Even though this wasn’t my favorite Hilderbrand book, I couldn’t stop reading it. I always get sucked into Nantucket and the people.
I could have left Leslee behind because she drove me nuts. She was a villain that we love to hate. There was a few other obnoxious things about Swan Song but I’m going to let you figure out what.
Still gave it four stars because I couldn’t help myself.

This wasn’t my favorite Hilderbrand book. The characters and plot fell flat for me. I just never really got into it like I have with her other books

A great book for Elin to end on. Full of details and a missing person, I was thoroughly entertained throughout the book.

Such a satisfying ending to the Nantucket books. There is absolutely nothing like being transported to Nantucket through Elin Hilderbrand's books. This one does not disappoint. The food, the clothes, the over the top parties. All that, plus a fun mystery to solve. Makes me want to have a French 75 and watch a sunset.

I've read several of Elin Hilderbrand's novels and this, her last Nantucket one, is a satisfying conclusion. I liked the story and character development, even if there were a lot if characters to keep track of. She had romance and mystery. A little bit of something for everyone. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was the last one of the series. Unfortunately, it just fell short for me. There were so many characters and so much going on and it was all surface. the mystery went on and on then was solved in a page. The mystery wasn't even really a mystery or shocking. Now the ending was good but there were just too many back stories that didn't seem to matter. I love Hilderbrand books. This just felt like she had to write a book so she did.

Great final book! Although I appreciate her acknowledgements saying she may or may not write again. I do think she did a lot of name dropping from the previous books in the "series" and so there were a lot of characters I could not place but that did not diminish the story.

I have an admitted bias towards Elin Hilderbrand and her books are a must on my summer TBR list. As expected, I enjoyed her latest - and last - Nantucket book. It had everything I have come to anticipate: descriptions of beautiful scenery, delicious food, and complicated and interwoven relationships. I loved Blond Sharon getting a major plot line after playing a supporting character in so many previous books and, while a lot of people didn't care for Coco, I didn't mind her at all for going after what she wanted. The ending for mostly everyone was wrapped up a little too neatly and, while I am normally a fan of ambiguous endings, I am on the fence about the Chief's storyline (although I absolutely loved the last sentence).
The title was perfect, not only as the author's swan song to her readers, but as a swan song to the residents of Nantucket (and the island itself) we have grown to love.

The much anticipated 30th novel from Elin HIlderbrand is here! Swan Song is her last novel set in Nantucket and Hilderbrand is ready to leave her readers with one last wonderful story. Filled with tons of true Nantucket locations, and just about every character who has previously graced Hilderbrand's novels, Swan Song, is a slow burning mystery and perfectly on point. It has just the right amount of scandal and drama, which allows the reader to be pulled into the plot.

I love these books, and this one did not disappoint. It was exciting, the characters were fascinating and I was never too sure what turn it was going to take. I was a little let down by the ending, I had kind of predicted it might end how it did, which was disappointing. Other than that, I loved hearing about the extreme wealth of Bull and Leslee. I loved Coco and her grit and grind. The relationships and friendships were fun to read about, and I always love reading about Nantuck. I have a soft spot for the Chief, so it was nice to get reacquainted with him. Thank you to Little, Brown and Company and NetGalley for this ARC!

A summer on Nantucket involving the residents of the island and a new mysterious couple who moved in and started throwing over the top parties. When the couple's personal assistant goes missing, it becomes clear there's something more going on with the couple. Overall, not the best entry in the Nantucket series but fans of Hilderbrand will find it a light summer read. Most of the residents seemed concerned about social status and that got a bit tiring after a while.

"Swan Song" by Elin Hilderbrand was, unfortunately, a bit of a letdown. Despite its intriguing premise and Hilderbrand's reputation for crafting engaging beach reads, this book fell short for me.
One of the main issues was the characters. I found it difficult to connect with most of them. Their motivations often felt shallow or unclear, making it hard to care about their journeys. Instead of rooting for their success or feeling their struggles, I remained largely indifferent to their fates.
The plot itself was serviceable, but it didn't stand out in any significant way. There were moments that held promise, but they were few and far between. The pacing was uneven, with some parts dragging on while others felt rushed.
While Hilderbrand's writing style is generally enjoyable, it wasn't enough to save "Swan Song" from being a rather "meh" read. It lacked the emotional depth and character development needed to make it a memorable story.
Overall, "Swan Song" might still appeal to die-hard fans of Elin Hilderbrand, but for me, it was a miss. If you're new to her work, I would recommend starting with one of her other novels instead.

Compelling characters, great beach-read plot, enough twists to keep me interested. I especially liked the shifts from present to past. As always, the peek into the lives of the 1% is intriguing and I didn't want it to end.

3.5/5
The ending fell quite flat for me which is why I didn’t give this 4 stars. Other than that, a highly enjoyable read; Elin Hilderbrand is the queen of summer!

Might be one of Elin Hilderbrand’s best ever. The perfect summer read. Get lost in Nantucket this summer!

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy of Swan Song by Elin Hilderbrand in exchange for an honest review. Note: I started this book before it was published, but now it's out!
The aptly titled Swan Song is the final novel in Hilderbrand's Nantucket series, and it doesn't disappoint. Several characters from past novels - as well as the "cobblestone telegraph" Greek chorus - make appearances in this charming tale set during the final summer of Police Chief Ed Kapenash's career. The Chief is at an intimate retirement dinner with his family and close friends when a call comes in about a fire at a multi-million dollar home belonging to the Richardsons, a new and controversial couple spending their first summer on Nantucket. In a split timeline that begins with the Richardsons' hiring of would-be screenwriter Coco as their personal concierge after meeting her in the Virgin Islands, the action moves forward to the night of the fire, interspersed with scenes of that night itself. With entertaining descriptions of the characters, their relationships, the fabulous restaurants where they eat, the exclusive country club and the lavish parties, Swan Song is an entertaining love letter to Nantucket and a fine conclusion to the series. Four stars.

Elin Hilderbrand has always been a go to for me, and I have loved the Nantucket settings, the characters and the stories. However, this last book after her announced retirement was a bit disappointing. I did not like the Richardson couple, a pair of grifters and crooks. I felt more empathy for Coco but the positive ending for her story was a bit far fetched. I loved the characters from her earlier books, the usual Nantucket gossip and drama, which I wish was more prominent in the book. All in all, it was just okay for me but I would not have missed reading this final Nantucket episode. Many thanks to the author for years of enjoyment of her novels. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Sad to see this is the authors last book. Looked forward to her summer beach reads. Another best seller for sure. Coco is a summer concierge who wants to sell her screen play. The Richardsons are the new big thing in town. What are they up too. Book has the standard love stories and a mystery. Beginning was slow but picked up in the middle overall. Good summer read

I love all of Elin's books and this one lived up to my high expectations. It was the perfect send off to Nantuket!

It's a pleasure travelling to Nantucket every year if only through an Elin Hilderbrand book. Although this is supposed to be her last book in this setting, it certainly doesn't feel like an ending. The book is full of all we've come to expect, beach life, glittering parties, drama between the residents and fun. Summers won't be the same without her.
