In Sizzle, we follow Sam and Lucy who are both firefighters that work alongside each other.
The book starts with them attending a fire at an abandoned warehouse when Sam believes he’s seen a person inside the burning building. Despite the captains orders he goes into the warehouse to try and save the person and Lucy follows.
They both get into huge trouble for this and are put on leave and forced to attend the academy for three weeks. Neither are happy about this but understand what they did was wrong. As they spent more time together they realise they both suspect the fire was not an accident and decide to look into the building and investigation to try and work out what really happened. But the person behind the fires suspects what they are up to and may just be out for revenge.
I absolutely loved this book. I was really gripped throughout the whole thing. There was action right from the start and I didn’t want to put it down! I was rooting for Sam and Lucy, enjoying watching them go from colleagues to more. There was the perfect amount of spice throughout.

Sizzle is the first book in the Remington Rescue Squad series by Kimberly Kincaid. This is a spin-off series from The Station Seventeen series. Fans of Station Nineteen and Chicago Fire will absolutely fall in love with this book!
Sam Faurier and Lucy de Costa are both in hot water after Sam goes against the Chief's orders to stay out of a warehouse that is burning fast, even though Sam is sure he saw someone inside. Lucy, who doesn't generally break any of the rules, follows Sam into the warehouse, as you never let another firefighter go in alone. They both pay the consequences for their actions by being pulled off shift and sent back to the academy for 3 weeks of training to hopefully remind them of the chain of command going forward. They are required to do both classroom work and all the physical activities that go along with being back at the academy, and I was honestly just as surprised as Lucy at Sam giving it his all, as he usually charms his way out of anything he doesn't really want to do. I liked they both stepped up to do the work and it gave me more respect for Sam to see him really bust his butt to get the job done.
I loved Lucy and Sam together and as individuals. They both have things from the background that effect how they look at the job, and I was so glad to see them each share with the other the more time they spent outside of the job together. Let me just say the chemistry between them was smoking HOT from the very beginning. Like steam up your kindle screen while reading HOT. I had all the love for this couple, and loved they just seemed to accept one another and get each other.
The mystery of the arsonist was solid, and I loved getting to spend time with favorite characters from other series as everyone worked together to figure out what was going on. This story kept me on the edge of my seat through the last 25% or so, and I absolutely could not put down the book! Kimberly Kincaid once again delivered a story full of action, mystery, love and most of all heart, and I loved the roller coaster of a ride she took her readers on in Sizzle.

I loved this first book in the new Remington Rescue Squad Series. Sam and Lucy were opposites in most things, but in this slow burn romance they learned how well they complimented each other. This story was the perfect amount of swoon, suspense, and found family. I loved seeing characters from other stories show up to play some major roles in this book. Can’t wait until the next book!
Sam and Lucy are both fire fighters who work together. After being hurt before Lucy is clear she doesn't want to date a colleague but will she call for him anyway. I liked the storyline and look forward to the next books in this series.
Gripping and wonderful
Just incredible! I loved every minute of this story, even the intense and scary parts. Ms. Kincaid has a way of keeping a great balance between action and drama, and between everyday life and spicy scenes. I’ve spent some time working in emergency services, and she captures the people, their ways, and the events they respond to in a very believable way.
Watching Sam and Lucy get together and develop their relationship was a treat. I really felt like a fly on the wall watching everything happen, being afraid for them when they were in danger and cheering them on when their chemistry brought them together. I am definitely looking forward to reading future installments of this series.
This truly was a sizzling book that continued until the last page. It was fun meeting the characters of Remington Rescue Squad Station 17. They were such a strong group that had each other's backs.
I especially liked the slow burn between Lucy de Costa and Sam Faurier as they were thrown together after disobeying orders and ended up in the midst of an arsonist or a pyromaniac. I liked that I could not put the book down, yet I was sad when I read the last page because I did not want the story to end. The characters, flaws and all, felt so real. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I'm always ready to jump into a new suspense series and the description of this one was just too good to pass up! And I'm so glad that I did jump in because while this is the first book by Kimberly Kincaid that I have read, she has gained a reader in me forever because this book had me completely enthralled from the first chapter and kept me that way all the way to the end. This book is written in a way that completely captured me and kept me interested in everything that was happening along with having me genuinely care about the characters and what happened to them.
