"Walk of Shame" by Avery Flynn is a witty and steamy romantic comedy that delivers from start to finish. Narrated by Robert Hatchet and Savannah Peachwood, this audiobook brings the playful banter and chemistry of the characters to life with vibrant energy.
Hatchet and Peachwood’s dual narration works wonderfully, with each narrator embodying their characters’ personalities perfectly. Their performances enhance the humor and emotional moments, making the story even more enjoyable.
Flynn’s writing is sharp and entertaining, filled with laugh-out-loud moments and heartfelt scenes. The plot keeps you engaged, with a delightful mix of tension and romance that will leave you wanting more.
I’d rate this audiobook 4.5 out of 5 stars. It's a fun and memorable listen that romance fans won't want to miss. Thank you to NetGalley for my copy; all opinions are my own!

Not my cup of tea unfortunately. It was fun, cute and smutty, but I didn't love it. This is my second book by Avery Flynn and I found it to be a bit repetitive. So, if you love her, you'll love this. But if you were just meh about it or only enjoyed it a bit, you might end up in the same camp as me.
Such a cute book! It hit the perfect spot while I was in a book slump. I've read other books by Avery Flynn and like the others, this one definitely didn't disappoint. The characters were funny and flawed and I was thoroughly rooted to their journey. While I don't read a lot of hockey romance, but I didn't mind this one at all. I loved how Cal kept leaving little gifts for Astrid, it was so cute! The narrators also did a wonderful job of bringing the book to life. Savannah Peachwood is definitely one of my favourite narrators.
I am such a sucker for hockey romance! Walk of Shame grabbed me from the start. Astrid experiences the ultimate humiliation on the day of her wedding. Her husband-to-be FaceTimes her to tell her he cannot marry her. Since he was the goalie on the hockey team her dad coaches it made everything worse. It was the only thing anyone wanted to talk about for a long time. Astrid decides after that no more hockey! She also decides to only have one night stands to keep everything simple and sweet. That is until she sleeps with the goalie coach on her dad’s team to train her ex! I loved this book! It was so funny and had all the spice. Avery Flynn tells such a good story. I cannot wait to read more from her. The audio narration was so good. Thank you to NetGalley and RB Media for the audio arc in exchange for my honest review.
Very quick read. It was fun but a little one-dimensional. I wanted more from the characters in terms of development. It felt like the relationship really was just sex but they somehow both fell in love very quickly.
"*Walk of Shame* by Avery Flynn is a delightful and witty rom-com that had me hooked from the start. The chemistry between the two leads, Georgie and Andrew, is electric, with their banter making the enemies-to-lovers trope feel fresh and fun. Georgie is a vivacious, relatable heroine, while Andrew’s uptight nature provides the perfect contrast, leading to plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.
While the plot is somewhat predictable, it’s the humor, playful tone, and sizzling romance that make this book stand out. The supporting characters are also charming, adding depth and fun to the story. My only minor complaint is that some of the emotional development felt rushed, but overall, it’s a thoroughly enjoyable read that’s perfect for fans of lighthearted romantic comedies."
Flynns writing is a breath of fresh air. the banter is refreshing and the characters are super relatable. I really enjoyed this one.
While Walk of Shame didn’t leave a lasting impression, it was a fun and flirty ride! Things get complicated fast in this sports-filled romance, but this might be for you if you love hockey drama and sizzling chemistry!
It wasn’t the most memorable read, but I enjoy this author’s style and will keep reading her books.
I love this book. It was witty, and it was exciting. Getting to see both sides and point of view really helped. Keep the story going and make it more than just a typical romance novel. The narrator really were perfect and got you into the book and it was just the right amount of spice and feeling.
The female narrators voice was very unique and really helped Astrid’s personality to come through and one of a kind. Also When she did the male character, it was believable enough and didn’t take me out of the book.
That being said, I also appreciate that the male narrator didn’t try to do a female voice. I have enough Mel narrators doing bad female voices and it completely took me out of the book every time they talked to appreciate them not doing it. He changed his voice just enough to know when he was reading her part!
This was such a fun romance! When Astrid swears off relationships and vows to only have one night stands, she doesn’t plan on meeting sexy Cal.
I loved their chemistry, the spice, the curvy rep and the swooning! I listened to the audio format and it was so good.
*many thanks to RB media and Netgalley for the gifted copy for review

