Harlan Coban has never written a bad book. They just keep getting better and better. Interesting and followable plot line, great characters, just enough detail description and a satisfying ending. I read this in 2 sittings. Eyes get tired. Any fan of fun intriguing situations will not want to miss this book. Can't wait for the next one.

I think I read most of the Myron Bolitar and Winn series but it has been a long time since we meet up with them again . So two FBI agents come and they are thinking this is about the Callister murders WRONG!! It appears that this Greg Downing a former client who died 3 years ago, the FBI agents say he is alive via DNA etc. It was great seeing Big Cyndi Myron’s secretary. So off they go to Las Vegas in Winn’s private jet to meet the month of a dead son who is really dead. In any event Myron almost gets his big toe cut off but Winn to the rescue. Off they go to find more men who might lead them to the right person. And get answers. This storyline was awesome as most of his books are. Should be a Netflix series. No spoilers here. If you are a fan of Harlan Coben and Myron and Will you will love all their banter with all the games they play. I received this book from net galley and the publisher for this ARC. Thanks again net galley. Awesome read!!

Dollycas's Thoughts

Famed basketball coach Greg Downing died three years ago. His sports agent Myron Bolitar gave his eulogy. Years earlier they were rivals on the basketball court, Greg also stole Myron's first love. Surprisingly they later became business associates. Myron has gotten on with his life and is in a good place. So why are there now two FBI agents in his office insisting Myron tell them where Greg Downing is?

The agents claim Greg is still alive and is their main suspect in a double homicide. Myron can't believe it. Could it be true? He decides to team up with his friend Win and do some investigating of their own. Soon they are following leads across the country but each step puts their lives in more danger. Are they chasing a serial killer? Could they be the next targets?

_____

I have been a fan of this series from the start so I was thrilled to see all the players back together. Myron and Win are joined by Esperanza, Big Cindy, Therese, Ellen, and Myron's parents. Hester Crimstein even makes a cameo appearance. With Greg Downing as the subject of the story, it brings his wife Emily and her son Jeremy into the story. Mr. Coben's characters have so much depth that are memorable no matter how long we must wait for each new book in the series. The interactions between Myron and Win are epic. Win with his sharp retorts always brings a little humor especially in the most stressful predicaments.

In Think Twice Mr. Coben sends his characters on another wild adventure and I was thrilled to go along for the ride. I enjoy that the characters have aged a bit just like the rest of us. It changes the way they attack or react to certain situations but they are resourceful, still have the drive, and sometimes forget they aren't as young as they used to be.

The story is action-packed and unfolds at breakneck speed just as I expected. The further I got into the story the speed of the pages turning increased and I was totally unable to put the book down.  With twist after twist the tension continued to rise. I was on the edge of my seat more than once. Like everything Mr. Coben writes his words create vivid pictures in my mind, so the last several chapters had me reeling.

Think Twice is a riveting, suspenseful, compelling thriller that is responsible for my latest book hangover. I stayed up late and read the whole thing in one sitting and then I couldn't get it out of my head when I tried to go to sleep.  Strong characters and a fabulous plot that was fantastically executed make this book worthy of more than 5 stars. It like other books by this author receives my Paradise Rating and it will be on my Best Reads List for 2024.

While this book can be read as a stand-alone, I recommend reading other books in the series first for maximum enjoyment.

Thank you to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me to read an Advance Reader Copy. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Harlan is really good at writing low stakes thrillers that you can just follow along with the plot without too many huge twists or surprises. I love Win & Myron they are fun

4 stars!

This is my first time reading something in the Myron Bolitar universe, but I enjoyed it so much that I will definitely be going back and reading more of the series! I felt like the mystery in this book was really interesting, and although this book was almost 400 pages I was ripping through it. Also, despite how many mystery/thrillers I've read, I did not guess the ending, which is a testament to how Harlan Coben crafts a story.

I think what was best about this novel were the characters. Win and Myron felt like real people and, probably because this is the twelfth book in the series, their relationship felt very grounded. It was fun to hear about how they met at Duke and how Myron was a basketball player on the team, and it overall added to the book that you knew a lot of these characters had known each other since college. Also, what I liked about this novel is the many discussions of whether or not what the characters were doing was right or wrong, and if it was acceptable to commit wrong acts for the good of more people.

Overall, my first time reading by Harlan Coben, but definitely not my last! I already have the first book in this series downloaded on my kindle.

Myron is back in Think Twice by Harlan Coben.

"The FBI tells Myron that his old rival, Greg Downing, is still alive. Myron knows that can't be true because he did the eulogy at Greg's funeral. So how did his DNA end up at a crime scene? The more Myron and Win discover about Greg, the more dangerous their world becomes."

I could not put this book down. Longtime Bolster fans have always known the backstory between Myron and Greg, but this time Coben pulls the mask all the way back on Greg - and OMG!
Coben shows Myron and Win aging and changing their priorities. I really like it when an author lets his characters grow old and change.
Lots of twists and turns in this one. Another great thriller from Coben.

I was really fascinated by the plot of the story. A friend who you believe is dead all of a sudden is a suspect in a murder!? When DNA puts his friend at the murder scene, Myron instantly starts investigating. Is his friend really alive? Is he really a murderer? Is he being framed? Parts of the story did seem dragged out and lost my attention a little bit but the end grabbed my attention right back. I would recommend this book, but I would suggest reading the rest of the series first to get to know the characters better.