The title of this book was certainly fitting as the chemistry between Sam and Lucy was ridiculously intense. It also had one of my favorite elements and that is that Sam and Lucy knew each other previously. I also loved that Sam and Lucy were both firefighters instead of just one of them. Having both characters being in the same profession, especially with it being high risk, just brought a different element to their relationship and to the story. Also, the twists and turns in this book definitely kept me guessing. I always love a good story that I can't guess the ending to!
I can't believe this is the first book in the series but I am so excited for the next one that comes. In the meantime, I will be going back and reading more of Kimberly Kincaid's other works in hopes that it tides me over until the second book in this series comes out. So I definitely recommend this book, this series, and this author. Seriously, give it a shot!
I was already a big fan of this author, this book didn’t change my mind about that. She does the perfect amount of romance and suspense and humor. The story is the right amount of spicy. I already look forward to the next book in the series. This book had an interesting twist of the heroine being a firefighter legacy member. Her dad is still active. No pressure.
"Sizzle" by Kimberly Kincaid is a thrilling romance set in the world of firefighting, where Sam Faurier finds himself in trouble after a risky decision on duty. Alongside Lucy de Costa, another firefighter, they face the consequences of their actions and uncover a dangerous arson case.
The chemistry between Sam and Lucy is electric, adding tension and excitement to the story. Despite their attraction, they must focus on solving the arson case, which puts their careers at risk. Kincaid skillfully blends romance and suspense, keeping readers hooked as Sam and Lucy navigate both the dangers of their job and their growing feelings for each other.
What makes "Sizzle" stand out is its exploration of the arsonist's perspective, adding depth to the story. As Sam and Lucy dig deeper into the case, the stakes rise, leading to an intense climax that will leave readers on the edge of their seats.
While the romance between Sam and Lucy is a highlight, the well-developed characters and suspenseful plot also shine. Kincaid's writing is engaging, drawing readers into the world of firefighting and keeping them invested until the very end.
In summary, "Sizzle" is an exciting read that balances romance and suspense perfectly. With its captivating storyline and dynamic characters, it's sure to entertain fans of both genres. Whether you're looking for a steamy romance or a gripping mystery, this book delivers on all fronts.

Sizzle by Kimberly Kincaid is the first book in her brand-new series, Remington Rescue Squad and takes readers back to Station 17 and some familiar faces. This story was a slow burn, but oh so HOT and packed with enough action and suspense to keep readers on the edge of their seats. Great characters and an intriguing and easy to follow plot made this another exciting and entertaining read.
Sam is a great firefighter even if he often flies by the seat of his pants. He seems like a happy go lucky guy to the world but underneath he is actually a complex guy. And he is attracted to Lucy but won't act on it because she shot him down when he made his move, and he respects that she doesn't want him. Lucy love being a firefighter. She is the daughter of a battalion chief, so she feels the pressure to prove she has earned her spot on the squad. A guy like Sam might be appealing to most women but Lucy knows that he could upend her career. When the two of them break protocol and enter a burning building their fates are sealed. They both get punished. Will the time together doing their penance give them a chance to build a romance or will the bad guy manage to stop them before love can bloom?
I really like that the author gave Sam a background that seemed like public knowledge but most of his history isn't known by most people. I don't want to give away Sam's secrets, but the author works in little hints and tidbits so that when Sam reveals it to Lucy it has real impact. Sam seems like a really good guy that would make a great friend. Lucy starts the story closed off and in self-preservation mode. The author does a good job crafting a history that explains why Lucy will never be in a relationship with another firefighter. The addition of Lucy's dad being a battalion chief added a nice extra layer of tension for Lucy. The side characters all add to the story and help the characters move forward in their relationship. I thought the author giving the bad guy chapters of his own was a good choice. It really amped up the creep factor of the bad guy.
This is a contemporary fire fighter romance set in the Remington Fire Department. It is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I will read more from this author in the future.
