We’ve waited a long time for the return of Mickey Bolitar and crew. You can read this as a standalone but to have a full picture of the relationships and dynamics of the central characters start at the beginning. The novel will feel richer for it.
Myron gave the eulogy at the funeral of Greg Downing, friend and nemesis, so when the FBI knocks on his door and says Greg is wanted for a recent murder Myron and Win start to investigate. Sometimes slow paced, but the ending crescendos in a satisfying conclusion.

SYNOPSIS
- Sports agent Myron Bolitar gave a eulogy for his client, coach Greg Downing, three years ago. Now, federal agents claim that Greg is alive and wanted for a double homicide.
- Myron and his friend Win set out to uncover the truth, but secrets and a dangerous conspiracy put their lives at risk.

MY THOUGHTS
- I haven't read any other Myron Bolitar books in the 12-book series, so you can still enjoy it as a standalone read.
- I am slowly making my way through Coban’s repertoire. He’s written 30+ novels, and I’ve read 3 so far. I enjoy his writing style, and he clearly knows how to craft a thriller.
- Set mostly in NYC & mainly from Myron’s POV with some chapters from Killer’s POV & Win’s POV.
- Steady pacing.
- Satisfying ending.
- Well-plotted.
- Lots of names to keep straight. Bit confusing at first.
- Interesting twists and premise.

TL;DR: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️solid thriller/suspense from Coban. Although 12th book of series, I read as standalone & enjoyed.

Thanks to Grand Central Publishing and Netgalley for this digital ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book will be published on May 14, 2024.

Think Twice, A Myron Bolitar Novel, by Harlan Coben

The Master of Plott Twists strikes again! As is the case with all of his books, every time you start to get a feel for where things are going, the rug is ripped from under you. Couple that with his distinct sense of humor and all of my favorite characters coming together and you have another 10 star novel.
I've got to say though, this is the first Harlan Coben book that actually horrified me. Not because it was bad. The book is fantastic. But unholy kittens, this one went to some pretty scary places. I know, there is always murder and mayhem in a Coben book. I expected that. But this one goes a bit further. I just hope no real life evil masterminds read this one or we're all in trouble!

I was going to leave a detailed review of this ludicrous novel, but reading the previous reviews has depressed me. Do people really think this feeble, badly written inanity is a good thriller? If the people demand pablum, they’ll get it, I suppose.

I always enjoy books written by this author. This book was a good time and very enjoyable read. I can’t wait to read more of their books

Harlan Coban has written another amazing thriller, this time bringing back sports agent Myron Bolitar and his friend Win. It was great to have Myron back after so long as he, Win, Esperanza, and Big Cindy work to solve a compelling mystery that hits so close to hold. Lots of twists and turns and a surprise ending.

In Think Twice, author Harlan Coben surrounds lead Myron Bolitar with interesting characters as they try to unravel the mystery of how a dead man can be accused of murder. I couldn't put the book down, it is mesmerizing and one of Coben's best.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Harlan Coben has a very fertile imagination, and he uses it brilliantly in this book. He can handily weave a web of intrigue and suspense that will keep you reading for hours on end. My favorite thing about Coben’s writing is how he infuses humor and I can both laugh and sit on the edge of my seat at the same time. This book digs into the depravity of the human mind and takes you on the hunt for a killer. The characters are morally ambiguous and carefully crafted and the plot is masterful.

Honestly, this is my favorite book of the year so far. It’s easy to rate this 5 stars and recommend it wholeheartedly to thriller readers and anyone who loves a great twisty tale. Thank you, NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for the advanced copy.

Thank you for the opportunity to preview Think Twice. I didn’t realize how much I LOVE the Myron Bolitar series until I read Coben’s latest novel. Yes Bolitar is back. And this is by far one of the best of the series.
Back are series regulars including Win, Terese, Myron’s mom and dad Esperenza, and a few others. Coben has a way of weaving these characters into the plot seamlessly.
A murder occurs and the DNA points to a dead man. This man knows Myron. Very well by the way.
Myron and company are drawn into a series of killings that may be the work of a serial killer.
And that killer has sights on Myron’s circle. And the who and why is definitely not apparent.
This is by far a welcome change to Cobens recent novels. Luved it. 5 very big stars

I first became a fan of Harlan Coben reading the Myron Bolitar series years ago. I was so excited when I got approved to read this new Myron Bolitar book coming out May, 2024. It was so wonderful to get thrown back into Myron’s world and his team. Myron has returned to being a sports agent again and is surprised when FBI agents come to his office looking for information and whereabouts of Greg Downing, one of Myron’s old clients. The FBI believes Downing is involved in one of their murder cases - but how can that be when Downing died 3 years ago and Myron did the eulogy! Myron and Win immediately start looking into the possibility of Downing still being alive. I love the friendship/teamwork between the two of them - oh how I’ve missed it! As usual, once they start looking into things - they uncover more questions and murders. The story sucks you in and doesn’t let go - I had to finish it in a day! The ending had my emotions all over the place!! I absolutely loved this book, it was filled with great characters and suspense. I give this book 5 stars out of 5! I hope this series goes on forever!

Ah, Harlan, I have missed you. It’s been too long since I immersed myself in Myron Bolitar’s world, and it was so fun to come back to it. I’ve read three (I think) other Myron books, so I was somewhat familiar with the characters, but never fear—this *can* be read as a standalone, although it’s better if you’ve read at least some of the previous books. Coben does a good job here of catching you up just enough on things you need to know about.

