This book was amazing. I first read Sharks! Sharks! Sharks! and loved it so I decided to read this as well. I can't wait for it to be published!!
This is a very cute book about everything dinosaur. Dinosaurs are very popular with kids. This book is aiming at younger kids (ages 6 and up) and is full of fun facts about dinosaurs and lots of cute, engaging pictures. I especially loved the dinosaur vocabulary at the end.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
My son (5) and I read this together and he absolutely loved it. The colors, the facts, everything was so perfectly geared towards his interests and he was so engaged and asking so many questions. Highly recommend!
Just like the sharks book by the same author, amazing book! would love to read more of these types of books from the author. The illustrations and information were so engaging and great. My son sat engaged to the entire book!📕
Jumping into a very crowded market comes this dinosaur book, which successfully shows us both some of the basic biology of the things and some of the more notable examples of them. We get the difference between the herbivorous ones and the carnivores, their eggs and suchlike, and the equivalent beasties in the skies and the seas, before wrapping things up with their extinction and what we see (and how) when we go fossil hunting. There are even younger-pitched dino-books out there, so this is not a "my first…" book, but will certainly only be of use to primary school ages, principally the infants. I dare say many such school libraries will have a relevant book on the subject already, then, but when that needs replacing I found no reason to dismiss this heavily pictorial, light-on-text science book. A strong four stars.
5/5 Stars! Thank you, NetGalley, Fox Chapel Publishing, and Happy Fox Books for this eARC of Dinosaurs! Dinosaurs! Dinosaurs! by Susan Martineau.
VERY colorful! My youngest loves dinosaurs so I wanted to see if this would pique his interest. It is so full of different facts about dinosaurs and he just loved how bright it is. Although he's not interested in the facts yet, I was reading them all haha. Love this book and will be checking out the other book called Sharks! Sharks! Sharks!
My young son is absolutely obsessed with dinosaurs! He adored this book. It is packed full of so many different facts about dinosaurs. The illustrations are fun and colorful. He especially e joyed the under the sea pages. I highly recommend this book for any dinosaur loving kiddo in your life!
My students liked the book because it was about a high-interest topic: dinosaurs! They liked reading about triceratops and learning how large they were. The comparison to real life objects, animals, and people was very helpful in visualizing how large some of them were. Students thought the "jump scares" were scary, like the T-rex at the end. They were scared but it also was fun. I even learned some new facts! Who knew that dinosaurs were still living? Not me! We are currently hatching chickens in our classroom, and it was so fun to learn that we are actually hatching dinosaurs! Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Full of beautiful illustrations and engaging dinosaur facts, your little dinosaur lovers are going to really enjoy this one! Highly recommend! Thank you for the ARC!
It is an educative and delightful little book. It introduces kids to the world of history and evolution. It teaches kids all they need to know about dinosaurs. It encourages them to embrace the science and history of these gorgeous creatures that once roamed the earth.
Thank you net galley for this book. This books ok is geared towards younger children. The pictures were very descriptive. I actually learned some things about dinosaurs.I like how it started from the beginning and explained their life and how many different types of dinosaurs were around .I loved have the glossary at the back . A good educational book.
Love, love, love this book! This has incredible illustrations and accessible but very informative text that readers will learn a lot from. This would be the perfect gift for any dinosaur lover, especially with a dinosaur toy or tickets to a museum to see dinosaurs. It would also be a great addition to any public or elementary library to elementary classroom especially for a unit on dinosaurs. Highly recommend!
This book had my boys enthralled. So many different dinosaurs that they had never heard about before. And such amazing facts as well. Colorful illustrations and small groups of texts held their attention. We had just read sharks! Sharks! Sharks! and decided this would be our next read. We were not disappointed at all!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Nice Dinosaur book and lovely illustrations but I can't help but feel this book will be lost in a sea of other nice dinosaur books.
I am always looking for dinosaur books that my students and son can read independently. That K-2 zone of dinosaur book is hard to find. This one checks that box. The illustrations are appealing without being overwhelming. It's easily read on a phone or tablet. The text provides meaningful information put is in accessible chunks for kids to tackle alone, or for someone to read the book aloud without feeling like they're giving a Ted Talk at bedtime.
I feel like this is one that would be constantly be in book boxes or student hands, even if the information isn't new.
This might just be my new favorite book about dinosaurs. The facts were informative, the pacing was exciting, and the illustrations were stunning. I can’t wait to own a physical copy of this book when it comes out.
Review to come April 4th on my blog/other places.
I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.
I was planning on making this a dual book review, but in the end I decided to split them up. In this review I will be reviewing the Dinosaur book in this series.
I just LOVE dinosaur books, though I am a bit hesitant these days. I mean, flying or swimming creatures are not dinosaurs anymore *sad*. There is feathers everywhere. I am sorry, I grew up on fantastic tales of reptile dinosaurs. I still have books with that. Plus, I am sorry, my baby velociraptor, I just cannot get over the fact it is now a chicken. A deadly chicken, but I can still not take it seriously. But I still wanted to give this one a shot. And while there was plenty of sadness for me, I still enjoyed this book greatly! I learned some new flying creatures, like Pterodaustro or Dsungaripterus. And while I knew about Archeron (the turtle) I wonder if my hubby knows. He is a big big fan of turtles and I am sure he would have loved a GIANT turtle.
We learn about all sorts of dinosaurs from big bad hungry boys (giganotosaurus for example who is one of my favourites) and big not so bad hungry boys (well at least not for meat, hello to Patagotitan). We learn about how dinosaurs get kids and how they handle the kids and how babies grew up in this dangerous world. We learn about the various time periods. There is also a bit on how fossils are created and what dino hunters do. And of course, there is a chapter on the unfortunate end for the dinosaurs. Poor babies. While I didn't learn a lot of new details, I still had oodles of fun reading this one and I think it will be perfect for kids just learning about dinosaurs. Especially since the book is full of colourful illustrations. At least for me it makes learning facts even more fun, and I know kid me loved that as well.
The art was a lot of fun and I love the style. Though I have to say the little beady eyes of the dinosaurs made me laugh at times. At times you would have a terrifying dinosaur but the tiny pinprick/beady eye just made it comical.
I love the end papers + the dinosaur you see at the beginning and the end of the book. That was a fun surprise!
All in all, I would recommend this very fun book to all~
A lovely and informative book. Both me and my 8 year old read the book, and enjoyed the information and pictures. A little awkward on terms of formatting, but I'm sure that's an eReader issue and will be corrected. The pictures were clear and well done, and lots of new and clear information.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC.
Just read this to my 2.5 year old twins and we will be buying a copy when Dinosaurs! Dinosaurs! Dinosaurs! is released this April.
The illustrations are lovely and the information is presented in a clear and concise fashion. I wish a pronunciation guide had been included, but other than that, Dinosaurs! Dinosaurs! Dinosaurs! is an engaging, beautifully illustrated read.
Thank you to Happy Fox Books and NetGalley for the review copy!
What a fun and educational book! I read this and then showed my son and he loved the pictures and the facts about dinosaurs. It’s such a fascinating topic and a great means of teaching children about dinosaurs.
