"Productivity is effectively stewarding your gifts, talents, time, energy, and enthusiasm for the good of others and the glory of God."
"Truly productive people do not seek to be productive in order to discover their purpose but are productive because they have already found their purpose in God and now want to live it out."
In a culture that so often prioritizes the hustle and grind, I think that Avila's book is timely. One of the first things she does in defining productivity is *why* we work and why we try to be productive with a Gospel understanding--because the Gospel changes everything, including how we think about work.
Toward the end of the book, I did feel that it got a little repetitive, but I overall found it to be a worthwhile read.

Make the Most of Your Productivity: A Guide to Honoring God with Your Time by Ana Avila
This little book packs a big punch! Not only does the author cover obstacles to productivity and character traits we need to develop to overcome those obstacles, but also practical tips for being more productive and forming healthy habits. My favorite chapter was about focus and exercising your attention span to improve it. In this digital age there is so much to distract us (not to mention the busyness of life, motherhood, etc).
I would generally consider myself a productive person, but there were definitely things in this book that inspired me to focus and plan my time better. I appreciated the suggestion to plan things according to how much time we have available so that we don’t take on too much! In this season of motherhood everything takes longer than I think it will, so I need to work on keeping that in mind so I can say yes to the important things and no to what I won’t have time to complete.
Ana reminds us in her book that we don’t have to know all the details ahead of time because we know God has already given us the resources to live a life that pleases him! Tasks may be too big or complicated for us, but God is bigger! He has provided us with the time that we need to do whatever he asks us to do.

Thank you to @crossway for gifting me a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
I am not a planner. This book challenged me to view planning from a gospel centred world view. I especially enjoyed how the book used scripture to inform the gospel centred view about planning. Matthew 25 is an interesting chapter and very intriguing considering planning. Thank you for the ARC of this book.
We all would love to be more productive in life; we would love to do it all. However, at some point in life, we understand that we cannot. Ana Avila shares many tips on how to grow in productivity for God's glory in "Make the Most of Your Productivity." Each chapter of her book includes Reflection questions and Action points that help you put productivity into practical action. Avila also shares an example weekly plan worksheet and weekly plan checklist to help your planning. Make the Most of Your Productivity is a book for the reader who wants to make the most of their time that they have left on earth; after all, we do not know what our last day will be. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends who want to be more organized. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
Although the genre of this book (productivity/self-help) is outside of what I would ordinarily read, I found “Make the Most of Your Productivity” to be biblically insightful and practical.
Avila is refreshingly honest—she doesn’t sugar-coat bad habits, nor does she present the practical tips in the book as life-changing or revolutionary in and of themselves. She lays a solid, biblical foundation for a Christian perspective on productivity while also providing detailed examples to help you grow in the discipline of productivity.
I was relieved by her straightforwardness about how sin gets in the way of our productivity and encouraged by her reminders that the grace of the gospel enables us to repent and move forward when we fail.
Although I wouldn’t necessarily recommend for a group study, I would certainly recommend for individuals looking to grow in discipline. I believe it would be an especially helpful read for mothers (whether they stay at home or working) as it provides a strategic vision for how we can approach our days.
How can we honor God with our time as Christians?
How can create realistic, God-honored goals?
In her book, Make The Most Of Your Productivity, author Ana Avila answers these questions and more. This short book is packed full - not only of Biblical wisdom, but practical tips and examples. I really appreciated the blend of the two.
The principles that Ana lays out in this book will help you:
*increase your efficiency
*discover what goals you should make and how to make them
*form healthy habits, with boundaries
*learn how to prioritize tasks and implement ways to complete them
*reorient your time and focus
*use tools to discover God's design for your life
This book is a short read, but make sure to have a journal and planner nearby so you can take notes and implement these principles as you go.
First of all, thank you Netgalley for the ARC granted. I knew I would love this book, and actually it has exceeded my expectations! In a world that lives in a hurry and desperation race to achieve things, the author reminds Us what a productive life really means and the effort we ust do in order to appreciate life aligned to the purpose God has created us. More than approved!
