This series is just a fun hilarious ride so buckle up! I love the Riley Thorn series so much. There is so much witty banter between all the characters from start to finish.
Everyone I loved in the first book is present in this second book with the addition of Rileyโs grandma. Rileyโs family and Nickโs family are freaking hilarious, they are so different but just as crazy. The found family is this series is the best!
In this book we get a little more spice between Nick and Riley but the running joke is they keep getting interrupted by all of their crazy roommates or family.
I canโt wait to dive into the next book, ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ! This series is just like a warm hug. I highly recommend it to anyone that enjoys a little bit of chaos, banter, and a mystery with a psychic twist!

The Corpse in the Closet, by Lucy Score, is another fun-filled laugh-out-loud novel with witty banter, crazy escapades, and a little romance. Those elderly roommates from the first novel are still there to keep things stirred up! I was excited to get this one after reading the first. It was like catching up with your fun neighbors after being away for a while. Thanks, NetGalley and the publisher, for providing me with the ARC ebook I read and reviewed. All opinions are my own. Lucy Score is fast becoming a must-read author for me!
This book is truly just top tier-the banter, the humor, the romance-truly has it all. I loved the first book, so getting to come back into this world was an absolute treat. Riley and Nick are such a fun dynamic duo, and the way Lucy has woven in the mystery aspect keeps me wanting more. What an absolute gem to read!

At the heart of the tale is Riley Thorn, a protagonist whose unique blend of psychic abilities and endearing clumsiness makes her both relatable and utterly captivating. Score effortlessly weaves together Riley's reluctance to embrace her powers with her unwavering determination to solve the case at hand. As she grapples with her disapproving grandmother and a string of murders plaguing her town, Riley's resilience and wit shine through, making her a protagonist worth rooting for.
Alongside Riley is the enigmatic Nick Santiago, whose steadfast devotion to both Riley and his work as a PI adds depth and intrigue to the story. Their chemistry crackles with palpable tension, tempered by moments of genuine tenderness and vulnerability. Score masterfully explores the complexities of their relationship, infusing each interaction with warmth and authenticity.

While the novel deftly balances elements of romance and suspense, it primarily shines as a cozy mystery with a generous sprinkling of humor and heart. Score's sharp wit and clever storytelling imbue the narrative with a sense of levity, even in the face of danger. From glitter bombs to disastrous dinner parties, each twist and turn is delivered with a dose of playful absurdity that keeps readers thoroughly entertained.
In conclusion, "The Corpse in the Closet" is a delightful romp through a world filled with quirky characters, puzzling mysteries, and unexpected romance. Whether you're a fan of cozy mysteries or simply in need of a good laugh, this novel is sure to delight and entertain.
Who doesnโt love a good Lucy Score book and the Corpse in the Closet did not disappoint.
Nick and Riley are back. Remember Riley is a psychic and a good girl she really doesnโt care about being a psychic but her psychic grandmother arrives and is in full training mode for Riley. Nick is a private detective and kind of a bad boy but his and Rileyโs relationships works. Another death has occurred and then police, Detective Weber want her help again and Nick doesnโt like it as he doesnโt want her put in danger, he wants to protect her and keep her safe. The chemistry between these two fantastic and also hilarious, Will they be able to find the murderer and stay safe. A reader can enjoy this book even without reading the others, This was a great and entertaining read.
This book was so much fun! Laugh out loud funny, with characters that will melt your heart, and one in particular that in real life would make me have a perpetual blush. A light cozy mystery with Lucy a reluctant psychic working with her boyfriends ex partner trying to use her gifts to solve a murder which totally spins out of control when you add in more bodies, a house full of elderly roomates who don't know the meaning of private space, and an adorable dog who could take out a room with just one of his toots. If any of this sounds up your alley you should definitely check this series out.
I can't wait to dive into book 3!

