So this book certainly has some interesting tales of how some Christmas traditions came to be and the darker sides to the cheery Holiday. I found it to be overall interesting and it was a nice idea to add the crafts into it as well but a lot of the different beliefs people had tended to be similar so for me personally it often felt as though in parts I was reading the same thing over and over which made it read more like a text book

Mixed feelings about this book - on one hand I loved the tales of pagan-origin Christmas traditions, mostly from a cold and snowy Europe, but on the other, it was a bit of a mish-mash and I'm not sure the craft parts were appropriate. While I appreciate that a lot of research has gone into this I do think it could have been a little shorter and better put together. I did not finish it, but will continue next Yuletide!
