The story flowed well and the characters were well developed. I recommend this book and look forward to more from this author.

Audrey is always looking for red flags.
Sully is looking for something real.
Audrey uses Sully's place of business as a break up zone. After one breakup takes a turn, Sully steps in.
I originally read this story as an e-book and I feel the audiobook really enhanced the book. The narrators fit really well with the story.
I would recommend to anyone who likes
accidental pregnancies, billionaire romances and second chances.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC.
I enjoyed this romance. It was so good. The characters are great and the side characters are so funny. I enjoyed this live story!
I was looking for a second chance romance and this one delivered on the second chance romance front and I loved it! Audrey had commitment and trust issues and her friends teased her about her quick relationship “expiration dates.” Sully witnessed Audrey’s repeated break up tactics in action and calls her out on her issues. However, once they get acquainted 😏 Audrey feels a change coming that is until a miscommunication happens. It’s a whooopsie!
I loved Sully! He is what I’m sure many would call a book boyfriend! I loved how he could look past Audrey’s flaws and the drama and gave her a chance. But, don’t get it twisted, he’s not a push over. I think he was just what Audrey needed! I loved the drama with their crazy relationship and Sully’s family. Because of who they were and what they had, they pegged Audrey as a gold digger. But, she ain’t a push over either.
This audiobook was fun to listen to! It had its laugh out loud moments. I loved the friendships they had and Sully’s twin was hilarious! I cannot forget to add, the spicy scenes. Yup, they were hot? This one oozed Black Romance and I loved that! This was a new-to-me author and I will for sure read another book by Kimberly Brown! These were also new-to-me audiobook narrators and I loved them too! They did an amazing job with the characters!
I ate this one up! Sully and Audrey's chemistry was off the chain. Their relationship might have been non-conventional, and they might have done things a little backward, mainly due to Audrey's trust issues, but they got it together in the end.
One thing I really appreciated about the story was the strong friendship and family bonds that both MMCs had. They were surrounded by a lot of love and support and it was so good to see.
I also liked that Sully had strong boundaries and was not afraid to enforce them, but he was also open and communicative, and this was refreshing to read.
Highly recommend this one if you are a lover of black romance.
This book was all the pettiness of standing in your own way mixed with sister friends and generational wealth and family! I don't know what I was expecting going into this book, but this book had me cackling, yelling, and swooning. Audrey was not a likable character for about 60% of this book, but I loved watching her grow into a likable character as we all got to see her come into her own vulnerability. The book reads a bit predictable but is such a beautiful read of black love in all its forms.
Thank you, NetGalley, for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!
This audiobook was a delight – sweet, swoony, and downright sexy! I couldn't get enough of it. The narration by Jaime Lincoln Smith and J. Shani Michael added charm to the already captivating story.
Audrey Pilar, the master of breaking up, introduces us to her unique ritual, "The Expiration Date." Her past hurts have led her to adopt a self-protective strategy, scrutinizing relationships for red flags. Enter Sullivan Santiago, the confident owner of Sullivan's Coffee Tavern, who challenges Audrey's carefully crafted approach to love.
Sully's honest and straightforward nature intrigues Audrey, leading to a date that changes everything. As the story unfolds, secrets and surprises keep the listener hooked, making it hard to resist the charm of this unique romance.
Overall, "The Expiration Date" is a delightful blend of romance, humour, and unexpected twists. They are highly recommended for those who enjoy a bit of sweetness with their swoon-worthy stories.
Quick Summary: A hot and bothered, serious heat romance
My Review: The Expiration Date by Kimberly Brown was a hot sauce with sriracha and ghost peppers gen-fic novel. It was blindingly spicy, entirely sweet and incredibly funny.
About the Book: After having her heart broken, Audrey Pilar became somewhat of a serial dater. She knew, without question, what she wanted and what she didn't. Although she was apprehensive about tying herself down with just anyone due to her trust issues, she did let her guard down with Sullivan (Sully) Santiago. When an error in judgement caused a disconnect between them, an oops situation created a means for reconnection.
About the Narration: The narration was 1000% on point. It came across in an authentic way. It was like hearing sister-girls rag on each other with a full on love fest. It could not have been communicated any better. In terms of the male vocals, I'll just give a happy sigh.
My Final Say: This story was so entertaining. I cannot tell you how much I laughed my head off. Those girlfriends and Sully's brother were worth their weight in gold. I loved this book! It gave off real "my baby's daddy" energy...in a good way. It dealt with the messiness of family and the feel good support of loving family and friends in a highly relatable way.
Other: The Expiration Date gets a thumbs up and a recommendation. With that said, it should be noted that it's a grown folks business read. It actually put me in the mindset of Kennedy Ryan's straightforward style. All I know is that readers/listeners will have a good time getting to know the characters.

- Audiobook and EBook Review -
Kimberly Brown is my NEW favorite romance author. This is my second book by her, and I swear she always gives me a feel good with a good laugh. If I'm having a bad day, all I have to do is read her books.
The narrators did an amazing job bringing this story to life! I giggled and screamed at this book. My favorite quote from the story has to be this, “You three stooges better leave me alone before I snatch those wigs and run off, leaving you looking like Caillou, Little Bill, and Charlie Brown.”
There’s plenty to like about The Expiration Date - loving family relationships, tight girlfriends, empowered women, a decent man and good writing.
For the plot and writing alone, this is a definite recommendation for a quick romance.
However, for me, it is too crass in the language and explicit sex scenes. If that’s not a deal breaker, you will enjoy Ms. Brown’s book. 3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
I loved this audiobook!! It’s black love packaged into an audiobook. The narrators did a great job. The story was so funny!!!! I laughed out loud so much. The drama delivered and it just felt like I was around some friends and family that I go way back with. It felt like home.
I was happy to see the character growth in Audrey over time and definitely loved the fact that even though she self-sabotaged her own relationships, her friends and family checked her on the things she was doing wrong. I hope we get a book two because I need more Emmanuel. He was hilarious!