I really liked this book. Sam having a crush on her for the past 3 years was just so cute. He never forced her or made his feelings known, he tried once, was shot down so he left things as they were. But then things change and they spent time together alone and can't deny their chemistry. I loved how Lucy wasn't afraid to let her feelings known, she liked him, she wanted him and she want their relationship to remain a secret. And Sam was right there with her. I liked them together too, they complemented each other so nicely, it was so good to watch. And I loved the found family in their firehouse and with all their spouses
Suspense and Love
This is the first book by Ms Kincaid that I have read, but with all the side characters I realize that a lot of the books in other series are linked, where they all have their own HEA. The teams in the firehouse are like family, having fun relationships. Happenings during a big fire throw Lucy and Sam together and an affair that was already simmering, is unavoidable. The scene where they share their trust and secrets is wonderfully sweet and goes on throughout the book. A good read!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

My romance heart loves this book!
In the first book in the Remington rescue series we meet Sam and Lucy and oh was this a fantastic read. These two couldn’t be more opposite he goes on instinct and she fallows the rules. I was all in from the start what a great book to keep me turning page after page. The authors writing is flawless and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.
Authors Blurb: Sam Faurier is in deep trouble.
Which normally wouldn’t be a problem for an elite firefighter with razor-sharp instincts and cocky bravado to spare. Except this time, his impulsive decision on a call got fellow firefighter, Lucy de Costa, into hot water, too.
Did he mention that he’s had an unrequited crush on her for years? Or that she’s the battalion chief’s by-the-book daughter?
Or that the call that got them both benched was actually arson, only Sam can’t prove it without help?
Lucy de Costa doesn’t break the rules, and she sure as hell doesn’t catch feelings for other firefighters. She’s worked way too hard to make her way up the ranks for that, no matter how sexy Sam Faurier’s smile is or how hot his determination.
He’s convinced there’s an arsonist on the loose. Trouble is, she’s the only one who believes him. And she’s going to have to throw protocol and caution out the window in order to help him prove it.
Even if she finds herself unable to resist him and how much he wants her in the process.
But the more they uncover, the deeper the danger becomes. To catch the arsonist, Sam and Lucy will have to rely on their wits, their training, and each other.
Before it’s too late.
This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in single POV this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.
Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕
I recently delved into the world of Sizzle, and I must say, it was a truly captivating experience. This contemporary romance novel offers a perfect blend of heat, heart, and humor that kept me hooked from beginning to end.
Kincaid's writing style is engaging and immersive, effortlessly drawing readers into the lives of her well-developed characters. The chemistry between the protagonists is palpable, making their journey from initial sparks to fiery passion a joy to witness.
What sets Sizzle apart is not just the steamy romance but also the depth of emotion and the realistic challenges the characters face. Kincaid skillfully weaves in themes of family, friendship, and personal growth, adding layers of complexity to the story that resonate long after the final page.
Overall, Sizzle is a delightful read that delivers on its promise of romance with a side of sizzle. Whether you're a fan of the genre or looking for a compelling love story to escape into, this book is sure to satisfy. I highly recommend giving it a read and immersing yourself in the world Kimberly Kincaid has crafted.
My first Kimberly Kincaid and it was awesome. A new series starter which delivered interesting and realistic characters who “spark” off each other brilliantly, an unpredictable storyline to hook your teeth into that has mystery, suspense, action, drama and a HEA. I couldn’t stop charging through the pages and highly recommend it.
Hold onto your seats, Kimberly Kincaid has done it again! Loved the book!
Squad firefighter Sam Faurier had issues following the rules while engine firefighter Lucy De Costa did nothing but follow the rules. When she followed Sam into a burning building after they were told to stand down and he wouldn’t listen, she couldn’t let him go in alone without having his back. For all their trouble, both were sent back to the academy to train with the new recruits. When they had time off where did they go? If you guessed back to the scene of the crime, you were right! Now they have ticked off the arsonist, Malachi and have to find him before he does more damage, including to both of them.
As always Kimberly Kincaid knocks it out of park. She has a way with words and Sam and Lucy have the chemistry in spades. If you like hot firefighters and forbidden workplace romance this is a store for you.
Sizzle indeed. The first book in Kimberly Kincaid’s new series, Remington Rescue Squad kicks off with Lucy and Sam and wow, what a hot start. I felt the connection between Lucy and Sam from the start, as Lucy a consummate rule follower goes against her instincts to support Sam on a call. Intrigue, Danger, Arson(?) and forced proximity lead to many sparks between these two. What I loved most was their vulnerability with each other, especially Lucy figuring Sam out before he even shared what makes him different in his eyes. I loved the care they had for each other. Can't wait to meet more of the Remington Rescue Squad.
