An inspiring book about overcoming fears, not ignoring them. Great book for teaching preschoolers about their emotions. A few adults could probably learn from this too. Would definitely recommend.

This is an utterly awesome book! There are so many useful tips and tricks for kids in every single page of this book, it's amazing. Nothing is too confusing for readers to understand, and the author's own personal journey is very empowering, and it pushes readers even further to fight their fear and be The Brave You. The whole idea of "The Brave You" is so clever, and kids will latch on very quickly to this, and it will take them so many places because of how valuable it is. Lastly, I loved how the illustrations made sure to depict realistic and relatable situations where fear might be present. This allows readers to relate to and connect with this book on another level, which is so important for a book such as this.
Bravo!

This title has a tenderness, an innocence and a caring quality to it and is ideal for younger children.
For older ones, it is still good to read with them one time, but the younger ones can treasure this multiple times.
It is both overt and subtle in its message (the practice of visualisation is made accessible to children, in other words).

Absolutely a book I would get any child, especially for any first time events happening in their life. Beautifully written and wonderful illustrations as well.

This is a reassuring book with tips about how to be brave. It is best for the youngest readers (PreK, maybe K). My worried 7yo would probably be insulted if I tried it with him. There are nice tips for kids and parents and a good explanation of what bravery really is. I just wish there were more books about this for slightly older kids.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

I love this book. My 4 year old who is on the Autism spectrum has a hard time understanding feelings, both his and others. He struggles with knowing that we can all be scared of things no matter how silly it seems. This wonderful story follows 3 friends as they learn to be brave and face their own scary moments. The illustrations are so colorful and fit perfectly with the easy to follow story. The story shows us Elephant, Gator and Cheetah in their scary moments and how they feel. They learn to be brave by imagining themselves being brave and getting through their fears.
I love the way this story shows us many different emotions and that everyone can feel them. It was the perfect way to start conversations with my son and hel him to better understand. I highly recommend this to any family and to any early childhood classroom to help talk about feelings and social skills.

Finding the brave inside yourself.

When we are scared, we get the funny feeling in our tummies and we get all tied up in knots. So what can we do? This book opens the door to the brave you. Starting small, we begin to think what a brave you looks like? You begin to imagine yourself as brave and begin to face those fears. It is truly amazing when we can face our fears, we grow and can do anything.

A great resource for both parents and young readers to overcome those fears that tie us up in knots. Here is to the brave in you!

Oh man, I wish I'd had this book as a child. What a gentle, encouraging way to let kiddos know that they can face their fears and it's not some miraculous coincidence -- it's their own cultivated courage and strength! I love how Katzenberger reassures the readers that even grown-ups feel this way from time to time, and I especially love the author's notes at the beginning and end. It takes a lot of courage to let other people know you're not feeling too brave, whether you're the child or the parent.

The book's message is clear and optimistic, and the illustrations are absolutely adorable. It will be a great addition to any children's library and a valuable gift to any kiddos in your life. ♥

I Can Do It Even if I'm Scared, gives advice on how to handle any struggles your child might have with fear. There are certain times when my Grandson gets anxious about situations and I'm going to share these techniques with his parents. This book gives us some additional tools for raising confident, secure and happy children.

Doing something new make us anxious, but we can do several things to make things easier.
As they say in show biz: Fake it till you make it".
The illustrations by Hannah George are great fun, colorful, imaginative, and relevant.
Perfect for reading alone or WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to everyone, especially to a school or your local public library!

How do you become brave? You fake it until you make it! Ok maybe that doesn’t resonate with littles… but this story does. If you think it, practice it, and act it out, eventually you’ll just BE brave!

We enjoyed reading this story and practicing being brave together. The illustrations are cute and my toddler liked seeing these animal friends overcome their fears and nerves to do brave things.

This fun story has such a great message for young children. Trying new things is hard and it’s important to be brave. I enjoyed all of the different ways to help yourself be brave including breathing and playing pretend. I plan to read this to my son as he gets ready to start kindergarten in the fall! I also found the note from the author in the back of the book helpful.

This book focuses on being brave when you’re scared of something. I know my daughter would have benefited from it when she was younger!

This is a book I would add to our Children’s collection and suggest to our SEL teacher, Kindergarten, and PreK. I appreciated the Author Notes and backstory.

It would be easy to create a follow up activity for students as well.

4/5 Stars
