This is such a helpful compliation of work from the ASK PASTOR JOHN podcast. As a weekly listener, this book provides a great tool - almost a concordance - to the work that John has provided. His podcast is thoughtful and helpful bringing hard cultural and theological questions into a very practical view. This book does the very same thing.

John Piper's podcast has been a source of wisdom for many years, it is a reliable source for me, and it is not unentertaining. I applaud this effort by Tony Reinke (whose voice I really enjoy as well) to put all this knowledge together in one book and make it accessible in book form. I believe that every pastor, parent, leader or teacher can benefit from having this book of answers on hand, as reference material for all those questions that arise in our own minds, or our children ask us. Personally, I have a couple of teenagers with a very active brain and full of questions. I love the possibility of talking about these topics together with a reference guide like this one. Congratulations! Thank you for this effort, very grateful for this resource.

I am thoroughly enjoying this book and have found it to be very helpful and practical. It's very biblically sound. It takes Pastor John Piper's podcasts where people ask him questions and groups the responses into categories. The book is very well organized. The episodes that contribute to the content on each topic are listed below so you can go back and listen to the whole podcast if you want a more detailed explanation. The book covers a huge range of topics from Bible intake to guns to sex to movies, suicide, barrenness, and way more.

I particularly enjoyed the chapter on Bible reading, Bible neglect and Bible memory. I have included Bible memory in my morning routine off and on for years but more off of late. I was convicted and encouraged to take the practice up again. Piper talks of how powerful it is when you're talking with someone dying or suffering and can quote a verse or promise to them while looking them in the eye. He gave tips on how to go about memorizing that seemed manageable and even gave some chapters and verses to begin on.

I started reading this book on kindle as I received a free e-copy from Crossway but I quickly bought a hard copy as I wanted to be able to find topics more easily and to be able to underline and make notes that I could find more easily. It made me want to listen to the podcast as well. I'm going to download some to my phone to listen to while I travel or do household chores. It's been very encouraging for my soul. I'll be buying more copies for my family members. It's so rich and full of glorious biblical truth and wisdom. I'd highly recommend it. Thank you to Crossway for the free e-copy. All opinions are my own.

Ask Pastor John is a wonderful book tackling many of the questions John Piper has answer over the years on his podcast. Through the Desiring God podcast listener's ask everyday questions where he uses scripture to provide biblical answers. I love how he breaks it down into small bites in a God honoring way.
Tony Reinke gives a brief bio on John Piper, as well as a brief summery of 750 Bible answers to life's everyday questions. I believe that this is meant to be a companion to the Desiring God podcast, and it is filled with many thought provoking answers to life's most fundamental questions.
I loved this book and I think it is a must read for today's christian who desire's to honor God through their life. So that you can see Him, savor Him, and show him for what He is really like. "For God is most pleased with us when we are most satisfied in Him."

I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own

I'm going to preface this review by saying I reviewed this book because my closest friend is a huge fan of Pastor John. We differ very much in beliefs, but I respect her beliefs and saw this as an opportunity to learn more about her and her family. (After I told her she said I was not going to like Ask Pastor John at all)I

I'll admit I don't agree with some things answered, but I did agree with some things too like the first chapter. I would recommend this book to those wanting to strengthen their faith or just entering the world of Christianity. If your ideology is more neutral or liberal in their beliefs this is a great book to ask yourself does this make sense to you, you may surprise yourself by finding out you have more In common than you think.

For many years, off and on, I have watched John Piper’s – Ask Pastor John on the Desiring God YouTube. Where he tackles a question asked by a listener. They are well done Biblical answers, about fifteen minutes in length. I appreciate that he tackles questions such that deal with everyday life and situations. So what I am reviewing here is the Ask Pastor John – 750 Bible Answers to Life’s Most Important Questions by Tony Reinke.

The book provides a summary about the podcast, the history of the podcast, John Piper’s bio, along with a brief summary of many of the questions that have been on the podcast over the years. The book is meant to be used more as a reference to go with the podcast. There are almost 2000 episodes that have been released. So this book helps to organize them, somewhat like an encyclopedia. The book only includes 750 of the most popular episodes.

“The teacher always learns more than the student. This is God’s way: it is always more blessed to give than to receive.”
