This was such a sweet book! I loved the characters, and their love story. The dialogue was realistic and enjoyable.

Thanks to NetGalley and RB media for an audiocopy of this book.
I did not expect Walknof shame to be as good as it was! Very steamy with an actual storyline and fantastic narrators which actually fit the characters. My favourite character however is the old noisy neighbour with her no nonsense attitude and surprising language.
Plot:
5 years ago Astrid was left at the alter by her superstar Ice hockey goalie fiance Tig when he got a better offer to play for another team. Since then Astrid has sworn off Hockey and men (except for one night no strings attached sex). 5 yrs later she gets an offer she can't refuse to return to the world of Hockey except lines start to become blured when her latest conquest turns out to be her new colleague and neighbour! Can Astrid stick with her self imposed rules?
A good and entertaining book for fans of spicy sports romance.

This was an audio ARC that I was looking forward to listening to. The narrating duo of Robert Hatchet and Savannah Peachwood were "new to me" narrators and I felt like they did a good job. There are some narrating greats in this genre and sometimes I think I might just be getting spoiled.
This book is set in an already existing world but it took me a little bit of time before I realized that (that's a big "duh" for me). I think it is a spinoff of the Ice Knights Series (and also the Hartigan's Series which is also set in this world). This book is part of the "Downside to Dating" series and the Ice Knights hockey organization are really just peripherally mentioned - it's more for context, I think.
We meet Astrid who was left at the alter by a professional hockey player - a goalie. Then, the book jumps to 5 years later and Astrid unknowingly finds herself involved with another "former" hockey player even though she has completely sworn of hockey completely.
This is a very quick and easy read/listen that does not take itself too seriously. There is a small amount of angst, but not too much and ends in a little bit of a different HEA than usual.
Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to listen and review this ARC. The opinions above are mine and mine alone.

Great banter, one night stand after heroine was jilted at last minute before wedding.
Astrid is the heroine, Cal is the hero. Tig is the douche canoe Astrid's ex.
Hockey is the common denominator. Astrid's dad was the head coach, who retires. Cal takes over, but the ex- Tig is on the hockey team !
Astrid and Cal have instant chemistry. Once they find out who the other is, there's a lot of sparks.
Astrid is hesitant to get involved in another relationship. She hopes she can avoid Cal. No she can't.
I kept hoping Tig would get lost. I usually don't like the om involved in the story. In this case, it was unavoidable.
Astrid and Cal -the tropes abound: work place romance, forbidden romance, hockey romance, one night stand, starting over (yay).
I listened to the audio. Narration by Robert Hatchett and Savannah Peachwood.
This is book 2. Can be a standalone. I'll need to check out book 1 now

Astrid O'Malley has sworn off everything hockey thanks to her former fiance Tig, a pro hockey goalie who leftleaving her at the altar on their wedding day. Astrid loves her dad, the head coach for the Cajun Rags NHL hockey team, but everything else about hockey can pound sand in her eyes. When her dad asked her to come back and help for the last year of his coaching career, she was more than a little hesitant. To make matters more complicated, Astrid finds out her one-night stand Cal, the man she can't stop thinking about, just so happens to live in her building, is a hockey goalie coach working under her dad, and the goalie he is coaching just so happens to be her ex-fiancé Astrid, for five years, has been able to avoid everything hockey even though she once lived and breathed it, But that isn't the case anymore when she agrees to take her dad's offer to make him happy. Will she survive being surrounded by all things hockey, or will she crash and get burned once again? Only time will truly tell.
I absolutely adored everything about this book. The witty banter between Astrid and Cal had me laughing often. Add in the friendly competitions they liked to have and the spicy seance between the two of them, and I couldn't get enough of the two of them. I also loved seeing the father and daughter relationship in this book. I am a daddy's girl through and through. The audiobook performance by Robert Hatchet and Savannah Peachwood was amazing. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a rom-com romance with sports and spice.

Walk of Shame was an extremely fun, very spicy, and laugh out loud funny read. After Astrid is stood up at the alter due to her fiancé chasing his professional hockey dreams, she shuts down emotionally and goes on a 5 year sex tour around the world. That is until she meets Cal at the bar & sparks begin to fly. After what she thought to be a one night stand, Cal not only lives directly above her, but is the new goalie coach on her dad’s hockey team (and OH that goalie? Her ex fiancé)
I loveeeeeeed the dynamic between Astrid and Cal. Their banter was fire & so was their sexual chemistry. This also had the perfect amount of cute moments like him drawing a portrait of her with her Diet Coke.
The perfect easy read after some of the crazy things I’ve been reading lately.

