Myron Bolitar has restarted his agency for sports stars and celebrities, teaming up with his attorney friend Windsor Horne Lockwood III (Win). Federal agents arrive, telling Myron that his former client Greg Downing’s DNA has been found at the scene of a murder. But there’s just one problem, Greg died three years ago. Or is he still alive? Myron and Win start investigating and find that there are similar puzzling cases in other areas. Could there be a serial killer out there and if so, is Myron in danger?
I am a Harlan Coben fan and was excited to get this book! However, I have to admit I did not read any of the Myron Bolitar series before this one. That said, this book did read great as a standalone. Coben provides all the background needed to understand the story. I really enjoyed the dynamics between Myron and Win as they solved the case. I did not see the twist coming at all! I enjoyed this book so much that I am off to read the others in the Myron Bolitar series. I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys thrillers! I give it 4/5 stars.
Finding out that a client they thought was dead is not, sends Myron and Win on a quest into the past. The client, thought to be a murder suspect even after his own death is front and center in this latest installment of the Myron Bolitar series. Also front and center is the illegitimate son that Myron has who was raised by another man, he also is part of the plot, his involvement in the story mysterious until it all comes together at the end. I enjoyed this book as I do all Harlan Coben's books but found it harder to keep up with the people and events. Myron and Win didn't seem as real or as interesting to me as they had in the past, and the author has appropriately aged them in this book, making them less super heroes than in the past. Still, it is an enjoyable read and Win in particular is one of my favorites in the fictional character world. Thanks to #NetGalley#ThinkTwice#Harlan Coben for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I love a good suspense novel and this one did not disappoint! It kept you guessing right from the beginning.
Myron Bolitar and Win Lockwood are back in the book Think Twice by Harlan Coben - who happens to be one of my favorite authors ever.
The book begins with not only a murder but also with the murderer taking careful steps to set someone else up for the fall. Who is doing the killing? We don’t find that out until the end (and it is a surprise!).
What we do know is that Myron gets involved because his client, Greg, is being framed. But the thing is - his client is dead. Myron, himself, delivered the eulogy 2 years ago - long before the crime occurred.
As the story progresses, more bodies start to pile up, and we learn that Myron and Greg have a more involved past than just an attorney/client relationship.
There are so many twists, turns and more things that you just don’t see coming. Yet, despite the involved story line, Harlan Coben does a great job of tying up all the loose ends at the end - so you are not left hanging.
What I really like about Think Twice is that we learn a lot more about Myron Bolitar’s personal life. If you have been reading the Myron Bolitar series over the years, you will also realize that these old friends of ours - Myron and Win - are themselves getting older.
Think Twice will keep you turning the pages deep into the night not only to find out whodunit but also for the nostalgia and connection that you will make with the main characters.
Thank you to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for providing me an advance copy of Think Twice to preview.
The whole gang is back to figure out why the FBI has linked one of Myron’s clients, who died three years ago, to a recent murder case. Myron and Win stir up the past as well as concerns that a serial killer is at work.
Delving into Myron and Win’s world is always a pleasure especially when superb secondary characters such as Hester Crimstine, Big Cyndi, Esperanza, and Myron’s parents are part of the mix. The reader is privy to the inner workings of Myron’s relationship with his wife Terese.
This case involves Greg Downing, who has a complex personal history with Myron, which adds to the tension and increases the stakes. In this installment, Myron is focused on aging, seeing his parents’ health issues and changes in himself and best friend Win. Nevertheless there’s plenty of humor, often in the form of pithy dialogue and through characterization, such as Big Cyndi’s Bat Girl obsession. Myron mentions that Big Cyndi always “goes hard,” and I am absolutely here for it because she is an iconic character with a ton of heart.
In addition to narration by Myron and Win, the story gives a disturbing peek into the killer’s perspective using second person point of view.
One of my favorite parts of the book is how the secondary characters, concerned about the history between Greg and Myron, rally around Myron. Win is his devious and fiercely loyal best making moves to protect Myron. I’m hoping that Coben pens another book soon that focuses on Win.
As usual Coben provides a wonderful ride, and spending time in Myron and Win’s wild world is always a treat.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Thanks to Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette Book Group, for providing an Advance Reader Copy via NetGalley.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. As always, Harlan Coben gets you intrigued, makes you laugh at the sarcasm, and makes you worried he will get killed. But we always know he and Win will work as hard as they can for justice and the truth. Loved this and will always read Mr. Coben's books.
