A detailed look at the way an United States Embassy works and the way the U.S. government wastes American tax dollars. 1st time reading Mel Harrison, I enjoyed the book, and recommend it if you want to learn about what I already stated above. Slow paced book until the sh** hits the fan during a Pakistani coordinated demonstration that gets deadly.
Thanks to Indie Published and NetGalley for the ARC of the book.
An action packed thriller that hits the right spots. This is my first thriller from the series. I will be looking to read the rest
This story is set primarily in and around the US Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan and the plot is in essence the build-up to an attack on the Embassy. There is a lot of detail regarding the staffing/personnel of the Embassy and its procedures, highlighting the weaknesses that allow the attack to occur. The story is relatively slow-paced, if you're looking for a fast-paced, action-packed thriller, this is not it, but if you're looking for a detailed description of the preconditions for the attack, then yes. The characters and their interplay seemed interesting and authentic.
