Lucy and Sam are both firefighters and get thrown together to investigate a suspicious fire.

I liked how raw and vulnerable they were with each other. There were some spicy scenes, just 2 or 3, and really made this book more about the suspense than romance.

The supporting characters were fantastic, and this book is a great set up for future stories in the series.

Sam Faurier notices someone at the window of a burning warehouse. He makes an impulsive decision, going against his boss’s order and goes into the burning building to save the person he saw.
Lucy de Costa is a rule follower, and one of the rules is that you always go in pairs, and so follows Sam into the burning building.
As a result of disobeying direct orders, they are both benched and sent to the fire academy for 3 weeks.
Sam and Lucy both suspect that there was more to the fire than met the eye, and they start an investigation. Will this land them in more trouble or will they find something to redeem them ?
This is a great romantic suspense. Sam and Lucy are investigating the fire, and though the arsonist is not a secret, their journey to catching him was full or twists and turns. And while on one side we have the investigation going on, on the other there is a romance brewing between Sam and Lucy.
Sam and Lucy were attracted towards each other from the start, and now spending time together they finally give in to it.
This was a very well written, romantic read with nail biting suspense. I loved the banter and the chemistry between Sam and Lucy. This is a first book in the Remington Rescue Squad and I look forward to reading more.

One small decision that breaks the rules sets two lives on a path neither one of them saw coming. Sam and Lucy were born to fight fires but were also destined to fall in love. That is not to say that this romantic suspense does not have it's ups and downs, it's very own heart break and eventually love. Kimberly Kincaid knows how to grab the reader's attention and hold it to the very last page. Filled with just the right about of suspense, action and emotions made this a great beginning to a new series.

This is my first introduction to this author, and I am glad I took the opportunity to read this one, the first in the Remington Rescue Squad books.
What would have made this a better read for me is if I had already finished with the Station Seventeen series first. Just my opinion...

Sam and Lucy have respect for each other's capabilities, and it was one of the best things about this book for me. There's plenty of drama, spicy scenes, suspense and danger interwoven in their journey to their HEA, and it kept the pages flipping.

I always enjoy "meeting " a new author, and diving into their back catalog - which is exactly where I'm going next. I was fortunate to receive a complimentary copy of this book and voluntarily leave my review.

I love firefighter romance novels. Sizzle is a wonderful addition to the list. Lucy is a follow the rules kind of person. Sam will follow the rules unless there is a good reason not to. It surprises Lucy that she can rely on and trust Sam with everything. He comes off as a fun loving fly by the seat of your pants kind of guy until you get to know serious Sam. To Sam, Lucy is perfect she doesn't need to change anything. I really enjoyed reading this book.

This was sexy and exciting. The life of a firefighter felt real and animated, and Sam and Lucy were passionate, stubborn but ultimately kind and caring. The family at the fire station all supported each other and the day to day decisions that were taken made me feel part of the life they were leading.
The suspense around the arson was well handled, it didn’t over power the book and kept a frisson of excitement running through the book which a great climax. The romance was the icing on the cake.

New series with my favorite firefighter, Sam, and relative rookie, Lucy. They have a lot going for them but just as much against them. She’s a Captain’s daughter and he’s estranged from his family. Only when they get in trouble for disobeying orders, listening to their gut instead of the boss, do they finally realize their flammable connection. This one involves lots of characters from other books as they investigate a possible arsonist. It’s fun to catch up with familiar characters and learn about fire investigation. There is a prequel book however it is just the first three chapters to this one and unnecessary to read. There’s a ton of banter, both teasing and sexual, to lighten the serious topics and crazy criminal activity. I received an early copy and wrote this review voluntarily.

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the first book in the Remington Rescue Squad series. I got pulled into this story right away, and I really loved the characters in this book. There were twists and turns in this book, and I really enjoyed them. There was drama going on with both the main characters, and I got pulled into all their drama which made me want to keep reading. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Another adorable couple from the talented Kimberly Kincaid, yay! Sizzle is the first in a new series, but the cast of characters will be very familiar to anyone who's read some of Kincaid's other series (Station Seventeen, The Intelligence Unit). The sheer number of secondary characters can be a little overwhelming, actually, but the good news is that the book does just fine as a standalone.

Sam and Lucy have been coworkers and friends for about three years, but aside from an initial bit of flirting by Sam early on and a few naughty thoughts by both of them over the years, they've remained safely platonic. It all changes after Sam breaks a rule and Lucy has no real choice but to take the fall with him. They're sent back to the academy for a few weeks as punishment, and their shared dismay is a vehicle for them spending a lot of time together. Time that inevitably turns sexy.

At the same time, there's an arsonist with a grudge that Sam and Lucy's detective friends (see the aforementioned Intelligence Unit series) are trying to catch, and our protagonists are caught up in the chase too.

This book is romantic suspense but leans heavily towards the romance side, which isn't necessarily good or bad; it all depends on your preferences. I like a little more suspense, to be honest, which is why I'm giving this book four stars instead of five. The overall pace is unhurried but doesn't drag, but far more pages are spent describing (beautifully, to be fair) intimate scenes than on any real suspense; true dangerous moments are few and far between.

Sam and Lucy's together though? Le sigh. She's a straight arrow who lives for rules, and he's her polar opposite, a person with a form of ADHD who frequently has too many things vying for brain space. Yet they fit together like puzzle pieces, each knowing instantly when the other is overwhelmed and able to center the other with a simple, subtle touch of a finger. Lovely.

I received an ARC of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!

This is the first steamy book I've read featuring firefighters. I liked the story. I found the story to be hot, and the characters were well written. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Lucy and Sam work well together at their fire station, even though they are opposites in many ways. Lucy does everything by the book while Sam is impulsive and doesn’t think all the time before acting. When they are on a call and Sam saw a person inside an engulfed warehouse he is determined to safe that person, while ignoring orders. When Lucy follows him in they have to work together to make it out alive. When things start to get dangerous and they have to spend a lot of time together, they realize they can’t keep ignoring their feelings. Things start to develop in the case and in their relationship. Will both be able to solve the case and keep their relationship intact? I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Kimberly Kincaid does it again! What a great start to a new series! We got a few visits from past characters which is always fun! This is the first book which follows Sam Faurier a hotshot firefighter! He's definitely cocky and impulsive even a bit reckless! Unfortunately he's got the hots for one of his fellow firefighters! She just happens to be the daughter of the battalion chief! And she wants nothing to do with the cocky man! They both get benched after making a big no no out on a call to a fire! Lucy is the type that never breaks the rules and of course Sam is just the opposite! This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, intrigue, action packed, murder, mystery, serial arsonists, of course it was hot hot hot, and some crazy twist and turns! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I highly recommend reading this book and series! Thus book was well worth reading and the series is gonna be a fantastic one! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me! Can't wait for more!