Harlan Coben has been an author I've wanted to read for a while but just never got to. I wanted to read his books after watching the Netflix series, The Stranger. (so good!) Thanks to #netgalley and @grandcentralpub, I was given the chance to read the advanced reader copy of Think Twice. I went into it completely blind and not long after someone told me they've "never read a Harlan Coben book that wasn't gripping all the way through." What a perfect description of this book. By going in blind I had no idea this was the 12th book containing the main characters, Myron and Win. That didn't stop my interest or my understanding of the book, so I assume that most of that series can be read as standalones.
I absolutely loved the way this book was written. I don't know that I've ever seen such witty humor and banter in a thriller before. Myron and Win had me cracking up all throughout the book. Of course, I thought I had the ending pegged, and of course, I was dead wrong. This may have been my first @harlancoben book, but it will not be my last!
Harlan Coben is a master and the tension in Think Twice just keeps getting thicker with every page. Again we have our favorites all in attendance, Myron, Win, Big Cindy and Esperanza. But, this time also Myron's biological son as well as some people from the past.
In Think Twice, the book almost begins with a Sandford vibe, We are witness to a very diabolical serial killer who frames others for his murders.
Then with a blast from the past the FBI come and see Myron and Win asking where an old deceased nemesis, Greg Downing is. Well, dead right? But his DNA is at a current murder scene.
Thus begins a wild rife for Myron and Win. Especially when you consider the history between Greg and Myron, history in basketball, women and a son. This is a wild ride in which Coben masterfully weaves the story and complexities involved where you are never really sure who is the good or who is lying. The only thing we know for sure is that Myron and Win are as awesome as ever.
Another faced-paced, action-packed book written by the brilliant author, Harlan Coben. His books never fail to entertain. I was hooked the entire book! This is the 12th book in the Myron Bolitar series but it can be read as a standalone! However, after reading this book, I definitely want to start from the beginning and read the other books because I want more of Myron and Win! They are smart, ready to solve any problem, and I loved their banter- the humorous nature took this book to another level. AND the twist at the end..I did NOT see coming! I had no clue! What a rollercoaster of a book!
Want to know how a dead man is wanted for murder? I guess you'll have to read this widely shocking book to find out! It releases in May!
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. This is the 1st book in this series that I have read. This is book 12 and I feel like you could 100% read it as a stand alone. This story has a little bit of everything, adventure, thriller, suspense. This one was fun and is a must read.
A new Harlan Coben with all the usual elements - fast paced story, thrilling cliffhangers, lot of plot twists, a death from years ago and best of all - a book that does not disappoint. Here's to many more
Myron Bolitar 's friends Greg Downing died three years ago. They were friends and rivals. When federal agents confront Myron asking where Greg is, Myron is drawn into a case. Greg is accused of faking his death and has been placed at the scene of a homicide. Myron and his friend Wynn set out to solve the mystery. I won't give any spoilers. read it to find out.
Number 12 in a series that is new to me. I enjoyed this very much. It worked as a stand alone because I didn’t feel that I needed to catch up but do want to read more about these interesting characters.
Myron and his frenemy Greg have known each other since they were kids playing basketball. They both made it to elite positions but an injury, caused by Greg, sidelined Myron’s career. He became a successful lawyer and sports agent(?) while Greg played and was a successful coach in the NBA. Myron is shocked when Greg’s DNA is found at the site of a murder because he had died 3 years ago.
This mystery had many twists and turns, fully developed characters and surprises right to the end.
5 Stars!
Thank you for this ARC Netgalley.
You can not go wrong with Harlan Coben if you are looking for a fast paced book that you can't put down. I read this book in a day, it is just that good.
There are a lot of twisted paths throughout this novel. Is a dead man really dead? Since he is accused of committing a crime it seems he isn't.
Myron, the protagonist in Coben's books, is charged with finding out.
When he pulls one string others follow.
The end is stunning and you will never see it coming.
Me while reading:
Oh, okay, I know what this is about and who did what.
Oh! Okay, now I know what this about and who did…wait, what?!?
WAIT! WHAT?!?
Yeah, no…I had no idea what was coming. What starts out seeming so simple ended up being a twisty and wonderfully complicated plot and, no, I had NO CLUE who actually did what.