5 years ago, Astrid was left at the alter by her childhood sweetheart and the goalie of her fathers professional hockey team, and since then she has lived a hockey free life with one night stands only. However, one night with a sexy lumberjack breaks all the rules when she discovers he’s her upstairs neighbour and he just joined her dads hockey team to train her ex.
Walk of Shame was such a fun book! There was lots of banter and the chemistry between Astrid and Cal was out of this world. The narrators, Robert Hatchet and Savannah Peachwood, did an excellent job, I couldn’t put it down and finished it in a day! You’ll like Walk of Shame if you like:
-dual pov
-sports romance
-spicyyyyyy 🌶🌶
-he falls first
-curvy fmc
-diet coke love
This is the second book in the series but I went into it without reading the first and had no issued following the story. Can be read as a standalone. My only thing to note was the epilogue… I reread (listened) to it twice and I’m still confused! Like WHAT?!
Thank you NetGalley and RB Media for an advanced audio copy for an honest review.
Walk of Shame was a fantastic audiobook. I enjoyed the narrators, and the story had me laughing at times! I also really enjoyed the spicy scenes as well. The two main characters are falling in love with each other and don't realize it at first! This was a perfect spicy, sports romance any reader could enjoy!
This is my first book by Avery Flynn and it won’t be my last. So entertaining! Great characters with tons of banter and chemistry. This book went fast.
Blurb: One night. No strings. And a really good puck. Five years ago, Astrid O'Malley experienced the ultimate in public humiliation. Being dumped at the altar by her childhood sweetheart was horrifying enough. That fact that he was a professional hockey goalie and her dad was his coach? It was all anyone in sports could talk about…
Now, after years of no hockey, she has a new problem because tonight’s one night stand lives in the apartment upstairs and he's joined her dad's team. As the goalie coach. To train her ex. Now Astrid is in some kind of hockey hell
Narrated by Robert Hatchet and Savannah Peachwood (I love a dual opinion narrative!) Walk of Shame proves to be a fun, romantic, story that keeps the reader listening, making the 9 hours fly by. When I enjoy a romance book it is usually because the characters are interesting, captivating, and offer a unique perspective to what is going on. The characters in this book fit that bill. Similarly, if the book can make me laugh and swoon it is a good one. Only good things to say about this book. Would highly recommend. P.S. fairly spicy 🌶️
I received the advance copy audiobook for my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley, RB Audio, and the author, for this opportunity.
Thank you to the publishers, author and NetGalley for the free copy of this audio book.
Fun, witty read with plenty of spice- try not to listen at work like I did! I did not listen to the first book in the series and thought it worked just fine as a standalone. The main characters' banter was very enjoyable. The narrators did a great job.
Rating: 5/5 Stars
Walk of Shame starts with Astrid vowing never to fall again and only to have one-night stands. She does not want to bring public humiliation to herself again and not to her father, a famous hockey coach. Astrid meets Cal at a bar, and they are instantly attracted to one another. She thinks this will be like any of her one-night stands, but will it? Her father convinces her to work under him for his last hockey season, and guess who works for her father, too? Cal! Um, major awkwardness because now she must find a way to fight her attraction to him while he finds ways to woo her.
Walk of Shame was my first Avery Flynn book and will not be my last. It was cute and funny, and it made my heart melt.
Cal is definitely book-boyfriend material who pays attention to things Astrid likes and will go out of his way to do anything for her. Plus, I love the trope of the guy falling first.
Astrid was a good character, too, and had some growth. I get why she vows never to date again and does not want public scrutiny again, but a part of me wanted to scream at her to open her eyes and see how good Cal is. Plus, the girl needed some significant therapy from the trauma her ex put her through. Astrid did not annoy me because she was trying to find ways to navigate through her feelings and move past what her ex did to her. So many moments in this book made me laugh because Astrid would end up awkwardly avoiding Cal.
Overall, this was a fun book; I just loved every aspect.
I received an eARC via the author, via NetGalley this does not affect my opinion of the book, all my thoughts are my own and are honest.
This was an interesting read for me. Normally I either love a romance or hate it. I never before have had parts I liked and didn’t like. But Walk of Shame was the first.
What I enjoyed the most was the banter between the MFC and MMC. It flowed really nicely and was entertaining to read. The problems they had in the relationship which caused conflict was realistic and was worked through nicely.
Without going into detail about their bedroom activities, the smut wasn’t for me. I can see other people liking it but for me personally it didn’t do it for me.
Overall I don’t have any strong feelings towards this book negative or positive, it didn’t cause any emotional impact to me.
The thing I didn’t like the most about the book didn’t even have anything to do with the content between the pages. It had to do with the cover. The MFC was described to be larger in physique, Astrid had insecurities about it, Kal, was interested in her described physique, and was described in detail about his interest. It wasn’t just mentioned once and never talked about again. But the cover is a stick thin woman. It annoyed me through the whole book that Astrid was a larger woman but on the cover she is shown as a skinny woman. As a larger woman myself it is very rare to see my type of body shape represented in a books. When it is normally find they don’t do a good job representing the shape. When with strings attached it was good well. Which begs the question as to why they couldn’t have a cover that represented the MFC accurately. Again this critique doesn’t have anything to do with the book its self.

The story of Astrid and Cal took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride, from their unexpected one-night stand to the complex twists and turns in their lives. I was captivated by the palpable chemistry between the characters, and the perfect blend of humor, heartache, and sizzling moments that made this book stand out for me. The narrators, Robert Hatchet and Savannah Peachwood brought incredible depth to the characters, making the audiobook experience truly memorable. Their performances added layers to the story, making every emotion feel real. This book was a delightful mix of passion, growth, and the unpredictable nature of love.
This was a great audiobook. Loved the narration and the story had me laughing out loud at times. The two main characters are stubbornly falling for each other and don’t want to admit it especially for Astrid.

Robert Hatchet & Savannah Peachwood catapulted this experience for me to a 5 star. They were ridiculously good together! I read this story as well as listened to it and if I'm being honest, the audiobook is the way to go. They turned an already *lively* storyline into a *party* and I loved every minute of it!
I always go into an Avery Flynn book with trepidations because she's one of the most hit-or-miss authors that I read. But, no matter what, I can't say they aren't always entertaining! LOL
Astrid & Cal were sexy, fun, and relatable. Their characters grew throughout the story and the storyline unfolded very organically in my opinion. Nothing really came across as *drama-for-drama* and I cannot tell you how happy that made me!
Reading this story was a SOLID 4 STARS but listening to it made it a SOLID 5 STARS!
