Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Corpse in the Closet is book 2 in a series by Lucy Score. Definitely read book 1 before jumping into this one (I did not and wish I had read in order). This was still an enjoyable, hilarious read regardless of knowing the background context. The background characters definitely steal the show in this one and I cannot wait to read more of this series.

Fans of Finlay Donovan and Four Aunties will enjoy this one if they like a little romance in their funny mysteries!

Highly recommended.

I love a Lucy Score romance but a Lucy Score mystery romance is *chefs kiss*. This book is so fun, I loved this continuation of the story with Riley and Nick and the introduction of Riley’s serious grandma to this quirky cast of characters definitely added a little pizazz. Can’t wait to read the next one!

Once again Lucy hits a home run. A fun over the top romp of a mystery. A neighborhood anyone would want to live in with the best neighbors.

Truthfully, this series can get a bit overwhelming. There are so many characters!! I think if I continue the series I’ll have to do better at keeping track. I find myself putting it down and waiting days to pick it back up because the chaos gets to be too much.

The story is fun and quirky, but for the length of it, I think all the characters throw me off.

Thanks so much NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for the eARC.

This is only my second book by this author but it was really spectacular! I’ve been a fantasy phase lately but I put them all down for this book!

Previously, I had only read Lucy Score's Knockemout series. When I first got this particular book, I was unaware it was a series, and decided to read the 1st book first, which I suggest for anyone wanting to read this one. There are definitely ties that you will not understand in The Corpse in the Closet if you don't read The Dead Guy Next Door. Anyways - this was a great read. I love the "rom-com" meets crime feel of this book, and while there's not a whole lot of spice, I felt like it was a good amount given what this book was about. I love the relationship between Riley & Nick, and I also really enjoy Lucy Score's writing style - it flows well and really keeps me hooked. Although I'm more of a "thriller" fan than this kind of crime novel, I really did enjoy this book, and will definitely read the others in the RIley Thorn series. Also Gabe has to be one of the best characters there is.

Thank you NetGalley for this arc!

We follow a psychic named Riley and her boyfriend, PI Nick trying to help a homicide detective figure out who murdered a well dressed corpse in the closet, on top of facing her grandmother who’s trying to make her take her powers seriously or deal with the consequences.

I’m giving this book a higher 3.5/4⭐️

It wasn’t the five star feeling for me but it still had me hooked. I love murder mysteries and romance on their own but combine them? absolutely. Our female MC is also psychic? The whole little “found family” vibe I got with all their roommates? The vibes were just immaculate and not to mention hilarious - I cannot say how many times I laughed out loud at penny or Fred. And Burt?? God I love that dog LOL

The mystery aspect wasn’t anything crazy for me but I will say - I was interested just to know what would happen next, it was such an easy read and just fulfilling all around.

I loved the romance in it as well, I’ve been rooting for Nick + Riley since book one and it just made me so giddy and happy, I’m glad everything worked out for them🫶🏼

The structure and the writing of this book was also done really well, I've always been a fan of lucy score books and this was just one of those that was so easy to read. I breezed through it without missing a single thing, the characters are so lovable and the plot is always interesting - keeping me on my toes

With all that said, I will definitely be reading the next book in the series because it seems I cannot get enough

Trying really hard to be a Lucy score fan this series almost has me as a fan I like the mystery of it but the spice is a little to much but I’ll definitely read the next book.

I read the 1st 3 books of this series out of order. I didn’t have any problems with following the story so they can be considered stand alone. I love to see what antics everyone gets up to, it’s similar to the Stephanie plum series but with psychics. Can’t wait for the next adventure. #TheCorpseintheCloset #NetGalley

This is the second installment of the Riley Thorn series and it was just as great as the first one. It was filled with LOL moments. It was highly entertaining and left me wanting (not in bad way). I am very excited for the next installment.

The Corpse in the Closet by Lucy Score is a romantic mystery/thriller book - the second book in the RIley Thorn series. A psychic meets a private investigator and that gives a new definition to the mystery genre. Murder mystery infused with humour and romance makes the book quite the interesting read. I had to buy the first book in the series to understand this one and I immediately bought the next book because I wanted more of Riley Thorn and her hot boyfriend. Thank you, Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for giving me the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

4.5/5 stars

The Corpse In The Closet is the second book in the Riley Thorn series. This is a cozy mystery series with romance.

Each book features it's own mystery. So this could be read as a standalone. However you get so much backstory from the first book. So I would definitely read them in order.

Riley comes from a family of psychics (which I adore). I really liked how she is now using her psychic abilities to help solve cases. I absolutely love characters who have visions, can talk to dead people, or who can read minds.

The romance in this book is so fun. I really like Nick and his job as a PI really works well for the series. We also got to see a lot more of Riley's grandmother, who is

Each book starts in a precarious situation (for the first chapter). And then the author goes back a week or two to show us how the characters ended up there. This isn't my favorite. But it is always interesting to see how things play out to get to that point.

The cases in this edition were really enjoyable. And I really enjoy this crazy cast of characters.

Overall this is such a fun series. And wow that ending was amazing! I cannot wait to read the next book.

The Corpse in the Closet by Lucy Score;

Meet Psychic Riley Thorn and her private investigator boyfriend, Nick Santiago. This is the second installment to the Riley Thorn series. Though I skipped the first book, it was pretty easy to catch up with all the characters, which are a lot! The characters are lovable, laughable, likable and some even hatable. I enjoyed the witty banter and story line was okay. I’ve read a lot of Lucy Scores books and was hoping to see some of that spice in this story but I was super disappointed. Despite that, it was a cute funny read.

I swear I don’t think her books can get funnier! I ate this one up! Can’t wait to dive into the next one!

Gosh I loved this book! This series is just amazing, it has goofy characters, funny scenes, mystery, a little bit of paranormal as our FMC has psychic powers.

Nick really was such a fool in love in this book and I was obsessed with it! He was extra protective of Riley and it was adorable. Their relationship is honestly goals.

A lot of characters grew in this book. They were able to work through their flaws, as they thought.

I’m so obsessed with the series I have already started on the third book because I just want to keep living in this world with these characters

First thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of The Corpse In the Closet! (If any of you know me, you know I love Lucy Score!)

Riley Thorn is back at it again, just on the heels of catching her neighbors murderer, she is asked to consult with her psychic abilities on a case for the local police department as well as deal with psychic bootcamp courtesy of her grandma. But in the wake of how her last case ended, PI Nick Santiago is not ready to let Riley out of his sight. However, he has his own missing persons case to deal with not to mention dealing with his growing feelings for Riley. Can these two solve their cases before everything gets blown to pieces?

This book was so fun and chaotic, I loved it. This book was definitely my favorite between the two books I have read in this series so far. The humor that Lucy weaves into her stories is addicting. Her characters are well rounded and quirky in the best way. I think it’s safe to say my favorite characters are the cast of elderly folks within the home, and Gabe.

While this book was long, it definitely was a fast paced read especially towards the end when I could not put it down and found myself trying to read just a little bit longer before I had to go to work. There were a handful of times I wanted to shake the characters and ask them what their deal was, especially with how obtuse Nick could be when it came to Riley. I mean putting a tracker on her phone and car was a bit much! However, Nick’s logic to just let Riley track him was hilarious and pretty on par for a character that has never been in a serious relationship like ever.

Overall, this book was fun and a great read. It is safe to say I am now fully immersed into the Riley Thorn universe.