The book starts so easily, but eventually becomes a roller coaster ride of adrenaline and, yes, occasional tears.
As usual, Coben does not disappoint and I need his next book now, please!

Ok, let's start with the fact that thus book is utterly stressful, but thrilling! As new answers are unearthed and the main characters navigate the story's events, the reader is literally breathing in a paper bag. As soon as one answer seems to be the most plausible explanation, the author throws another alternate universe into the mix. It is exciting but in some ways unnerving because at any moment, the speed and tone of the book can switch. This is the end of the series and ultimately and excellent ode to Harlen and his previous work.
Harlen Coben is definitely a favorite author of mine so I was excited to get this book as an ARC. The Myron Bolitar novels are always great stories that are quick to read. I love how the storyline plays out in this book. Just enough twists and suspense to keep you reading, with a satisfying conclusion.
Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and Grand Central Publishing for the advance reader copy. This is my honest review.

Every time you think you've uncovered a clue, 'think twice' as Harlan Coben will keep readers guessing until the final page. The dynamic duo is back and ready to close a case that was presumed 'dead' from the start. Along the way, fans will find familiar friends joining their fight to capture the killer.
Filled with Coben's trademark twists and turns, once the middle lane is crossed, there's no going back. Will they solve the mystery in time or has this thrilling series reached its conclusion? Thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher for the early edition in exchange for an honest review. Due to a slow start, I'm giving the story 4 instead of 5 stars but once readers are caught up in the drama, it's a high-speed chase to the book's shattering conclusion.
When Myron learns one of his dead clients DNA was found at a murder scene, it begs one question, how. Myron will discover that Greg faked his death, and some people close to him knew the truth. He is hurt, but being Myron, he is determined to figure out if Greg is indeed the killer.
This book has the expected witty banter between Myron and Win, and even managed to throw in more than one reference to time catching up with Win, Myron, and his parents. That made me a wee bit nervous that someone might die. But the author hasn’t written a book with Myron as the main character in quite a while, so I hoped this wasn’t his way of tying up this series. No spoilers here though. You will have to read Think Twice to find out what happens. There were the usual number of bad guys, one in particular, Joey the Toe, highlighted the dialogue I’ve come to expect from this series.
I changed my mind more than once, regarding what was really going on. People murdered, and everyone arrested for the crimes claim that they are innocent. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough and near the end I screamed at my Kindle, no! It was so good to hang out with these characters again. I’m going to cross my toes (especially the pinky toes IYKYK) that the author has more for these characters to say.
Myron Bolitar has reopened his sports agency and teams up with friend and attorney Win Lockwood when federal agents tell him that his once rival, long thought dead, former client Greg Downing’s DNA has been found at the scene of a murder. Is Greg still alive? As the pair dig down into the mystery, they find that there are similar puzzling cases in other locales. Could there be a serial killer and is Myron in danger?
This is the twelfth in best selling author Harlan Coben’s Myron Bolitar series. I have read many of Coben’s books, but only one or two from this series and that was a very long time ago. Myron and Win are a bit over the top characters; smart, resourceful, and entertaining. There is suspense, action, humor, colorful characters, a twisted plot line in this fast paced, entertaining read. I enjoyed the technique of interspersing the narrative with chapters from the perpetrator’s POV.
Although this was successful as basically a stand alone for me, My enjoyment of it might have been enhanced had I followed the career progression of these two characters by having read more books in this series.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!
Harlan Coben delivers again! While this book had all the thrills that we are accustomed to reading in a Coben book, this book was very rich in character relationships. Additionally, all your favorites characters like Win, Big Cindi, and Esperanza get tons of story time. The relationships and thrilling plots are what make this series so great! I love the relationship that Myron has with Esperanza, and Big Cindi; but especially his relationship with Win. There is a lot of the story spent with Win and even a few “Win” chapters. Lots of sarcasm, witty banter and charm throughout the book. However, the bonus with this book is Myron's parents. They are deeply involved with the book’s storyline. It’s very fun to read the bantering with his parents and how much Myron cares about his parents. Reminded me of Jerry Seinfeld’s parents on “Seinfeld.”
This book has many twists and turns, humor, and a hold onto your seat storyline. You know it’s good when you have the killer wrong the whole time. Well written! Can’t wait until the next book!