Win is, of course, as smugly arrogant as always, and he joins Myron here to unravel the mystery of how a dead man could have committed two recent murders. Coben reels you right in at the start, and I was no exception to this. I had six books on my to-read ARC shelf, and, while I was a good girl and read the next book on the list first, I was then sucked into this one ahead of schedule because Coben is just that good. I swear I was just opening up the ebook for a second, but that PROLOGUE!! That’s how you *do* it, folks.

Coben is also hysterically funny, and if you’re still on the fence about reading this, it does contain the most hilarious cover band name I have ever encountered, and it’s no exaggeration to say that the book is worth reading for that ALONE. 😉 I howled with laughter until I ran out of air…and then I laughed some more. Mr. Coben—you and I would get along famously. I love some humor with my thrillers.

Are you convinced yet? There’s a reason his books keep getting adapted to the small screen—Harlan Coben is a MASTER.

That’s enough out of me. Put this on your to-read shelf and mark your calendars for May 14, 2024!

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Grand Central Publishing and the man himself for the complimentary eARC. All opinions are mine alone.

I just hit 100 books reviewed on NetGalley about a week and a half ago, but receiving this ARC? Indescribable.

This is the best Harlen Coben book ever (although I may have said that for his last book as well!). Completely engaging, unique, and full of unexpected twists as only this author can do. This story is about murders where the DNA evidence adds up a little too nicely. An interesting take on how far we have come with DNA evidence and how it can now easily be abused (of course, I hadn’t thought of it in this context but that is why we read great books like these by very creative authors). What I also enjoyed was how both Myron and Win are described as growing older and I wonder where that will go in Coben’s next book. Can’t wait for it and am sure it will be even better than this one.
Thank you!!! NetGalley for an ARC.

A little different than previous Myron/Win stories and I loved it. Kept me guessing nearly to the end and I even needed to break out some tissues. Looking forward to the next book.

4 stars out of 5.

I have not read any of the other books in this series but I think this book can be read as a standalone. There is enough background information to not be confusing but if you want to get to know the characters and their relationships better, then read a few books in the series first. I found the book really fast paced and it immediately drew me in and I didn't want to put it down. I really enjoyed reading the POV of the killer and I think it gave us an interesting look at how the killer worked. The end was a huge surprise for me, just when I thought I knew who the killer was, I was thrown another twist. Overall, this was a very good book and if you are a fan of Harlan Coben, this is a must read!

In Think Twice, years ago Myron gave a Eulogy for a former friend named Greg but then the FBI shows up asking him if he knows Greg's whereabouts. Apparently Greg is wanted for a double murder that just happened and his DNA was found at the crime scene. Myron and his pal Win start to track down clues to find out if Greg is indeed alive and if he was really the killer.

Thank you Netgalley and Grand Central Publishing for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Buckle up! This was one fast paced seriously twisted book you don't want to miss! I absolutely loved it as you get hooked on the first page and the suspense builds trying to figure out who the killer is. Someone is killing people but then framing an innocent person to get blamed for the crime. This person has been getting away with it for years.

Myron and Win will pull out all the stops to try and figure out what is going on.

The ending that you didn't see coming. Well done.

📚 PRE-PUBLICATION BOOK REVIEW 📚

Think Twice
By Harlan Coben
Publication Date: May 14, 2024

MY RATING:

⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

THE SYNOPSIS:

"How can a man who’s already dead be wanted for murder?

Three years ago, sports agent Myron Bolitar gave a eulogy at the funeral of his client, renowned basketball coach Greg Downing. Myron and Greg had history: initially as deeply personal rivals, and later as unexpected business associates. Myron made peace and moved on – until now, when two federal agents walked into his office, demanding to know where Greg Downing is. According to the agents, Greg is still alive—and has been placed at the scene of a double homicide, making him their main suspect. Shocked, Myron needs answers.

Myron and Win, longtime friends and colleagues, set out to find the truth, but the more they discover about Greg, the more dangerous their world becomes."

MY REVIEW:

Coben has done it again!! A fast-paced, unputdownable, "you'll never guess" thriller from the master. Every time I pick up one of his books, I know I'm in for an amazing ride of twists and turns and thrills... And Think Twice was no exception!

This was my first Myron Bolitar book, though it's apparently the 12th one from Coben. While I felt like this book could stand alone and it wasn't absolutely necessary to have read the others, I wished I would have read some of the previous eleven -- if only just to have more context about Bolitar's past during this read. That's the only reason for the 4.5 rating (and not 5 stars).

This book was a thrill to read and so much fun! There was always something unexpected at every turn and it kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire read. If you're a fan of Coben, you'll love it! If you've never read Coben, what are you waiting for?!

Harlan Coben is one of my favorite authors and this book did NOT disappoint! Thank you to @netgalley and @grandcentralpub for this advanced reader's copy in exchange for my honest review. I was so excited to get my hands on this book --and I recommend you grab yours on May 14th too!!

Reading Think Twice is like a homecoming with familiar friends. Seeing Win and Myron in action again, along with the usual supporting crew, is always a fun read even if the suspense is high and the drama is intense. This book is part of an ongoing series and is great either read in order or as a standalone. Welcome back Harlan Coben - you are one of my favorites!
