It's no secret that I love Harlan Coben's books. I've been reading some of his series for years and years. The FBI is looking for one of Myron's old foes on and off the basketball court, who was also one of his clients in the past. One problem: this person hasn't been seen in years! Can the two of them find this man before the FBI does, whether he's living or dead? Or have Myron and Win finally found someone they can get along with? It's been so long since I last read a Myron book, but was easy enough to remember the characters.
Lots of thanks to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley
The first Myron novel since 2016. A surprise advanced copy from Netgalley the week before it released. Is this heaven? Yes it is. More Myron! Myron all the time. If you have not read the Myron books, start at the very beginning. A very good place to start. I love this chosen family of people.

Thank you to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book!
Harlan Coben is one of my favorite authors — one of the only male authors I enjoy reading. This book is in a series, one I haven’t read all of them, but I didn’t feel lost or confused; it read well as a standalone. The main characters were funny; I laughed out loud so many times, but then was turning the pages so fast to see what happened next.
You can always depend on Harlan Coben when looking for a sophisticated and surprising plot.
The FBI pays an unexpected visit to Myron Bolitar’s Sports Agency office looking for information about a past client. One catch— Myron believes him to be dead. And we’re off and running on another Bolitar adventure.
Financial shenanigans that partner Win apparently was aware of, murder implicating Myron and his son, are only two of the many complex story lines in this truly enjoyable newest from Coben’s Bolitar series.
Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to read an advance copy.
Fantastic addition to the series.
If you haven't read this series because you think--why would I want to read a series about a sports agent? I don't even like sports. Think again, because this series is very entertaining and the books are great mysteries with extremely likable characters. I think that this installment in particular, although completely understandable and a great read, would not have the impact without the lead in from previous books and being invested in the characters and their connections.
There are really dramatic things that happen, as well as some levity and humor (especially with Myron's parents and their edibles) that make this book a fast paced, engaging read. I listened to this as an audiobook and the narrator Steven Weber (who narrates all of Coben's books) does a phenomenal job. I prefer to listen to these books because he does such an amazing job giving each character a distinct personality.
Harlan Coben is at his finest with this novel, with so much twisty action you will be shocked and surprised more than once.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
Another great book by Coben. I love this author and everything he writes! This is another that needs to be made into a series.
I have a vivid memory of going to the beach with my family in my early twenties, and downloading a Myron Bolitar mystery onto my kindle to read while I was there. And then once I read it, I literally could not stop. I bought the rest of the series and had my nose (metaphorically) stuck in these books for the rest of that vacation. Even when I got back, I remember walking from my car to the office building where I worked with my head down trying to get in 5 extra minutes of reading. So this was a really nostalgic read for me. He put out a new installment in the series a few years ago (Home, maybe? And Win, which was fine), and he has a YA series featuring Myron’s nephew, but they never really hit for me the way the originals did. But I’m thrilled to say that Think Twice felt like a return to form with the humor and the partnerships and the twisty mystery that I wanted! Aaaaand now I want to reread the entire series.
I’m newer to Harlan Coben after SO MANY people have recommended this author time and time again. I have read a few of his books, but it has been awhile. I can see what all the talk is about. Harlan Coben is a great author.
👉🏼I probably shouldn’t have started with one that was so far in a series though 😂 but was able to read as a standalone either way.
•I will definitely be giving this author another go or TWO•
Think Twice is the twelfth book in the Myron Bolitar series. This book can be a sand alone read, but I think you are missing out on a spectacular series. It is a fast read that is full of quick-witted responses that makes this series so entertaining.
Former basketball star Myron Bolitar has attempted to restart his agency for sports stars and celebrities after he sold it. Two federal agents walk into his office, demanding answers about Greg Downing. This is surprising since Greg is dead and a well-known fact.
Myron and Winn his wealthy friend and sometimes rescuer are hot on the trail when more bodies turn up in seemingly closed cases which tie to Greg.
Greg, a former NBA player-turned-beloved-coach, is a client of Myron’s in spite of being dead. But they are also civil enemies. Which is why you should read all the books.
As Myron and Winn dig into the murders, they find strange things that seemingly to point to Greg by the thinnest of threads. Myron pulls at the threads only to find himself a target.
I love this series, It always rewarding and entertaining. I enjoy the sarcastic banter that is heavy throughout the series which gets better in each book like a fine wine.
this was my first Harlan Coben book and it was pretty good. I really liked the mystery and how the secrets and twists were unraveled. I had no idea who was behind all the killings which was great. I can definitely see why most of his books are turned into TV shows or movies.. they have an action/adventure vibe that keeps the reading wanting more. Definitely will be picking up more of his books.
Marlon and Win return!! I absolutely love this duo! This book felt as if there was more Win than prior novels, I was all about that.
Marlon’s former client, Greg, passed away years before but his DNA shows up on a dead body. How does that happen if he is dead…..