I'm a long-time Coben reader and have read all 11 other books in this series. So of course I felt nostalgic while reading this one! Win and Myron are getting old which means so am I! This book just kind of made me laugh in a way. Win and Myron's shenanigans are so unrealistic and I think if I didn't "grow up" reading this series, I'm not sure I would have enjoyed it. But it's like I become a different reader when I read anything Harlan Coben and I find myself excusing some things that would make me roll my eyes with other authors or characters (the humor, references to today's culture, etc).

As for the storyline, whoa. Was not expecting one! I really wasn't sure what the outcome was going to be until it was revealed. I loved the tie in from all the past characters and the smalls nods back to his previous works. Like I said, It just feels nostalgic and familiar in a way that is comforting. I think the backstory was explained well-enough to make this a standalone, but that also led to some repetition. You might find that annoying if you already remember the backstories, but it was helpful to me having spent a long time away from the Myron universe.

Thank you NetGalley and .Grand Central Publishing for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love most of coban’s stuff but this was so underwhelming for me. I understand I might miss some stuff because I haven’t read the others in the series but I didn’t find the mystery compelling at all and even in the gotcha moment I didn’t see it coming but not in an exciting way

Think Twice by Harlan Coben is a fast paced thriller

When the FBI shows up to see Win and Myron Bolitar, they are stumped when they ask about a client named Greg Downing. Gregs DNA has connected him to a murder, but that would be impossible because he died three years ago. As they begin their own investigation into Greg Downing, Myron and Win discover secrets that were well hidden, landing themselves in the crosshairs of a Mob Boss and his henchmen. I loved the characters, especially Win, Myron, and Esperanza. As they slowly unravel this mystery, they find more twists and turns, making this murderous mystery a fun rollercoaster style thrill ride from beginning to end.

What will they uncover? And how is the other murders connected? And most of all, how is the DNA of a deadman at a murder scene three years after his death?

This was my first read for this series, and this author, and although I was able to follow the storyline, I will definitely read the previous books. I definitely recommend this read as it’s an engaging fast paced story.

I just love Myron and Win. Harlan Coben is one of my favorite authors and it's been too long since I've read him. This story was a delight and I devoured it.
DNA from one of Myron's ex-clients is found on a woman who was murdered; the only issue is that this client has been dead for the past 3 years. Myron teams up with all the gang to chase down clues and solve the mystery.
There are many different characters so it was difficult to keep everyone straight but I really enjoyed this book. And that ending....oh boy.

Mr Coben brings back Myron and Win for another mystery/thriller featuring a serial killer that not only murders their victim, but frames and provides a suspect. Lots of twists and turns with an ending you don't see coming.

I could not wait to read Coben’s new book and I could not put it down! Thank you Harlan Coben for FINALLY bringing Myron, Win, Big Cyndi & Esperanza back together! This book was quite tense near the end, but I’m hoping we’ll see these favorite characters again soon. Thanks for the advanced read!!

Fantastic! I love Myron Bolitar.

A woman is murdered and all evidence leads to an old rival of Myron’s who has been dead for 2 years. Of course Myron has to figure this puzzle out. But who will be hurt in the processes? It’s twisty and turny making you think it’s this person or that one and in the end it’s shocking because it may be someone else entirely. Or not.

Bit of a slow burn but totally worth it. Adrenaline inducing ending that had me on the edge of my seat. It’s going to be very interesting to see what happens next. And I am here for it. So good.

Absolutely fantastic. This is probably the best book I have read all year. The twists and turns, and the revelations and then even more twists! Highly recommended for all fans of Mr Coben. He hits it out of the park with this one. Wow.

Myron gave the eulogy at his client’s funeral several years ago so why are there two FBI agents in his office asking where he is. Greg was once Myron’s main competition through high school, college, and into the pros. But Greg is also the guy responsible for Myron’s career ending knee injury. According to the two agents he is still alive because they found evidence of him at a double homicide. The race is on who will find him first Myron or the FBI.
This was a great read, I liked it a lot, however I have been hooked on Myron since he first came out. Wyn intrigues me so I guess maybe that is what keeps me coming back. There is so much action and suspense I think one of these days I will just fall out of my seat. The storyline is awesome and the characters developed well throughout the book, I can’t say much more as I don’t do spoilers. It really is a wonderful book.

I definitely didn’t guess the serial killer. I liked how the murders always had 2 victims, the second being the person they framed for the murder. Was a pretty quick read. I didn’t like that it wasn’t very detailed on how the victims were chosen.

I have to confess, while I have watched every series based on Harlan Coban’s books, this was the first book I’ve read. Won’t be the last! Love his writing style. Think Twice sees Myron Bolitar thrust into the search for a serial killer who specializes in framing innocent people. Such a fascinating premise and lots of twists and turns. Thanks to NetGalley and Grand Central for the opportunity to read this ARC!

Man I have missed Myron! Especially the banter and witty remarks between him and Win. But it feels like we both aged since last time! This book has everything I am looking for. It has mystery, suspense, comedy and drama. It's action-packed with an edge-of-the seat ending. One of my favorites in this series. I highly recommend this book.

Thank you to NetGalley, Grand Central Publishing and Harlan Coben for an ARC of 'Think Twice'.