This might be my new favorite series! It is the perfect lighthearted murder mystery with slapstick comedy, a kooky cast of characters and loveable and hilarious MCs.
I loved seeing Riley and Nickโs relationship progress. Nick experiencing (totally unwarranted) jealous has to be one of my favorite parts of the book. Poor guy was so confused! His take on consensual stalking had me cracking up as well.
Believe it or not his family might be just as weird in a completely different way than Rileyโs and I canโt wait to see them all interact more.
I am dying to start the next book. I thought I would go insane waiting for someone to finally get some answers about Beth.
Okay, this was a blast to read. The Corpse In the Closet was funny, smart and addictive. I flew through this book so fast. Riley is a psychic who gets pulled into a crazy murder investigation. Her boyfriend Nick does not want her to work on this murder case and he's busy with his own mystery. Things go horribly wrong in all aspects of their lives. They have to find a way to survive their family and relationship drama as well as surviving literally. This story was whacky, crazy and I loved it.
Lucy score is a great relaxing cozy romance and a dash of mystery who dunnit is just the cherry on top of everything... I really should pick up more of her books
I love Riley Thorn and Nick Santiago with their distinctive personalities as an investigative duo and a happy couple. The humor, especially the one-liners, adds so much entertainment value as does the wonderful cast of secondary characters including Riley's grandmother, Nick's parents, and of course Daisy the cow and Burt the dog. Perfect for fans of cozies and Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series.
Lucy Score is an all around amazing writer.
Hilarious, witty. Mystery AND romance? Absolutely
Score always manages to write characters with so much chemistry that has me giggling. If you love banter, this one may be for you.
I did struggle with how LONG it is. Wow I was not expecting that. I mean I came here from the Knockemout series which was also pretty long, but the length in The Corpse in the Closet resulted in some drag. The humour did make up for it.
Lucy Score is an auto-buy author for me, and I will highly recommend anything she writes. *swoons*
I love Lucy Score's books and her Riley Thorn series is so much fun. There are a lot of adventures and laughs along the way with the main character Riley and her boyfriend Nick as they work to solve a murder. Of course, they encounter many bumps as they investigate. It's a funny, and entertaining story.
The writing is great, and the humor is plentiful. The romance takes a bit of a backseat in this story especially compared to some of the author's other books. Overall, I enjoyed the book and recommend it.
Thank you to NetGally and Sourcebooks for the ARC!
It was fun to return to this crew and their shenanigans. I wonder if Riley's luck will ever turn around lol. I do love the bumbling though.
Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the opportunity to read this eARC.
This is now my second book from Lucy Score and I am absolutely obsessed with her writing!!! I love this series and I canโt wait to read the rest of them!
Thank you to NetGalley and Lucy Score for a free ebook in exchange for an honest review!
Rating: 3.75 / 5 Stars
This was such a fun read! I really enjoyed the mystery vibe through it all, and the comedic relief was great.
Lucy Score is an interesting writer for me.
The wittiness and writing prose is really fun to read. Lucy Scores books are very fun and easy to get engrossed in. Sometimes, I struggle with the characters. I know many people love them, but they don't fit my preference as well and can sometimes be difficult to root for. This book was a lot like that. That being said, everyone can appreciate the super fun read with clever writing and witty banter.
It wasn't for me but rated it higher because that is a personal preference, not a statement of quality.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!
The second book in the Riley series. Her grandmother wants to know why she doesn't take her psychic powers seriously. She also has to deal with her ex and his new gf. Her private investigator bf has to deal with romantic questions from his parents who REALLY wants to meet her. Add murder on top of that and it's a busy time for Riley.
Lots of fun moments. I really like Riley and Nick. Terrific characters and zany plot. Love this series and it just better with each book.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

Riley Thorne is a psychic with a handsome PI boyfriend. This is a cozy mystery with a bit of spice. Thereโs a serial killer and tons of love able side characters that kept my interest
New favorite series alert!
Once again, Lucy Score has written a joyful novel starring Riley Thorn. The reluctant psychic, with a knack for stumbling upon dead bodies and a hot PI boyfriend, is the star of the show, but all of the side characters are just as quirky and wonderful. From octogenarian badass Mrs. Penny to the gentle giant maybe-human Gabe (who just wants to eat ice cream) to the over-the-top psychic grandma Elanora, each character elevates the story and adds to the sheer ridiculousness.
There's a serial killer. There are glitter bombs. There are terrible human beings. There is, of course, a dog named Burt with horrific farts. And throughout it all, Riley and Nick develop their relationship and grow in their love for each other. They may never be able to have sex, but they love deeply and fiercely, which adds gravitas the story.
I will say that this story is NOT a romance; I would dub this a cozy mystery with romantic (and romantasy) elements. If you are expecting a typical Lucy Score romance, this isn't it. But that doesn't stop this from being pure fun.
Thank you NetGalley and publishers for a ecopy of Corpse in the Closet by Lucy Score.
Unfortunately I dnf at 65%. (My first ever DNF)I have similar thoughts on the characters in this book to the knockemout series, and that is that they are so very childish. And unlike knockemout, Corpse doesnโt have the broody appeal of Knox and Lucien to keep me going.
The Mmc was just plain irritating and boring. We get it, Riley has nice boobs and youโre always horny. I donโt need to read it every few paragraphs when theyโre together. And to top it off youโre trying to convince me heโs a successful PI but he gives off freshman who should be working at a Dairy Queen ๐ซฃ
This was just a big miss all around for me and has me wondering if I actually like Lucy Score or just the visuals from a couple of her characters.
