A delightful blend of romance, humor, and nostalgia that takes the reader on a whimsical journey through time. I loved the nostalgic vibes of the 90’s and the trip down memory lane. Parts of the story were a bit predictable but it was a charming and entertaining read.
Many thanks to Kensington and to Netgalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I loved the Tamberellis’ first book, The First Date Prophecy so when I saw they had a second book about to be put I jumped at the chance to read it. While the new one is cute, I didn’t like it quite as much as the first.
Beatrix Noel is an up and coming screenwriter who finally has her big break in seeing her movie about her father, with whom she had a tumultuous relationship, get made. As excited as she is to have finally made it, her excitement is marred by having the hottest star, Rocco Riziero, star in it. Rocco and Beatrix had a falling out towards the end of 1999 and while Rocco has moved on, Beatrix has not. Despite Rocco’s best attempts to clear the air, he doesn’t make any progress until an accident propels both him and Beatrix back to 1999. They realize they have the opportunity to set things right and attempt to do so while not doing anything to drastically change the future.
This really is such a cute back to the future type story, but the I felt the chemistry that Rudy and Lucy had in The First Date Prophecy was lacking between Rocco and Beatrix. I think my biggest issue is I didn’t like Beatrix as much as I liked Lucy and that colored a lot if the book for me.
That being said, the overall story is very cute and the time travel aspect is fun. There was one particular point that me going in circular thinking to the point of feeling crazy. I talked it through with my Doctor Who loving daughter and she said time truly is “a big ball of wibbly wobbly, timely-wimey stuff.” Oddly enough, it all made sense to me after that!
I do hope Kate and Danny Tamberelli write more books as they are a great couple who know how to get their readers to laugh. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for an advanced copy of this. I’m sorry it took me so long to get to it. The Road Trip Rewind hit the shelves this past May.

Love the nostalgia, love the premise. It did take longer than expected for the story to gain traction and make it interesting. I felt like there was more fluff and backstory than was necessary.

I loved the way they found their way back to each other, and how they remembered all of the details from their past.

The Road Trip Rewind has such a fun premise- time travel, second chance, enemies to lovers style romantic comedy with heart. But for me, it didnt work. The first thing is I just could not connect with the characters, especially Bea. I feel like there was a full book before this that might have explained everything with her family and I couldnt figure out what the story was and why it was a big deal until I was already sorta checked out. Rocco was fine but his POV didnt provide what I wanted from him, emotional depth and growth. The twist just made me angry because it broke all the rules and then they didnt do anything to try and fix it, what other craziness ensued from their decisions and just they went with it. I am sorry this was just not for me.

I am a sucker for a time travel book and this one was so much fun to read! There were so many 90s references that the little teenager inside of me was squeeing because the 90s were the best.

This book was full of tension and fun and I wish i could read this over again for the first time. I really didn’t want this book to end.

Thank you to Kensington Books, NetGalley and the authors for an eARC for a honest review of the book.

Thanks so much to NetGalley, the authors and Kensington Books for providing me with an advanced listener copy in exchange for a honest review. This was a fun and nostalgic read. I loved how the characters were older and that the second chance at love trope. Witnessing the two main characters travel through time to the 90s kept me entertained, but I felt like the romance almost came on too suddenly - I also prefer a bit more open door romance instead because of just alluding to it. I felt like it missed that form of vulnerability, which made me not completely believe in the story.

The best part of the story was Beatrix being able to change a part of her past… without saying too much, it was really heartwarming.

Both narrators did a good job! I thought it was super cool that the one author narrated as well. I just felt like his part was a bit unpolished (eg. hearing him take deep breaths in between lines.)

Overall rating: 3.5/5 (rounded up)

Beatrix Noel is a screenwriter and about to make her big break with her script that tells her own story. The star of the movie is none other than star actor Rocco Riziero, who also happens to be Beatrix’s ex. Rocco doesn’t remember Beatrix, but she sure remembers him and right after she finally tells Rocco who she is the pair are in a car crash that sends them back to the 90s. Shocked and confused, but otherwise okay Beatrix and Rocco try to figure out why they are suddenly in 1999 and how to get back to the present. Along the way they confront their feelings, face past fears and correct old mistakes, but will that be enough to get them out of the 90s?

I really enjoyed the premise of this book and found it fun and refreshing to take this nostalgic trip back in time. I thought Rocco and Beatrix were great together and I loved their chemistry and banter. I wasn’t expecting a trip back in time in reality, but even though it was unbelievable (as expected), I still enjoyed this fun twist that add led so much to this story. The nostalgia in this book helped make this an even better story and I think it was the perfect way to tie this second chance romance together. This is a fun and funny read that is great for anyone looking for a good second chance romance with a blast from the past.

Thank you to the author, Kensington Books and NetGalley, for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. My apologies for the delay in posting this review, I had a bit too much going on.

Time travel and the question of how to get back to the time you come from, 90s nostalgia, second chance romance with hindsight - lots of elements that make up a good read. I found parts of this outrageously funny, but others went over like a wet balloon. The female main character was not easy to like, lots of holding on to bitterness there, which gave the romance element the second time around a bit of a credibility problem. The pacing was a bit off, at times very slow and then again much too quick. Overall an enjoyable read, but not destined to be a favorite of mine.

Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington Books for my #gifted copy. My opinions are my own.

Beatrix or Bea Noel's true-life story is coming to fruition on the big screen and starring her almost ex, Rocco Riziero, who doesn't even remember her.

Bea gives Rocco a really hard time; Shes standoffish, withholds praise and warmth. In fact, she's kind of cold to Rocco. Wanting to figure Bea out and why she's so cold to him, Rocco sets up a coffee meeting to has it out. He discovers who Beatrix was, Trixie, the girl he left behind for Piper, his co-star.

While bickering, they get into a car crash, somehow going backward in time, back to 1999. Will Bea and Rocco make amends? Does Bea seek out her Dad, on his deathbed, asking for forgiveness? Will they ever get back home?

My thoughts:
I LOVED this enemies-to-lovers, second chance magical romance! Bea and Rocco's witty banter made this book come alive. I enjoyed their love story and especially loved the ending! Such a funny, sweet, heart-breaking read! I didn't want it to end!

Fans of Lucy Score and Tessa Bailey will enjoy this one! Looking forward to more by this author.

A fun, nostalgic second chance story. I appreciated that they didn't go too deep into the time travel aspect (in terms of trying to science it out), and instead let the story roll. Charming characters and good banter.

3.5 stars! I read the Tamberelli's first book, The First Date Prophecy and LOVED it!! This one is in the same universe and follows Beatrix and Rocco (Rudy's brother from the first book!)

For me, this one was a bit harder to follow, and I wasn't able to fall in love with the characters as much. This is as second chance romance for Bea and Rocco, but I feel like I didn't know/see enough of "young Rocco" to love him and have any time of redemption arc/connection for him. The love story was less believable for me in this one.

This book was so much fun to read! I always love a traditional rom com but sometimes I need a break from all of that, and this book was perfect for that! I loved the characters and the aspect of time travel added a really unique touch to the story. I was living for all the sass between the characters while watching them fall back in love.

Sometimes it takes me a while to get into the story of a book, but with this one I was able to jump right in and follow along on their crazy journey. I really enjoyed the book and would definitely recommend it to anyone!

I had a good time reading this! Such a fun cute lovely read! The connection between Rocco and Bea in both timelines was heartwarming.
Bea, a strong heroine, was heartbroken by Rocco, who doesn't recognize her now. Her family history subplot was intriguing, and while Rocco initially annoyed me, he grew on me. Overall, it was a delightful story with great chemistry.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the e-ARC!

This book was a blast from the past going back to the 90s. It was fun to see so many references to pop culture . Overall this book was ok, just something about the character I had a hard time connecting with. It was ok just not great.

The Road Trip Rewind is another cute fantastical love story co-written by the littler Pete and his wife. It’s super cute, and I maybe even preferred it to its predecessor. Bea is a strong, complex heroine who was once left heartbroken by the story’s hero, Rocco. Even though she has spent years resenting him, Rocco doesn’t even recognize her. I liked Bea’s storyline, especially the subplot about her family history. While Rocco initially irritated me, he grew on me by the end. All in all the story was entertaining and the characters had good chemistry. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the e-arc.

This is so fantastic - such a good story, great characters, and for this forever 90s kid a welcome nostalgic trip back to the best era. ❤️

This was such a fun read! I loved the time travel aspect, all of the 90s references, Beas favorite scent from 1999 was also my favorite scent. Rocco and Bea together in both times just gave me all the heart eyes when they got into the groove of being together again. If you like Back to the Future, Doctor Who or Bill and Ted give this to me a shot. I think you will like it!

After reading the first date prophecy, I knew that the Road Trip Rewind would be a treat. I didn’t know it would be a super indulgent treat! It’s got so much fun in it! We go back to the same universe, different Rizzero brother’s story this time. We have all sorts of fun settings, and time travel to 1999! It was as much fun as a road trip you’d take yourself (assuming you like road trips, which I very much do!) and then some. I loved it from start to finish, and would absolutely read more! Perhaps Pipper’s story next?

This was a follow up to The First Date Prophecy which loved but can be read as a standalone. It follows Beatrix Noel, an upcoming screenwriter whose dream project is finally a reality. Less dreamy is the actor in the starring role, Rocco Riziero, who jilted Beatrix back in 1999 on New Year's Eve.

While Rocco was doing a great job on set, Beatrix gave away nothing when he asked her for pointers. Perplexed, Rocco sought her out. Their bickering resulted in a car crash right outside the scene of their last encounter back then. They walked out uninjured, only to find themselves back in time, in the year 1999.

They now had to figure out why they were there and how they'd be able to get out and back to present day. In the process, they grew closer, confronted past hurts and mistakes, and found closure especially for Beatrix. It was an emotional time to be sure, but I loved that they were better for it.

I enjoyed this, getting to see characters from the first book, the twists that came about, the 90s vibes, it was all amazing!

The premise is such a great idea, and I'm so excited to read another time travel story especially since it takes place in 90s. However, this one fell flat. It have its fun and charm at some part, but mostly just felt sluggish.