Walk of Shame was a fun, spicy laugh-out-loud listen that was absolutely delightful. The sparks fly between Cal and Astrid when they meet and they plan to spend only one night together, but the situation is suddenly more complicated when your one-night stand ends up being your new co-worker and you are also working with your ex-fiancé.
Astrid had shut down emotionally after being dumped on her wedding day, but when she meets Cal, she starts to break all of her tried and true rules and begins to reluctantly open her heart again.
Cal’s whole life was hockey until he almost died on the ice. Now he’s fighting to get back into the sport that he loved, but when a smart, feisty woman comes into his life that he’s unable to stop thinking about, he starts to want more in his life than just hockey.
Robert Hatchett and Savannah Peachwood narrated the audio and they were so much fun. Cal and Astrid were HOT and full of snarky, flirty banter and the narrators had me laughing out loud and gave me all the feels. The push and pull relationship and white-hot chemistry came alive in their performances. Walk of Shame was my first book by this author, but it will definitely not be my last.

“Walk of Shame” is another wonderful rom-com courtesy of Avery Flynn.
Book 2 in the Downside of Dating series, “Walk of Shame” provides plenty of laugh-out-loud moments for readers to enjoy. We follow Astrid and Cal as they fight feelings that quickly arise through a friends with benefits situation.
This is another book within the Harbor City world that has Easter eggs/nods to many of the other books in Avery Flynn’s collection.
Avery Flynn is an insta-read for me and this book is no exception.
Thank you NetGalley, Avery Flynn, and Entangled for this copy. It was such fun.

I received this on audio through NetGalley and it was such a fun story! Avery Flynn is a new to me Author, but I am a new fan! The banter is amazing, and if you know me, you know I love ALL THE BANTER. You will also know that I am a sucker for a good hockey romance….and I was surprised to find that this was indeed a hockey romance of sorts!
The FMC is a loveable character who got burned by her hockey star ex. Who is also on her fathers team. A team that she is also an assistant for. Because of the situation that occurs in the very beginning of the book, she has not only sworn off love, but she has sworn off hockey too.
She starts a new life, helping her friend’s family bar out, and living her life to the fullest…one hook up at a time. One night while she was helping out at the bar, A beefcake of a man came in and started hitting on her. One thing led to another and they ended up hooking up. Turns out, he lives in her building. Not only that, she soon finds out that her dad hired him to help out her ex, and its her dads final season, so he cons her into coming back to help out.
The narration met all my expectations, and believe me, I will DNF a book quickly if I can’t vibe with the narrators. They had great chemistry andI look forward to listening to other works from Robert Hatchet and Savannah Peachwood.
Tropes:
Hockey Romance-ish

Workplace Romance
ALL THE BANTER
RomCom

Astrid was left at the altar by her childhood sweetheart when he had a better hockey opportunity present itself. Something that made it even worse is that Astrid's dad is his hockey coach. She made the pact to herself that she would never get involved with a hockey player again. While working at the bar, she meets sexy lumberjack and ends up having what she thinks is a one-night stand with him when she realizes that he lives one floor above her. After that night, she thinks she will be able to avoid him and that is until she walks into work as a staff member on her dads hockey team to find out that he is also there as a goalie coach and to make it even better, the goalie is her ex who left her at the alter.
The two MC's had lots of chemistry and there was plenty of spice. We got glimpses into both of their families and I loved that insight. I loved the audiobook version!

*** 1/2 stars
Thank you to NetGalley and RB Media, recorded books for gifting me this ALC of the audiobook to review.
This is a fun, interesting and quick, but average listen or read. There was nothing wrong with the book, no red flags or anything, but at the same time there was nothing especially great about the book either.
Although this is part two of a series, it can be read as a standalone without a problem. You will still be able to follow the story and keep track of the many side characters.
One thing that this book did really well, is build up a rounded hockey and family environment. There are many side characters, but we are given enough information to keep track of them. It also makes the story more believable and grounded in reality.
The MC’s had chemistry and I was glad when they got their HEA, but at the same time, there was no yearning or deep romantic bond between them. Because the FMC’s development took up a big part of the book, it would also have been believable if the FMC decided that she was ready to look for someone else. I would have been sad for the MMC, of course, because he had a great character, but it wouldn’t have changed the story too much.
The epilogue was a bit detached from the story in my opinion and didn’t elicit happy gooey feelings that HEA epilogues usually do.
I can recommend listening to the audiobook version of this book. The lighthearted topic means you can easily listen while doing something else.

If you are in the mood for a spicy rom-com, then look no further! This book offers up characters that you just love to love. Cheesy moments that will have you smiling and some steamy scenes that will leave you blushing! The storyline was cute and predictable but in the best of ways. What I thought would be just a refreshing little rom-com turned into an attention grabbing, turn the volume down if you’re listening to this in your car in a crowded parking lot kind of situation. I know so many people who will enjoy this audiobook and the narration was on point!
I would like to thank Avery Flynn, the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this audiobook.

