres mixed in, we have primary the cozy mystery, a little bit thriller, and a slight romance.

The story is narrated by Finlay Donovan, in her POV. Fin is in the middle of writing an installment novel and her editor is pressuring her, as always. Fin still has the Russia mob, the loan shark, trying to find Javi, jealous ex-husband tagging along, and lets not forget the new maybe, maybe not cop boyfriend that also shows up in Atlantic City with his shady partner. If you read them in order, you will reap the benefits of further character development in each installment. The characters were well developed with depth, mystery, witty banter, chemistry, passion, and were creatively curated. The supporting characters, such as Vero, Mom, and even copy boyfriend Nick really enrich the story. The author’s writing style was complex, crisp, suspenseful, intriguing, captivating, and brilliant. Each novel is even more enticing than the last. The characters are continue being developed and the plot is delivered in twisty layers with another cliffhanger ending. These stories absolutely have an “I love Lucy vibe,” which I adore.

This was fabulous. I always look forward to the next book, which will not be until Spring 2025, I will probably go into Finlay deprivation waiting. I had the wonderful pleasure of having both the digital and audio version of the ARC. I preferred the audio. The narrator, Angela Dawe, does an outstanding job. Her voice variation enriches the character distinction. Her pitch and flow is seamless and I can listen at 2x with absolutely no issues. Dawson really nails each character voice, you really differentiate between who is who. I highly recommend picking up this book, and the entire series.

I have enjoyed the other Finlay Donovan books, and this one was no different. All of the funny and fabulous characters are in this book too, including her best friend, Vero; her ex-husband, Steven; and her mom, who is always there to help. Atlantic City will never be the same! Somehow, Finlay always comes out unscathed. You don't want to miss Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice!

Finlay Donovan Rolls the Dice
By Elle Cosimano
Narrated by Angela Dawe
Available now!

Finlay Donovan is up to it again. The antics from the first book have found their match. Rolls the Dice is so much fun. Finlay, Vero, and the rest of the gang take on Atlantic City in search of Javi and the Aston Martin.

I’m not sure how Elle Cosimano comes up with the ideas for these books. All I can say is she has a wild imagination. Finlay and Varo put themselves in many precarious situations in this fast paced book. As in the other books, Angela Dawe, brings the characters to life and adds to the story with her wonderful narration. It is fun, enjoyable, and a great laugh. I highly recommend this third book in the series.

Many thanks to the author, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley, for the opportunity to listen to this ALC for my honest review.

I love these books so much! I love that we get some good resolution with this book but also love that there will be more Finlay Donovan adventures! The justice in the scenes with Steven was amazing, and I loved the romances between Finlay & Nick and Vero & Javi! Such a fun read! And the audiobook is amazing as always!

The 4th book in the "Finlay Donovan" series. The story lines are getting a little more far fetched as each progresses. I liked this one, but I didn't love it. I love the relationship between Finlay and Vero, but it felt like their story lines diverged more than in others. We also saw a lot more of Vero and her story I think, which I wasn't a fan of. I really wanted the Finlay+Nick story line to develop more, though she's in so deep with Vero that I'm not sure where the relationship can go at this point. Overall, fun and very entertaining!

Another great installment to the Finlay Donovan series! I listened to the audio version of this book and the narration was top notch.
I love the zany duo of Finlay and Vero and the silly, hilarious situations they find themselves in. Their interaction with each other keeps me coming back to this series for more. I appreciate that these books are interesting, lighthearted, and clean. This book centers around a road trip and it makes it me want to jump in the car with my bff for some road trip fun - minus the bodies that pile up in Rolls the Dice.

Finlay Donovan does it again in this highstakes cozy mystery, Finlay Donovan Rolls The Dice.

I have devoured each and every one of the books in the Finlay Donovan series and this one is no exception.

I loved it and highly recommend it.

I Love Finlay Donovan! Every book is a new, quirky nonstop adventure that keeps me laughing as I read. The unlikely ensemble of characters and the sticky situations they get in never cease to entertain me. This installation with Finlay's entire family thrown into her unintentional drama was particularly enjoyable. Fantastic characters, witty but funny plot and a lovable heroine-she never disappoints! Keep them coming!

Thank you to Minotaur Books and Macmillan Audio for the copies to review!

This latest installment in the Finlay series, narrated once again by the fabulous Angela Dawe, was super fun and a delight to read as always. I loved that this took place in Atlantic City for a weekend getaway for the girls. Finlay was juggling both a new and old relationship in more ways than one here, and Vero did not disappoint as her trusted sidekick. It does help to read these in order, but honestly, why would you not? This series is the best, the audio is great, and I highly recommend it.

3.5

This is definitely an unpopular opinion but I sadly did not love this Finlay, after enjoying the first 3 books I was excited to see where we picked up. But I found my self so confused at the first at what was happening and did not line up with what I remembered as the cliff hanger. (But to be fair it had been a year between books) but as Finlay and vero went on their adventures I just felt so much anxiety for them especially Finlay I couldn’t see how she was going to get self out of this and i honestly just wanted her to have her HEA by now. To me it feels like the author is dragging out this story because it is popular. But I did enjoy the ending and I liked how it all tied up and once again we are left with a cliff hanger that even though I want to be done with this series I kinda need to know what’s going to happen lol. So over all I didn’t love it but also didn’t hate it? I listened to the audiobook like I have for the rest of the Finlay series and I love the narrator alot!

In this fourth installment, Cosimano expertly "ties up" the loose ends from the previous books. In this novel, the reader follows Finlay to Atlantic City to retrieve Javi. The shenanigans definitely live up to what readers are used to, however, things are complicated as this turns into a family trip. There is, of course, sexual tension as Steven and Nick vie for Finlay’s attention, but in true Finlay Donovan style, there are numerous close calls, and lots of sleuthing! I love this series, and this fourth novel reignites my appreciation for the series.

This was an ALC, and I cannot forget to mention how amazing Angela Dawe is. In her performance, the energy she brings to this role is unparalleled.

Finlay Donovan is back and she is up to her old shenanigans.
Honestly, after the thrid book was a bit of a let down, I wasn't planning to read the fourth book. BUT I am so glad I did. This one was fun. It had the whole cast of characters heading to Atlantic City for more of this story to play out.
I always describe this series as a cozy mystery. Although this is filled with murders, the charm of the characters really makes it feel harmless. There is little to no suspense, just a story being told.
I adore Finlay and her budding romance with Nick...but I see some major trouble for them if she keeps up the way she is. I know one thing for sure, I am dying to find out how it all plays out.
I alternated between the audio book and the ecopy of this one. The audiobook is so fun and brings the story to life!