This may be my favorite book of the Marlon Bolitar series. He’s a great character, so incredibly likable, I am always rooting for him to figure out the crime. Win is so dry but lovable, can’t help but love him too. he’s a salty SOB though. The dynamic duo these too are. Them alone makes me want to recommend this series to others.
There were many twists to unpack, I finished this book in a day. I couldn’t wait to find out what was to come!
This is my first Harlan Coben novel. I enjoyed the plot and storyline . After hearing his ex rival may be alive, Myron is trying to find connections between some unlikely connected murders. Did his client murder the people the FBI thinks? Or is there more to the story?
Harlan Coben and his ability to pull us into the world of Myron Bolitar over and over again is on full display on "Think Twice". and that's exactly what this book makes you do, it makes you think twice, because just when you think you have things figured out, you don't. I have always loved reading Coben's books. i have always loved the Bolitar character, so when i got approved for this ARC i was ecstatic. I could not put this one down. from beginning to end, this book is a nonstop thrill ride.
Myron Bolitar is a likable character, yet not without weaknesses. His friends and family are important to him. He hates to leave any puzzle unsolved and this case hits particularly close to home. He is joined in his pursuit of the truth by an old familiar friend, Win, an incredibly loyal friend who doesn't shy away from violence.
I enjoyed this book. The plot was complex, with an abundance of seemingly unconnected characters and events - that is, until they all come together. (Hang in there, it will sort itself out.) Overall, it was a well-written and well-paced read, with plenty of twists, suspense, and a surprise ending.
Note: Although I had read previous Myron Bolitar books, enough of the characters' back stories is provided to make it work as a standalone read.
This was the first book I’ve read from the Myron Bolitar series and it won’t be the last. I already plan to read the previous books in the series because this one took off from the very beginning and it was such a thrilling read.
Honestly my favorite characters were Myron’s parents. They definitely added comic relief to the story and I loved them. The mystery was just so good and I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on this series!
When I first started reading the Myron Bolitar series in 2010, the first book (Deal Breaker) was already 15 years old. I'd read and loved some of Coben's standalones, I'd just been waiting for the ebook of the first couple of books in the series to be released. Sure enough - I was quickly enthralled with Myron, Win, and all the surrounding characters in their orbit. I read all of them except for the most recent one, because I didn't want to be "done" with them. So I was thrilled to learn that finally...FINALLY!...there was another book coming. I read #11 (Home), which was released 8 years ago and of course loved it. And at last, once again, it was time for this, the latest adventures of Myron & Co. And it did not disappoint - all the elements I love in this series are here again. The humor, the mystery, the surprises. Myron and Greg Downing lived in each other's orbits for most of their lives - as rivals on the basketball court, and later as agent and client. Greg married Myron's ex-girlfriend. Myron gave the eulogy at Greg's funeral. So he's surprised when FBI agents confront him asking about his whereabouts - 3 years after said funeral. There's enough evidence to make Myron and Win wonder, so they start to dig.
One of the things I love about all of Coben's books is that one of the central elements is the main character's love for his/her circle of friends and family. This is certainly true of the Myron Bolitar series. Another thing I'm appreciating (and lamenting just a bit at times) is that Coben is letting these characters age and evolve. Not as much as we mortals have since 1995 but still, they realize they've maybe lost a step. They don't recover from physical encounters quite as quickly as they once did. They aren't frozen in time, and I like that. I just hope it won't be another 8 years before we hear from them again!
Many thanks to Netgalley and Grand Central Publishing for providing a digital copy for an unbiased review.
Thanks to NetGalley for the free advance copy of Think Twice by Harlan Coben in exchange for an honest review.
Think Twice is another solid outing from Coben who brings back fan favorites Win and Myron, this time in search of a former client and rival (it’s complicated) whose DNA is found at the scene of a crime. Only problem is he’s dead, so how could he have committed murder?
Lots of other characters from previous books in the Bolitar series make an appearance, as does Win and Myron’s typical snarky patter - what would a Coben book be without Win saying “articulate!”?
Four stars for this fun and fast-paced thriller from a pro.
I have not followed this series and missed several of the last few books but picked this one up for a PMReads buddy read and I’m kicking myself for not reading them all. Forgot how much I love the Myron/Win combo. That being said, it works just fine as a standalone as well. When Myron’s former rival is a murder suspect years after his death, he and Win embark on an investigation of his own. And, with a series of killings going on at the same time, there is a lot going on. I found this to be a great thriller and I was fully engaged and even a bit emotional at times. Highly recommend. Thanks to NetGalley for my arc to read and review. 4⭐️
I like the Myron Bolitar series. The books read a bit like Lincoln Lawyer with a basketball twist. Here Myron's old rival and sort of modern friend died 3 years ago but suddenly his DNA shows up at a murder scene. Huh? It's a twisty turny story about a serial killer that plants DNA to give the police and easy path to a plausible killer. The ending is a surprise, one that I didn't see coming. I'm not sure I liked that ending but regardless, it's a pretty good book. Win gets weirder and weirder.