Astrid is over hockey and hockey players. She had her heart broken too badly by one, so she just has hookups now. When Cal walks into the bar in her building, he seems like the perfect fit for her rules for hookups. They have a fantastic night, and she is tempted to see him again. Then she realizes that they also work together. There is absolutely no way that they can continue a fling for several very good reasons. But they cannot keep their hands off of each other. Astrid is going to have to decide what she truly wants out of life before everything blows up again.
Astrid is a fun character, and Cal is a perfect match for her. They are both fiercely loyal and competitive. They are so funny together, and they kept me turning pages way too late. The audiobook is a great match for this story. The narrators captured the humor and flirtation perfectly while investing real emotion into the performances. This one is definitely worth multiple listens.

Once you have been left at the alter in a very public dumping by a rising hockey star, can you come back from that, or would you shun all close interactions with the male population for the rest of your life? That is the decision that our fabulously sarcastic and witty main female character in this book must answer for herself. Astrid has shunned all things hockey, not easy when your dad is one of the top hockey coaches in the league, but she manages to do so and shun anything that even remotely resembles a relationship beyond friendship with anyone male until he walks in the door. This is the second book in the series and I do recommend reading them in order as the enjoyment factor is absolutely worth it, but you will also get to know the characters much better. This story really drives home that friendship is everything and sometimes love is worth going for. The author weaves such a fun tale of finding a second chance with a new love along with a bit of close proximity then doubles down with yummy spice time in the kitchen, bedroom and a few closets! This series is a fun read, but I have to say that the narrators on the audiobooks really bring the characters and stories to life. Dual narration (a guy doing male voice/gal doing female voice) is definitely my jam as great narration does an even better job of bringing the characters to life and enhances an already well written plot! I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out as so far, the first two books have been amazingly fun entertainment!

This was my second attempt at Avery Flynn and I now have solid proof that her books just don't work for me

Walk of Shame is book 2 in the Downside to Dating series. I enjoyed the story of Astrid and Cal, which began with a one night stand to later finding out they have to work together. This was a fast paced workplace/forced proximity romance. That made you fall in love with the MMC, diet Pepsi and dark corners. Being asked by your dad who is the coach of the team that your ex that left you at the alter wants you to assist him to coach. It was a cute story with a HEA. I would definitely recommend and read more by this author.
Thank you Netgalley and RB Media for the audio ARC of this book.

The book's cover caught my eye instantly, so I had to request it on Netgalley right away, even though I didn't know much about it.
While the story itself isn't groundbreaking, it was a quick and enjoyable read. Despite not usually liking one-night stand stories, this one was well done. The chemistry between the characters was obvious from the start.
But what really stood out was the audiobook. I'm not sure who the male narrator is, but I’m going to do some serious research after this and see what other works he’s done. Plus, did I say this book is heavy on the spice and dirty talk? The combo was pure fire, and that's all I’m going to say.

Got this on NetGalley and absolutely loved it. It was funny and fun. This is a new to me author and I will definitely read her again. Fast moving story that was great from beginning to end.

I love romances with hyper competitive people. Astrid and Cal were cute, the writing had some amusing turns of phrase, and the side characters were hilarious. I lol'd at the one neighbor's BYOB speech. This was also sweet without being schmaltzy. Also, I only learned after requesting this that it was #2 in a series, so I'm excited I get to go back and check out #1. (This seems fine as a stand alone though.)
The narrators were great. And Savannah sounded familiar, so maybe it's a pseudonym for a narrator I normally like?
There were a ton of sex scenes in this, which for some may be a feature and not a bug.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher!

I LOVE everything that I read by Avery Flynn, and Walk of Shame was no different! Thanks to @netgalley for the chance to review Walk of Shame by Avery Flynn. Astrid was dumped at the altar five years ago when her hockey goalie boyfriend needed to leave town for the sport that she grew up loving. Since then, she has sworn off hockey in all forms. Until her dad, a former professional hockey player and popular coach, asks her to come on as a staff member to help turn his goalie with "the yips" around - who just so happens to be that ex-fiance.
Astrid has a steamy hookup,,, and he turns out to be Cal, the new goalie coach that her father hired. Thank goodness she only has one-night stands, right?
Super steamy but also incredibly sweet. The cast of characters and the Ice Kings teammates were so funny and added much to the story. Awesome banter and text messages... gotta love a persistant MMC! I would recommend this to anyone looking to read a spicy hockey romance. Loved it.
The narration by Robert Hatchet and Savannah Peachwood was perfection.
